This is one of the many places we love having a family pass to. There is no pressure to see everything in one trip then. We enjoy seeing the different exhibits through the changing seasons.
A lot of history is covered under the roof of this three story building. The history of dinosaurs, Egyptians, world wars, and historical leaders are covered in a well laid out setting. There are a few interactive exhibits and a play area for kids.
This is one of the best science center we have visited out of the 150+ we have been to across the country. We loved how interactive it is. The winter wonderland exhibit they have up right now was so enjoyable! The aviation and aeronautic area is excellent! We wish we had more time to play and learn here!
My only complaint is the toothbrush claw game by the end, I wanted to just smash it to get a toothbrush. No matter how you hooked the toothbrush kit when the claw got to the top it bumps so hard they just fallout. I give this a huge one star!!!! Five different people walking by told me that there is no way to win and they have tried 100s of times.

I grew up around here and I always had have had a love for the exploration place. So when visiting with my son for the first time I made it the first place we would go to.
It's still awesome. For four adults and one child I spent just under eighty dollars. They always have cycling exhibits and at the time of visitation it was the holloween event. They had alot of projection games on the walls and floors that were like Snake or an original body movement game. On one wall they had a zombie game where you throw dodge balls to hit them. It was a blast.
As you go through the other areas you learn alot. There is a tiny arcade with arcade machines that require no payment but are health themed. It's cute.
Another area teaches of Kansas and engineering. Big aircraft portion. But I love the midevil and fantasy section. They have a catapult that your kid can fire little plastic balls. The catapult is up high and secured to where your child can send rounds without the concern of then hurting someone.
The indoor playground is incredible. I wish I had more pictures but I added one of the crawlspace and the little windows they put in. It's a kids world there.
I never remembered the little city with the model train and added a video of a section of it. But I would say seeing it in person is so fun!!

That was a cool museum, I kind of liked it. But also it's pretty boring, but I would say that if you live in Kansas, it's definitely gonna be the best place you can go. A few dinosaur skeletons, a few cool mummies, lots of war things, and a lot of Roman and European history things. In general, I liked it. Thank you! 🌟
Great day trip for the grand kids! There's a lot to do, and it's a full day's trip. And it wasn't overweight expensive. The food was affordable & geared towards kids. The Halloween theme delighted my granddaughter. There was an app physical activity that they were ready for a nap. When we got home, YAY Grandma!!!
It is a neat display. With a lot more out there than we thought would be. All the exhibits are closed. But the giraffes were still out and the little one was running around. Took us about an hour to walk thru and look at everything. There are some really big displays that pictures don't show. Some of them are moving. Others blow smoke or bubbles. We had a great time and the weather was perfect.
The lights are amazing. It’s the perfect time to go. It’s not too cold or warm. I was impressed by the amount of lights they had out.

We went to the Halloween event at Cowtown and it was a really great time! The reenactors are great with the kids and very patient. There was plenty to do and it was a great time! We may have even learned a thing or two which made for some great conversation about history on the drive home.
Very beautiful walking trail along the River ...walk ..run...skate..bike.....hike..scooter...or skip....or just sit and enjoy the buetiful view.....on a buetiful weekend day or any sunny day
As of Oct 20, 2023, the fountain show looks to be downgraded to a very simple fountain viewing. We were expecting the colorful show as in some of the pictures but were disappointed.
Although I live here with my mother and sisters, I must rave about how amazing it is here. As I buzz around, collecting pollen and nectar from the local fauna, I see the smiles and joy emitted from the humans that roam from exhibit to exhibit. I love this place not only because I call it home, but the humans are friendly, and rarely swat at me or show fear. Well...sometimes the kids do, but if their parents take 30 seconds to educate themselves on bees versus wasps, and share how harmless my sisters and I are, the kids quickly let their fear fade away.
Anyway, this is such an amazing place, and well kept! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

