Best apartments in Birmingham!!! 5 minutes to downtown, mountain brook, and can walk to downtown Homewood! Just resigned our lease! Staying forever!

DO NOT MOVE HERE. This place deserves a (0). New management took over and decided to start charging for valet trash service, upped the water and also upped the dumpster fees. They are going against the least already in agreement. We have no manager on sight so we have to hunt them down at another property and half the times management is not there. They do not return calls or answer emails. They even refused to sign a registered letter I sent them. There is garbage all over the property that no one picks up. The halls smell like garbage because the valet service is not picking up garbage. The pot smell is ridiculous that comes through the vents. They are illegally adding charges each month even though there are no provisions in lease that say that they can. Drug deals in the parking lot all the time. Cars being broke into. The laundry room is always filthy and none of the washers ever work. Stairwell to parking lot is pitch black due to no working lights (I have complained for (2) years) and there is no lights in the side parking lot. Huge safety issue. They do not care. DO NOT MOVE HERE UNLESS YOU ARE DESPERATE.

If I can give 0 stars I would.. idek where to start! After we got under new management these apts been a sh!t show. First we don’t have a manager so they’re in kahoots with another apt.. maintenance never comes to fix anything unless u find them and ask, the rent people in the office disregards anything u call about and lies and say they will check on it but never do!!! They raised rent so now we’re paying for water which don’t makes sense to me cause now I’m paying almost 1,000 for rent for a 1bed 1 bath… laundry rooms dirty and trash everywhere most of the washers don’t even work or wash good & also multiple car breaks ins which I literally saw with my own two eyes I’m ready for my lease up so I can move cause these apts and management can go to hell

I hate this place with a passion, and impatiently waiting for my lease to be up. Raising rent from 887 to who knows how much with no renovations and only “valet trash” is actually insane. I cant even take a nice hot shower when I want to, but they wanna raise the rent to match the rest of these Homewood apartments…. Absolutely trash, Save yall money and find a better place to live.

This is my first apartment I moved into, and Mrs. Lakesha sure did know how to make me feel comfortable about my decision on it. She is awesome, a great people’s person, and is willing to work with you with anything and any questions you have for her!

The staff at The Moretti at Vulcan Park are top notch! Wynter and Kari answered all our questions, showed multiple units and were always professional and kind. The Moretti is well maintained, secure and boasts great amenities. It is the perfect place for a young professional to live because it is close to SoHo and just a quick drive to downtown or any of the many shops and restaurants on 280.

The maintenance supervisor Via is amazing she keeps the building looking great and handle work orders swiftly and efficiently, Great place to live!!!

These lofts are by far the coolest and nicest lofts downtown. Located in such a fun entertainment district. The property manager is very kind and you can tell he wants you to be happy! The maintenance team is wonderful as well, always very quick to recognize and solve your requests and ensure you happiness. You’ll love the snazzy-ness of this place!

It’s a nice and quiet place. Shelby plus all the other staff are also very helpful. Don’t let the ratings fool you the bad ones are mostly from the last management group!

Worst apt ever ! They never answer the phone! I have to drive all the way to another complex to speaking to someone!HOT water stays hot for 5 minutes then back cold ! Save your money please people its not worth it at all . Im just ready for my lease to be up! I hate this apt

Don’t be fooled by the 4.4 stars. Do your research on these apartment buildings. They should be condemned and rebuilt, no human being should vacate here. The complex’s foundation are sliding down that hill. Live here at your own risk. They take the bad reviews and hide them to the back or delete them if the complaint is to horrific for view/read.. smh

what a cool loft building! The sign out front is the best!

Being here for 3 years; I can say it was my best choice. This is my first apartment since leaving college. It is quite spacious for the pricing. I have a lot of stuff ,so this is a huge plus. I hosted a get together and it was enough space for 15 people to give you a visual. The appliances and upgrades have a luxurious feel to the unit. Like a modern abstract sorta vibe. Management, maintenance, and pest control respect your space and great professionalism! Issues are handled in a timely manner. The area is laid back. The neighbors mind their business, but they're not above speaking or a gesture to acknowledge you. For those that are spiritual/believe in God it is Holy ground. With everything that is going on right now, I highly recommend this place. Even when I move out, it will be my suggestion for someone in need of a place to stay. I hope this helps those looking to find a place to call home or just to pass through.

