Really pretty little beach. The grotto has a lot of driftwood in it so you have to be pretty determined to go all the way into the cave.

I love it when we have heatwaves in the fall. It gets warm and stays clear at the beaches here. Beautiful wave, and almost no people.

I was recommended to check out this please from the front of mine. Decided to take my electric unicycle and ride the cliffs trail. My friend and I had an amazing time. I would highly recommend this location.

Currently a bit overgrown and messy (many random branches that look like they have been washed up), but still quite pretty.

Remember that it's on the right side when you go down the path. The grove is 70% blocked by a tree/bush.

Fern Grotto Beach is a great place to hike to at Wilder Ranch State Park. The hidden grotto is an awesome sight to see and explore and is lush with vibrant plants and ivys. The hike Fern Grotto Beach is about a mile long but follows the coastline with great scenic views.
Fascinating small beach surrounded by cliffs. The sand was largely covered with kelp when I visited in June 2021, but the beach has a beauty of its own. I was particularly struck by the presence of pigeon guillemots, a seabird that exists only on the pacific rim. These birds nest in the cliffs and can be seen flying in and out frequently, sometimes going out to sea to divebomb for food. It's an easy walk down from the Old Cove Landing Trail in Wilder. There is also an abundance of flora up and down the cliffs.

One of the beaches near Wilder Ranch State Park. It is fairly secluded. Great for walking, jogging, and biking. The view of the bluff and cliff is breathtaking. It look very different during a calm day and a windy day. Lots of birds and sea lions along the way.
This is one of favorite places in Santa Cruz! The rigged cliffs are so pictorial! Love to come here in all seasons. Please remember to get in through the wilder ranch state park.

One of my favorite pieces of earth! Been coming here for about 18+ years, and have shared with hundreds of friends And family!!
I've seen whales, dolphins, sharks and pet a wild sea lion here.
Today, i had the whole beach and coast all too myself in 75 degree weather! Beautiful beach to relax or run the coast from.

Good place to beach.
Lovely, quiet, little beach right off of a trail from Wilder Ranch State Park. The trail down to the beach is very steep , a little overgrown and at times slippery. Not a trail for strollers. There are some small cave like spots and nesting birds.
