I can't say anything bad about this place the owner is definitely a real good guy and we had an awesome conversation first place I've ever seen around here with an Italian beef sandwich and Chicago hot dog I'm definitely surprised with the authenticity of the Italian beef place is definitely a Hidden Gem

When I heard that there was a restaurant near Boston that had some Chicago style food, I knew I had to check it out. It’s the only restaurant in the area I’ve seen that makes their own Italian beef. It did NOT disappoint and I was quite impressed. This was the real deal.

The beef was perfectly thin and soaked in gravy, the sweet peppers were correctly cooked and seasoned just the way it’s done in Chicago, and the giardiniera (available in hot and mild)was the exact brand that you’d get from Portillo’s. They even brought out a little container of gravy for us to pour according to our preference. The roll itself could have been a bit larger, but overall it was incredibly delicious and even better than many Chicago restaurants I’ve been to. I also tried the Chicago dog and it was also exactly what you’d get from the best hot dog stands in Chicago. A steamed poppyseed bun, Vienna beef hot dog, sport peppers, neon green relish, and all the fixings. Perfectly balanced and incredibly delicious. The fries were perfectly crispy on the outside, well seasoned, and fresh.

There was plenty of free parking in the attached lot. The inside of the restaurant isn’t very large but there were plenty of seats available when we got there. The owners were so friendly and personable. After you order your food they will have you take a seat and have you pay after you’ve eaten. They have a unique selection of drinks and snacks available as they also function as a European market. There were unique sodas that I look forward to trying on future visits as well as bottled giardiniera if you want to take some home. I highly recommend stopping here for the high quality beef sandwiches and the incredible service. I will most definitely be back to try out the rest of the menu if I can bring myself to stray from my favorite Chicago dishes.

I stopped by because I am new to the area and have been searching for new, interesting non-chain restaurants. This is a real find.
The food is set up at the front of the restaurant. You look at all of the choices and then, depending on the size of the meal you want and how hungry you are, you let them know which items you want.
I've tried the borscht and the chicken dumpling soup. Both were fantastic. The chicken dumpling soup is unlike anything else I have tried. The broth is flavorful and golden. There is nothing in the broth but the fat dumplings. The dumplings are stuffed with seasoned ground chicken. My god, they are so good.
I have gotten the chopped green salad a few times because it's really good. My favorite salad there so far is the marinated mushrooms. I could die.
For mains, I've had the stuffed cabbage and the sausage, both fantastic.
Prices are totally reasonable and the people who own the restaurant are lovely. I'd like to see if they are interested in adopting a fully grown woman. ;)
There's a small, free parking lot right out front.

Delicious food, hidden gem of natick. Italian beef is the best sandwich in the whole town, very unique and flavorful. Lots of variety here, great people who run it. Highly recommend. Also fries are super crunchy, if you like that which I do.

This place was absolutely awesome! An interesting combination of food items. A Russian based menu with an Owner that was not only a Gracious Hostess but loved to share the details of each Culinary Delicacy! Same was true of the Chef behind the counter as well! This place is one that should not be missed if you're in the area! The lamb I had was tremendous!

Rueben and pastrami had a lot of grizzle. Prices are too high, portions small. One can get equally nutritious meals at much lower cost elsewhere. We went because we wanted to try Jewish cuisine. Fries were crisp, tasty. Blintzes and potato pancake were good. Had to wait more than 20 mins for takeout order. $2.45 for small coffee which was terrible

Tiny place. Pretty good good that is advice average. The chopped liver was ok and much better at Reins deli in Vernon CT. My wifes and friends meals were quite good. They all had breakfasts. The bagel chips and spread were awesome.

As a native Chicagoian, I cannot stress how much of an absolute honor and a privilege it is to have found this establishment. Not only did they make me a very hard to get (outside Chicago area) Italian beef but it was one of the best I've ever experienced. What an incredible treat this is.

Highly recommended to everyone and I will be a regular here.

