I really liked the remote feel of this place. There were many little trails to go walking on. Even though I didn't make use of the park area, it looked very nice and clean. I would definitely recommend and stay there again.
Very fun place to take the kids with more than enough to keep them occupied for at least 2 hours. There are 4 floors, with one being the roof with musical instruments. On a nice day, the rooftop is a great place to be. To get from floor to floor, you can take an elevator or take steps and let them burn more energy. The type things for my kids was the be hive they had through the window, the slide, and the musical instrument's.
All in all, for the price that you are paying, you are getting a great hands-on way for your kids to spend their time.

Great place to fish, hike, camp and tons of room to explore or walk with your pets.
Every time I bring my children here to spend a day, they have a BLAST!! There's so much to get into and so much to learn. I really like that they change every now and then. 10/10
The campsites are very spacious. Lots of things to do very clean. To launch ramps boats for rent Along With a Splash Zone for the kids.
Beautiful Old downtown especially during the holidays! It's safe to walk with your kids without worrying about cars coming and going, small locally owned gift shops and restaurants. Not as big as in Alexandria but still a nice place!
Went for New Years. Had a great time. Beautiful sunrise (watch the balloons during morning coffee) and sunsets. Definitely will be back.

We went there on the day before Christmas hoping to get a bite to eat. Most of the restaurants were actually closed and so were most of the shops. The area was mostly deserted and it gave an opportunity to experience its old town charm and rustic beauty.
We spend about 30 mins walking up and down the street and enjoyed it immensely. Felt like we had stepped on a Time Machine and traveled back perhaps 30 years.
Plan to go there again when it’s more happening!

Beautiful well organized and well-kept big area with big spaces. We're in 41" 5th wheel. Pull through spot with fire pit and picnic table. Stunning lake (no swimming-it's for drinking water)
Saw kids splash area, great for walks, heard birds, coyotes, saw plenty of ducks. Went into old town Temecula for dinner👍

Great RV camping. We tent camped and it was cold in October but the Halloween trick or treating the weekend before Halloween was amazing. Loved visiting and the green grass areas were great for kids to play. Lots of wide open spaces for kids to run around.
Our office went to see the Garden of Lights. It was beautiful. Walk at your own pace. They have a snack bar with hot cocoa, cider, and mulled wine. Treats for the kids. Find all the gnomes hidden inside and receive a prize at the end.
A Great Museum Full Of Historical Idems of The Past. And Had A Special Marvel Experience. Definitely, A Must See If Your In Your The Area.
Entry was free on Wednesday, the museum has a wing that changes every time I've gone. The garden wasn't completely in bloom when I was there but the bamboo garden was nice
Grew up listening to Patsy Cline's music. Tour guide very informative. So glad we decided to take the tour.
The museum was small. But big enough. We could read everything, without feeling overwhelmed.
Loved the walking along this promenade. Lots of restaurants and shopping to choose from. Parking is easy in the public garage just a block away.
A few good places to eat, some talented street musicians, and nice scenery....takes me to a different time
I had not been there in a couple of years. Looks like a completely new museum. Interactives, educational and unique.
Nestled beside the tranquil lake, this campsite is a nature lover's paradise. The hiking trails winding through the lush greenery provided an immersive experience, allowing me to walk and hike freely. The well-maintained paths and informative markers made exploring the area a joy, ensuring a seamless journey through the diverse landscape. The camping restrooms are widely available and are around most key points of the areas. Definitely a huge recreational area that can fit a lot of needs such as camping options, fishing, walking/hiking, picnicking, or even taking your kiddos to their on-site water park. Definitely a wonderful and remote escape to the otherwise hustle and bustle!
Aug.2022 I’ve been here several times over the years. I’ve just now decided to leave a review. Great day trip and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Great shops, restaurants, and live entertainment.
A wonderful weekend visiting Patsy Cline’s historical home in Winchester, W. Virginia. They close the street every Labor Day weekend to celebrate their hometown hero. There are souvenirs, live entertainment and a food truck. You can even take a tour of the home just like it was many years ago. We loved our time there with family and friends.
We've lived in the area for about 15 years and can't believe we've never been here! What a great museum. Some of the permanent exhibit is a little dry for kids but the outdoor gardens are huge and well maintained and worth a visit on their own ..... especially with the Lego sculptures (which just finished up). We'll be back for the Marvel exhibit and to explore the trails on a cooler day.
Guided tours only, full of interesting and fascinating facts. There are some original pieces from Patsy and her mother, Hilda. The staff was kind and knowledgeable.
Beautiful museum tucked into Old Town Winchester. Located inside the historic courthouse in the center of the Old Town Mall, the exhibits rival any of the DC museums you can visit!
From the photos it's kind of obvious we visited to see the Lego sculptures in the gardens, but we also had a nice walk in the bamboo and spent some time looking at the exhibits inside. Always had good visits here.
Took my granddaughter to see the Lego exhibits today and it was wonderful! The weather was perfect and the exhibits were magnificent. We were there for an hour and a half to two hours and had a great time. Great way to spend a day off school for sure.
Visit to see George Washington’s fort to defend the first frontier of America. Great guide named David. Have to make arrangements for a private tour but can follow along with cell phone tour. Little museum with artifacts, books and maps open by appointment. The original hand dug well remains which is the focal point of visible history with an outline of the fort walls.
I cannot say enough about this place! I took the grandsons to experience the "Lego" exhibit. The boys are ages 16 and 9 and both had a blast! The artist is so talented and made beautiful sculptures out of these popular building blocks. We visited the Asian garden and went into the bamboo garden. Both were tranquil and peaceful. I was shocked when the 9 year old asked to see the exhibits inside. I think he may now be a lover of museums.
A must see for any fan of the legendary Patsy Cline. Very interesting tour of the house and insight into her early life. I enjoyed the stories about her mother, Hilda. What a dynamo!! Enjoyed it very much and the gift shop is reasonably priced.
Cool artifacts, but $15 for the museum and given how small it is plus hassling with the parking?... waaay too much. Guy at the front desk was honestly bordering on rude or completely checked out at best. Not at all friendly and kinda soured my experience.
Go to Kernstown battlefield on the weekend, NPS Cedar Creek ( Plus the foundation) and Belle Grove for a better experience.

