Great baseball facilities

Nice little splash park for the kids.

My son went there for a picnic with his friends and a teacher!
They were having fun😝

Great place to visit. Opening hours are different per season ( June to August 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM). Read information there to get good understanding on how they work and how the fish cycle are happening there.
Seeing Salmon jumping from place to place was amazing. River views from there shows the beautiful nature of BC. Walk around the bridge over the river and you will never regret it.

Open 8 am to 8 pm from June to August, the Capilano River Hatchery is a great place to stop to learn about the salmon migration process. The architecture is very Japanese and the plaques and explanations at the hatchery have English, French, and Japanese inscriptions. The main salmon migration happens in October to November, but you’ll definitely be able to see some of the salmon behind the glass and even some of them jumping to get to the next part of the water. Really interesting to learn about the process and fish enthusiasts will enjoy watching the fishes jumping. Lots of parking spaces and there are picnic tables and even a fun bridge structure to explore more of the surrounding areas from the parking lot.

100000% Worth it! Wish I could go back and do it again. The views, the rush, the fun was amazing! Cannot stress this enough, Max, Stan and Cole were amazing. Staff like this will make the experience 100% better! Thank you gentlemen and thank you team Grouse! Cannot wait to come back!

Love the Grouse Grind! The latest improvements are great- enhancement without changing its character. Had a great walk up recently. Was disappointed with the hike in price for the gondola down; now $25. Tried to do it online ( to get a $5 discount) but it wouldn't work and I wasted 45 mins trying, then lining up to buy a ticket. Apart from that I loved it, as always.

Last time I passed by the hatchery it was during a walk from Cleveland Dam and we unfortunately missed them before they closed for the day. Well we finally redeemed this. I haven’t been here in years so this was a throwback from when I was a kid. Parking was plentiful even though it was a very beautiful weekend. There is a lot of information on the process of growing the fry to release. Even though it isn’t high season we still caught a glimpse of a fish using the fish ladder that you can see through the glass.
The hatchery is a must do for a family or anyone interested in the process. The area has many pretty stops in the area with views of the Capilano River and places you can sit and reflect!

Plenty of recreational activities. With its breathtaking beauty and diverse amenities, it's no surprise it earns a solid five-star rating.

Nice place for walking and enjoying nature

Awesome Park in mid-lower Lonsdale. It's usually not too busy here either, which gives the opportunity for a nice time in the park enjoying whatever you do to relax outdoors. Parents!:
This park also has great, wide, flat biking paths with grass on either side, which is ideal for learning to ride. Or other rolling activities suitable for the little ones.

I went to this looking for outdoor activities I could do with a stroller. There was a lot of information to read and it was cool seeing the baby fish. I don’t think you could spend that much time there though , but it’s a good quick stop.

The best part was reaching the top of the rock and seeing the amazing view. I felt a rush of adrenaline and excitement as I walked on the rock, which was a bit dangerous but also fun!

Went on a wrong time. October is the right time to go. But the view wasn’t that bad! But recommending to go around October to see salmons.

Great spot for a day visit, walk up the BMC trail in about 3 hours or take the gondola. Great views of Vancouver from up top.

This is a hiking trail near the Deep Bay Park, which is about 2 kilometers long and about 2 hours round-tip. It is not difficult to hike, and there are many wooden steps. There are many creeks and small waterfalls along the way. The towering trees stand in the mountains, and the forest air is very fresh.
After 40 minutes up the mountain, you can reach a large rocky outcrop known as Quarry Rock (also known as Grey Rock in some hiking books). Here you can enjoy the scenic views of the mountains around Belcarra and cities in the distance. At the foot is the Deep Bay, where there are large ships and many moving kayaks on the ocean.

Close to gas station🍷

Good for hiking and chilling place for new comers

Hello lovelies,
About Quarry Rock I would say it's a nice and easy trail to hike and to walk your dogs. As soon as you get up there you'll see a very gorgeous view which is spectacular and breathtaking 😍
It took us 40 min to get up there and 35 min to get back down to the street.
Try it and enjoy a healthy day 😉

Nice easy out and back hike, with gorgeous views on a clear day. The trail was very well marked and there were a lot of people on the trail: hiking, running and dog walking.
Dogs are allowed on this trail, and in some sections they do not need to be on leash.
Definitely check out "Honey Doughnuts" after the hike if you have time, they have such good doughnuts 😍

Always a pretty walk, any time of year! Through, Victoria Park, or on the Green Belt. Great for picking up chestnuts for decor, picnics, walkies🐕🚶🌰 Nice cut through the city, Extends to both sides of Lonsdale. With the Cenotaph on the East side. Picnic tables spread out on the West side. Grass, old trees...☺️

Beautiful hike that’s not too difficult, kid friendly. It can be very crowded as it very popular. Takes about an hour and half.

