Such a lovely place in a wonderful town. Everyone was nice at the end of the Slacker Half Marathon
Wonderful loop with awesome staff. On the trip up the mountain the staff walked through the cars asking if we had any questions. The trip down the mountain was narrated with facts about the line as well as the surrounding area. Would definitely recommend it to someone touring this area.
Beautiful scenery. Rich history. Very friendly staff. A blast from the past vibe. A must visit even if you have to drive a while. Well worth it.
We did the Georgetown Loop Railroad with the add-on mine tour and gold panning. The adventure was perfect for our 5-year old (and great for parents, too). The silver mine tour with John David was fascinating. He did a good job with the kids. It helped they got flashlights and were able to touch different parts of the mine. It was also the right length tour to keep a kid interested. Panning for gold (and everyone finding real gold flakes) was the cherry on top.

The train ride itself was fun. They shared interesting information about the train and route - and our child enjoyed that a conductor came and actually punched everyone’s ticket.
It was really fun riding train and mine tour. We went there on Father's day and all fathers got root beer after the ride. Nice surprise!
Had a fabulous train ride today for Father's Day! Perfect weather and breathtaking scenery! I highly recommend this excursion.

What a fun experience for our family! A real life train on a mountain near old coal mines! My kids 6 and under all enjoyed it so much! It was snowing during our ride which was fun and cold at the same time! Great customer service as well!
This was a perfect day trip! Our kids had a lot of fun! And our parents from Europe loved it! The views are beautiful and the atmosphere on the train ride was magical. There is a little gift/food shop at the end of the train ride before you start heading back. But there is also a gift shop at the beginning where you can buy some cool toys and stones. When we were there they also had a photographer, so you can take a family photo and then buy it later.
Enjoyable but not for $35 pp. the ride was fairly short, 30minutes one way? Didn’t bother getting off at SilverPlume because the tour allotted less than 10minutes to explore and by the time everyone debarked we’d have to board again. Scenery was pretty and enjoyed the conductor’s commentary upon return to the station. Staff members were friendly and informative.

Ice and wind was what I was after, and this pond right of l-70 has it! Nice area to pull off the hwy and take a break, nice path around the small lake with beautiful scenery. I was after wind, and the canyon promotes it. East just past Eisenhower tunnel, stop and check this place out!

Beautiful place and a town full of history
Found this totally by accident. Went to see Georgetown, had never been there. Drove down some side streets looking at the beautiful homes and wound up at Morgan Park. What a treasure. Next time I am in SC, I will plan a trip to Morgan Park and enjoy a picnic there.
Pretty view of the town

Went last weekend and wow! Leaves are in full blooms of yellow. Weather was fantastic and little windy and chilly but was such an amazing time.

Parking lot is small so get there early. They’re side parking in the road.

*please remember when visiting to pick up your trash and dog poop. Take your dog poop down the mountain and not just leave it on the trail.

Very beautiful. Avoid going on weekends if possible. Very crowd, it was the last weekend to see the bright colors. Enjoyed.
Good area. There is a port-a-potty and ample parking. The stream is easily accessible from the parking area.
A trail we always enjoy. Nice wide concrete trail with a fairly easy slope. Beautiful walk along the stream with the Aspen foliage was showing their fall color.
I quite liked this place! It had a lot to look at and some cute things for the kids. All the volunteers were very knowledgeable and helpful. I couldn’t believe the amount of planes they had and you could look inside them! I would absolutely go back.

Took a hike around the lake which was right at a mile walk. Trail is very well maintained crushed gravel. Almost completely flat. Excellent views all around!
A wonderful small museum and tour guide. Learned some important history. Well worth the trip and time.

Gorgeous lake with an easy trail that loops around it. Perfect place to take in some Mountain Views while getting some exercise in!
Come here about 4 times a year (for the last 4 years) and each time it's always been clean, well maintained and it's in a really nice area. My children love to play here and the little library is a nice touch as outdoor play and reading are very important to developing minds in my opinion.

