Very cool old market you can walk through with lots of different stalls selling all kinds of wears. Went on a weekday and it was not very busy most people are packed up by 4pm so go early! they did some remodeling recently not sure why removed some old parts of the market not sure why? overall very cool
Beautiful plantation in the Charleston area. The grounds were well-maintained and interesting to walk around. It did feel a bit touristy compared to some of the other plantations, but definitely worth a visit.
My family and I have never been to an aquarium before and this was 10/10!! For 3 adults and 3 kids it was over $200, but it was worth it. The staff all over were very friendly and surprised to be able to buy tickets to feed sting rays!! The massive fish tank that you can get a view on multiple floors was amazing!! Petting star fish and little sharks was also a top memory. Would definitely recommend this place to visitors and suggest parking at the nearby parking garage. The parking garage was easily accessible and wasn’t expensive at all.
Nice small museum. Worth visiting for the low entrance fee.

There are many trails to go through the woods to see ponds and magnolia trees. They have different ways to tour the grounds other than walking. I also recommend paying the $12 to tour the house; it's awesome to see the historical side, plus to hear all of the historical info!!

Beautiful plantation with a cool history. They had a great tour honoring the tragic history of slavery. Great way to spend the day walking around, visit the swamp too! In my opinion, this is better than Boone Hall.
Great place to go and have fun for children of all ages. I had a great time. Lots of great things to see and you can interact with some of the Rays and Sharks. We fed the Rays which was amazing experience. Highly recommend stopping in here. The turtle hospital is very nice and informative as well.
Nice half day to explore old plantation life. The grounds are beautiful. You have to pay an additional fee to go inside the house so we did not go. The grounds are sufficient. A retired teacher did a nice lecture on the life of a slave at Magnolia. Very sobering.
Very impressed by this place. Beautiful gardens, a nice swamp area, petting zoo, and much more. Parking is easy, and admission isn't too expensive. The petting zoo has tons of animals to pet and observe, and there's a ton of gators around the place. Highly recommend this place to anyone in the Charleston area.
The grounds were absolutely beautiful but expected more service and activities. The tram ride was nice to see the grounds but the people at the house/gift shop were NOT helpful at all. We had to walk back to the welcome center because no one told us about the tram ride. To tour the house was extra and should be included in the price of admission. I was expecting the house to be the center of the attraction and it really was not.
It was the perfect day for a stroll through Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. We bought tickets online, but arrived a bit later than expected and missed our free nature train ride. They were able to reschedule us for a later train ride which was super nice. Our tour guide, Rigel (like Nigel but with an R!) lol like he said was awesome. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the history and the property. I even got to see a couple alligators and some cute yellow belly turtles!

We ended our time with the slavery to freedom tour and I’m sad I forgot her name but I can tell she’s very passionate about what she does! Funny, also enthusiastic and shared with us a lot of history and stories.

Cool place to visit. They have a lage tank with lots of fish, sharks, rays and a turtle. They give talks fir the kids that are full of information. They have an area where you can touch starfish, and other sea creatures. Their are staff there that can tell you about what your are touching. Plus there is a turtle rescue here. You can follow how a turtle is saved. Great place to see creatures from the ocean.
Beautiful gardens and interesting train and house tour. One of the most gorgeous gardens I've seen. The food at the cafe was decent and the employees working the cafe were kind, quick, and efficient with the amount of guests there. The freedom to slavery guide John was phenomenal and the story like presentation he gave was captivating to someone who often gets distracted. Highly recommend for anyone visiting or in the area!
We had a wonderful time visiting the aquarium. Mom really wanted to visit the turtle rehab facilities. Everyone we interacted with was so very nice and friendly! Based on time we arrived, they made suggestions on where to start to see the most. The doctor who discussed the turtles was very knowledgeable and answered several questions that we had. It was obvious that everyone there loves their job and what they do! Highly recommend!!
This is among the best aquariums in the country! There are multiple levels of creatures and exhibits to explore and some great views of the surrounding area. Like I've said many times, you can spend hours here without getting bored! The sea turtle hospital and stingray touch tank are also nice touches. This is a perfect activity for the whole family, a must do in Charleston!
The view alone is worth the visit, if you're interested in beautiful scenery, nature, and curiosity for science. Upon approach, the harbor offers a unique setting offering everything from sailboats, freighters, and aircraft carriers. This is my first "real" aquarium, which was modern, informative, and staffed with willing people ready to answer any questions. I will bring some arrangement of my six granddaughters the next time I visit, they will enjoy the kid friendly opportunities to interact with the sea life.
We had an incredible experience at the South Carolina Aquarium! One of the highlights was getting to pet snakes, which was such a unique and exciting opportunity. It was clear that the animals were very well cared for, and the variety of wildlife on display was impressive. We saw so many amazing creatures, including vibrant birds, fascinating fish, and even an octopus! The entire experience was highly educational, and the kids had a blast exploring the interactive children’s section. They couldn’t get enough of the hands-on activities and loved every minute. A special treat was the chance to feed the stingrays – such a fun and unforgettable moment! We highly recommend visiting this aquarium; it’s perfect for families and offers a wonderful way to connect with nature.

