Vadakkunnathan Temple, is a beautiful temple, right at the centre of the city. The temple has large courtyard full of greenery and amidst that are the still well preserved temple structures, with wooden carvings and murals. Having a Kerala style architecture, the Shiva temple is one of the oldest in Kerala.
Ancient temple of Lord Siva that Lord Parashurama prayed at. This is also a unique temple where the Sivalingam is made of ghee and the main prasadam and offering is also ghee.
Dress code is required, and while mobile phones are allowed, taking photos is not. A must do when in and around Thrisssur.
We went with my friends around 7.50am. In night sharp 7 pm to 7.45pm they close the nada for some pooja. They open after that and remain open only until 8.20pm . So if you plan to visit vadakunathan temple avoid 7 to 7.45 pm.
Shiva lingam is covered with ghee from years of ghee abhishekam. That is the speciality of this place. Temple is vast and large open spaces are there inside. Can spent some time peacefully here.
Steeped in history and architecture, the Vadakkunnathan Temple is a must-visit destination in Thrissur, Kerala. This ancient temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is a masterclass in traditional Kerala design, with intricate murals and carvings that takes you to a bygone era. The serene atmosphere and stunning surroundings make for a truly unforgettable experience. A true gem of India's cultural heritage, the Vadakkunnathan Temple is a place of beauty and peace.
Sree Vadakkumnathan Temple is a place I've always wanted to visit, and I recently had the chance to go to its entrance. Although I didn't enter this time, I definitely plan to on my next visit. The area around the temple offers a serene ambiance and calmness amidst the bustling city center, providing a divine escape. It's like a glimpse into the past, with history and culture majestically enduring even in the modern era. This temple is a must-visit for anyone seeking tranquility and a connection to the rich heritage of Thrissur.
Vadakkunatha temple is one of the most famous temple in Thrissur District of Kerala state. It is one among the five most famous Shiva temple in kerala now. Others are Thaliparambu, Thrippangottu, Ettumanoor and Vaikom Shiva temples.
This temple is now famous as Vadakkunathan (Shiva) temple, but there are two more main deities in this temple, Lord Sankaranarayanan and Lord Sreeraman all are provided with separate sanctums inside Nalambalam.
Deities: Sreekovil (sanctum) of Lord Sankaranarayanan is in the middle with circular shape. Lord Shiva is placed in the right/north side Sreekovil also in circular shape and Lord Sreeraman in the left/south side Sreekovil with square shape. All these Sreekovils are facing towards west is a peculier worshipping system of this temple. Also Godess Parvathy is placed in the same sanctum of Shiva in the opposite side towards east. Interestingly we can see these deities are placed in such a way that the temple is established as part of Integrating and accomodating the two strong Subdivisions of hindu religion, the Saiva and Vaishnav cultures. Right side Shiva, left side Sreeraman and in middle Sankaranarayanan the god of half Shiva half Vishnu identity.
Subdeities: Ganapathi is placed as a Subdeity in another small sanctum inside Nalambalam itself.
There are somany other Subdeities placed in this temple outside of Nalambalam, viz. Gosalakrishnan, Dharmasathavu, Simhodaran, Parasuraman, Nandikeswaran, Vedavyasan etc.
It is believed that the body of Shri. Sankaracharya swamy was cremated near this temple which is marked discretly with some symbols and devotees are praying there also.
Praying method: It is slightly complicated to know and follow the location and sequence of praying to all the deities in this temple. As per Devaswam board guidelines, the deities inside Nalambalam need to be prayed 18 times (Shiva, Parvathy, Sreerama, 3times each, Sankaranarayanan- 5times, Ganapathi-4times.) in a predefined sequence. The prayers to be performed for subdeities, pictures and places outside Nalambalam are around 20. This includes a unique place known as Sreemoolastanam outside the temple wall which is identified as the first locatin to begin praying.
Other uniqueness: The temple performing Art, Koothu was very famous in this temple and the Koothambalam is the largest one of it's kind in kerala.
Devotees are permitted to enter to the temple premise through west and east entrance (gopuram) only.
There is no festivals for this temple.
The famous Thrissur pooram is celebrated in this temple premise, but it is the festival of mainly two Godess of nearby Paramekkavu and Thiruvambadi temples along with Dieties of nearby small temples. The Dieties of Vadakkunathan temple don't have any participation in Pooram festival but silently witnessing and blessing the devotees.
However the Pooram festival is being celebrated in and around the Vadakkunathan temple, it is considered as the festival of Vadakkunathan temple also.
Thrissur pooram:
Thrissur pooram is celebrated in the Pooram day of malayalam month Medam (April-May). The main attractions of Pooram festival is given below:
1) Procession from Madam: In a procession with elephants, the Thiruvambadi Bhagavathi is brought to Sreemoolastanam and entering to Vadakkunathan temple through west gopuram.
2) Elanjitharamelam: In a procession with elephants, the Paramekkavu Bhagavathi is brought to Vadakkunathan temple through east gopuram and performing the famous Elanjitharamelam.
3) Exchanging of colourfull elephants' umbrellas: Godess Thiruvambadi and Paramekkavu are Standing face to face in the procession with elephants and displaying different design/ colour of elephants' umbrellas alternately.
4) Fire works show: A very beautiful fire works show is demonstrated during late night of pooram festival day.
Location: Vadakkunathan temple is in the heart of Thrissur town surounded by a big maidan known as Thekkinkadu and a circular road. As it is in the centre of town, all facilities are available nearby.
Vadakkumnathan Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, renowned for its classical Kerala architecture and rich history, believed to date back over 1,000 years. The temple's sprawling complex houses several shrines, with the main deity, Lord Shiva, depicted in the form of a huge Shivalinga.