Really cute playground nestled in the mountains. There is a small fence around it but there are openings. There's a big kid area and a toddler area with a sand pit. There is a tire swing. Lots of things to climb, slide and balance on.

it's got nice tennis courts and a few ball fields. The playground equipment is limited, but there is a fireworks show on the 4th of July that is pretty good, and plenty of access

Didn't catch anything today, not even a bite. The water is clear and the air is crisp. There were way too many people at the lake today. Kinda worried about the new homes being built close to the lake. Almost looks like bigger city living, the way the homes are squished all altogether.
It’s a nice place to get a view of Georgetown. You can see all the way to the water and the downtown area. Good spot to take a picture!

Nice access to a water view. If you get there early, you can occupy the shed, which has 3 picnic tables and almost have a private beach. Its a small walk to the beach with a muddy walk way but worth it. Water is nit good to swim but you can fish

Beautiful lake. We were here May 7, 2023. It was very windy. The weather changed every 15 minutes. Snow, rain, sun and wind. Good place for fishing, hiking, picnic. Of the minuses, the men's toilet was closed. In the women's restroom , the locks on the doors do not work. Sheep viewing area there was a very bad smell, people from this place made a toilet.

Adjacent to East Bay Park but operated separately, this park has a small dedicated parking area. There are a number of short boardwalks and trails that lead through the woods that bring you to the tip of the peninsula for some great views of the waterways. It's even possible to walk along the shoreline at low tide.

Unfortunately, I was wearing sneakers today and while I could get most of the way through the park, I was not able to complete the journey. There are some swampy trails and large puddles that I was simply not able to bypass. A bummer because it looks great on the satellite view.

These are trails. Never hike alone. Always bring a friend. And of course, have the right footwear.

On a peninsula south of the downtown core of Georgetown, East Bay Park has some great views of the Sampit River and the Winyah Bay. The park includes tennis courts that are also lined for Pickleball, a nine-hold disc golf course, playground, picnic shelter, and baseball/softball fields. The East Bay Boat Landing looks to be well maintained and there is also a dog park and a building with restrooms.

I took the time to have a nice walk on the walking trail that includes some exercise/fitness stations. It's a lovely park and I had a nice visit.

So much fun for those willing to explore and do something a bit different...Very reasonable price for a 4 hour boat tour of Winyah Bay, North Island for shelling and views of the lighthouse. Appropriate for young folks and the young at heart!
Absolutely fantastic experience! I highly recommend this to all aviation enthusiasts, history buffs, and especially aviation history lovers!
Great staff, amazing property and it bring history to the present. The uniqueness of this museum is just amazing!

This lady takes her Doberman pitcher inside little dog park! This dog has dogged big holes and tore up the fence and now there is a big gap where little dogs can go under fence to big dog area. Why is this allowed? I have saw this 3 times now, when approached the owner of this dog, she wanted to argue. Person in charge of this dog park needs to speak to this lady. Also have video as she left that Doberman pitcher alone in park while she talk on phone in her vehicle. This is not safe for people who want to use the park for little dogs and children.

Great place to visit. Great people.
My family and friends have a good time when we visit the museum.
Great place to see local history. Best collection of antique carriages in the area. Fun place to spend a day!
Interesting place to visit. A variety of things to see and do. Preserving local history.

Cute park full of playground activities including a tire swing and climbing wall over casted by the mountains above.
We flew in the B-25 Panchito and that was truly an unforgettable experience. Bill, who helped me organize this gift for my husband was amazing, and did everything he could to accommodate us. Every crew member was beyond nice and made sure we had a great experience. They are all volunteers who are passionate about aviation, and they spent time to tell us about the aircraft, the association and any thing we asked about.
The gift was for my husband who is an aviation fan, he loved it. I loved it too and I’m so glad I took a ride as well.
The aircraft is a piece of history and it’s genuinely a fabulous experience. We highly recommend it for any one looking for a unique flying experience!!

