Remarkable heritage of the historical village destroyed by in 79. All the remaining building s and living areas inspired us that the life in ancient Roman was even more convenient and highly developed than today.
I didn't feel too enthralled when we arrived in the car park, partly due to the torrential rain. However once we started walking around it was really interesting. Some of the information boards could do with refurbishing but I was pleased to find that some of the information was written in English. We had a very good guide who really brought the place to life. I was amazed by how well some of the murals and mosaics are preserved, and so colourful. Also fantastic that we could get so close to these ancient remains, and even walking on some of the mosaic floors. Definitely worth a visit and friends who have been to Pompeii said that they prefer Herculaneum even though its smaller.
Phenomenal experience! Absolutely stunning frescoes and well preserved buildings give a look back into earlier life.

If you are in a hurry, do the tour with a guide. The streets are winding and you may not exit on your first try. Audio guide is good if you have time to wander.
An absolutely incredible archeological site with well preserved structures and artifacts from 79 AD. If you are exploring the past and visiting Pompeii then this place won't let you down. On a more practical note, there is car parking, vending machines, toilets and takes around 2 hours to fully explore.
My parents have been to Pompeii but heard this was much better, so we did a private tour and wow was it amazing to see all the walls, murals, tile floors, doors, and more still intact due to the mud preserving it. I recommend doing a tour/guide because there is so many small details and amazing facts you might miss. Don't miss the 2 small museums either!
There was so much rich history here. It’s best to have a guided tour to understand what you’re looking at because the ruins can be confusing otherwise. Crowded but much less than other attractions in the region. Nice restaurants and vendors onsite. The museum you visit after the park is also very detailed and nice. It was cool to see some preserved/mummified corpses.
The exhibit was not very efficient in explaining what happened in Ercolano and Pompeii+not well maintained and very boring.
Movie at the end was somewhat nice
Chiesa molto bella!
We were disapointed. They are talking about the food taste, smell taste,.. nothing happened..

1969 de Villa Favorita

The view from our 5th floor room was fantastic. And San Sabastian is an amazing and beautiful destination.

But don’t stay here. Unfortunately, but for the view, the hotel does not have the depth of staff required to make this hotel excellent or even good. I will provide a few examples below.

The rooms are typical for Europe and very small. They tried to upgrade the tech and add auto blinds next to the bed, but one of our room controls did not work so you had to get up to adjust the shades by the window anyway. So at that point, a typical curtain would be better.

The faucets in the shower were an attempt at modern but were challenging and complicated to work. The toilet is Japanese tech and nice. It had a bidet.

A couple of examples of the staffing issue. First, we had an early morning flight and went to the lobby at 6:45 am. We had made arrangements for an early driver and for the hotel to package us a breakfast and coffee. The breakfast idea was the hotels when I had them make arrangements for the driver.
When we came down to the lobby exactly at 6:45 am, no one was there.

The car came and I went out to get our luggage in and the Electonic door closed behind me. The problem is that the door locked behind me and I could not get back in. Terrible.

My wife came and moved in front of the motion detector to get the door to open. I made sure she did not get locket out too, or she would have. (Double doors)

The lobby person came with coffee and apologized for not being there and said she was making the coffee. She also said that the breakfast was not ready yet. She left. We waited ten minutes. We rang the bell. She never came back so we left for the airport. It was supposed to be a croissant and yogurt. It was not a cooked order or anything complicated. So that sucks. They should not have offered breakfast. Once they did, it should have been ready. They knew we had a flight and had booked the car for us.

The second item has to do with integrity of the hotel. We had our laundry done by the hotel. We expected it to be expensive. We had them wash a handful of underwear and socks, a few workout clothes but no nice clothes. The room did not have a price list by the laundry. We told the person at the desk that there was no pricing list when my wife dropped off the laundry. You can and should expect it to be expensive in a hotel for laundry but this was outrageous. They must have charged for each sock. The bill was 132 euro (about 150 dollars) for one load. I could have bought new what we washed for less than that amount. I complained and the first person did nothing but say the price list is there and I carefully explained that it was not there. Later, the hotel adjusted the bill to $114 dollars when I complained to a different person, who was very nice but said she couldn’t adjust it more. I don’t usually write negative reviews, but feel we were cheated. I don’t like that feeling!!!! And it’s bad business. It was the hotel’s error, and I thought it would be 50 or 60 bucks, the cost is not a thing to me - and I feel blessed about that- but the cheating is a thing. It first it seemed by design, but I think it’s in line with the other service and staffing issues.