The temple is also famous for its mural paintings, some of which are over 400 years old, and the extensive use of wooden carvings. The annual Thrissur Pooram festival, celebrated here, is one of the largest and most vibrant temple festivals in Kerala, attracting thousands of devotees and tourists. Vadakkumnathan Temple is a significant cultural and religious landmark, reflecting the spiritual heritage and architectural grandeur of Kerala. The temple is not only a place of worship but also a repository of history, art, and tradition, making it an essential part of Kerala's cultural identity.

beyond its well-known status and grand festivals, has several lesser-known aspects that add to its mystique and historical significance:

1.Mummified Shivalinga

The Shivalinga in the main sanctum is said to be covered in layers of ghee, accumulated over centuries from continuous offerings. Remarkably, despite being exposed to tropical temperatures, the ghee does not melt, which is considered a divine phenomenon by devotees.

2. Architectural Secrecy

The exact date of the temple's construction remains a mystery. Although it is believed to be over 1,000 years old, there are no definitive records pinpointing its origin, adding to its enigmatic aura.

3.Hidden Chamber

Legend has it that there is a hidden chamber within the temple complex that has never been opened. This chamber is believed to contain invaluable treasures and ancient texts, sparking curiosity and intrigue among historians and devotees alike.

4.Spiritual Significance

Unlike most temples where the deity faces east, the main deity at Vadakkumnathan Temple faces west, which is relatively rare and holds unique spiritual significance.

5. Art and Mural Restoration

The temple's murals, some of the oldest and finest examples of traditional Kerala mural art, were restored using ancient techniques to preserve their authenticity. This painstaking process involved the use of natural pigments and traditional methods, ensuring that the murals retained their original grandeur.

6. Environmental Harmony

The temple complex is designed to be in harmony with nature. The vast courtyard is home to several ancient trees, including a massive banyan tree, which adds to the temple's serene ambiance and ecological balance.

7. Cultural Repository

Beyond religious significance, the temple also serves as a cultural hub. It has a rich collection of ancient manuscripts and historical documents that provide invaluable insights into the region's past.

The temple situated in the heart of Thrissur city, it is one of the oldest temples in South India. The main diety is Lord Shiva. There are temples devoted to Goddess Parvathy, Lord Rama, Lord Ayyappa & Ganesha etc. We can even walk around the temple premises and enjoy the pleasant environment around. The temple is situated in a lush green maidan called Thekkinkadu Maidan. The city of Trichur surrounds the maidan. Huge crowds gather here for the pooram festival every year. Be there once in a life time.

ALERT... Whoever wants to go to this place SHOULD NOT PARK your vehicle in the space opposite to the park near the trees. Last week, I went there and parked there and some thief BROKE THE GLASS of my car and took away my LAPTOP which was safely placed below the seat. I have made a complaint to the police. But they couldn't do anything about it, as there is NOT A SINGLE CCTV facing the Vadakkechira or the parking space.

