The person at the front desk was extremely knowledgeable about all of the artifacts and well preserved ancient organisms. Might be a small building but it’s jam packed with history.
Very impressed by this hidden gem with so many artifacts and a holding cell. What we were very happy with was an indepth tour of the museum. A great stop in Hicksville
I went here on a field trip when I was in middle school, and just did a follow up trip with my wife and kid and was happy I did so. This museum has many interesting exhibits ranging from fossils, insects and rocks all the way to local town history, which I found personally interesting. The staff here are very well informed, put on a good tour, and are very friendly

AWFUL FOOD AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I wish I could rate them ZERO STARS! They have a food kiosk at Cantiague Park/Pool. Today, August 20, 2023 I purchased three hot dogs and they had a grayish/green tint to them. They had an awful taste of plain boiled fat. We couldn’t eat them…we were concerned about food poisoning! I brought it to the attention of the sales lady (Juana Granada) and she became irate and insisted that they were top quality and brand name. Please don’t eat any food from this place, you risk getting very sick. 🤢🤮
Clean park, not crowded. Plenty to do in one place. Pack a cooler and enjoy a variety of activities in one place.

Large park. Athletic fields are pristine and updated. Smaller playground area is nice. Larger one is becoming dilapidated. There is also poison ivy scattered throughout the park and the larger playground area.

This park should be listed as an amusement park. They had lots of amenities like an Olympic sized pool, miniature golf ⛳ large interactive playgrounds ice hockey and other great sports games. $10 out of state parking was well worth it.

My first time picnicking at this park. It was very nice, clean and family friendly with lots of things to do
As of right now it is Hicksville's only remaining extant museum, situated in the historic Heitz Place Courthouse. This wonderful place hosts community flea market and craft fairs every Saturday in the Month of June this year and occasionally other weekends along with Open Houses. So if you haven't visited yet, make sure to come in one of these weekends. Hicksville Residents get free admission year round and staff is knowledge. So make sure to come visit it. Right now is the 60th anniversary. So there is no better time to visit than these Saturdays.

Museums like these offer so many benefits and services to their communities. This one also offers rock and arthropod identification services by way of the curator for the former and staff Entomologist for the latter. Besides Stonebrook there is no museum on Long Island that offers so much in terms of rocks and minerals.

Was able to go out and play a quick round of golf. Course seems a little beat up already. I usually avoid golf courses until it is hot. Was a nice round. I had no wait and played 5 minutes after arriving. Price just seems high.
Interesting, very small, and have fair in some Satuady

Public park if you're non-resident you get charged a fee in the summer between memorial Day and Labor Day. A lot of space for different games and playgrounds and an ice rink as well.
Really cool hidden gem containing a large collection of fossils, minerals, butterflies & moths, and Long Island history. Paul was a terrific guide, with a lot of knowledge and compassion.
I took my 13 yr old son after hearing about the museum from a coworker who went. They have an amazing display of fossils and crystals that are housed in a historically significant building in Hicksville. We both learned a lot as we toured everything with the knowledgeable gentleman that was there today. Would definitely recommend giving the Gregory Museum a visit.
Please call to schedule a tour with this museum. It's such a cute hole in the wall that features. Gemstones, fossils, hicksville memorabilia and old maps. This museum site used to be rhe town hall and has the original jail. The tour guide is super friendly and gives alot of information.
