Absolutely stunning views by the water with a nice walkable path through private, shaded and sunny garden areas. Well groomed, individual memory gardens are a beautiful tribute to the memories of the people of De Tour.
Beautiful garden, great views
Beautiful views and many nice places to sit and enjoy creation.
Certainly worth visiting!
It’s ok. Nice views of the water. Flowers were nice.
This is a great place to chill and look at the beautiful scenery. The island across the way has a shipwreck and is fun to see by kayak. Botanical Gardens has benches to sit on and relax and a guest book to sign. Thank you for having a clean garden!
Perfect place to visit while waiting for the ferry! Lots to see and paths to walk on
Much better taken care of this year! It's a beautiful & relaxing setting with lots of different flowers native & non-native.
Definitely worth stopping! Right outside of Detour. The trail is very nicely groomed and easy to walk. On the lefthand side of the trail is a path to the beach with great views. The beach is very rocky, so make sure you have shoes with good grip.
If your in the area worth stopping and taking the short hike. Walk down a gated dirt road, couple of side trails to the water. Walking to the both side trails and back was an easy 1 mile.
Nice walk on a two track. Two chances to get to the water. The road ends at private property, not Lake Huron. A little disappointing.
Beautiful as always nothing like a relaxing stroll through

Possibly the most picturesque of the UP islands, Pipe is the perfect place for your next destination wedding. From vintage Sears cabins to the Boathouse Theater, guests will enthralled at every step. Your party will be perfectly complimented by victorian caretakers home backdropped with the islands original lighthouse. No greater pleasure will you find than spending meals together in the communal kitchen and living areas as you and your family watch lake traffic drift idly past your private and protected dock. I dream of Pipe island every summer.
No people in November. Had a wonderful peaceful walk on beautiful beach
Nice little place to see the water and beach. Scenery is beautiful. The walk all the way back was farther than we thought. We took the 2 side trails to see either side, but it was worth the trip.
Easy way to see Lake Huron on either side of the peninsula. Once you pass the two side trails that lead to the beaches, there is no point to continue. After about a mile, you'll just come to a chained off road with a no trespassing sign.
Enjoyed a nice stroll down the lane. Spent a couple hours relaxing on the beach on the west side. Had the whole place to ourselves.
Beautiful community garden in a gorgeous small town. Good looking arrangements and awesome views along the water front. Stop by before getting on the ferry.
DeTour Village is where the Drummond Island ferry leaves from. DeTour has a population of 321 people. Yesterday we saw a sign for the DeTour Village Botanical Gardens. Today we went and checked it out. The garden is maintained by volunteers and contributions. Many of the gardens are memorials. Beautiful location, right on the St. Mary's River. It is a serene place. Proving that you don't need a lot of people to make the world a better place.