What had happened to me, should not happen to anyone else. That's why I am posting this review. So everyone.. please be alert and park your vehicle anywhere nearby, where there is a CCTV. But NEVER park in the space opposite to the park near the trees.
Self gods presents that means swayamboo one of the great and powerful deity 'sree mahavishnu 'devotee's all desires will achieve

Vadakkechira has a small lake and a few boats. But the lake is not that clean. We didn't go for a boating there. It's a nice place to hang out with friends, to take some photos. The lighting is nice, so visit in the late evening. Sunset view was also good.
Calm and quite temple in the middle of city. Had a beautiful banyan tree to give cool atmosphere to the whole temple. There is also a wedding hall which can include some 100-150 people. But the parking is limited, u can only park some 10-12 cars at a time.
Very nice temple with good ambience. peacefull atmosphere . We can sit under big baniyan tree.
Calm temple

The Vadakkumnathan Temple is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva in Thrissur, in the Thrissur district of Kerala, India. The temple is a classical example of the architectural style of Kerala and has one monumental tower on each of the four sides in addition to a koothambalam. Mural paintings depicting various scenes from the Mahabharata can be seen inside the temple. Once again in this temple too, as a respect you need to wear a mundu (traditional kerela wear) and go bear chest. We happened to visit in the evening so missed the look of it in the day light. Photography inside the temple is strictly prohibited. Managed to take a video out of the temple.

Poonkunnam Shiva temple is one of the oldest temples in Kerala.

Such calmness amidst the city buzz. A small well maintained garden (കൃഷ്ണൻ്റെ പൂങ്കാവനം) & varieties of large trees, stone paved paths add much to the divine atmosphere.

This temple is located in the heart of Poonkunnam. There's a large ground in front of this temple.
I am here at an occasion of Thrissur Pooram…on year 2023..
Paramekkavu Bagavathi Temple is one of the largest Bagavathi temples in Kerala..
Which is located in Thrissur City.
Sakthan Thampuran ordained the temples into two groups, namely "Paramekkavu side" and "Thiruvambady side" for Thrissur Pooram…which is the biggest festival in South India.
The temple has a wonderful temple structure, this temple is considered to be more than 1000 years old….
The vadakkumnathan temple, which is situated in the heart of the Thrissur city is nothing but an architectural splendour, a perfect depict of Kerala’s rich culture and heritage… it attracts a large number of devotees and tourists.

Lord Shiva is the major deity of the temple, along with Parvati, Ganapati, Sankaranarayana and Sri Rama (Vishnu). it also has four identical gopurams on four directions respectively. There is a koothambalam inside, which is used for staging Koothu, Nangyar Koothu, Koodiyattam etc.

The Thrissur pooram is another captivating feature of the temple, which happens in the Thekkinkadu maidhanam every year. It is considered as poorangalude pooram. The main attractions of Pooram are panchavadhyam, Elanjithara melam, Kudamattam, Vedikettu and so on. Aanakotta, where we can see many elephants is one another major attraction.

The beauty of the mural paintings, the majestic craftsmanship, the well maintained surroundings, the lush greenery, all add up to its serene ambience.
This temple is a must-visit destination in Thrissur.
An absolute must visit temple. It’s a very big temple complex with greenery all around. Just a look at the gaint trees will make you aware of the temple’s antiquity. The temple is one of the finest examples of Malabar architecture and awe inspiring murals painted with vegetable colours. We can easily spend a couple of hours looking at the murals depicting various ‘Puranas’. Don’t miss the evening ‘Arti’ (soon after sunset) and morning 4.15 AM darshan where Sri Wadakkunathan abhishekam with ghee is performed. I pray that I visit this temple again and again🙏
Sree Vadakkunnathan Temple is believed to be the oldest temple in Kerala which is around 1000 years old. This temple is one of the most prominent pilgrimage centre in Kerala…This Temple is built in the traditional architectural style of Kerala. So Beautiful, Well Maintained, Spacious, Deities are Class, Hanuman is Imposing, Colourful Place for Bliss.
Five months ago, I had the incredible opportunity to visit the Shakthan Thampuran Palace in Thrissur, and it was a journey back in time that I'll always treasure. While I'm not sure if it's open for visitors right now due to ongoing renovation works, I can certainly share the magic I experienced.

1. Delving into History
The palace, which was the home of Shakthan Thampuran, a significant ruler, was built in the late 18th century. It's a unique blend of Dutch and traditional Kerala architectural styles. The steep roofs, slender wooden pillars, and the intricate carvings on the wooden walls are a beautiful reflection of the past.

