Small local pocket park. Undeveloped hiking trails. Very nice experience.

The woods are relatively close to my house. I have literally driven by thousands of times. One day I decided to stop. I fell in love...with the trails, the woods, the local peanut stone, the painted rocks left by hikers. I see something new every time I come. I now visit frequently. Definitely worth the visit. It's a hidden gem!
A hike for moderate adventure seekers. Several places have ropes because the trails are so steep. After this trail you might want to check out the span of the Henry Hudson Trail that is in the highlands it's beautiful.

What a commanding view this place has. The original owner must have scouted this property out. I think this house was built in the mid 1890's after all the choice lots were sold,
I love this museum
While not a huge parcel like the nearby Hartshorne Woods, this is a hilly woodland gem offering several marked trails with good elevation changes. You are usually in sight of bordering homes and apartment complexes, but there are some relatively isolated portions. We enter at the trailhead at the end of East Washington, but there are several trailheads along Ocean Boulevard. Once inside, suggest you take the Overhill Trail (includes a brief steep scramble/climb) for some terrific panoramic views.
Had the best time I went to see a trio of musians play. A very interesting and cool place, the views from the porch are spectacular!
An enjoyable and informative visit! Our docent was very knowledgeable. The Strauss Mansion is a gem undergoing painstaking renewal. The woodwork in the foyer is remarkable, as are the artifacts throughout the mansion. Be sure to venture to the top of the turret to take in breathtaking views of the town and the bay!
