I'm very grateful to have found this hospital. Dr. Michael is the best, he did an urgent splenectomy on my fur baby and was the only one that offered to help out in my "out of the ordinary" situation (and my dog was not a patient yet). I truly appreciate his willingness & dedication to help out a new patient. Everyone there is great! My fur baby Never is slowly recuperating and he's not in pain anymore. Thank you Dr. Michael, Dr. Mark and everyone else that helped to take care of Never while he was there. Many blessings to all of you always :)
I’m relieved to see another 1 star review of Dr. James Colwill who was dismissive with another patient and their cat ultimately passed away.

This place is weird and I’m surprised to see the good reviews. The front desk staff both looked liked they hated being there and could barely muster up a smile or hello, very monotone demeanor which is distressing when your pet is in crisis.

Colwill seemed unconcerned with our pets issue and brushed it off as THC poisoning and didn’t care to hear anything else about what we might think was happening. He got defensive when we showed him a photo of what our dog ate which looked animal like(could have been a rat/rat poison) And acted like it was the biggest inconvenience to answer any more of our questions. He was so rude and dismissive , my husband and I left feeling jaded and at a loss for words. Our normal vet is extremely thoughtful and are sure to ask us if we have any more concerns and takes the time to listen, so we were shocked when this man had no desire to put us at ease.

When they brought our dog back they took our leash and we had to knock on their door to get it back. Our dog also peed out of fear and instead of Colwill letting us know she had peed he just said “Oh your dogs scared of being picked up”, yea because she’s an animal who is in distress and has never seen you? I had to ask if she peed because she smelled awful, they didn’t even have the common courtesy to let us know. I also caught Colwill checking out my husband when he should have been taking my dogs vitals and looking at her! So bizarre.

Overall this place seems more concerned with their aesthetic than care for animals. Everyone was very cold, it’s like if a wannabe instagram influencer opened up a vet for photo ops. Take your animals to Primary Care Animal Hospital, they actually care about your pets and treat them as their own with enthusiasm and love. Two things this place is severely lacking.
All I can say is Wow! After doing my research and consulting with other veterinary practices in the area. Ambassador Vet Hospital is by far the best choice I could have made. Not only was the front desk staff welcoming and helpful. The Doctor, specifically Dr.Michael Shenouda went well beyond his duty to assure me and my family that my best friend Milo (9 month ) Lab Retriever was in good hands and was being provided with the best care… they conducted a FHO surgery on him and I couldn’t be happier with the results and treatments after. I finally have my boy back to normal. Truly thankful to have stumbled across such great people. Needless to say I will be coming here for the rest of my life.
Great service and pricing!
My dog had surgery on her ear and Dr.Michael took care of us. I was impressed most by his follow-up and he made sure everything was smooth through out her 3 weeks recovery process. Nothing but great things to say. Friendly, kind, and understanding.
Thank you Dr. Michael!
My 14 year old bengal was having difficulty breathing so I called around and LB Animal ER was the place that could see him immediately. He was having cardiac failure but they were able to get him in as soon as I got there and saved his life. I was so impressed with the entire staff's empathy and how quickly they took care of my fur baby. They called me to keep me updated and made sure I was comfortable and understood the treatment plan and options. Yes, it's expensive but so is any emergency care. They refunded me for the services=. Clients need to understand that you're getting emergency care by professionals (just like a human ER). It's expensive if you don't have insurance. I didn't feel like any costs were outrageous. They saved my cat's life and that's priceless to me. I ended up having to take my cat in the morning to another hospital to see a cardiologist and he's home now and doing well. I'm so grateful for the team here and they were all wonderful. 🩷
If you are looking for a Veterinary Care Center look no further. My previous Vet retired and I have been searching for another good Veterinarian. My search is finally over. Ambassador Hospital has excellent customer service, very clean, efficient and good staff with excellent Doctors. I was fortunate enough to get Dr. Michael Shenouda. He is compassionate, Honest, and detailed and provided my fur baby with excellent care. Treats the fur baby and the parent with much dignity and support. I am grateful for him. I can Highly recommend.
Needed emergency vet care recently on a Saturday night when my dog choked on a dog treat. The staff there were so helpful and my dog was taken care of right away. Everyone was friendly and the vet was awesome. I highly recommend Long Beach Animal Emergency if you’re ever in need of emergency vet care. The cost was reasonable too, which is huge! They called a couple of days later for follow up too. Great service
My wife and I had the most amazing experience with Long Beach Animal Hospital. When we took our beloved cat in with a broken pelvis, there was no pressure to have unnecessary tests, scans, labs, etc done to our guy. They stuck with the basics one step at a time rather than to rush to judgement and have us spend a boatload of money for unhelpful services. We only wish they offered after hours help.