I cannot express how much I loved being there and how amazing the staff was. Such a cool experience and I can’t wait to go back. I’m gonna miss those sea puppies🥹

I didn’t expect I was going to like it so much but I loved it, is interesting I loved the Animal section. It’s a very good reference to touristic places in the city.
Very cool place. The ladies were so helpful. Gave us info we were not expecting, and found info about my husbands great grandfather. They took time to listen and help with info. So many great artifacts. It’s a must for a history lesson.
I know it's not fair to give a museum low rating, but this one is really lame. Looks like someone came up with idea of filling up the space with whatever they could find around.
Instead of learning in depth history of Charleston and South Carolina, one can even find an ancient Egypt - poorly shown - and one of the weirdest animals exhibits.
I would really appreciate focus on local history.

Thoroughly enjoyed this museum. Easy to follow exhibits and signs in a well presented order of history. The final section of the museum is the natural history museum. It was mostly empty on a Monday afternoon, which was nice to take my time without feeling rushed or crowded. Highly recommend. The cost is also reasonable considering other things in town that are expensive.
The woman who had set the scene for us at the museum was absolutely delightful. She really transported us back in time to when the war memorabilia was collected to create the museum. There were things there that you wouldn't find in just any museum and the small library was fantastic.
The Charleston Museum was really great, with a large and eclectic collection of history from the area. We saw items from every era of the city’s history, from prehistoric to contemporary times. The museum does a nice job presenting all aspects of life in different time periods, from fossils to fashion of the time they have examples.
It is a fine museum to learn about the local history.
There are not too many artifacts (but still quite plenty), and the format is very traditional and non-interactive, although there is a video played here and there.

It is a good place to check out the history and souvenirs. It definitely holds a lot of historical significance, so definitely check it out.
Lots of really cool pieces of history in this museum. The Charleston whale, the mummy, the polar bear. lots of muskets and rifles, some natural history, a really interactive museum as well. I've been to many museums and I am happy to add this one to my list! A must see if you're in Charleston
Fantastic Museum open Thursdays through Sundays, this museum is about history, culture, way of life, education, textiles, families who lost everything and how people survived. There’s a small admission fee and allow about a hour or so to admire every relic. There’s a gift shop area that sells adult and children t-shirts, historical jewelry made from relics found in the low country areas made by a local artist, books, stickers and novelty items. This Musuem is ran by a fabulous group of ladies and they know everything there is about Charleston’s past and present.
I loved looking at the textiles, how women hand stitched their dresses, children clothes and gloves. The watermelon seed brooch is my favorite. How cleaver and such detail.

Located in the first (well deserved) fireproof building original intended to store documents, the now converted building is the home to the history of South Carolina. Located just north of The Four Corners of Law and adjacent the small but pleasant Washing Square Park, the museum's primary focus is on slavery although there are other elements like the origin of South Carolina's founding and cultural contributions. Each room of the building houses a specific exhibit and takes about 30 minutes to peruse, but don't just look at the exhibits pay attention to the building itself and the reasons and intent for its design. And it only costs $1 to get in. Enjoy!