Wichita’s finest westside park, just north of Ridge Road, accessible from either 21st or 13th. This park area is massive and is loaded with playgrounds, paved paths and dirt trails, and multiple lakes and ponds that can be fished or just admired along with the surrounding wildlife. The park is well kept and has enough parking even for the busiest of days. There are rentable enclosed shelters and many benches, grills, and open shelters that are all free for visitors. There’s plenty of courts for tennis, basketball, and pickle ball, as well as softball fields and sledding hills. Sedgwick County Park has it all for Wichita and I give it my highest recommendation.
I love the nighttime displays! Do beautiful. Great spot for a walk with your date.
I went here after going to the nearby western town area. It was a nice building! Neat looking use of space. There were no special exhibits there when I visited. It was a nice part of the day! It was my only full day there and so it was a nice part of my chain of visits. Especially since it was within walking distance of the old town area (both free on Sunday!!)

One of the best in the country! Great place to spend a day with family and/or friends. Would definitely go when the weather is nice so all of the animals are out. If you really take everything in, will take a better part of the day. Always updating the facility and is very well managed. Greay to have this attraction in our hometown... something to be very proud of. Enjoy!
This is an awesome zoo. I have been able to visit this zoo several times in the past 25 years despite the fact I didn't live here. We recently moved here and I look forward to coming more often.
The only complaint I have is the fact I am disabled and paid more for the scooter I needed to get around than my ticket to get in. I couldn't believe it! Why are those who are handicapped being punished to see the zoo. Because of this fact, I won't be able to come often. I can understand a fee, but charging more than an entrance ticket, really? I just don't understand. I even asked if I was a member was the scooter complimentary and was told no. I am very sadden by this.

Beautiful day for the zoo. Recommend going soon as they open, before the heat of the sun is the hottest. We clocked over 10,000 steps and still didn't see everything. Very clean and maintained with such pride.
Definitely worth it to visit The Keeper of the Plains along the ArKansas river near downtown Wichita. We had a family event near Exploration Place so we parked on the Riverside side & walked over the bridge & down to exploration place to meet with our family group. We had not been for several years. And it was a lovely evening to be on the river bank enjoying the stars and the breeze and our family. Free.
We randomly stopped here cause something else was closes and we loved it. The staff was amazing and supper awesome. We had our two kids with us and they really enjoyed everything.
Great way to spend a couple hours. Exhibits from around the world, showing ancient history to modern historical events. Wheelchair accessible entrance, elevator for convenience, with handicap restrooms located on the second floor. Interesting items in the gift shop at the entrance.
Went there for Latin Fest, free parking everywhere. Not too crowded, well organized and safe. Had a good time!
The opening of Upside Down, Topsy-Turvy, And Inbetween was a whimsical adventure of Sight...Sound...and Taste. Fire twirllers greet you at the entrance. Step inside to hear the sound of bongos. Climb the stairs to find arialists, popcorn n cotton candy and circus art. A Great time was had by ALL!
When I want to go to a place to walk my dogs, run, walk with my kids, or have my kids play on a park. I take them to Sedgwick County Park
I have been coming to this park for over 35 years.
The paved paths a great. On the west side the paths are shaded with some mature trees, and they have a thick wooded area you can go for a nature walk if you wish.

Great option for running, walking, biking, picnicking or just hanging out outdoors! There is shaded trails for when you need some time outside of the sun. Restrooms are the cleanest public park restrooms I’ve ever seen! Parking is plentiful and the sidewalks are paved with plenty of space. Check it out!

The castle was awesome for the kids to run around and learn how life was during medieval places. The exhibits on aviation was really cool and there was something for both kids and adults. My daughter and I enjoyed flying the business jet to various cities.
Highly recommend this place if you are a local or visiting. We spent only 2 hours there because we got mid afternoon and they were closing. Could have spent more time there if it was possible.

This place is great. It's free to enter but they do have temporary paid exhibits, a cafe, and a gift shop. There are so many great pieces in here, some exhibits downstairs, and quite a few upstairs. Make sure to get a map so you don't miss anything.
The bathrooms were clean and they do have an elevator. The parking lot was free and pretty big.