Unfortunately our cat was injured during off hours so we suffered the trauma of having to take him to a local 24 hour emergency vet. That vet is a one trick pony. They seem to treat every arriving animal as though they are on the verge of sure death. We knew this was not the case with our cat and the folks at Long Beach Animal Hospital affirmed this. Highly, highly recommend them. If your cat is injured and first taken to emergency, consider getting pain meds only there to get them through the night without suffering and take them to Long Beach Animal Hospital the next day I stead. You will not regret it.
Returned home from a trip to a very sick senior dog. Found this place and so glad I did. Dr Colwill and his staff were so kind and helpful. Thanks to them she is already feeling better.
I highly recommend LB animal emergency for any medical care your pet needs. My dog wasn’t eating so we stopped by on a Sunday around 3pm and the place was pretty busy. They operate like an ER where they will care to higher risk animals. So yes the wait can be long unless your dog is bleeding out, as expected!

We waited 1.5 hrs but as soon as we got a room everything went smoothly and the Dr, her assistant, and my vet tech, Melodie, were amazing! Super friendly and patient with all my questions. I will definitely be back if my dog has an emergency again.

Disclaimer, YES the prices are steep compared to a normal vet but you are getting emergency around the clock care WITHOUT an appt. This type of care and the changing influx of clients they have to deal with are baked into the prices. Just like it would be at an ER. So please manage your expectations accordingly! Otherwise I suggest making an appt at your primary vet if your pet isn’t in any immediate danger.
Front desk was helpful and polite, wait time was long but I was warned before I arrived. Waiting room is clean.
When my kitten was examined the doctor thoroughly explained to me the problem and the solution. Professional and straight to the point. Before I left I was given instructions and staff made sure I thoroughly understood them before we left. I got a callback a few days to see how my kitten was doing which I appreciate.
My kitten was spayed and the following night she tore her stitches and needed to be re-stitched. Total cost including a cone was between 450 and $500. Small price to pay for a middle of the night emergency. Definitely not cheap but reasonable given the situation. I would return to Long Beach emergency hospital.
I first want to say thank you to the entire staff here. I came in with my best friend of 15 yrs a yorkie-poo named Taffi. My baby had been acting weird not wanting to eat & threw up a few times for about a day then the next day she stopped drinking water so I rushed her here because this was the only place I wouldn’t need an appointment. The place was clean & cozy. The front desk lady was so sweet & that’s hard to find in medical offices anymore. I went in to see the vet him & his assistant came in to talk to me about what could/should be done we decided to run all the tests we could & get her some antibiotics & electrolytes. Their bedside manner put me at ease. Everything was gonna cost $900. They advised me they work with a payment plan called scratch pay so I applied & was approved so I left so they could do what needed to be done for her. As I’m coming back they call me & tell me she’s took a turn for the worst & allowed me to come in & say my goodbyes. I was beside myself & the entire staff was so empathetic it was as if my dog was the 1st they’ve ever seen pass. There was no we see this everyday attitude & that was so helpful to my heartache. I’m also beside myself thinking not only did my best friend die but I was gonna have to pay $900 but to my surprise the other front desk lady who was so sweet too said they were only charging me the $100 visit fee & if I wanted them to dispose of her or I do it… no way was I gonna be able to do that so I said for them to. They told me it was $100 for basic cremation no urn etc or $300 for an urn & I got to choose from a few different styles & the company would deliver it for me. I decided that’s the least I could do for my best friend & omg I must say the little urn is darling!!! I tell everyone about this place they are amazing 🩷
We brought in our dog who had ingested my brother’s dog’s Prozac. She had taken a lethal dose and the staff at LB ER animal
Hospital got her in quickly and saved her life. The staff was so warm and kind and the Vets, techs, and support staff communicated often with us. They also let you visit your dog when they are hospitalized overnight. They saved her life and I am so grateful to them!

Thank you!
It took me a few months to write this review, I’m still healing . I’m not sure y’all remember me but my cat was Amsterdam, my mini black cat. I just wanted thank you all so much for your compassion and care until the end 🌈❤️
The staff was awesome. Very friendly. I called requesting pain medication for my dog after my visit on 12/22. I saw Dr. Meina on 12/27 who examine Willie (dog) and he provided him with two injections and meds to take home along with his diagnosis. He was very thorough and showed compassion. Willie is doing better and we have a follow-up appt. in a week. I appreciated the time he took to make sure Willie would be comfortable after he returned home. My earlier comments of Dr. Wisa was edited due to sometimes an interaction between Dr. and pet owner falls short when the owner is cut out of the decision making. I personally appreciate the Dr's opinion but not when information is withheld from me no matter what the reason and my decision to make is removed. Thank you.
We were told to call ahead to notify them that we were coming. However, we still ended up waiting hours to get our pet seen who was quickly deteriorating even though we were the only people in the waiting room.

The vets here may like animals but they LOVE money. Have health insurance or be prepared to take out a second mortgage to pay for their prices. I see prices for the same procedure elsewhere that are 1/3rd the cost of theirs. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to go anywhere else after being poorly recommended this place by another vet.

Also, these people like the sound of their own voice more than letting you spend your final moments with your animal in peace. The small window I had with my dog while he was most alert was lost due to the vet incessantly talking and telling me things that didn't matter and could have been explained earlier. How completely unaware can you be? Overall, the staff was awkward to deal with and seemed unconcerned with the well-being of my animal.

