Experince wonderful nature.. despite of the peak summer in Muscat, drive for around 1 and half hours to get a dip in flowing fresh water natural ponds. It was really mazing !

The trip summary:
You get a free parking lot and ferry( 1 OMR) crosses the land, to start walking. Sun doesn't annoy much you as it's steep under the canyon. But, of course the mid day sun, for couple if hours. Walk takes approx 45 minutes(one way) for an adult man to reach the destination, with hurdles of rocky terrain. Pair of good sports shoes are recommended. The terrain is not inclined, but not smooth enough for women and small children to easily walk. Anticipate 1hour+ for families to reach the last spot, to visualise the mesmerizing beauty. Not a crowded place.

Be Very careful before entering the pool, some areas are deep, and no other rescuers nearby. And ensure you return to the parking lot before the day light goes.

This is wonderful beach with the pebbles of all shapes and colors. Unfortunately much like most beaches in Oman, trash is a huge problem. I wish people were a bit more considerate. Also this place is bit much of a hidden gem anymore. Lots of people camp and grill here. Maybe best to visit during morning or weekdays.

In Oman, every beaches are so beautiful, but this one is one of my favourites...!! Sound when waves came to meet little stones was just awesome. Perfct time to visit this place after or around 4pm till sunset...

Amazing place well worth the 40min hike..i could stay here all day. Be careful as some parts of the wadi is deep. You can hire floating jackets for 1 riyal. And boat ride 1 riyal return. Some parts can be very slippery. I wore water shoes and was fine but they wont help when stepping on stones that have grown moss. I didnt wanna leave the place landscape is incredible

Super difficult to find, but worse seeing it

Amazing experience!! Tips:

1- travel light. A water bottle or a small backpack.
2- buy a waterproof backpack. We swam with ours. (Bought in the wadi)
3- buy the right water proof shoes. (Also sold in the wadi entrance)
4- wear your sunscreen.
5- if you can’t swim well, rent a life jacket!!

The experience:

1- boat ride for 2 minutes for 1 riyal.
2- about one hour of walking to reach the spot. It’s a fairy straightforward path. Some rocks are slippery so walk slowly and be careful.
3- there is a halfway spot to jump into the water.
4- when you reach the spot, it’s time to swim. We swam with our waterproof bag. It’ll take about half an hour to swim to the end spot comfortably. You must go slowly and watch out because there are rocks and the ground will be very slippery at some points.

The experience was amazing. We spent about 4 hours in total here. Come prepared. Walk slowly. Watch for slippery rocks. I would not recommend coming here solo. Come with a group of friends. Have fun ✌️

Undoubtedly, it's a picturesque location with natural water features. However, during my visit, it was excessively crowded. Families were seen leisurely relaxing and dining by the water, engaging in washing utensils directly in the water, and littering the surroundings with trash. In summary, it's not an ideal destination to visit during public holidays.

Super overcrowded, highly not recommended for visiting during weekdays or public holidays. Utterly impossible to enjoy nature due to hundreds of people.

Also please be informed that the waterproof bags and swimming shoes are must, otherwise please be prepared to pay 10+ OMR per person for everything needed

A beautiful Sous in the dresser. Visiting there is a combination of. Beautiful trek where you get rewarded by getting to swim in sweet and cool water. Roughly 7 Kms of trek both ways. Bring swimwear and really good hiking shoes. You will also need OMR1 for the boat to get you across the starting point.

Best wadi starts with one min boat ride followed by 50 min hiking through mesmerizing views and then you start swimming to have the best fresh water swimming experience. Don’t forget to come hear without water proof bag of the phone to capture the experience on camera and also have waterproof bag with you to keep the belongings with you during swim.

Excellent day out. I would suggest going earlier than later. The boat across cost us $1 round trip, but it stops at 530p. It also got a bit chilly as there is swimming involved if you want to get to the third pool and go into the cave chamber. I suggest you bring a towel, water, and possibly a picnic (there is a cafe / food truck. I didn't use it so I can't say what they sold). Also if you are not a good swimmer, you can borrow a life jacket (I don't know if they charge for one). The hike back to the first pool takes 30-45 minutes each way and some spots are slippery. Bring hiking poles if you normally need them. Having said all of the above, I really enjoyed my time at Wadi Shab. Just wish I went earlier so we could have stopped at the nearby sink hole

We visited the wadi and swam to the cave with some family friends 20+ yars ago. One of the Dad's slipped on the waterfall in the cave and broke his leg. He swam out, then with a home made splint hopped out of the wadi on one leg. Took two hours. Then a car drive up to Muscat to hospital.....Quite an adventure

Very unique & pristine beach! Its rounded colorful pebbles instead of regular sand on its shores make it look amazing and adds to the charm of the place. It's spead across a large area and has a wonderful sense of calmness to it. The rock formations on the shore are also pretty amazing. You'll find sea-gulls and a few goats chilling by.
Definitely a must-visit place to sit, walk and relax.