The fountains were running but the shows did not play for whatever reason they were temporarily down. We still had fun
For 2 people, it was 22 dollars to enter. The bathrooms were nice and clean, and they had an elevator inside. The parking outside was easy, but can be hard to find on a Saturday from what I'm told. There's no eating out drinking inside, and you need at least 2 full hours to see everything.
They have some actual dinosaur fossils, mummies, a section of the Berlin wall, and so many other things. The volunteer staff is really nice.

I brought a large group to this establishment but didn't go past the gift shop. They all said it was pretty neat. My only dislike was that they allowed this cat to roam free indoors where we were setup to dine. Personally, I feel it's unsanitary to allow animals to be on surfaces where food is being prepared and or eaten. Yuck! The staff was nice and so was the gift shop.
Ok! Great monument really cool. Do not go down here unless you are armed. Dangerous full of bums criminals and cretins. Seems to be a party location for certain groups. Some areas have been shut down because of vandalism. The parking lot across the street is not patrolled and not safe. Come very early keep your head on a swivel and be wary.
Dinosaurs section is top notch. Very well laid out super articulation and a amazing t-Rex specimen. Having the Rex next to its cousin is a great touch. The way they have displayed the evil looking monster fish (which gave me nightmares) is so cool. The ancient history area is very nice. Good flow and it made sense the way it was laid out. Egypt could use a bit of help with labels and lighting but still very well done. Nice paintings by the way with the mummies good work there. Second floor was not quite as polished as the first, however this so still a very good collection. Well worth the visit. I will say again though Parents control your brats!
I had the opportunity to explore Wichita's Old Cowtown Museum, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The experience of strolling through the authentic historic buildings truly brought the Wild West era to life. The blacksmithing demonstrations further enriched this experience, providing a glimpse into the craftsmanship of the time.
I wholeheartedly recommend this place, especially for families with children. It offers a unique opportunity to witness firsthand how people lived during the Wild West era. It's a chance to gain a deeper appreciation for the luxuries we enjoy today that were absent during that time

Love this park. Lots of stickers though. Don't recommend having dogs in the field.
I thought this was going to be a Ripley’s type place but for the price was willing to give it a shot for a few hours with the kids. I am incredibly impressed by the quality and quantity of artifacts here. Some of the things seen here brought to life things my son has only read about. His life was made and I was happy that this was a real learning experience to see real things that my son had only dreamed of.
Really enjoyed our visit here. I had two kids with me eight and three. There was so much stuff for both of them to do. They accepted our pass from our children's museum back home which was even more awesome. There was a lot to see and do for many ages. We came on a Friday afternoon and it wasn't that busy which was nice. The staff was all helpful and super nice. Some parents couldn't clean up after their kids but thats not the museums fault.
Very impressive, right in the downtown area of Wichita. Loved the detailed history about each building which were mostly moved from nearby areas. Very few of the buildings are replicas. Since the museum was created in in the 1950's, the museum itself seemed part of the history! Character employees and volunteers throughout the buildings such as a printer, blacksmith, carpenter, etc!
Went at 9:30 and waited till 10:20pm, there was no light show at the fountain. Very disappointed we were visiting from Dallas and had planned to spend extra time there just for the show. But the great initiative by the town to have a fountain with a light show.
The fountain itself was beautiful. However, I went to see the show and it never happened. I got there at 8:15 and stayed until 9:30ish. And nothing. Sadly disappointed as I've never seen a dancing fountain and wanted to.
I love Aggie ! She was at the front desk and was very informative and kind. She shared us other places to visit in Wichita for the weekend and was sweet enough to hand over a pamphlet with city’s events and attractions listed. The museum has free floors that we can walk in without a ticket. The displays were nice , what really caught my eye was the bridge with glass Chihuly glass flower display. Especially when the sunlight fell on it, it was mesmerizing to look at!
An out of town visitor, I was able to visit the zoo again for the first time in about ten years. I was very impressed by the new exhibits, especially the Asian Big Cat Trek. The Gorilla Forest was always my favorite exhibit but now it’s even more so as all the trees have matured with the natural canopy offering shade. All of the employees I encountered were very friendly and helpful. I only was able to spend a few hours but easily could have visited all day. There’s a lot of walking but with an adventure this size, nothing wrong with that! I cannot wait until I can visit again, hopefully sooner than another ten years. Baby elephants in the future might make that hard to resist!
Wow, I had no idea what to expect when I decided to visit from out of town. There was a little bit of history for everyone from dinosaurs to American Presidents to past cultures. We visited for a few hours but one could spend days reading all the great signage and learning more. The gift shop offered some neat souvenirs so I picked something up for my daughter. I would love to visit again next time I’m in the area.
Final Friday evening in Old Town Square was great! There were dancers and a torch show an excellent family experience!