This place seriously needs new management. I would drive to an out-of-state animal hospital before I ever consider coming back here.
Had unexpected emergency with senior citizen neighbors pup. OMG! While on the 405 talking to a LB vet-- who directed us here-- best kept secret folks. Of my 35 years plus as a pet parent-- I will not forget this spot-, in all its essence of pink right down to the TP and pink metal like business cards. Prices were even as expected as I rescue and always get dinged in the ER. Wish I'd known about this place instead of the 2 in Bixby which resulted in my baby's death last year. 😫
Little Tommy thanks you 😘
My wife and I had to have our cat of 18 years euthanized. We couldn't get an appointment with our vet, and they suggested we come to LBAUC. We are so glad we did. They are super compassionate and very caring. The price was reasonable as well. They sent us a lovely sympathy card, and made a very difficult day easier. I can't thank them enough for being there when we needed them most. Thank you for helping our beloved Chilly Kitty to the other side. I highly recommend LBAUC!
The room was dirty not sanitize at all . I took my dog and 2 cats Doctor when in and checked all 3 in less than 3 min. Also , the cats where not weight, I had to ask for them to do it. I dislike that my dog was taken away to another room to receive a vaccine. I'm definitely not taking my pets there again 😒
Unfortunately, visiting an emergency animal hospital means something is wrong with your pet. Twice it’s resulted in making a difficult decision for my fur babies to end their pain. This last time, my new kitten was in distress and the outcome was much better. He’s back home and healthy, happy, and playful. The staff at the LB Animal Emergency Hospital are always compassionate and caring, very open about procedures and prices, and do a wonderful job with the animals they care for. I hope to never have to bring a pet there but know if I do, they will be well taken care of.
I recently had the privilege of taking my Labrador-Pit Bull mix Sasha, and I couldn't be more grateful for the care we received. My dog required eye surgery, and the hospital went above and beyond to provide prompt and compassionate treatment.

Dr. Michael, the attending veterinarian, was not only highly skilled but also incredibly compassionate. They took the time to thoroughly explain the surgical procedure, its risks, and the expected outcome. Their expertise and genuine care instilled confidence in me and reassured me that my dog was in capable hands.

One aspect that truly impressed me was the hospital's commitment to providing immediate care. They understood the urgency of my dog's condition and managed to schedule the surgery for the same day.

Not only did they provided good care, but they also proved to be affordable without compromising quality. As a pet owner, finding affordable veterinary services that don't compromise on excellence can be challenging.

I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking prompt and compassionate veterinary care. The warm and efficient staff, the expertise of Dr. Michael, and the hospital's commitment to affordable excellence make it an outstanding choice. Whether it's an urgent situation or routine check-ups, this is a place where you can trust your furry companion will receive exceptional care.
We had made a morning appointment for July 6 at our regular vet due to our unspayed 12 year-old Jack-Chi (Jack Russell-Chihuahua mix) Adddy aka Moosher having vaginal discharge, but in the late evening of July 5, she started detoriating rapidly (expressing pain, vomiting, lethargy), and we rushed her to Long Beach Animal Urgent Care, arriving at 9:20 pm (closing time was 10 pm).

After examining Moosher, Dr. Colwill did an ultrasound and gave us the diagnosis: Pyometra, a dangerous infection of the uterus. Her condition was already very poor at that point. Emergency surgery performed elsewhere would be very costly and might not have had a fully successful outcome.

It was all very unexpected and shocking. My adult daughter and I cried buckets, and decided that the only option was euthanasia.

When the time came, we were shown into a comforting, pretty room with a small comfortable couch. We held Moosher, petted her, said goodbye, cried more buckets.

Dr. Colwill was extraordinarily compassionate, calm and competent, as was the nurse and receptionist present that night. They all three went above and beyond, never rushing or pressuring us, but showing us and our beloved dog nothing except the utmost respect and kindness. I have never encountered better health professionals, period.

On top of that, Long Beach Animal Urgent Care is spotless, bright, with a very nice color scheme, and plenty of space. All medical and pricing information given to us was concise and conveyed with great tact, and we were given ample time to ask questions.

To have a beloved pet put to sleep is one of the most gut-wrencing experiences one will ever have. My daughter and I are so very grateful to Dr. Colwill and his staff for making our visit with Moosher such an immensely positve one.

Thank you LBAUC!
Beautiful and complete place with one of the most intelligent and fast doctor that I ever met. I have had worked with him in the past, and amazed me how smart and care he is. Also he had saved my cat Sammy’s life in a emergency situation. And he is the one on top of my list of veterinarians to take care of my dog Amanda if she needs help anytime. I am so glad and happy that he has a Pet Hospital - Animal Urgent Care in Long Beach - Califórnia now!
5 star review went to 1 star after a staff member ridiculed and insulted me within an ear shot.
Ambassador is a good animal care facility, clean, good doctors, efficient scheduling, reasonable prices, and great staff... with the exception of one person who insults and mocks a client... then calls several times to try and get me to change my 2 star review.
What kind of professional does that?
Like I said everything about Ambassador is 5 star... EXCEPT just one employee.
And yes I changed the 2 star review..
