My experience was overall negative. The mandatory app is awful. It forced me to spend the whole dinner looking at my phone instead of enjoying my meal, and I spent quite some minutes without eating nor having the possibility to order, just waiting for time to pass. Since you can only order 4 dishes every 10 mins, the system drives you to prioritize "large dishes" (such as noodles). I wanted the sushi but one dish is literally ONE nigiri. So you can technically order 4 nigiri dishes, but you will get only 4 nigiri and you will need to wait 10 mins to order more food. In addition, the quality of the fish was extremely low, so I just gave up the sushi for cooked dishes. I heard other clients in the restaurant complaining about the taste of the fish. Water costs like 6-7€ so at the end the minimum is 45€ per for a dinner, which is way too much imho to eat a few low-quality nigiri and a lot of vegetables/noodles. Some plates (e.g. sashimi) are charged extra, as well as sweets and all the drinks. On the other side, pleasant ambient and kind waiters.

We went here before, and we enjoyed food, so we wanted to visit again. But this time we were “greeted” by a waitress who did not want to deal with us. We did not reserve a table and asked if it was possible to dine in, as half of the restaurant was empty. She said that’s not possible and then waived to me as if I should have waited. She seemed kind of busy with two other customers, so I waited. Then she looked at me astonished and asked what I was still doing there.
We left really disappointed. The same information could have been communicated in a much more friendly way.

Very good food and fast service. The premises are neat and there is a nice atmosphere. One server was a bit rude and rushing us to get some drinks, but other than that the service was good. Buffet is 20€ but you have to take a drink so keep that in mind. I will go again

really good all you can eat restaurant, the quality of the food is worth it for the price you pay. the desserts section is nice too, maybe add some mochi’s or cheesecakes. the rib eye is quite tasty and the variety of sushi is great. i will return!

Service was good but the sushi is really basic: thick sushi with a lot of rice and very little filling. We didn’t really enjoy it

Decent place for sushi. Very nice staff and super adequate pricing. It's nothing super fancy or special just a very solid sushi place with well made rolls.

I had sushibox 3 and my partner had the bentobox ebi. The sushibox comes with one of three sides: cucumber salad, spring rolls or wakame. I took the spring rolls. Additionally I had a miso soup as a starter.

My wife and I had a great evening at this restaurant. The 5 course menu for the duck was very creative and delicious.
The whole team was super friendly but special shout out to the bartender Mara who was extra kind and boosted the experience there with his tips and great cocktails.

Rices are not fresh and fishes started to bad smelling. Service is fast, tastes are not good.

This is an all-you-can-eat restaurant with a variety of foods to choose from. I have always enjoyed it. I have mainly visited the Rotterdam branch, which is located in the center of the city, a bit away from the shopping center (not far). The people are friendly and quick. Compared to other similar restaurants, I think it is expensive but okay. Prepare yourself for an extended food party and enjoy.

Loved the food, the staff is very friendly and an overall cozy atmosphere. It has become our casual eating place. Highly recommend

Friendly workers, but quite bad “sushi” that led to a fair amount of disappointment. The rice was too sweet, the ingredients definitely not fresh. The tuna (if it even was tuna) looked anemic. The fish-to-rice ratio was quite poor (I have pictures if needed). The only good thing was that the sushi somehow was not foul-smelling, which bad sushi does tend to be. One star for that. Now it was cheap, but it was not cheap enough for Iyumi to be able to get away with quality this bad.

I ordered from there because my regular sushi spots were closed for the holidays, relying on the positive reviews. Then when I checked them more closely, the positive reviews were from years and years ago.

So reader beware: definitely avoid this place. I regret buying as much as I did. They even forgot one item I had ordered, which is probably for the best 😂

Edit: ended up having food poisoning the very next day, which I contacted Iyumi about. Caused me a very bad day at work. Never got a reply!! The positive reviews for this place were probably paid for.

The staff, the food and the overall experience has been 11/10. Considering we are tourists, the staff have been so helpful in making us feel welcome and Park explained the food choices pretty comprehensively. We went for the duck dishes in the end we couldn't have been more happy with our choice. The presentation of all courses, from the two starters, to the 3 main courses to the assorted desserts was fantastic. I will definitely be recommending this place to friends! Even the harder to please people within the group were pleased!

Very good food and quality of service, as expected form a Michelin star chef! We ordered the 35€ menu (2 plates per person) and it was well worth the money, very good variety of plates and tastes. Only Turn of the atmosphere isn’t as “Michelin star worth” to the food. We will come back if we come again to Rotterdam.

What a fun place to have dinner. We really enjoyed the social dining concept, which allowed us to try almost all dishes on the menu. I would go for the Bib Gourmand menu and then select as many dishes as possible depending on your group size.

It is also a great feature that those who don't drink alcohol, can get a tea pairing with the food.

I will definitely be back.

We had the 3 course Michelin menu. The food was fantastic, really refined and tasteful. With the 3 course that had 2 plates every course we had plenty of food. Service was good. Atmosphere could be a bit better. For a place that serves multiple dishes at the same time the tables were a bit small.