Friends told me that we needed to try the roast beef sandwich, wasn’t disappointed, it was pretty amazing. Also ordered the chicken caprice sandwich that came in a close second. Live right around the corner. I forgot how wonderful their food is. Will become a frequent flyer, next on the list is to try one of their hotdogs. The owner was very nice. In fact, I greatly respect the fact that when I paid, I was simply given a receipt and not a receipt to sign so a tip could be added .

Best Chicago style beef sandwich I've had outside of Chicago! This was awesome really good job everything looks homemade in this place

Zaftigs is a great place for "comfort food". Their sandwiches are delicious, and the staff and atmosphere matched, with attentive servers and quick seating.

The menu is large, with options for almost anyone. We came for lunch and I couldn't decide between breakfast or lunch so I got the Monte Cristo and was not disappointed!

Try one of their many sandwiches if you're not sure what to get.

Ordered Italian beef sandwich. The food was great and I enjoyed my portion very well.

I’ve been eating at Zaftigs for years. My favorite things to get are
1. the grilled banana bread - always start with that
2. The rough rider omelette - corned beef
3. The reuben sandwich

I never go wrong with those. They used to give bagel chips when you were seated but doesn’t look like they still do. That’s too bad.

Service is friendly and quick. Restaurant isn’t much to look at but nothing bad enough to take a star away.

I came here on a random Saturday afternoon when we decided we didn't want sushi. Haven't been here in quite a while. It hasn't changed. And that's a good thing. The coffee was nice and hot.

We got knishes. One meat one potato. Flavorful and wonderful, I'll be at a little on the small side for me. But very light and not.
We both ordered Reuben sandwiches. I got mine with coleslaw. He got his with fries. Again, super flavorful just the right size and I don't even know how to explain that they didn't taste heavy? Even the coleslaw was light and airy. The waitress gave us a little surprise bit of potato salad, cause hubby had mentioned he liked it, but didn't order it.

Her name is Julie . She's a true gem for the company.

I have been in Natick for 6 years and only tried culinary delight the first time today, and I had the Italian beef sandwich. All I can say is that I want the last 6 years back! This is easily the best beef sandwich I have ever had! You have to try it!

Stopped here on a whim. Everything was delicious. Had Chicken Kabobs with a Chopped Salad. Also the Chicago Beef Sandwich with Cole Slaw. The owner explained how they prepare their food and was open to questions and customized our lunches. Eat first, pay after. Very tasty, seasoning was great!

For my husband, Ed's 75th birthday, Alex orchestrated delivery from Natick MA to Warwick RI for our celebration. Everything we got was perfectly done to make my life easy and serve delicious food. Close to closing, I was there around 4pm. Owner served me. I had precooked chicken schnitzel not authentic schnitzels, that were nuked to heat up. Wasn't very tasty. I had 5 suffed cabbages (3 1/2 - 4")was ok. Nothing to rave about. There were meatballs but I decided not to try. I got a Greek salad to go-q was skimpy on the Greek olives, peppers & cheese for $9.Owner said breakfast also is served. You tell him what you want & he'll try to prepare. Didn't have time to go for breakfast.

Such a cute place with really great kosher deli style fare . You can sit at the bar or be seated. We got the latkes with salmon and I got some poached eggs to make a Benedict kind of thing which was so yummy !! My S/O got pastrami omelet and we both left happy and full. Portions are generous . Would return if ever in town again

Really enjoyed our brunch at Zaftigs. The Eggs Benedict were fantastic. The only problem I have is that 3 slices of bacon costs $4 (as of February 2022). That’s an insane price to pay for bacon, so I won’t be making that mistake again. Service was great and our food was prepared as ordered.

This place is indeed a delight. Thank you to the Local Guides that helped lead us here. Convenient location and friendly, informative service - it's always nice to get to talk with the person who's preparing your meal, and since everything here seems to be made from scratch, you're talking with the real authority. The Crazy Russian was a beautifully made grilled sandwich full of complementary flavors. The chopped green salad and a cup of the chicken soup made my wife very happy. Grab some Russian candy to have as a post-meal treat. I'm looking forward to multiple return visits to try some of the other things on the menu.
