the best place in wethersfield to relax in the summer, super close to old wethersfield main street, i usually get a pizza and relax with friends in our cars. it always changes depending on the tide and the weather but this place is amazing. so many good memories were made here. there’s always lots of cars so it feels super safe, even at night! have seen a lot of people fish here too.
A big surprise. Took a boat ride on slipaway tours. Excellent. Very nice area.
We come here almost exclusively for the swim area in the summer. There are a lot of good things to say about the swimming that's available, however it is noteworthy that the swimming area rules include: no splashing, no floaties, no yelling, no bringing in a pine cone or leaf or a stick into the water (1/2 of the perimeter is greenery anyway), no jumping while in the water, no throwing your kids in the water, no... Essentially no fun allowed. It's understandable to have some rules to maintain safety but the rules here have always been very over the top.
Went there recently on Wednesday morning to launch my boat for a ride on the river with my daughter and granddaughter. The park is not like when I lived in town years ago. There were some people sitting in their cars smoking cigarettes and I could smell marijuana. My wife went to use the portable toilet and it was just plain filthy. The sign for Cove Park is wooden and it is rotting and needs replacement, simply neglected. Also there is work being done under the bridge, with huge noisy equipment. Not what I was expecting. Will not be going there anytime soon to launch my boat.

I have been here several times to watch my grandson play with his little league baseball team at the baseball diamonds in this well kept, beautiful park in Wethersfield. The grounds are well groomed, there are plenty of close parking spaces, a great playground, a skate park, tennis courts, a lifeguard staffed swimming pond (which may need proof of Wethersfield residency to use), a soccer field, as ND a fenced in dog Park. I have enjoyed and visited this park many times. ( :
The Cove's sunsets offer the best & beautiful end of day 'nightcap'. Three years ago was my 1st discovery. I would bring my newly widowed mom. Now, I have to come alone...she loved it.
This place would be a 5 star but the bathrooms are nasty Porta. Def don't plan to spend much time here
I usually go here with my dog and bring her to the dog park. It's nice walking around the water as well.
Cute visitor gift shop and very nice museum with artifacts from historic Wethersfield and the Wethersfield Prison which is now closed. There is even an actual electric chair on exhibit. We visited Wethersfield today for scarecrows on Main which was awesome. Great fall event!
I remember going here as a kid with my Dad. This place is very peaceful and brings back good memories.
Beautiful park. Not really made for like kids, but if you do decide to bring your littlest ones be mindful of the open body of water.
Nice place clean but people said you catch a lot of fish there neither me or my brother caught anything and we are not beginning fishermen at all actually more advanced then the regular
I thought this park was nice. They definitely had boating docks that were secure plenty of space plenty of parking, picnic tables in the area and pretty friendly people were there that day nothing out of the ordinary the only reason for the three stars is that this was reviewed as a great place to catch fish, but I didn’t have any luck catching any fish
I been going to this park 4 years since my husband started playing softball i can say one of the best park I've ever been good for kids to play too

I love this place! Lots of history. Unique. Been the same since 1660s. Come and visit! There's restaurants too!
Had that beach sortive getaway type of feel, loved it and the kids enjoyed themselves. Great for a toddler seeing first boat not in the tub :)
No charge to enter but you may donate if you wish. Best place to find out all the activities going on and coming to old wethersfield.very friendly stuff
Keeney Memorial Cultural Center's beautiful Keeney Hall on 2nd floor was the venue for my daughter's amazing Quinceanero. The place by itself is gorgeous; with great accent pieces, nice floors, lighting, and a great bar area setup. The staff were great, very communicative and always ready and willing to lend a hand, offer ideas and help bring your event to life. A special shout out to Jill Fletcher for her flexibility and vision. Claudia Ale who is the event manager truly goes above and beyond, she's a complete professional, yet also very down to earth. Kevin is a hard worker, and was there throughout the event to make sure we had absolutely everything we needed throughout the event.
Always love stopping here when coming to visit the area. Now that we moved to the area we will be here more often! I'll have to post the photos of the bald eagle we saw. Overall great park!
Definitely a must visit place, specially when the lake is frozen. Best time to visit is Sunset time.
Very calm and peaceful place. Usually people just come here to park and hang out.
I like coming here for the history. They have a few houses next door dating back to the 1700's I believe and I find it so fascinating. There's also an old barn looking house right on the cove. Some people have their boats out here but nothing too crazy. It's really just a chill spot

I've always looked at the building from the outside but never went in. I really regret that. From going inside for the first time was really an experience, there is so much history you can learn of our town, or to have your memory kick in again. If you have the time and it's open I would recommend stopping by, it is free after all!

I love the place! It's a lovely, well-preserved historic building. It very pretty from the Main St. curb! But my favorite is the back parking lot where I used to walk my dog and watch my boys play basketball on the court!
The Cove is great if you have a boat, but limited for everything else. There are some empty fields that are great for sports (primarily soccer or little league baseball), but the Cove itself does not offer much.
Excellent small local museum
This place was one of many places in Old Wethersfield to be featured in the 2018 Hallmark movie "Christmas on Honeysuckle Lane". I'm watching it right now on the Hallmark Movie and Mysteries Channel. The other places include Comstock Ferre, Heirloom Market, Silas W. Robbins House, Aroma Bistro and the Webb Barn. The Hallmark Movie and Mysteries Channel is re-airing the film once every few days until at least Christmas.
Love this park. Beautiful clean and see all kinds of flowers butterflies dragonfly frog swan canaries blue bird robin red birds exc.
Went for "A taste of Wethersfield" fundraiser. The array of food was amazing and the taste was astronomical. Extremely well done with a silent auction as well.
Nice park with a summertime water feature. Dog friendly. Lots of Canadian Geese on the lower pond. One large white swan on the upper.
Nice cultural center. Can be rented for events such as Fairs, crafts and local art. Has parking but lot fills quickly (accommodates around 55 vehicles.
Thank you for the wonderful summer concert tonight in front of the Keeney Center. The Beatles tribute band was super and such a great evening to gather with friends and family. Thanks and looking forward to the other concerts this July!

There are some great historical exhibits inside here. We've been on the lantern tours two years in a row (around Halloween time) and can recommend them. Get tickets early as they will sell out.