2.Practical Information
When I visited, the entrance fee was quite reasonable, and the palace was open from 10 AM to 5 PM. It's located right in the heart of Thrissur, making it easily accessible to travelers.

3.Hidden Treasures:
Inside the palace, I was greeted by an array of artifacts that transported me to a time of luxury and grandeur. The royal thrones, antique furniture, and ornate lamps offered a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of Shakthan Thampuran. The collection of ancient weaponry was particularly fascinating, giving me a sense of the history and battles of the era.

The highlight of the visit was undoubtedly the splendidly preserved chariot. This colossal wooden chariot, adorned with intricate carvings and vibrant paintings, was awe-inspiring. It played a central role in the renowned Thrissur Pooram festival, and its preservation is a testament to the craftsmanship and cultural heritage of the region.

As for whether it's open now, I'd recommend checking with local authorities or websites for the most up-to-date information, given the ongoing renovation works. If it is accessible, I wholeheartedly encourage you to explore this incredible piece of history. The Shakthan Thampuran Palace is a time capsule that allows you to immerse yourself in the grandeur of Thrissur's past and the architectural marvels that have stood the test of time. Don't miss the opportunity to experience this captivating heritage, which will leave you with a deep appreciation for Kerala's history and culture.
I recently visited Vadakkumnatha Temple in Thrissur and was overwhelmed with the peace and sense of serenity the temple emanates. From the moment you enter the temple complex, you can feel the positive energy the place has. The whole atmosphere of the temple is filled with respect and reverence and the architecture of the temple is beautiful with ornate carvings and sculptures. The temple has a large number of devotees who come to seek blessings from the presiding deity and the priests are very knowledgeable and helpful. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend visiting this temple if you are in Thrissur.
Vadakkumnathan temple is located at the bustling heart of the city, and I must say it's a truly unique and exceptional place. Despite the constant hustle and bustle of traffic just outside its gates, stepping into the temple felt like entering a different world altogether.

The serene and peaceful atmosphere within the temple was astonishing, providing a stark contrast to the noise and commotion of the city. It was as if the chaos of the outside world ceased to exist the moment I crossed the threshold. The feeling of calmness that enveloped the temple was truly remarkable, making it a perfect refuge for those seeking a peaceful escape from urban life.

The temple's ability to create such a tranquil environment in the midst of a busy city is a testament to its significance. It's a place where one can find solace, reflect, and connect with the divine without any external distractions. I highly recommend this unique temple to anyone looking for a spiritual and serene experience right in the center of the city.
The zoo has a 2 hour worth seeing. Not many varieties considering the zoo in thiruvananthapuram, but those animals are in more numbers. The archeological museum is also an attraction.
Love you
The beautiful sunset in the world is here. Nice and calm ambience.
Vadakkumnathan Temple is an awe-inspiring testament to Kerala's architectural heritage and spiritual significance. Having visited this temple multiple times, I've been consistently enchanted by its timeless beauty. The meticulous maintenance, lush lawns, and verdant trees enhance the temple's tranquility. If you find yourself near Thrissur, a visit to this temple is a must for a serene and peaceful experience.

The temple's architectural marvel showcases Kerala's distinctive style, featuring monumental towers on all four sides and a graceful kuttambalam. Vadakkumnathan Temple is most renowned for the grandeur of the "Thrissur Pooram Festival," an annual celebration held in September. This festival is a mesmerizing blend of caparisoned elephants, colorful parasols, and rhythmic percussion music, uniting spirituality and culture in an unforgettable spectacle.

