Absolutely stunning food. Me and my daughter went for dinner we had a buggy and they could not be any more helpful the 2 men carried the buggy up and back down the stairs for for us. They were all really polite and very pleasant. Fabulous food and absolutely amazing staff. 10/10 will defo be returning…

We've chosen Chaophraya for our celebratory dinner after our wedding ceremony about two weeks ago and it was the best decision. Thanks to the kindness of the management we've had the privilege of dining in the private room, the Thai Garden and it was just beautiful. The food and the atmosphere were top notch and the team members looking after us were absolutely amazing, so lovely and professional. We'll be recommending Chaophraya to everyone and we will definitely be back for some more tasty food and lovely views ☺️

Authentic, and delicious. You could tell the good quality ingredients, especially the meat (which there was plenty of). The food was cooked fresh to order, and the restaurant itself was lovely, including an outside/rooftop bit, which I will definitely look at next time. The food was expensive, but also definitely worth the price!!! All in all, a lovely meal, and I will definitely be back soon. Also, definitely get the chaophraya starter platter, it is delicious. 👍👍👍

Nice location in central Newcastle with great views over the city. Staff are friendly and food is fine, but not the best Thai I’ve ever had. Also very pricey!

If you want to treat yourself or someone this place has authentic Thai cuisine and decor to go with it. Though quite large it still feels cosy. Attentive staff. Food is excellent quality but you have to pay for it.

Chose this place on recommendation and location close to the arena. Lovely food let down by poor service on this occasion. Had to request cutlery, requests for water were ignored and were charged for prawn crackers that we never received. First time visiting and it was busy. Prices at the higher end but I would definitely go back, overall good experience

Brilliant valentines banquet sharing menu, me and my girlfriend particularly enjoyed the salt and pepper prawns. As well as the spring rolls to start. Fantastic to get to try different things and share, all large portions. Service was fairly efficient for a busy evening, only let down by the price at almost £150 and a fairly perplexing £15 service charge

Me and my partner went for a meal here for Valentine’s Day. We were accompanied by Sean, who made both of us feel very welcomed from the start. This has been our second time coming to this restaurant and Sean has been there to assist us.

Me and my partner got the valentines set menu Amour- it was really good. We were both so full! Sean, made our night even more special by his complimentary Mango mousse! It was delicious. My partner said that this will be his second go to dessert after Crème Brûlée.

The restaurant looks nice, nothing that will blow you away but still pleasant enough. We were seated straight away and greeted by our server, honestly he had a bit of an attitude problem. I get that everyone has an off night but even after being really friendly towards him he was still being borderline rude. The food was decent and you can tell it's all fresh but I wouldn't say the flavours and dishes match with the price. There are definitely better Thai restaurants in Newcastle where you are paying a fourth of the price for equal if not better food. I'd say what you're really paying for is the experience and it's a shame ours was let down by our server. (The espresso martini was also a bit of a let down being extremely sweet).

If you know. You know. Incredible Thai restaurant hidden away from the crowds of the city and quayside. Easily the best ‘fine’ Thai dining experience in the North East. large menu so there’s something for everyone, food was exceptional and so was the service.

Always love coming here the food is always amazing and the staff are probably the best I've seen in any restaurant who will go out of their way for you. It's a little more expensive than alot of Thai restaurants but you ultimately are paying for the very well kept restaurant and brilliant service from the staff so it's worth it.

We visited Chaophraya for an anniversary. The service was amazing and fast. The staff were friendly and advised on dietary requirements. We ordered the Chaophraya starter selection which was delicious. The chicken tacos and tempura prawns were especially good. The pad ka prao with pork had the perfect level of spice and a lovely rich savory taste. Unfortunately I did not enjoy the pad Thai, I felt it lacked flavor and fell too sweet for me. Despite that I highly recommend this restaurant.

First time visit. Nice decor, lighting nice and mellow, not feeling like you are being interrogated in some places. Staff are very attentive, polite and friendly from when you first walk in. Food was is well cooked and presented, absolutely no complaints for the food. The price is more on the steep side, but it is good value because of the quality. We will return!!

The food was good but with a price comparison against other Thai restaurants I have dined at, the quality was not as worthy of the price. Their price is relatively standard, so I am not saying it is expensive 😊

The service was excellent. The staff were very accommodating, attentive and polite, they also made sure we were aware of the discounts, cheaper options and the menu options.

The atmosphere is probably the best selling point. Stunning, quiet and low lit Thai restaurant. The restaurant is on the top floor of Eldon square which is accessible by lift, so you have some beautiful window views of the city which is perfect on the evening.

There are plenty of vegetarian/vegan options.

I would recommend going Chaophraya and I will likely come here again.

The ambience was top notch with the view from the window seats. Papaya salad and basil fried pork were not bad, but did not stand out as much as I expected in terms of spice/flavour. The pineapple fried rice could do with more wok hei but was otherwise delicious.

Waiters did not let us know beforehand that the prawn crackers would be subjected to extra charges, but were very polite. Would still come back again.

The key call out for this restaurant is the service which is excellent. The staff were pleasant, polite and professional. The food was good and the atmosphere is perfect if want to go for a relaxing meal and being able to have a chat.
I would strongly recommend the espresso martinis as they were one of the best I've ever had.