There seems to be something for everyone. Whether you are looking for handmade jewelry, accessories, candles, hats, fragrance, jellies, cookies, or Charlston themed souvenirs, I am sure you will enjoy your visit. Be sure to visit the numerous nearby shops and horse and carriage tours.
I would recommend two hours to walk through everything. Most of the museum is the history of Charleston, with some 'natural science' exhibits toward the end.
Fabulous stain glass windows! Excellent condition and quality. Go during early morning or late afternoon for best effect.
It's our first visit to The Cathedral of St John The Baptist and we were truly impressed by the architecture, both interior and exterior, very conducive to prayerful meditations with Glory to God , The Father, the Son, Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit ( Gloria Patri et Filio et Espiritu Santo) & Behold, The Lamb of God ( Ecce Agnus Dei). We were very fortunate enough to have a photo opportunity with the Bishop of the Diocese of Charleston. We just wished the limited parking could be improved. We had to park across the street in front of the Cathedral.
Very cool, large market with lots of local vendors selling many different products. You could purchase belts, paintings, hats, handmade leaf baskets, and much more. We visited at least 2-3 times in our short stay. It was a bit pricey, but it's also a big tourist attraction so it makes sense. It wasn't too busy though, we were able to take our time and got a few souvenirs to bring back.
This was my 2nd visit to Charleston City Marketplace. It's an open-air market with no walls and vendors lining either side of the aisles with all sorts of unique sweet grass baskets, jewelry, clothing, food, books and so much more. I purchased a very unique handmade cane with a silver metal handle for a friend at a very reasonable price. Also, I purchased several pieces of jewelry for gift giving and some sweet grass items. The vendors are generally very friendly and some are the artisans who created the items on display. Three blocks long with lots of parking nearby, both street and lot parking. Each time I've gone, I wish I had more room in my suitcase for additional items. Several restaurants surrounding the market, including Henry's with great food and ambiance, are either at the bar or table seating. There's also an area to get carriage rides within a block. Easy walking area and open 7 days a week.
Cool market, lots of vendors and stuff to see and possibly buy. Watch out for the street folks peddling the grass roses though. This kid tried to get my elderly mom to give him money for a "basketball trip to Alpharetta". I told him no thanks and he cussed me out and walked off.
Uncrowded museum filled with incredibly rich content for its size. Great natural history, historical SC replicas and stories, adorable interactive children's area and play place.
Wide variety of products from shoes and clothing vendors to jewelry, handbags and unique handmade items. A nice walk from our hotel (Hotel Bennett) and a good way to get a taste of the port area. You may see a huge cruise ship docked at the end of the market. Pretty cool! Got a couple pieces of magnetic jewelry from this super cool dude.

The market has so many booths with unique items - it took over three hours to see it all. I lucked out and went on the day of the Christmas tree lighting so there was a night market too. I went to the market in the morning and then again for the night market. A lot of different vendors set up for the night market. It wasn’t difficult to find a parking spot for either time. It was a lovely day and I bought many unique items from food items to baskets to jewelry.
Side note: Be careful of the people outside the market trying to “gift” you with a handmade sea grass rose. They are relentless with demands for money. Just be prepared to pay if you accept the “gift”.

A beautiful and charming cathedral! With incredible details in the architecture, with perfect window glass! We were delighted with every detail! The floor, the ceiling, the windows, the benches, the altar, are full of details! simply wonderful!
Lots of fun to walk around and see the animals while also learning a bit of history.
I loved the experience, beautiful church, friendly staff, the Holy Spirit was in the air! There was incredible stained glass iconography.
This is a great choice if you are wanting to experience Charleston in a day or a few day’s. Defiantly recommend the Palmetto carriage guided tour and oyster house restaurant for a quick bite of some Charleston traditions. There are plenty of handmade Charleston souvenir shops at the market place supporting small businesses. Definitely try Rodeo street for shopping and Magnolias.

It was a true joy to visit Saint Mary of the Annunciation. A beautiful, well maintained Church that is one of a kind. Also it was nice to walk around the graveyard, and pay respects to the souls no longer with us. Will definitely come back again next time I’m in the area.
One the most beautiful Churches I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. I recommend stopping in if you are in the area.
I want to really like this place and in fact, I do like it, but it is like many small places of note. There are things to read and some items to look at but not enough to be delighted. To make this work you need the interactivity of actors, or some element of mystery to really spend time in the narrow spaces. Worth a look but probably won't captivate you for long.
The Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist is an architectural marvel that left me in awe. Not only is the structure itself magnificent, but the sense of community within is truly heartwarming. The use of Latin in certain segments of the mass deepened the sense of tradition and liturgical heritage. The choir’s performance was simply outstanding. A spiritually enriching experience I’d recommend to all.
The Grandkids loved it. So you know that means we did too! People stop leaving your trash here. We wish this place had a Porta potty. We caught 15ish fish in about 2hrs.
Excellent museum. They also have an elevator as it is on 2nd floor. Lots of history and reference books re/ soldiers who fought for the Confederacy. Friendly, helpful staff.