Cute park with a walking path, exercise areas, bathrooms, plenty of parking and a bit of history. Loved spending a portion of our day here, on our travels, and the sunset was gorgeous. Definitely check out the trail that leads out to the beach on the South side of the park, it was pretty picturesque if you ask me.

This was a really cool excursion. We went when it was still cold and there weren't a ton of shells but we still came out with a really cool haul. Bill was great at sharing the history of the places we went by. The lighthouse and the ghost story that went with it were super cool. This is definitely a thing we will do again.

If I was wanting a good aerial view photo without renting an airplane or hiking up the side of mountain, this is the place. In fact.... Some the photos in the guidebooks were taken from this location. No need risking your life taking a photo of Georgetown from the shoulder of I-70. The pullout is not large but adequate for cars and 4x4's. Not recommended for those with large trailers and definitely not for RV's bigger than a large pickup truck. Be aware they are VERY serious about the 20mph speed limit. We seen a number of people be pulled over by the police for doing 25mph in the 20mph speed zone which goes all the way through the switchbacks and more!

They were closed, even though their website had about 4 different things that it said should have been taking place. Gotta love telling your kid all week about the big train event we're going to on Saturday, then when you get there, they are closed. Good thing there's so many other things to do in that area for kids in Winter.

Loved the boat ride. The captain and his first mate are very knowledgeable about the area and the different types of wildlife. We couldn't go to the lighthouse but the captain slowed down so we could take pictures. North Island was beautiful.
Great service, the tour guide was the best! I will never have a better experience in my life. I was not very interested in this plane, but after I went I can’t get enough, they have a great volunteer that should get paid, Becuse he maid my experience better =D
Impressive amount of things to look at from planes and military Jeep to ongoing projects. Great fun and learning experience for my brother excited grandson! He was really amazed that he was able to get so close to the planes and military Jeep. The staff was friendly and tailored throw presentation to a young child's level.
They don’t protect history of this county or town they destroy it because of some public dislike and miseducation of history. Instead of educating the people of this town and county they let their ignorance dictate what happens to historical structures.
Wings & Wheels Festival great event but typical Georgetown no forethought for traffic cop sitting in cars and standing around no help with traffic
Free parking, free admission. Awesome displays. However, I was highly disappointed because you need a guide to view most of the planes. I understand they probably do this to prevent things getting ruined by people unsupervised but I didn’t want to spend hours with a tour guide. It would be better if you could see everything at your own leisure.

This is the nicest, coolest park I have ever been to. We were traveling through on vacation and stopped to let the kids burn off some energy. This park has everything a kid could want. They have different sections for different age groups. The tree house has a large hard wood tree actually growing through it. I am super jealous of the people of Georgetown and the surrounding area!

My apologies. The last text was posted incorrectly. Now, about Rover Tours. This is our second visit on this tour to visit the island and look for shells. Truth is - you might get lucky finding some very good shells, or you might now. Just depends on what the tide brings in.

But the best part of this ride is listening to the local guides narrate and provide historical information about the local community and the surrounding areas. We've been lucky to have a different guide each time. Both have been very knowledgeable and friendly beyond belief.

You will enjoy the ride, the company, and guides and captain. And, you just might be lucky and find some really good shells.

I love this place! So nice and relaxing. But a port a potty would make it even better!!!! Please get one asap!
I had gone here to see the solar eclipse August 21st, 2017, and really enjoyed myself! Especially being able to park in the shade under a tree! I really wished they had a better exit strategy, because it took hours to leave the place but overall it was a pleasant experience! There was a nice little beach that had a huge Pavilion as well as a good-sized elevated observation deck set in a bit revealing a beautiful view of the water!
Outstanding piece of Sussex County history. Lots of great displays. Really interesting stories of Mr. Marvel and his life in Delaware. A must see. There is too much to take in with one visit.
Beautiful park with history and beach. No swimming. Picnic area with walking paths.
There is so much to see here, it's difficult to take it all in. In addition to the carriage collection, there is a telephone museum, old schoolhouse, old gas station, and lots of memorabilia. Make sure to check first if it's open, as it's staffed by volunteers!