So much beautiful art from incredibly talented Indigenous artists !!

Remembrance Day 2023, photos by Farhad Rahgozar
In Canada, November 11th marks Remembrance Day, a solemn occasion dedicated to honoring the courage, sacrifices, and contributions of Canadian veterans and armed forces personnel who valiantly served their nation. On this significant day, Canadians unite in remembrance, acknowledging the profound significance of those who bravely defended our country's values, freedoms, and the pursuit of peace. Through poignant ceremonies, reflective moments of silence, and the symbolic wearing of poppies, the nation comes together to pay heartfelt tribute to those who served and continue to serve, ensuring their valor and dedication are never forgotten.

It is free to enter and wander through this facility. It was interesting to see the fish ladder, both outside next to the river and from the underground viewing area. There were plenty of posters providing information about the hatchery and different salmon species. A great place to learn about Canada's native salmon, their life cycle and to observe them up close. There were toilets available. We walked up to the hatchery from the Suspension Bridge park, 20 minutes, accurately predicted by Google!

Visited the Capilano River Hatchery on a weekday in October. It wasn't busy and there was plenty of parking available. Inside there is a small exhibition of the salmon hatching process, which is showing its age but gets the point across nonetheless. The most interesting item is the salmon ladder viewing area where you get to see salmon leaping. Outside you can enjoy views of the gorge and the bottom of the dam. The nearby trails afford great views along the river.

Beautiful pool, nice walking trail for people and dogs.

It was a nice, easy short hike with a
stunning view at the top on a clear day... Excellent trail for family with kids......Trail was tight in a few spots....busy trail, crowded on weekends... Limited parking at Deep Cove main parking lot. Please practice #LNT leave no trace

an easy and extremely delightful hike. about 40min to go up (2.2km) and 30min to come down. the view is breathtaking.

A great pit stop / resting spot after visiting the Cleveland dam. Went during the weekday so it wasn’t as busy and was able to see lots of salmon running up the river. The facility is very clean, good layout and very informative. Good history on the importance of salmon and the BC Fishery. Lots of parking, wheelchair accessible and has a picnic area.

Great atmosphere, quality works of art in a vibrant commercial area

Our kids absolutely loved the Grouse ziplines. They loved the fact that some are over the water. They saw the bears and said the views are spectacular. They also raved about the guides. We'll be back for sure.

Was a ton of fun! Went in the summer with clear skies. View of Vancouver was amazing. Guides were great too! There were 5 zip lines but two are very leisurely. Make sure you bullet for the last one or you might get stuck! The worst part was no water for the two hour tour. I hope they change that in the future. The zip lines aren’t in the shade and we felt like we had heat exhaustion by the end of it.

Highly recommended!! You have to try this! So much fun!!

We had the pleasure and delight to have Isaac and his counter partner (so sorry, missed his name!). They were outstanding in their presentation, patience, and professionalism. It was so much fun. I would rate higher than 5 if possible.

I visited this exhibit on a whim. There are some astounding art pieces here. The staff were extra friendly and super helpful.
Would recommend everyone see what they have.

Breathtaking views. Great for a decent hike (not in flip flops...). Educational and entertaining programs (most are free) like birds of prey, lumberjacks or the bears.

Great park especially if you have a little one who runs; it's somewhat tucked away. It's pretty peaceful here too.

Have a wonderful time hiking at Lynn Valley Part. There are many great spots perfectly for picnicking with your family. Not too crowded and you could take the bus from downtown Vancouver roughly 60 mins.

2023 Summer
Be aware!
We recently came here based on the reviews and pictures of hiking trails/waterfall/woods etc. (Located in Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge/Ecology Center nearby).
This place is a huge open baseball field next to Lynn Valley community Recreation Center/garden/playground and Lynn Valley Elementary School.

My teenage son loved it! Dropped him off at base of mountain and he was able to navigate himself up to top of mountain and get into proper group. He reported that the staff were super nice and helpful. Was the highlight of our trip to Vancouver. No injuries and lots of great photos. Would recommend it.

Beautiful scenic hike, absolutely loved the challenging track. Although the hike is not very long but it is certainly one which will get you work hard to reach the top. Not to mention, the view from the top is breathtakingly beautiful. Also got to see the grizzly bears, they were the best part of the entire trip. Highly recommend early morning hikes if you want to catch the bears & enjoy the morning tranquility.