You can conveniently reach the temple on foot from Thrissur Railway Station (1.5 km) or Thrissur KSRTC bus stand (1 km). The Thrissur Pooram Festival is a vibrant and grand tribute to Lord Vadakkunnathan, an event that encapsulates the rich cultural and religious essence of Kerala. It's no wonder that Thrissur Pooram is celebrated as one of India's largest and most famous temple festivals.
I think Kerala state archeologic department and Kerala tourism department killing one of the iconic destinations of Kerala. This place has been closed around corona pandemic and they never reopen. Now there is a board on the gate which mentioning renovation work on progress due that visitors not allowed. Actually there is no working operation on progress for the last one year. Very bad 🥴based on 2/10/2023
Nice temple🥰 I wants to add an information to the visitors - try to avoid pants during inside visiting time
Thrissur (formerly the Trichur Zoo) is a 13.5-acre (5.5 ha) zoo that opened in 1885 in a small area called Chembukkavu, in the heart of Thrissur City, Kerala, India. It is one of the oldest zoos in the country and is home to a wide variety of animals, reptiles, and birds. The zoo compound includes a natural history museum and an art museum that showcase the social and cultural heritage of the region. The Thrissur Zoo is 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) from the Thrissur City center and is open from 10:00 AM till 5:15 PM, except on Mondays. Being one of the two Zoological Parks in the state of Kerala, it sees many visitors on a regularly. Still and video cameras are allowed in the park for a small fee.
The Zoo has got nice trees and empty cages. Not well maintained like other zoos Thiruvananthapuram, bangalore, Mysore, Byculla mumbai,Chennai Kevadia gujarat has much better zoos. The staff is really great they are very helpful in assisting you with names of different trees. But then the ticket price is also just ₹20 for an adult and ₹40 for a family of 2A+2C. It's very close to the temple hardly 2kms.There are a huge number of deers.Dont think the Zoo is busy at all.
Good place for share free time. Nice pond. Pathways are around the pond . Boat journey is also available here. When the lights are illuminated at night are more beautiful. Inside the pond water foundations

#vadakkechira
It's an old zoo.

Lion, leopard and tiger were there in carnivorous section and many other species are there.
Some of the cages are empty now.

₹20 only for ticket.
So a good place for visit with family and children when u come to Thrissur.
Children should be more excited when they see these animals in real for the first time.
Now renovation work is going on. Better please check before plan for a visit. It was a old items and heritage related things are available. Located just opposite to bus stand. Also nearby ground is there. Now it was not in open condition because of renovation work.
Every time I visit there occur changes in the museum.. both good and bad. Good one is there are tiled walkways, rest area, clock room, drinking water counter. Bad change is that number of animals and birds are decreasing. Museum premises are kept very much clean whether it is the places reachable by public or the cages of animals. Beautification of garden is done and well maintained. Though animals are less in numbers I prefer this as a must visit place. As there are art museum and immense seating facilities., nature friendly in between the city. You get so many seniaric places to photograph . So its worthy.
The place is calm and good for families, but the park and near by trees are not well maintained. The park is not clean and the equipments will damage at the earliest due to lack of maintenance and cleaning

Nowhere in India can you find a beach like this heavenly paradise. So beautiful. It is beautiful to see children playing in the evening.
This temple of Bhagavathi which is considered a sacred place with a dress code ( sari for women and Dhoti and upper garment for men). Men without a dhoti can go up to ,a certain place and get glimpse of the presiding deity. this is considered one of vthe very important and spiritual places of Thrissur which is the cultural capital of Kerala. It will be a treat to the eye and ears to watch 15 bedecked elephants standing to the tunes of "pancha vadyam " ( Traditional musical galore) inside the temple complex later move on to face 15 bedecked elephants of another temple in a nearby ground exchanging colorful Umbrellas during the annual Pooram Festival which comes in April -May every year

Characterized by a  simple blend of native architecture and European design elements, it is not a highly embellished palace of  north Indian states. Nor does it look huge and grand in style. Nope.  The distinctive aspect of  palaces in SW Indian state of Kerala is its ''elegance in simplicity.''  They are  impressive, inspiring  and cool to our eyes  as they are in sync with native culture and  terrain, ghat area that gets lots of rain during the monsoons.  The slopping  tiled roof and gables at certain places  and elaborate use of wood in the form of rafters, pillars, beams and cross beams, etc.,  make them stand apart. The masonry walls are thick that  gives  the structure a strong base. The extended  sloping roof over the windows, balcony, etc., gives extra protection to the walls as well as to the wooden structure in he rainy seasons.  Set in the midst of a garden with trees and plants all around, the interiors are cool.   As it was wont in the past and also in the present,  this palace was designed and  built based on Vastsu Sastras.
A very divine and powerful temple, staff are cooperative. I don't know Malayalam. But never felt that as a stopping point in performing Pooja and other work. Locals are also very cooperative. Spl. For someone who is looking for a blessing for a baby. Many of them have been blessed by babies 💕 via lord Mahavishnu and the priest, with such a dedication they worship and serve

Spent some quality time there with family. The palace or the museum itself is not preserved well. The ground floor is really disappointing. But the first floor is worth a visit. I enjoyed the time I spent there. It was good.
This palace has displayed many ancient things of Kerala. Parking is spacious. Entry tickets are required. Even photos using mobile phone needs ticket and chargeable. Place is calm, neat and clean. Staffs inside this palace are helpful.
Got a chance to have a glimpse into the history of old kerala
Beautiful palace and it has wonderful artefacts. There is a garden and lake beside the palace,The tickets are relatively cheap and a camera ticket is required for additional 20/-
There is sufficient parking in front of the palace. The timings are from 9.30am to 4.30pm. There is also lunch break from 1-2pm. The palace is historic and beautiful. People interested in knowing about our history and culture should visit this place.
The palace is quiet and very serene.