Another example of a system and staffing failure: We used the hotel robes on the first day. They took those to wash and did but put them back. So we had to ask for them again.

Overall, I cannot recommend the hotel. But it does have an amazing view if you can get the Electonic blinds to raise.

So this Favorite hotel is not my favorite.

The app was working for us, the visuals weren't all working. Buy the ticket at Ercolano for discount. Don't expect help from the staff, who's English proficiency is probably the reason. We enjoyed it nevertheless because it visualized what you've just witnessed in full colour.
The museum tells the sorry of Pompeii and Ercelano. It is an interactive museum however the exhibits are not very well maintained with some not working or half working. There is a 3d movie at the end which is nice but not very impressive.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
It is a good option for an activity on a rainy day.
A good place to visit to complement your tour of the excavation. We really enjoyed seeing 3D rendering of remains of rooms we had visited just an hour before, giving us good ideas on how they actually were 2000 years ago.
Unfortunately, the technology used is already dated. The video projectors are no longer performing well, are misaligned and out of focus. Some exhibitions are no longer working.
With some renovation and modernization, this exhibitions would have huge potential and be 5 stars

Beautiful little park. Not an awful lot to do here but there are some nice buildings you sadly can’t enter. Definately ok if you want to relax or go to the beach (which is right behind a little passage at the back)

I visited the Museo Archeologico Virtuale back in 2019. It's a fantastic concept, providing an interactive experience of what Herculaneum would’ve been like just before and during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Much of the exhibition are video experiences of the buildings showing what they would’ve looked like before the eruption, as well as on some of the archaeological artefacts. The experience ends with an all round cinematic experience of life in Herculaneum

TL;DR
Huge potential, but right now total rip off.

Maybe for Italians this place can be wonderful and really joyfully. Foreigners in my opinion are not welcome here. Really helpful and cheerful, but none English speaking staff. It's sad that "Arte Card" don't work here either.

From outside you will be thinking that this place is luxurious and well-preserved in comparison to surrounding. This is big mistake.

On the ground floor you have nothing special. You will find a neglected garden and fountain. Little bit further, there are plenty of empty spaces inside of the villa. On the right side of the hall there are some other small neglected gardens. First experience was pretty awful.

The only hope was higher levels and we spent 15 min looking for way to go there (behind small doors there is an elevator).

On the first floor again there was almost nothing. Empty spaces, no signs, no informations. Only paintings on celling (pretty awesome) and few furnitures with some arts.

We go even higher, but on second floor there are only offices.

I really like the paintings and all building decorations. In my opinion this place has huge potential, but right now it's not worth such money.
The idea is very good with films that show not only reconstructions from Herculanum, but also from Pompeii. I don't really understand why the watch-like thing one is given is necessary, as it is only used three times. There are additional texts in several places and some texts only in Italian.
Some of the films felt a bit like: see what we can do with a computer.
And please, let somebody translate the English texts again. Some of them were so bad, that they were meaningless.
Go there before you visit the excavation.

Miejsce poświęcone cesarzowi Augustowi. Najładniejsze freski z całego Herkulanum
A must to see after Pompeii
Interesting, especially appealing to kids (possibly except the lupanar :)

Tip: getting the MAV tickets at the real archaeological site close-by (Ercolano Scavi, info desk at the entrance) gets you a small discount (8€ instead of 10€ at the MAV ticket office directly).

Great wall paintings
In this site resided an order of Roman priests instituted by Tiberius, to attend to the maintenance of the cult of Augustus

Chromatically astounding. Structurally modern. Carbonized wooden beams still visible.
This place is beautiful!!! Totally worth the trip!!