Incredible view from the top of the Grouse mountain.
I took an elevator to get to the middle of the mountain, because otherwise it would take two hours and it didn't seem to be safe, cause it is quite steep.
Beware that tickets for non-Canadians for an elevator until 6.30-7pm are 80 CAD which is quite insane. I took the ticket after 6.30 for 25 CAD.
From there on I walked to the top of the mountain. It wasn't hard to get to the top, but it was a bit scary to go down, as the road is covered with little stones, and it is quite steep, so it is easy to fall.

The Grouse Grind is a popular hiking trail located on the North Shore of Vancouver, Canada. It is known for its steep climb and is often referred to as the "Mother Nature's Stairmaster". The trail is 2.9 kilometers long, and it gains an elevation of 853 meters. The trail starts at the base of Grouse Mountain and ends at the mountain's peak.
The trail is well-maintained and is open for hiking from May to October. During the hiking season, the trail is popular amongst locals and tourists alike. The trail is marked with poles and plaques at each kilometer, which assists hikers to track their progress.
The hike itself is very challenging and requires a good level of fitness. Hikers should come prepared with sturdy shoes, water, and light layers of clothing, as the temperature can vary from the base of the mountain to the peak. Many hikers, both seasoned and first-timers, find the hike very rewarding as the stunning views from the top of the mountain are breathtaking. It provides an excellent opportunity to test one's physical endurance and ability to push themselves outside of their comfort zone.
It is essential to check weather conditions before starting the hike, as rain or low-visibility conditions can make the trail significantly more challenging and potentially hazardous. It is also important to follow the rules and regulations of the hike, including staying on the trail, carrying out all trash, and avoiding trail-running during peak periods.
Overall, while the Grouse Grind is not for the faint of heart, it offers a great challenge and a rewarding sense of achievement for hikers who complete it. The incredible views at the top, as well as the sense of accomplishment, make it a must-do hike for anyone visiting Vancouver.

Be warned: this is not an easy hike. It's essentially the Canadian stair master. Bring plenty of water! Highly suggest going on this hike to get to the top as the sun sets. You can always take the gondola back down !

Was the most unic experience. The zip line instructors Josh and Sam were wonderful and fun to be around. They encourage safety , make it easy for us to enjoy and they made me to feel safe. Thanks for the wonderful memories, definitely one I’ll never forget and would love to do again!

Oh. My. Gosh. I am so glad my partner and I happened to walk by the gallery and decide to come in. Staff were able to pull out several sketches and prints for us, on themes we were interested in. We were able to get a print that really spoke to me, while the staff was kind enough to provide us the background on the print as well as the artist. Packaging is robust. We will definitely be back next time we’re in Vancouver.

This was the most amazing place in the world. Definitely worth the price. It looks completely different than the bottom. There were lots of food options and the staff were very friendly. There are lots of activities you can do there. A must try were the fresh hot fries. Even if you're not going to ski it's definitely worth the trip !!

Beautiful park, we’ll maintained. Watch out for the off leash dog owners. Most of the dogs are nice but some will go after your dog and the owners are not apologetic. Like this old dude who taunted and followed me thru the park AFTER his bichon poodle thing attacked my senior dog. Full on crazy.

What a wonderful place to visit. The gondola ride gives you the chance to take in the fabulous views! When reaching the top you get to enjoy the birds of prey show - which is brilliant! The bears & also the lumberjack show. We also did the chair lift up to the top of Grouse Mountain which again is worth doing. Brilliant day out. Highly recommend a visit.

Nice park in North Van that is close to everything good! Great for a walk, picnic, suntan or just a quick stop before you go down to explore Lower Lonsdale and the Quay

Lynn is very knowledgeable about the pieces & artist's. Her & her colleague were very helpful making sure the piece I chose was wrapped up carefully. Wonderful gallery & service!

Beautiful rain forest with deep green, tall trees covered in shiny moss, river, falls, suspension bridge, crispy air. Good place to stroll, or hike depending on what you want. will be surely refreshed and healed.

There is perhaps a concession stand that sells hot dogs open in the summer. In the winter the fields are a hot dog- less marshy area with poor drainage.

Never thought it would be such a surprisingly charming hiking spot for some place just less than 30 mins away from Metrotown. There's a suspention bridge hanging right between two falls from where you can see extreme strong current running through the valley under your feet. Several routes of trail at your choice. I chose a loop trail of about 3.5 km starts from the parking lot. I have to mention this cozy store with a coffee shop in it right outiside the turning point of trail Loop near a bridge called Pineline Bridge. Nothing compares to a hot coffee in the middle of a trail hiking on a raining day. I'm so happy to see the local community keeping this store proudly. I've add Lynn Valley to my favourite spots list. Worth your time to have a try. Have fun!