It has been tastefully remodelled. It's best to go in the evening when the lights and fountain are turned on. Peddle boating is now available for both two and four ppl. There is a snack kiosk inside. With ample seating, this is a great place to spend time with family and friends.
One of the 108 Shiva temples mentioned in the Shivalaya Stothram. The dieties are Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvathy, Lord Vigneshwara, Ayyappa and Sree Narayana and the Naga/ snake Gods. Pradhosha pooja and Ayilya pooja are the important rituals attended by many devotees every month. An interesting belief is that if a garland made of lemon is offered to Lord Vigneshwara on a persons birth star for 7 months, that persons marriage will be fixed, within that period.

This is a temple pond attatched with the sakthan thampuran museum or palace. It was totally destroyed by the careless approach of devaswam board and government towards vadakechira. And now kalyan group donated their csr fund and developed/ maintained this place so good. Government has no role in the current view of vadakechira. Boating is privided there at minimal cost. Its a quiet place to sit and relax in the evening time.
Proud of Thrissur. Near north bus stand. Recently renewed the place. Nice place for time spending. Cool place in the town. Close to sakthan thampuran palace. Have parking spaces nearby. The evening has nice colourful lighting. We can enjoy ourselves with a pedal boat. The best time for the visitors is in the evening. #thrissur #outing #relax

Sree Shiva Temple is the very old famous temple situated near punkunam junction in the Thrissur city. The temple is very beautiful with Kerala style of architecture.

The main deity is lord Shiva and other deities are goddess Parvati and sree parthasarathy. Every day morning and evening deeparadhana and poojas are in the temple. The temple is maintained very neatly and the calm and quiet atmosphere for peaceful prayer and worship god.

A very beautiful Shiva temple with spacious ground for parking , functions and celebrations
A spacious temple courtyard set in a serene surroundings.. A calm place of worship.. Lord Shiva facing west... Located near Viyyoor Bridge.. & very close to the Thrissur - Shoranur highway... Om Nama:Sivaaya...
A Shiva Temple located in a very scenic and peaceful location. Praying in such serene and quite atmosphere is quite a blissful experience
Good place. Can see easily from the road
It's a well maintained shiva temple.
Great temple. It's in a residential area
The front of the temple has parking facility. However the entry to the temple from the road is not smooth. Badly placed slabs and uneven area.
PS: the custom of men taking their shirt off before entering the temple is prevalent here. I haven't seen this practice at the manapuram shiva temple, Aluva
Calm place in the township of Thrissur
Beautiful temple to visit
Very good ambience
It's very close to Main Thrissur Town near to Punkunnam
Plenty of Carparking facilities for the devotees to come and park
No much rush we can offer our prayers silently
Lord Mahavishnu is the main deity here along with Devi and Lord Ganapathy
This temple is close to my residence.
Siva is the main deity. There are 'upadevata's(sub deities) Ganapathi , Bhadrakali, Brahmarakshass and Sarpakkavu. There is perfect peaceful and blissful ambience . The temple is surrounded by trees. The 'pradakshina vazhi'(circular path around a temple to perform the ritual of revolving around the temple) is stone paved, wide and neat. There are different offerings here at different rates which exhibited in a board. Temple is well run. There is parking ground in the compound.
Though God is everywhere, the ambience of a temple help us to bring ourselves into a direct meditative conversation with him/her. This temple is one best place for that.
An excellent place of worship for Hindus. The temple has ample inside space and a vast ground adjoining the NH66.

Fantastic and wonderful
Visiting the Palace-turned-museum was a real treat. The tickets to enter are 30 Rs per person. The exhibits inside were a treat for any museum or history buff. The interiors and the vibe really created an ambience that could transport you back into time. The heritage garden was beautiful as well, I only wish the whole property was maintained with a little more care.