Just being there was amazing. Short visit in town and didn't even know it was there. Too early to do the tour on a Sunday so I didn't get to go inside
such a beautiful little town just happen to stop by on our way home from vacation, I definitely recommend walking through.
Really nice small museum with a historic house and very large, spectacular gardens on the grounds near the new building. The museum space is surprisingly small, so I assume the new building is also a warehouse for the collection. On display were antique furniture and clocks, some art work, historical artifacts, and large house models. The portrait of Washington alone is worth the trip. Large Lego statues are on display currently.
Beautiful museum and grounds. The gardens, house and outdoor area were very nice and full of information about the previous owners of the property. The museum itself was laid out quite comfortably to walk through. Our family had a great time here.
This place is beautiful you can camp you can go to the splash zone on hot days. You can fish in the lake. There’s no swimming in the lake. This place is amazing to spend a weekend or even a day pass. The trails are very nice to walk on the trails😎 just an amazing place. Locally 30 to 45 minutes from Hamet .It’s fun for the kids for the adult the elderly lots of shade trees. It’s wonderful.
I had a drs appointment and this gem was a mile away. What can one say? It's Patsy's old home! Originally a log cabin and upgraded by her mother throughout the years. Beautiful pine floors and I love how they have her original items throughout the home. The tour is 30 minutes and the fee for that is $8 dollars. It's in a community and off street parking is limited since it's a populated neighborhood. There is no video to be allowed but you may take pictures. No restroom available but it does have a small gift shop. The tour gives a walk through time and space experience. It's like you think, I'm in Patsy's old home. Her mother had turned the home into a rental for some time but then it became a visitor attraction. Highly recommend! You can't help but sing along as her music is played shortly during the tour. Steep stairs so hang on. No where to sit so wear comfortable shoes.

Old town Winchester is an amazing destination. As a runner I absolutely love the pedestrian mall. Totally flat. Very wide. A great place to burn off calories from over eating fast food like McDonald’s. Lots of historic buildings. Very charming. I love the vibe here. Also neat antique shops and restaurants. Very cute downtown
Had a great time visiting all the shops and taking in the all the beautiful historic buildings. 3 hours passed in no time and we went to put more money in the meter at 6pm to stay for dinner. Didn't need to bc there's no fee for parking after 6! We left after 9... we spent 6 hours there & would have stayed longer if we didn't have to get up early in the morning. We ate at Ellies. The food, drinks, dessert, coffee & service were great! FYI most stores don't have public restrooms, but there are public restrooms that cost .25 to use. There's a 10 minute period you can use the restroom for & then the door automatically opens on its own!! It's like an elevator door & you can't stop it from opening LOL, so make sure you can do your business in that amount of time or it could be embarrassing!! There is a warning that let's you know, but it could be bad if you're having issues!
I'm thrilled to have such an interactive, local, and educational place to take my children. With 4 floors of fun, there's something for every child. Both my husband and I have been here on 2 separate occasions. I went on a school field trip, and was overly pleased that it remained organized and was well thought out. I know they switch the themes out every so often, which makes it worth going EVEN MORE. If you're looking for a place where your kids can get their energy out, but also learn a thing here and there, go to the Shenandoah Discovery Museum.
My kids love this place. The museum has 4 levels with the 4th level being outside and boasts beautiful views of Winchester. There are many activities for the kids to engage, from puppet theater to a stuffed animal vet clinic. It closes at 3:30pm and you will need at least 2 to 3 hours to enjoy everything properly.
I happened to find out about an event here through Facebook and detoured through Winchester to check it out. The house is tiny but it was a wonderful experience. The volunteers were so pleasant and knowledgeable. I got to chat with a few Patsy fans and they really were great people. There is no parking lot, the house is literally in a neighborhood so street parking but there was plenty and it’s walkable if you are in town. Definitely recommend stopping in if you are in the area. I hear they do a big event in September and block off a couple streets - it sounded fun!
Fantastic place to take kids for fun and learning! This museum immersed your kids in all kinds of fun learning play. From learning about bees to levers and pulleys, music, and gears. There is something for everyone here. Our little ones had a fantastic time.
This was such an awesome find lived in Hemet for over 20 years had no idea about this place highly recommend from seeing this place you may think it's closed or not want to do it but trust me it is well worth your time the gentleman that gives you the tour is awesome don't cheat yourself you need to experience this place
I loved the tour...the ladies were very knowledgeable. It was very cool to see pictures of her and her family and hear stories of her childhood. The tour guide even met Pasty when she was 16 working at a soda shop.