Quaint littke park just outside the entrance to Maplewood farm. Quiet & not to busy

It wasn't open when I was there but the outside is beautiful.

Cozy place with nice and friendly staff , I love their bun

This is a great park for numerous activities: playground, swings, dirt field, baseball field, water/splash park, little river, bathrooms, and trails. I planted myself on a table between the splash park & playground to watch my 15mo & 3yo. On a Thursday, it was not busy. There’s many trees/shade. Although it’s not fenced, there’s a little forest area between play area & large parking lot.

Great place to have a picnic , play games and also take a drink. It has a alcohol allowed zone to get a quite ones!

For those who do not have the time to read the entire review, allow me to front-load the fact that Inuit Gallery of Vancouver exceeded my expectations on all levels. I most certainly recommend doing business with Melanie and her crew.
I was in the market for a small soapstone sculpture to ship to Montreal for my parents' wedding anniversary and, due to health concerns, could not make it in to the store to shop in-person. Still, I was extremely motivated to get a gift for my folks and only thanks to the attention and patience and superhuman efforts of the folks at Inuit Gallery of Vancouver did this become possible. The website makes accessible good quality images, dimensions, and prices of many of the works that are available for purchase. I had narrowed down my list to 4 or 5 pieces and I needed some guidance to identify the one piece that would ultimately be selected. Melanie answered questions about sculpture size, quality of the stone used, and even information about the region and the specific artist responsible for the piece. She did so with great patience and thoughtfulness. She seemed to understand my needs and wants and helped me to select a piece that absolutely delighted the recipients who already have a good-sized collection accumulated slowly over a great number of years.
Keep in mind that I did not have a large budget, yet despite my inability to afford a much larger piece, Melanie made me feel as if I was the most important client in her Rolodex. Man Alive, I love when that happens, and it takes a very special person to impart that sense of allegiance to another.
And of course, once we finally selected a particular work, it took me forever to figure out which method of payment I would use and still, Melanie did not flinch. And, after my interminable bank account gymnastics allowed me to finally complete the purchase, the team did not hesitate to send someone to the post office with the parcel to ensure that it would reach Montreal on time. WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW!
Thank you, Melanie, and Inuit Gallery of Vancouver, for making the impossible happen. I recognize that I was very high maintenance and that without your commitment to accommodating all of needs, I would not have been able to surprise members of my family with a piece of art that they will treasure for a long time. Rest up, you will need all of your energy again as I will certainly be calling on you again at the same time next year!

Easy access, not far from our house. We walk our pups there and they love it!

Beautiful place to visit if you love art. There are many helpful polite people working there.I also like the building and side walk besides it, so peaceful and lovely.

Wonderful park! Specially in the spring! The flowers are beautiful, it’s a great place to get her with friends and appreciate the nature

Very nice hiking trail for family , there is a spring/stream you can enjoy

Just a small land mass next to river , but when water is high and weather good chance that kayakers will be on the water. So interesting to see them fight the current .

Great place to visit if you appreciate art. There are many exhibits, some temporary and some permanent. Easy to get to with transit and there's street parking. Check hours of operation before planning a visit. Must see place on the North shore.

A variety of indigenous art with prices for every budget. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. It's understandable this gallery has been in business for forty years.

My family and I are satisfied customers of the Inuit gallery Vancouver. Not only have they bent over backwards to take care of us, they also work diligently with their artist to make sure their interests are taken care of as well. It's golden an our books when you see both artist and customer at the end of the day happy with the end result..

Not much to it. Just a path from the street, a couple hundred meters and under the bridge.

Beautiful space, lovely and helpful staff. A hidden gem! I live in Vancouver and had never been until recently. Everyone should check out this gallery. You can just stroll in and have a look!

Beautiful art gallery with nice selection of local First Nations. Offer kids painting programs

A gem of a space. Surprisingly it was deserted on a wet Saturday. The attendant was very knowledgeable and friendly. When I visited there was a fantastic First Nations art exhibit.

This gallery offers the community an opportunity to view works by many of Canada's most highly respected artists. Dedicated to enriching young people, the space is a teaching gallery from October to June. Public hours posted on the website.

Used to be a really nice park that was well used by the community. Now, it's ugly and unwelcoming with so many fences that it feels more like a prison yard than a neighborhood park. All that's missing are the guard towers.
The dog park has no benches, or shade, or dog watering facilities. It's a dust bowl in the summer and a mud pit in the winter. Pretty sad overall.
All of that being said, it does have a very nice little water park and playground for small children.