I wouldn’t refer nobody to move here ever , worst experience of my life for my first apartment, they charge fees & don’t even fix issues , the paint in the tubs peeling like paint off a wall , the park area sucks , no pool , laundry room is dirty all the time , hall ways dirty just all out 0 -10 ! I’m happy my lease is over I would never renew & move back here ever even if it was the last place on earth !!

Theatre Lofts is the definition of luxury & upscale. Of all the apartments I've ever lived in, this is by far the most beautiful. The property managers here, Star and Dalton, are also great. Any time I need anything they are quick to respond and the maintenance crew here is also phenomenal. No complaints at all!! Truly an amazing complex to call home.

Theater Lofts is an amazing place to lease! We've been in the units for the last couple of months and have had a great experience. We worked with Star and Dalton during our apartment search. Both of them were extremely responsive and thorough in communicating what Theater Lofts had to offer. During our move in, Star did an amazing job making sure we had everything we need. We truly have loved our experience thus far and recommend anyone to check out these luxury apartments if they're in search of a new place to call home!

This place is garbage. I’ve never been so excited for my lease to end. We’ve had insane maintenance issues ever since we moved into our “renovated” apartment. The plumbing is broken, the AC went out for two weeks when it was 110, the heat and hot water went out when it was 30. You can’t ever get anyone on the phone or get a response via email. We couldn’t even get into our own mailbox for the first month we lived there. They kept telling us we had to get the post office to rekey it for like $30. Now they’re changing management and no one knows what’s going on. It took forever to figure out how to pay rent and they keep saying they don’t know how to fix our heat and hot water. Trash place run by trash people.

Worst place I have ever lived, hands down. This apartment is a slum run by monkeys in a trench coat. I have never had so many major maintenance issues and been so thoroughly ignored by the a management any place I have ever lived before. The shower did not work for the first week and a half that I lived here, and when they “fixed” it, the faucet was still broken so that water gushes out of the spout while you’re trying to use the shower head. Our AC went out for two weeks in July when there was a heat advisory and they didn't even respond to the issue for the first entire week. Recently there has been a change in management while my husband and I were out of town for our wedding, and I had to play detective for two hours just to figure out where to pay our rent because the portal was down and no one seemed to care to answer their phone or email. No one was even in the office, which was boarded up and empty. Most recently, we lost heat and hot water while it was 30 degrees outside. We still don’t have heat because apparently, the previous management never paid the gas bill. We were told to call the gas company about our individual account, only for the gas company to inform us that our account doesn’t exist. Now of course, the apartment is refusing to take calls again. Even if the management weren’t negligent and incompetent, the buildings flood every time it rains, the roofs leak, and people are constantly trying to break in to your house and car. Don’t bother with this place.

By far the worst residence the staff is never in the office the water is turned off at random times the rent increases almost 100 a year and the quality of living is way past poor the floor boards are uneven the walls are cheaply painted. Pest control doesn’t spray the house thoroughly . And the doors and hinges never close . Very uncooperative and expensive for no reason if I could cut my lease right now I definitely would ! MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE

I'm a sixty eight year old veteran living at Crestview Appartmets. I reported to the rental office the other day that my acc had went out. I suffer from chronic breathing problems so this made it worse. The secretary as if I wanted to set in the office which I thought was so polite. On the same day I reported this they had a serviceman there that evening, which quickly repaired my ac. I just wanted to say Thank You

I lived here for two years and loved it! They are beautiful, spacious apartments with a lot of natural light. Good neighborhood and close to campus. Karley and her staff are amazing! The mantinence guys, Alex and Shannon, are also wonderful and so helpful! Highly recommend living here!