Super enjoyable location for a stroll, and lots of eating options. Surrounding street parking is free on Saturdays and Sundays. There is a small water feature that kids can get wet in, and a nice mix of shade, sun and seating areas throughout.
Recommend you park in one of the parking garage on s. Braddock and walk to old town the museum is in the center of town very little if any parking near it
Beautiful walk. Peaceful and ghostly in a nice way. You could feel the men who served.
Aside from the historical markers and the paint on the street and sidewalks showing portions of some of the forts outline there isn't much to see. However once you look closer at the terrain and engage your imagination you can clearly understand why the fort was placed in this commanding location. Well worth a quick stop to view this location.
Nice little shopping area in Winchester, we visited on a Saturday around 1PM. Street parking in the area is free on weekends, coin or pay by app at other times. A lot of history in the area and many restaurants to choose from. A lot of the store fronts were permanently closed or closed for the weekend. Splash pad was here for the little ones but very busy since it was sunny and hot. Really no shade of visiting during this time of day so it can get hot walking this strip.
Really a great place to visit, beautiful colonial buildings, charming in every way. Perfect for a walking tour of the historic sites. I didn't do any shopping but it looks like there are high-end stores for everybody.
So glad we took the time to visit this walking mall! Historic sites around town and great vibe for all types! Water fountain to cool down in, seating along the mall, shade available, clean and architecturally interesting. The shops and restaurants are unique and we thoroughly enjoyed the trip.
I took my children to this museum on a church youth trip. My kids really enjoyed the experience. The roof floor was by far their favorite of the entire experience. I loved the bee area and the live bee hive! Sooo cool! Try to go on less busy days. Less kids their the better your littles will enjoy their time. Everything is hands on and the more they can touch. The better the experience

This is THE place to cool off. We went there and noticed a commotion about a half-block away. People were lined up watching some old guy who actually tried to eat an ice cream cone with a mask on.
It was a hot day and he was dripping the sticky glop all over himself and others. It looked like he was trying to smell people's hair when they would try to take a selfie with him.
Some guys with dark glasses tried to talk him into going with them. He kept saying, "C'mon, man!"
It was really odd so we just left. People were saying the guy with the ice cream was connected to George Washington.

As the oldest house in Winchester, it is in fine shape. The stone work is beautiful. Loved that we could go upstairs and into the basement of the house. I wanted to see more of the mill, but the upstairs is offices.

Great time was had by everyone all around - second floor was the preferred floor by our 18 month old. The bees were my personal favorite part.

Equipped with 24 pieces of artillery, the fort served as Col. Washington's command center for the Virginia Regiment and a chain of defenses that extended from the Potomac River to the North Carolina border. Situated on the high ground north of town, the fort overlooked and protected the developing community. If you love this great nation and that which is our rich history of Americana, than this is a must see. To touch rifles of our fore fathers is awe inspiring, to me at least
We took friends to visit this historic home and Greg gave us a tour we'll never forget. He spoke of the Patterson family as if he'd known them and in many ways he does, as some of their spirits remain in their home. I made sure to ask their permission to enter and we had no surprises! Greg is a great source of local history and I wished I'd asked more about Tilla who was station master, the longest Wells Fargo agent and one of the first Riverside County librarians.
There is not much to see here. There is a plaque that gives you information and lines that show where the fort extended out too, but now this is someone's house. They were understand and helpful but there isn't much to see.
Nothing really happened besides seeing the cobwebs.

One of the best kept secrets of the valley! Gregg, the Historian is a wealth of knowledge.
A Civil War museum housed in the old Frederick County Courthouse in Winchester Virginia. You can still see some of the soldiers' names and the pictures they drew on the walls. A collection of items housed in display cases. This two-story building has an elevator and a small gift shop on the first floor Admission fee is $5. Senior discount available. Children 15 and under free.
Visit ery weekend ! Love the surroundings , especially George Washington's well out back ( no mention of tht in the writeup).

Full of history and spooky lol
I took my 14 month old and she loved it. It was refreshing for us to get out of the house and to take her to a place she can learn through play. There are 4 floors, the fourth consisting of a floor piano and rooftop. There are no toddler specific areas but each floor has activities that a toddler can get involved in. You can take The stairs or The elevator. The bathrooms are nice, clean and have changing tables. Staff is friendly and helpful. I hope this review helps everyone want to visit and helps others looking for a place to take their toddler.

House is a bit ran down. For its age it's doing good though. Nice displays in museum. They have a mascot dog too.