We had the four-course preset menu alongside wine paring and some cocktails. All in all, we liked the experience and the food was satisfying in both taste and portion.

Food at Umami is creative, some being a bit generic but some being quite tasteful. We really like the shrimp with tomato sauce, it really felt like a good fusion between Eastern and Western food. The potato and carrot was delicious, I wanted to ask for more.

Wine paring was rather disappointing, or should I say we expected a little more. It was not bad paring but somehow didn’t enhance the food that was served. Maybe Asian food has too much character that the wine with it feels a bit off? Cocktails were fine, not too special. Go for Gin based cocktail and it’s safe.

The service was good, staffs were attentive when needed. They didn’t pay special attention to each table but the service was smooth and everybody was kind and smiley. The atmosphere is not bad, although the acoustic made it difficult to understand everything. Also the entrance part of the restaurant has better lighting and inviting feel to it, compared to the ones we sat near the toilet.

I think it is an interesting restaurant if you like trying different dishes with creative twist in it. Considering that it is a course meal, the price is also not too bad.

The service was spectacular and the food was truly a unique and delicious experience. There were definitely a few weird moments but there was also a sense of adventure and exploration to the food and flavors. I absolutely recommend people try this place out a few times and if you're adventurous don't be afraid to get the Michelin courses!

Just had dinner here a second time with a group of friends. Great evening with cozy atmosphere, tasty food and attentive service. Highly recommended for a fun date night or an outing with friends.

Great Asian fusion restaurant with social dining concept. It even comes at a very affordable price. Great for a date or sharing all the dishes with a group of friends.
Very professional and friendly staff in a quiet environment in the center of Rotterdam. Definitely worth a visit.

Umami by Han serves amazingly intricate Asian fusion dishes. We had three rounds where each of us ordered two dishes (sharing is recommended!).

We absolutely loved each round especially the first one. All of the dishes are well thought out and taste incredible. In the last round you also get a portion of rice, so dinner was very filling!

The sushi here is not only delicious but also reasonably priced. Our first experience with takeout was so satisfying that we returned for a dine-in dinner. The service was truly exceptional, making it an all-around fantastic dining choice.

Not the best Shabu Shabu, or ayce restaurant in the city. But food was decent, service was decent and the place could be cleaner.

It really depends what you order here. Grill dishes taste well, but the sushi can really improve. More variations and better quality dishes.

I hope they were just having a bad day, since some of the other dishes were way too salty and not fresh.

The host was friendly and they do serve fast. But the rest of the staff could really smile or communicate more.

Very nice restaurant, a bit hidden in the city center. Good ambiance. Very helpful and friendly staf. We had the chefs menu. 5 courses (which are quite good in proportion). You can tailor if you don’t want certain things. The duck is great. The bento box is nice. But my recommendation would be the calf sucade beef in red curry, tasted really great! Als there is a large selection of wines, the dishes are paired very well, the owner knows his wines. We will come back for sure!

Peking duck was the highlight of the evening! The best one I have ever had in this part of Europe! The dishes were well presented and were delicious.

The service was warm and attentive. The breaks between the first two courses were a bit long, but the Main Course totally won us over.

The dessert had unique elements and was a wonderful combination of flavors.

Was wondering what happens to the rest of the duck at the end? But oh well, it was a lovely evening thanks to the Chef and staff! Definitely recommend the 4/5 course Peking duck menu. I will visit again!

Cam here for the Peking duck 5 way menu for a celebration. The food was savory and fantastic. While the dinner took awhile for 5 courses it’s was faster than many other Dutch tasting menu restaurants. This is a unique experience that I haven’t had in 10 years in Singapore. This was on par with the Peking duck I had in Singapore. The bring the Duck table side for the first course and carve it up in front of you. I was absolutely stuffed when I left. Service was good. Fantastic food even for those who don’t like Chinese or haven’t had Chinese before. Highly recommend for a unique experience or special occasion. Menu was reasonably priced.

Initially, we went for dinner but the place was really really packed. We came back the next day for lunch instead.

The easier who waited on us was quite patient. We dint speak Dutch and his English was accented. He explained the concept, the price, the specials and how to order. The food was fresh, yummy and the waiting time was short.

Recommended for anyone who loves sushi and sashimi - but please make a reservation, especially for dinner, as they can be very packed.

I went to Chung many many times while living in Rotterdam and I still have really good memories about it as an original and fancy place to go dinner.

They serve a “duck menu” consisting on three or four courses based in duck. If you enjoy eating and gastronomy, I’d recommend the four courses menu. Top quality of the food served in a beautiful and caressed way.

One of the places I’d recommend to go out in Rotterdam for fine dining.

Not too crowded, quite busy for a Monday, nice surroundings, service was very gentle and polite. The 4-course Chef's Menu was good as expected. Highly recommended.

This Japanese restaurant has simple decor and delicious food.
We tried several of their sushi options and they were all very tasty and I really liked the fact that all the staff members were women.