I want to thank Ms. Shelby Henninger. She is Great. She and her staff took care of me and my family after having trouble with another spot that gave us false hope in moving in when we did everything the right way. Then we found Valley Station, Management was Great, the property is Beautiful. The apartments are nice. We got a beautiful 2 bed and 1 bath that Ms. Shelby showed my wife and she felt in love with and she loved that the staff there showed great customer service and courtesy. I dont See why people gave this a bad rating but they are a new management group that took over and they are running it really well and organize.. we look forward to living here and making it our home here since our move from Los Angeles… Thank you Shelby, your really a great person..

They do a really good job at addressing maintenance concerns. I can put in a maintenance request today and it will be done by the next day.

Also the residents for the most part are quiet. You don't hear police or the fire department all day or every day.

I couldn’t love living here more ❤️ Living in a downtown loft apartment is amazing. The natural light is everything to me & it’s just really a dream to call this my home. It's so convenient to be right in the heart of the city, and Kim & Chris are beyond fantastic. They're always there to help with anything I need. I absolutely love it here! Thankful is an understatement!

Christina at the office was great and super helpful with all of my questions and concerns. The maintenance staff were also super helpful and efficient. Just moved in a month ago or so but I'm loving it so far!

The service at this apartment complex is amazing, and I love the layout! The property manager, Christina, is great to work with and very attentive. Definitely recommend!

Lease says no vicious dogs but lot of people have pit bulls. When someone gets bit and sues the owner I guess they will win. Dog waste stinks and is EVERY WHERE! We need more security cameras! Rent is way high for this dirtyness! Office people nice but they need to hire more workers.

I cannot rave about this apartment complex enough. It is very quiet and family oriented. The lawn is well-kept, maintenance is very considerate when making repairs and there is never a long wait, and the front desk staff is absolutely amazing. Chelsey is always very patient, kind, responsive, and understanding. She is a perfect model of what a front desk receptionist/leasing agent should be like. Until I am ready to purchase a house, Valley Station is my home, and I am proud to say so. I love it here and my family do as well.

The manager Austin and the service manager Via are quick to Respond and fix any issue I may have with my apartment (not that there’s been many). The building always looks good and smells good. 10/10!

I live here at Flats on 4th and I must say this is the best living experience that I’ve had since ever…Austin has been on top of every concern or need that I’ve presented to him and he is always so friendly and listens to every word even if I am rambling. Via the service manager has this complex running so exceptional with no hiccups and a service request is completed in the same day I’ve never had that happen anywhere else. This place wouldn’t run without the two of them.Take my word for it, Flats on 4th is that safe place to stay.

Flats on 4th was a wonderful place to live in my three years there. The maintenance was always on time and friendly, and every property manager has been kind and consistently helpful. Great views of the city from the top floors and proximity to UAB for walking to class were a driving factor to choosing Flats. 10/10 would recommend. I truly felt like I was home when I was at Flats.

Do not move to this place. The club beneath will rattle your apartment until the early morning hours. The management company is a joke, they do not complete work orders, or even answer your questions. Our cars have been vandalized, everything in the apartment was broken when we moved in. This is the worst apartment I have ever lived in. 1 star is being generous for this place, an absolute nightmare.

I have lived at Flats on 4th for over a year now and have already resigned my lease, it has been a great experience so far. The staff is super helpful and great at communicating quickly when any issues arise. The location of the complex is super convenient and a great walking distance/short uber to the hospital and multiple restaurants, bars and other activities. A great place to live if you're looking for a spot downtown!

SCAM!!! DO NOT APPLY HERE!!! They stole my application money and admin fee (total of $300) without telling me if I have been approved or not. It’s now been a month and all they can tell me is “We will send a message to management and give you a call back” I am reporting them to the BBB. I have called multiple times and they refuse to deny or approve my application. IF YOU WANT YOUR MONEY STOLEN, DO NOT APPLY HERE!!!