Attended Fabulous SC Historical Supper with friends. Full of Charleston historical culinary knowledge and delicious shared platters with lovely ambience. Bring your favorite bottle to enjoy as well. Chef & Historian, Michael Hebb made this a very pleasurable experience!
A beautiful church. It’s a great place to spend some time in quiet repose (and to get out of the heat). Be sure to see all the parts of the church, including the sides behind the alter. The stained glass is also beautiful. The mass schedule can be found on the linked website.

Breathtakingly beautiful inside. Stained glass windows are spectacular. Located on Broad Street, this is a must see in Charleston SC
First time visit to the Fire Proof Building. What a wonderful building! I attended the Maps & Madeira event. The event was great. There were many historical displays including a flint-lock pistol that belonged to General Francis Marion and the staff was very friendly and helpful. What a great place to visit!
Went to mass on Saturday at 5:30p. Beautiful stained glass windows and marble altar. Church is Catholic, and 200 years old. Go see if you can.

Very Awesome Catholic Church! The Chapel is beautiful. Full access to the sacraments. The parish is very active. Without any doubt going to The Cathedral of Saint John The Baptist is a great opportunity to take advantage of. Have a great day knowing God loves you, and when you learn true devotion to Jesus he helps you become your happiest and most heroic version of yourself!
Absolutely gorgeous. The stain glass windows and paintings between them tell the story of the life of Jesus. Please be courteous when visiting as first and foremost this is the house of the Lord and services are being held as well as visitors and members are there praying.
Amazing stained glass windows in this church. The awe and reverence for God really struck me as we walked in this traditional high order church. The organist was practicing another added treat.
I recently visited Candies Creek Wildlife Management for some fishing and I have to say, the fishing itself was wonderful. However, I was disappointed with the lack of access to the water. The roads leading to the put-in were in poor condition and made it difficult for kayaking enthusiasts to enjoy the water. It's a shame because I know many people used to love kayaking here. I hope the management takes note of this and improves the accessibility to the water so that more people can enjoy this beautiful place. Overall, I would recommend this place for fishing, but be prepared for some challenges when it comes to accessing the water.
Ducking in off the busy street was like entering a dream. The collection is housed in a silent and beautiful building, and everything within is immaculately cared for.

I have a fantastic time every year with my beautiful yellow lab,Willow,and love seeing all the exhibits and events over such an always great weekend for everyone that attends this spectacular experience! Willow loves to meet new dog and people friends,eat some great food,but especially loves the booths with duck calls more than anything! I completely agree with her more and we hope to see a great crowd as always!🙂🐕🦺❤

Bring your wallet cause there will be plenty of items you can purchase: one of kind originals, sculpture, carvings and clothing.Classy, sassy and first classy!
Super nice people and a beautiful walking trail, but some of the cages are too small. And they seem to support Klaus Schwab Agenda what is for me a no no. They are selling bugs to little kids (it's in their sight positioned). To eat bugs is not healthy no matter what lies they are telling you. It is nothing but cheaper and easier than to have a farm of cows, chicken and so on. I am extremely distgust by any supporter.