Had a wonderful experience this past Saturday, viewing native glass art, watching a war dance, and being able to partake in museum art in a community project. My girls and I cannot wait to be back.
I had an absolute blast here. There is so much history about Wichita and the cowboy lifestyle. Definitely plan for a couple of hours here as there is so much to see and you want to be able to take your time. I want to come back again just to look at the stuff I didn’t catch the first time.
We went for a family birthday during one of their free events! The museum is always lovely with ever changing exhibits but this one was so spectacular! Right now they have a featured exhibit with glass sculptures inspired by Native American Indians. The glass was so breathtaking! The exhibit had so much information it really made you feel connected to the prieces! We always stop by the gift shop (the cards are fabulous!) And donate when we can!

We went using the Summer App for Kansas. It allows you to do whatever activities you would like but limited to 2 per person. But that will typically be all you have time for. We love the Dome movies, they are tremendous. We also saw the magic show. I love that the display changes and really enjoyed the Circus display. It was so much information and things to do. I really like that everything is child-friendly including a snack area that is reasonable.

So many things for kids of all ages to do. The kids did not have enough time to do everything. The adults had a great time too. This is a great attraction for Wichita. It was less crowded the first two hours they were open. Would recommend showing up right when they open.
Very cool place. My son is 13 and enjoyed the hands on experience and we even learned a lot about Kansas as well. Got to play a lot of games and there's also movies in the Dome Theater. Used the Sunflower app to get in free and it was super fun. Long line to get in but wasn't a bad wait.
It is a very nice and clean and updated Park. It was neat seeing a bridge crossing over to the baseball fields next door. Where is family jogging and their children riding bikes as we pulled in and a crosswalk available for them to cross as we pulled in. We were able to find a close location and my babie fish. It was amazing hearing the lions from the zoo roaring which was located east of Sedgwick County Park. Had a good outcome with fishing and was able to return the fish into the pond.
In the last few years they've done an excellent job in several areas, making the zoo even more awesome. The tropical building and the whole zoo is much more wheelchair accessible and generally more accessible overall throughout. The exhibits look great (though there's a lot of construction and maintenance right now. We love that there is wheelchair rentals and online tickets to make getting in easier.

I LOVE this museum. They stage gunfights, have actors perform sceens. Lots of information about these old buildings. A place to stop and get some fun drinks and food. During the holidays they have fun events. It took us about 3 hours to see the whole museum and then we spent some time in the gift shop. This is a must-see if you like history and are stopping in the Wichita area.
Beautiful. Relaxing. Iconic. This is a MUST visit when coming to Wichita. Ride your bike here. Walk around. Take in the history by the status. Come at 9pm to watch the fire display. It’s a great place for the family and friends to come hang out. Pack a lunch or come after ice cream. Great place to hang out and get your picture taken with the Keeper in the background, along with the city views. The exploration place is across the street. It’s within walking distance of River Front Stadium (baseball stadium). Delano district nearby. Parking on either side of the bridges! (Exploration place parking has a lot of room) Enjoy!
We come to walk here nightly. Fire starts at 9pm and lasts 15 minutes. It’s beautiful and culturally significant. If you’re in Wichita, this is a must see!
Absolutely beautiful statue and Native memorial! If you're visiting Wichita it is a very must to see, super romantic as well <3 they turn on the fires around 7PM I believe at least in the cold season, I do believe it changes in the warmer season
We love going to see the lights and water choreography. BRING A TOWEL because it's a lot of fun to stand by the fence and get splashed! I think the music plays for about 10 minutes, but I've never paid close attention to the ending time. We go to the 8 and 9pm ones. 10pm is a little late for our young ones, but I think they do go at 10. I believe it's Thursday through Sunday from spring to fall, but you'd want to verify that before making a special trip out.
A historic museum, that show case old days of Wichita. The museum is a collection of buildings that used to be there. We went during slow season, so there’s not much interaction to do. The staff is nice. It’s a good hour walk around. Might be boring for kids.
We went on a weekday around 11.. Not much going on. Wasn’t that impressed but timing is everything. We did enjoy a flight at Old Chicago and a beer and pretzel at River City. Both good.
Wow. What an experience!! I have wanted to visit here, I live near Cincinnati, for a few years and made it here today!! Such a beautiful statue and tribute to the native Americans that used to live here. The statue itself is breathtaking and the music and panels with information adds to the experience . Free to park and visit.