I’ve fully enjoyed living here. The management and maintenance are top notch, and are always quick to answer or respond to any issues I have. While there have been some downsides that I’ve experienced while living here, none are the fault of Valley Station or in their control. Since they’ve renovated, it is a lot more bang for your buck than other complexes.
It doesn’t have all the amenities of the “luxury” complexes downtown, but the location is great, and the fixtures and appliances are all new. Better too- it’s less than half the price for some units of equivalent size. Trust me, I’ve done my shopping, and can say you will not find a better value in an apartment that is in a relatively safe area.

I have lived in 2 different units at Mountain Woods and feel like it's home for me. Maintenance and management are always helpful - and response to any issue I might have. Just renewed my lease for another year!

My husband and I have lived in Vida on Valley apartment and I can honestly say it's the best apartment community that I have ever lived in! The wonderful office staff keep the community running well like a fine tuned machine and the maintenance staff almost seem to anticipate our maintenance needs. They always show up promptly and are extremely efficient! Everyone here is courteous and friendly and I don't ever plan on moving from here!

My husband and I lived in Flats on 4th from 2017-2018 and the only reason we moved was because of work. I absolutely loved this apartment building. I miss seeing Cara (head of maintenance at the time) in the building. She was super friendly, and I honestly never had to request any maintenance. The only bad thing was only having 1 parking spot per apartment. If not for locating out of state, we would probably still be living there. The apartments are made very well. They feel huge because of the fantastic open concept. I've lived in 2 apartments in Nashville since leaving Flats on 4th, and I wish that I could have just moved the apartment to Nashville. Flats on 4th was my favorite place that I've lived. If I ever end up in Birmingham again, I'm sure that I'll be back in this apartment building!

I lived here from 2009 to 2013. Overall, I had a good experience living in the building. I lived on the second floor and had a great view of the Vulcan. The roof leaked occasionally and I could hear my neighbors when they used the Whiz Palace. I shudder thinking of what they could hear from their end. I digress. When I moved out in 2013, I moved out of state to attend grad school. My roommate and I never received our deposit back, nor any documentation regarding what the money was being used for, all of which is required by law. Had I not moved out of state, I absolutely would have taken them to Small Claims Court. Since I was in grad school and didn't have extra money to dish out for an attorney to handle it, I decided I needed to let it go. Management never responded to any of our requests for the deposit back and wouldn't even produce the proper documentation showing what the deposit money was used for within the statutory time frame. I have no idea if the same people own the building, but I would caution anyone who currently rents here or is thinking about renting here to be aware of this. This was the second time I rented a place in Birmingham where this same issue occurred. Luckily, I was able to take the first company to Small Claims Court where judgment was ruled in my favor and I was able to recover my money. This is an extremely simple Landlord-Tenant law to abide by. There's really no excuse to not comply. I assume these greedy mongrels assume tenants won't follow through in holding them accountable. Since I was unable to do so, I hope this review serves as a warning to others. They should really change the name from "Liberty" to something more appropriate like "Thievery House Lofts".

I'm FLAT OUT amazed with my experience at Flats on 4th! How many times can I say perfect before it becomes ridiculous? The apartment? Perfect! The location? Perfect! The service from staff? Perfect! The perks at local businesses? Perfect! The clubhouse area for watching Barons games and grilling? Perfect! I've lived here for 10 months and it's heaven on earth. I would stay forever if we weren't moving with the military. Chase (previous leasing manager) and Isaac (current leasing manager), and Via (Maintenance superhero!) have been continuously so amazing, patient, and helpful to my family. I was a little worried about living downtown, but the community as a whole is so safe! The apartment itself is so beautiful and upgraded with a nice open concept layout, and BEAUTIFUL floor to ceiling windows. Worth every penny. I have no complaints. Will recommend to anyone anytime forever!

So far so good . This complex is so much better than the apartment complex that my boyfriend and I moved from . There is a drastic difference in the quality at this complex than the old. Diane really does know what she is doing . We are at peace and really do feel like we are home here. There is also a courtesy officer here too. The only downside is one resident that blasts there music when they come home and leave it outside our particular building. We enjoy it so much that we are debating to stay another year if they have a 2 bed 2 bad with connections or 3 bed if not it will be so hard to leave . If you are really looking for a great place come here!