Very interesting place, seeing I didn't even know it existed until today! Confederate museum, caution written on the sign, take it for what it is... history - learn from it so it's not repeated. Pictures included to show kind of artifacts preserved by the Daughters of the Confederacy. Military and Veterans enter for free, which was nice for my husband.
Possibly the worst boat ramp in North America. TWRA likes to collect fees but not sure what the do with the money. I would pay to watch them try to launch one of their 100K center consoles on this ramp.
Candies Creek is a wildlife management area controlled by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA). Opportunities for the sportsman include small game and large game hunting as well as draw hunts for waterfowl. Fishing the creek is also popular.
Never will you experience dogs, hawks, reptiles and art all in the same area! If your not watching the birds of prey do their thing then your visiting Charleston Place sipping a cocktail and observing and selecting the sporting art…. Who knew! But my favorite is the breeders “ kissing booths” where the dog breeders bring their puppies to hug. To much to do. Nothing like it anywhere. Wear your camo and come on down.
Went to take the grand kids to see the wildlife. Pretty but... lots of trash thrown around. Can't believe that people just through their garbage down. What happened to pack it in pack it out people?
Time to brush up on your history because this place is full of it I thought I was just coming to a place to see animals but I was in for a surprise this place has a museum ,beautiful gardens, a outside zoo,a African cemetery, old battlefields with canons and bunkers also a dock where the ships used to import and export goods and my personal favorite is the house where u can plan a wedding and eat outside on the patio all at the same time this is an excellent place to bring your family just be prepared for a whole day of walking unless u rent a bike from the museum but still great place to visit
Worship and homilies befitting an ancient and mystical religion that, as the literary theorist and skeptic Terry Eagleton notes, “has repeatedly exhibited the capacity to ‘link the most exalted truths to the daily existence of countless men and women.” Catholicism in all its dignified, beautiful “ever ancient, ever new” glory- the ancient chants are sung alongside palestrina, viadana, and the greatest English hymns. Worshiping God takes focus here.

Animals are too far apart so you have to do a ton of walking and aren’t allowed to take drinks inside with you, some exhibits were closed due to COVID but that was understandable. Lots and lots of big writing spiders everywhere.
Come and enjoy the oldest Catholic Church and cemetery in the Carolinas and Georgia! The Ordinariate Mass restores the beauty of holiness of the English Anglican Patrimony in the Mass (like attending a Latin Mass in "English") - a must see for all!
We arrived in downtown Charleston on Good Friday. This was our first stop. Gorgeous church! Old historic grave yard outside of the church.
Church stays open all day so the public can come in and pray. A sign out front welcomes everyone. There are stunning details everywhere you look. Beautiful place!! Walk through the cemetery around the back when you visit.
Good place to paddle the kayaks and good fishing in the back waters if only people wouldn't throw their trash every where clean up each time I go
Enjoyed spending time with my family here because I don't get a lot of time to spend with my loved ones, but........
I'm sad to say that these poor animals were suffering from malnutrition to say the least. All of the wolves looked as though bugs were eating their poor ears up. One of those babies was missing the tips of it's ears. One of the bears (that was laying against the fence) had a chunk of hair missing from its back left leg. He or she obviously had some sort of infection from the looks of the wounds. The otter & birds water was disgusting. The puma was very skinny & sickly.
I do understand that all of these issues happen naturally in nature, but that's just the thing.....
These caretakers are to mimic natural habitats while also making sure these sweet babies are well taken care of & whomever is responsible should be down right ashamed.
I won't be returning until something changes & those animals get the proper care & love they need & deserve.
I'm sad to say that these poor animals were suffering from malnutrition to say the least. All of the wolves looked as though bugs were eating their poor ears up. This is a really good place to bring kids of you want to test out going to the zoo. It's smaller and mostly shaded. My kids love going. Plus, you can walk around the rest of the park and take in all the historic site areas too.
What an AMAZING time we are having! This is our 2nd year attending SEWE and it's even better this year. The check-in process was very well organized, the art and artist are impressive and the events have all been top-notch! Since SEWE brings in a crowd, expect some traffic and make sure you make dining reservations but, it is definitely worth it. Kudos to the conservation efforts of your organization and your FANTASTIC, friendly staff!

A beautiful place, not too many animals but it fulfills its purpose, showing the history and animals exist there in thr past.
Nice to walk it, beautiful trees and it is a good way to bring kids close to nature. Tickets are not that expensive and they totally worth every cent.
After that, go to folly beach and you had an amazing day.

I have been hunting there since 1972.
The part i went to is bordered by private property and the land owners WILL HAVE YOUR CAR TOWED IF THEY HAVE TO GET OFF CENTER OF THEIR DRIVEWAY OR THINK YOU ARE PARKED TOO CLOSE TO THEIR DRIVEWAY. This discouraged me from even getting out of my truck
St. Mary's is a beautiful, authentic, historic Catholic church nestled in the heart of downtown Charleston. Whether you're just poking your head in for a peek at the grand ceiling, or looking for a gorgeous venue to have your wedding, this place is fabulous! I've photographed many weddings at this church, and it never fails to inspire me!!!
Great event as always. I do think the food vendors are charging too much for what they serve. Something the SEWE Board might need to review.