Very difficult to find. You need to exit the motorway right after you pass an old boat. Then drive to the pebble beach, turn left and pass it, drive on the cliff above, and on the right side you'll see a hole in the ground. Climb down the hole, and you'll find yourself in a cave with a nice view of the beach.

Charming place, just don’t forget water protection for your phone, when you swim to the waterfalls

Der absolute Hammer. Was aber in unserer Tourenbeschreibung nicht drin stand war der Fakt, dass man den größten Teil schwimmend zurücklegen muss. Auch sollte man nicht unter Klaustrophobie leiden, der Durchgang durch den Man schwimmen muss ist extrem eng. Aber es lohnt sich!

Its near Tiwi beach, not recommend to go down without expert help or group. You need all wheel drive vehicle to reach on top. You can park your 2 wheel drive near Tiwi beach and reach at mountain by walking. But heavy Walk.

After a long 40 mnts trekking and the cool water of the wadi really hits the spot. At the end of the wadi the cave and the deep pool is really an awesome spot and it will satisfy the whole trip.

Fairly straightforward hike, a bit of walking and swimming. Make sure to wear waterproof shoes, a waterproof bag to keep your belongings, water and snacks.

You can rent a boat for 1 rial and lifejacket for 1 rial at the entrance. Make sure to come early around 7-8am, to enjoy a leisurely hike with just a handful of people. After 9am that there’s just so many people + the parking lot gets completely packed.

The hike starts with a quick boat ride across the river, then 45 min walk along the dry wadi, then it’s about 5-10 min of swimming, till you reach the entrance to the cave.

During the swim there are some places to walk but it’s very slippery so be cautious and take your time. The entrance to the cave might look daunting as it’s really tiny but it’s well worth making it through to see the waterfall inside the cave.

Best place to have fun with your family and friends. You will find a place to go for boat rides just 1/- OMR

Only issue was the guy who is handling the boat rides was very rude specially to expatriate. He is treating Arabs as king and talking to expatriate like dogs I don’t know why. Place is good only he was the issue in that place.

I must visit place in Oman. It is scenic and beautiful. However you need to Trek for 45 mins before you reach the caves and pool. To enter the caves one has to be a good swimmer and should carry their gear. There small pools for people who cant Trek full distance. Also there is a small ferry ride for 1 riyal per person(kids is free) for round trip. It's worth the visit. Go early as last boat back is at 5.30 pm. Also parking is an issue on weekends

Beautiful canyon in the desert! Worth the visit. Be sure to go very early in the morning to avoid the heat and the crowds. The walk to get there is not an easy one, wear trekking shoes and pack extra water.

Amazing adventure, from hiking, swimming in natural pools to entering a mystery waterfall cave everything was just wonderful.
Bring a sea shoe, energy snacks, cold water and a water proof bag if possible. Leave any unecessary stuff at the car.

Very good place for picnic but not with families, especially those who don't like tracking. This is good for bachelors trip.

This trail was beautiful and amazing, a must do when visiting Oman. This comes with some caution and warning. It is an intense 45 hike to the entrance of the water trail. You must bring water with you and some snacks or food for your journey to and from, take frequent breaks.

The actual water trail is beautiful, some parts are deep so prepare for that if you are not a strong swimmer. I did okay going by myself but frequently travel solo. Enjoy!

I would only suggest strong swimmers or those with life jackets to enter the cave. There is nothing to hold on to so you must tread water

What a spectacular place this is. From Muscat city it's around 1 and half hour journey near to wadi sahab (another tourist attraction). Beach is clean and less crowded, water is pure sky blue which makes your photos at this beach feel like it's edited and that's what special about this place. As name suggests this beach is full of pebbles which makes you inner child to come out and play with the pebbles by building pebble towers or rock skipping. This place is best for weekend drive with your buddies.

You can find a lot of people while we were hiking and i didn't enjoyed that much but this cave was worth it, not all people can reach this place it's hard to get

The pebbles. Wowses. You cant help but admire God's greatness even in this beautiful beach...

The best spot in the whole of Oman country. This place is quite a revelation for us as a tourist as it is a cave type lagoon inside the valley and people have to swim to reach there.