I would like to thank the Crestview Apartments for their management. The management has been beyond perfect with providing me and the other tenants with excellent service. I’ve been living here for a few years and I’m blown away by the service. Roco Real Estate does a great job at maintaining the grounds. The property is very peaceful, youthful and if any problem occurs they’ll be very quick to fix any thing without question. If you’re looking for a building to move in then this is the perfect place!

I've lived at this property for the past three years and love the Crestview Apartments. This has been the best place I have lived at this whole time I've been in Alabama. I'm not going to move! I'm really impressed by the level of professionalism provided under Roco Real Estate. It's a very youthful group of people in the building and we all say hi to one another. If we ever any issues with the property then our building management is sure to be right there and fix anything that's occurred. I recommend you stop by and see for yourself. Nice, friendly leasing staff.

My partner and I have been living here for 1.5 years now and we love it. It’s close to downtown and easy access to any event happening. Indoor garage is heated for winter. Sometimes there’s event happening in the apartment to get to know each other. Only con we have ever encounter is that There are carts in the under garage but sometimes people don’t bring them back and it sits in the hallway. Other then that Everything is awesome and super clean! Doggy park is awesome and people clean up after their pets. Club room is great and clean and very spacious. Would recom to other people.

The apartment complex is a very small one so it's easy to manage which is why I really like it. It's affordable, close to everything, and the property manager is really nice. Maintenance comes in sporadically though, sometimes you have to pester them

Moretti at Vulcan is a nice apartment community. There is a pool and fitness center. The apartments have nice finishes and good sized closets and balcony. Garages are available. Pet friendly.

Loud, hallways often smell like cigarette and cigar as people walk Inside with smokes lit up. Their response to Chris was bs. They NEVER said there was a nightclub and even said they NEVER had complaints about noise. There are residents who have been complaining for 3-4 years about it....

This is one of the nicer lofts that I have seen and have been living in, in Birmingham. It is updated with huge ceilings and granite counter tops. But it is also one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a home and a landlord. The music from the bar is UNBELIEVABLY loud!! It stars around 10pm and doesn’t stop until almost 3 AM! When shopping for apartments, they would never let us visit in the evening time to see the apartment, and never mentioned that there was any noise! Would not suggest working with this company!! Also let’s in a lot of naturally light.

Worst apartment experience I've had. They will lie to you about everything and the bar underneath is so loud it's shaking the walls and floor.

A quiet and nice place to live. I lived here for 3 years and don't have any complains. Diane and her team did everything in their hands to make living there the best experience. Every time we had an issue that required maintenance Corey would come and fix it right away, I don't thin I ever had to wait more than a couple hours before something got fixed or taken care of.

The area is very close to everything, super markets, restaurants and entertainment. Neighbors were nice and everyone just kept to themselves and were pleasant. I really enjoyed my time living there.

I couldn't be happier with choosing Moretti. I rented sight unseen and was impressed by the complex upon arrival. The grounds were clean and neat and overall presented a nice setting. The apartment is quiet and spacious and has lots of cupboard space in the kitchen and.baths. The patio is a nice addition with seating for two with a table not a problem. I rented a garage space which provides some additional storage as well. I work downtown and make it to my parking garage in less than fifteen minutes. Downtown Homewood is a quick few minutes away and offers a small town atmosphere with shops and dining ( really like the number of places to eat with sidewalk seating). The staff in the office are professionals and each time I called the person that answered the phone had the answer and wanted to help. It is rare to find that type of responsiveness. I am happy with my choice. 😄

I just renewed my lease with Moretti at Vulcan Park for a full year! How could I not? With one of the best locations in town, I am minutes from any popular destination I wish to visit, while still being provided with an environment of quiet seclusion when I come home. Additionally, the unique amenities offered at Moretti, including valet trash service and extremely fast responding maintenance workers, help to make my life easier. The grounds are always spotless and well groomed and the staff is helpful and pleasant to work with. All in all, I am confident that no other luxury apartments in Birmingham can compete with Moretti at Vulcan Park.