Belgian artist paper dresses. So much more intricate and beautiful than personal imagination can visualize beforehand. My 6 and 9 year old grandchildren said, "Their minds were blown". An outstanding review, I think. We had a lot of fun. Then strolled through the permanent collection. Their favorite painting, that literally stopped them in their walk around? The Pit. We visited the Ritchie room on the lower level for the rest of the dress review. Great continuity to the bigger show upstairs. And then it was outside to run and look at the outdoor art. It was a great few hours of art.
Dog people REALLY NEED TO USE THE AVAILABLE DOGGY BAGS PROVIDED FOR FREE from the city around the park and PICK UP THEIR PETS' POOP. C'MON NOW. THERE ARE BAG AND GARBAGE STATIONS NEAR AND AROUND THE WALK PATHS. ZERO EXCUSES for seeing your pets' feces all over the grasses. Other than that, a great park to let your kids play and do your walking/running/biking/tennis/pickle ball/ playground/picnicking activities. (Not to mention the fishing activity?)
Made a trip to Wichita to spend time with my granddaughter. I wish we would have had more time to spend here. It’s absolutely beautiful. A great place to walk, run, enjoy a picnic, ride a bike, take pictures or just relax. There’s little scooters you can rent to ride around on also. Hopefully will make it back to enjoy longer next time.
Old Town Square is such a wonderful place for your entertainment experience in so many different ways! From food to shopping and theater! You can hang out in the center of Old Town and just relax watching people walk by. The shopping is great also! So many restaurants to tantalize your palette! You gotta check it all out!! Enjoy!!

The fountains are always beautiful! I love the added park benches around the water fountain. Great place to take the family. I recommend checking the times of each show, and arriving about 15 to 20 minutes early.

Exploration place is always fun. There is so much going on and the new dog exhibit was cool. The boys enjoyed seeing how fast they could run in one of the exhibits. Thank You to Envision for having us out. It was great to see all the art on display and the artists behind them made by the early childhood development center.
This is a huge park. There are several shelters you can reserve for get togethers and events. Home to the Riparian Woodland Nature Trail. A great place to walk and observe, appreciate and enjoy nature. Trout fishing spots (stocked) as well as pond/lake fishing. Large RC car track (off road style). A fantastic place to take photo portraits, senior pictures, wildlife, and landscape photography. Highly recommend visiting!
I absolutely love this area. It’s very well kept and full of art and history. Parking is easy and no matter what time of day you are visiting, there’s always plenty of things for the whole family to do in the area. The best part, is the food—such a treat! Also, this area is very walkable, whether you’re grabbing a bite to eat, doing a little shopping, attending an event, or enjoying a show, you can park and walk. It’s a pretty safe area too, so even at night, it’s an easy walkable square.
Wonderful place to run, walk, rollerblade, or just have fun and play outside. Love this park! Very well kept. Bring the whole family to enjoy nature and the outdoors. The shelters are the perfect setup for family reunions or any size group gathering.

I only gave two stars because the grass and brush/bushes around the fountains are so overgrown that it was tough to sit on a blanket or in our folding chair to watch and enjoy the show. The big grassy area just east of the fountains is also overgrown and full of stickers.
