easy ride and hike trails, good all all ages, no washroom. I parked across the street. you may park near the other end of park near Leslie street and steeles. You may spot a deer near John Street Entrance. A ravine is there, ankle height.

Nice and well maintained trails in the city. We used to drive to 1-2 hours away to walk in the forest but don't have to anymore. Our fur-daughter loves your forest walk also. In 2022 they added two dog parks outside so our fidos can have more fun.

Beautiful outdoor space we had a great time at our pet Halloween costume contest huge success. Leash, free dog park for both big and small dogs is amazing and the different paths in the forest are serene and beautiful. Very lucky to be part of the Thornhill Woods community!

A visit to Sugarbush Heritage Park is like stepping into a serene oasis of untouched nature, where the beauty of the fall season truly shines. The colorful trees that surround the area paint a picturesque landscape with their vibrant autumn hues, creating a feast for the eyes. What makes this place exceptional is the peaceful atmosphere that envelops you, allowing for a profound connection with nature. Sugarbush Heritage Park is a hidden gem for those seeking tranquility and a chance to bask in the splendor of untouched natural beauty during the fall. I highly recommend it for a memorable and serene outdoor experience.

A beautiful park nestled into the quiet end of German Mills, surrounded by some of the most stunning homes.
A short walk here and you'd know immediately how peaceful it is. The sunsets here are some of the most stunning views you can get. The park is well maintained and is a delight for anyone seeking a good walk, hike, or a nice bike ride.

Local park with a nicely canopy covered walking/running/cycle trail. There are not many benches to sit other than the ones under the gazebo and one or two by the dog park.
Dog park could have been made larger considering the available space; but, neither the owners nor the dogs complain.
The trail is picturesque and wide, accommodating various uses and users at a same time. Moreover, since the tree canopy covers all of it, the ground is soft and well cushioned; which is a bonus for runners.

Hidden jam in the city. Nice wooded walking trail. The whole trail is covered under tall tree shades. This place also offers small playgrounds for the kids and nice big fenced area for leash free dog 🐕 park. Parking can be a bit hectic due to very limited spots.

Surprisingly crowed a winter day on 2023-01-29. The path is well beaten by foot traffic in spite of 20cm of snow on the flat. But still have more than enough room for snowshoeing if walking on the side. More interestingly, the snowshoeing trek is amazing in the Richmond Hill Golf course across Barthurst street.
A warm thank you to the Samaritan who has helped me to recover the snowshoes I forgot in the parking when I left. Without your quick thinking reaction, running after my car to notify, this would have been an expensive absent-minded blunder.

A very short loop, about 2km, across the creek from John. Pretty quiet on weekdays. Not a lot to see at this time of the year. Leaves were gone, the scenery was more like in winter. Too short a walk, but pleasant.

If you've driven along 407 and marveled at the fall colours in this beautiful patch of trees on the intersection of Bathurst and 407, being inside and walking the trails is a much more beautiful experience. The fall colours this year in 2022 are stunning all over and this place was blooming. Trails aren't very long but very enjoyable.

Lake to Lake Route - German Mills and Huntington Trails
York Region has connected this Lake to Lake Route from Lake Simcoe to Lake Ontario.
We started the trail at German Mills Settlers Park which is paved and leads to forest trails, a meadow that is being regenerated and the German Mills Creek. You can see the highway at the end of the hike. One also walks on sidewalks to connect to both trails.

Great urban park with a path for walks along the stream if you like being near water and the difference scenes the waterway gives. A few nice bridges. Good for a mild escape if you can't make it out of town to a larger park or wilderness.

This is our first time to walk here. It is part of Markham's Lake to Lake system which travels between Lake Simcoe to Lake Ontario (total of 121km). This portion is from Steeles Ave to Hwy 7 (4.2km) We enjoyed this warm Thanksgiving Monday weather to take a walk there. It was great to be outdoors and this route was not too busy with other walkers and bicycles. The trees are in the middle of transferring to fall colours so it should happen more during this week. There is a stream here along the route and places off the route to explore. I would like to continue walking along or riding this route in the near future...

It was a good choice! This trail was perfect for a family hike on weekend. It was not crowded and the loop was suitable for all levels. There was a bit of everything (including uphill, downhill, stairs, mud and paved roads). It was very easy to follow and the scenery was beautiful. Will come back again sometime!

Nice forest to hike. 2 km round trail, plus lots of side trails. This time of year it's a perfect place to see the 🍂🍁.

Great neighborhood walking trail. Although the trail isn't too big, it is a decent sized for families, biking, or even walking your dog. There are many paths that lead to the trail which makes it accessible from different areas. located next to the river, it can be a nice space to get in tune with nature and forget the city's worries