Starting with the tour, we got on a short boat ride to the other side of the land. Then there is a trek among rice paddy fields, caves, blue green water valley and plenty of rocks. One of the best trek walks I have done.

Once you have reached the end of the rock bed, we have to swim or walk till waist deep water to reach further. Then the best part of swimming begins to the caves of the valley.

On the other side of the cave, there is a waterfall where we can do rappelling as well. The cave walls are so narrow, you have to do underwater swimming.

People who don't know how to swim, you have to rent a jacket. Water shoes are also somewhat mandatory since there are slippery stones.

Don't miss this place when in Oman.

Wadi Shab is an incredible example of what nature can create. The incredible caves and waterfalls are a sight to behold. The crystal clear waters are inviting and the hike is not too challenging. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience. The best part is that it is easily accessible. The water is calm and the scenery is simply stunning. I'm so glad I got the opportunity to visit this place. It was a truly unforgettable experience.

Awesome place for camping and lot of people comming with their families.Evening is the best time for set up the tent and we can stay night over their and leave after the sunrise. I feel very safe their for camping. Will visit again.❤️

Definitely worth to visit! I would strongly recommend bringing your hiking shoes with you as the rocks are extremely slippery (I wouldn’t manage with sandals). I also suggest bringing water, we came afternoon and there are some places without shade to hide from the sun. Be prepared for 45 minutes walking to reach the natural pool, it can be a bit long but it’s beautiful. The view is gorgeous and the swim is definitely worth.

See the pics and notice the small hole in the ground? That is the entrance to this cave. It’s not for the faint of heart and you will need proper trekking gear to venture in and out of it. BUT, the area around it is simply amazing by itself so don’t hesitate ever to make this your destination.

There are no direct road to the beach, watch out the exit properly, you mat find difficult to locate the place. There is a small off road to reach the breach and you can in Sedan Cars. Off road will be better if you want to take your through the pebbles. Nice place visited in the morning no much rush. People are fishing and put tents over night. Over all a good.

Beautiful different coloured pebbles on the beach. But hard to walk on bare feet. It hurts.
Saw some pufferfish washed up on the shore 😮. The caves are beautiful. Can’t really go in them. They’re not huge. But it’s good to look at

You can find this cave behind the Wadi Shab Resort.It so amazing when you see the heart-shaped cave ,just be careful when gping down in the small hole because the rocks can make a scratch on your skin.

Schöne Wanderung. Aber es gibt immer noch Menschen die ihren Müll (Plastikflaschen, Plastikteller, Papier) einfach liegenlassen. Der Wasserfall ist nur für Schwimmer erreichbar. Ansonsten ein schönes Stück Natur im Felsigen Sur.

This is quite impressive, but if you continue forward then you will be thrown to the ground literally by the beauty the rest of the Wadi has to show to you!
If you would like get a short dip in the warm water here, and then continue forward, as the other pools' waters are not that warm.

Very good location for swimming and hiking through the mountains. On this place first of all you have to take the boat to the other side of wadi Shab canyon. So you can start your journey along the wadi. You will cross between local people farms. Also the you will walk on the awkward way on the mountains. Once you reach the first pool you will start swimming to reach the water fall and the cave. Really you can spend great time in this place. Most important things you have to know how to swim well. Make safety at top level all the time.

An amazing and astonishing place with its natural beauty, A small boat ride to cross to other side and start walking trough the un tamed natural pathways . And cherish the natural water ponds all the way.

Watch out your steps as these could be slippery, follow the arrow marks on the stones to stay on right path.

There are series of pool one after another, we could only reach till first pool after 15mins walk as we had to return back by 5pm to get to the car. As the bot ride closes by 5pm.

Plan to reach early before noon so that you can reach to other pools.Pack some meal and some water as you won’t find anything in the wadi.

If you don’t know swimming, take a life jacket along and the wadis can be very deep. Don’t risk it!

Have fun walking, climbing,swimming and dwelling is the natural beauty of wadi Shab!

Nice walk for a day activity. We arrived at 14:00 which means you walk toward the swimming area in the sun, and can return (after about 2 hours) in the shade... Be prepared to swim, because you will miss the real beauty of this place without it...

Wer nach Muscat kommt, sollte sich dieses Naturwunder nicht entgehen lassen. Der Weg führt entlang eines Flusslaufes (und durch diesen hindurch) zwischen imposanten Felswänden hindurch bis hin zu einer durch einen Wasserfall gespeisten Höhle. Grosser Vorteil: Dieser Wadi ist absolut nicht überlaufen, gleichwohl bietet sich die Buchung eines Guides an.
