Great shore diving location. If you are new to diving this is a cool place to get introduced to cold water diving.
Beautiful place to hike to anytime of the year, just a beautiful spot with amazing views. Hike from the Groto is easy and doesn't take long.

A bit of a hike up from the grotto across the Stoney beach, it can be a bit more difficult to get to due to the terrain, but it’s quieter and also offers some great views! There’s some very cool rock features here that are worth checking out if you can make the extra 45 minutes from the grotto.

The Tugs is an incredible scuba diving spot! Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro, this place has it all. The staff is knowledgeable and supportive, making it perfect for beginners to feel comfortable underwater. And for experienced divers, the wreck diving opportunities are simply thrilling! I had an unforgettable time exploring the underwater world at Tugs. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a remarkable diving experience! 🌊🤿

We hike along the bruce trail and definitely need giood shoes. Part of the trail is rocky beach.
Bit of a climb from the beach but it is maximum around 30 min from Grotto. Lots of bugs and good idea to carry bugs spray.
View is amazing . No access to water from this place.

Wonderful scenic place. Rocky and clear water with native trees. No place like this on earth. You will be amazed and refreshed. The blue heron boat was fun had some ship wreckage.
Magical, when you go it just transports you to another world. It is the most relaxing place on earth.
Beautiful place to visit on a glass bottom ferry. You would love the transparent water and the shipwreck that they show on the way. Experience is fantastic, especially the water color. Visit along with family and enjoy.

The Small Flowerpot was something else. This thing's been shaped by Mother Nature herself over thousands of years, with wind and rain carving out this stunning flowerpot shape. It's not too big, maybe around 12 feet. The top's covered in trees and shrubs that give it this awesome 'flowerpot' look. You just stand there, staring up at it, thinking about all the time and all the elements that had to come together to create this. It's a sight you don't want to miss. Just make sure to snap a photo - trust me, you'll want to remember this!
I trekked up there and it's like being in the presence of history. The lighthouse has been standing strong since 1897, a beacon for passing ships. It's a charming sight - white and wooden, tall and dignified. The best part? The view from near the lighthouse. Looking out over the island and the stunning blue-green waters of Georgian Bay is nothing short of a visual feast. You feel the tranquil vibe of the place, resonating with the echoes of its past. It's a sight to behold, especially when the hues of the sunset dance across the sky. Even though you can't go inside, it's still worth the visit. It's truly delivers a nice view of the Lake Huron!

The Flowerpot Island Lighthouse is a fascinating and historic attraction that is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area. The lighthouse itself is a beautiful and well-preserved example of Canadian maritime history, and its location on top of Flowerpot Island provides visitors with stunning views of the surrounding waters and landscape.

The lighthouse's construction in 1897 was a response to the increasing shipping traffic in the Georgian Bay and the need to guide ships safely through the area's rocky waters. The tower's design, which is made of brick and stone, is both practical and aesthetically pleasing, and its original Fresnel lens is a testament to the ingenuity and innovation of the lighthouse's designers.

One of the best things about visiting the Flowerpot Island Lighthouse is the guided tour, which provides visitors with a wealth of information about the lighthouse's history and operation. The tour includes a climb to the top of the tower, where visitors can see the lighthouse's original Fresnel lens up close and take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

In addition to its historical significance, the Flowerpot Island Lighthouse is also a popular destination for hikers and nature enthusiasts. The island's hiking trails offer a range of scenic and picturesque views, and the island's unique flowerpot rock formations are a must-see attraction.

Overall, the Flowerpot Island Lighthouse is a fascinating and unique attraction that combines history, architecture, and natural beauty into a single destination. Whether you're a history buff, a nature lover, or just looking for a beautiful place to visit, the Flowerpot Island Lighthouse is definitely worth adding to your itinerary.
Very interesting hike! We were able to do it with an older gentleman and a toddler, so the trail is great for young and old. Highly recommend if you enjoy a nice walk in the woods

A nice walk away from the boat pier. Besides the amazing rock formation the turquoise crystal clear water is so inviting for swimming and snorkeling.

Very easy and accessible snorkeling for even first timers. No boat traffic at all and several wrecks to check out all within close proximity. I'd recommend 1-2 hours for a nice visit with enough time to view all wrecks.
Very great landscape, you can feel the natural power from the flowerpots and the caves. The water is so clear and perfect temperature to stay in the water at summer time. The tail is actually very suitable for young kids burn energy, not easy but very fun. 2.5 hours between the cruise is the minimum…..

Small flowerpot rock is very close to the big one so you start by this one along the trail, then you'll get access to the large flowerpot.
The place is completely open, you can access to the rock, touch it, climb it... even take a swim next to it, water is crystal clear.

First stop on hiking Flowerpot Island was a close-up of the Small Flowerpot. You have to step on stones to get close to the Flowerpot and take that selfie or groupie.

We were on the island from 11 am to 2:30, enough time to explore and hike the island.

One lady who worked there was kind enough to identify two wildflowers I took photos of: columbine and Fringed polygala.

It is recommended that you stay on the island for at least 4 hours to hike and see the attractions.
The Heritage Lighthouse is at the tip of the Island and there is a trail leading up to it. Some of the hikers we met said they saw snakes and that we should stay on the trail.

I did see a harmless garter snake cross my path.

The museum was closed but there were benches by the beach and you could just gaze into infinity into the clear waters and watch the cruise ships arriving on the island.

Reminder, Tobermory is busy during the summer months so try to go off-peak season (June) and during the week.
Very neat trail to see a rare ecosystem!
I was a little worried about parking but there is about two spots to park right at the sign where the trail starts.

Hiking here from the grotto is not a challenge like the map indicates, as long as you have sure footing (due to the rocky beach) you will enjoy the spectacular views along the hike as the trail takes you up and over the cliffs, the first sight you will see is the hidden swimming cave from above before you make your way across the rocky beach and up into the hills. Once you reach the point you can walk 3 minutes further if you want a good place to take pictures of your friends who are sitting on the overhanging point. Overall very recommended, spectacular views and an enjoyable hike!

Jan 2022 - Although the highlight of Bruce Peninsula Provincial Park is the Grotto, the overhanging point is definitely worth the hike, even during the winter. You get much higher relatively to the other portions of the park, and you get some very neat views you wouldn't elsewhere. It's likely only an extra 30min one way from the Boulder Beach with many viewing points along the way!

Great diving for beginners, easy to find the ship wrecks, and nice deck area for getting diving gear on, plus parking is pretty easy to find

Very clean water.
Warm at this time.
Easy access and convenient parking location.
Nice to snorkel or swim. You can see the wreck about a 300 ft swim from shore.
Beautiful views. Staff are friendly and helpful. Trails could be marked better.
Beautiful and peaceful place. It's almost 1 hr trail there as well. But we couldn't see the caves as it was under construction. There are 2 flowerpot kind of thing, one is small than other. The island also has snakes and lot of squirrel.

Beautiful views! Walked walked from our campsite to overhanging point with a recommendation from who checked us in that we should go for sunset.
Since everything is rocky during the walk, it took much longer than they estimated.
Even so, what a beautiful sunset view!
If you do it during that time, make sure you walk back before it’s too dark and bring good lighting for your way back.
Amazing place to see the beauty of nature.
This is a WOW!!place
