I ordered the spicy Italian sandwich, I would’ve left a picture but I ate to quickly. Great amazing of meats, great vege selection, sauces had a wonderful variety and flavour.
The service was on point, the gentlemen who served us was pleasant and easy to talk to.

Ordered through Uber Eats tonight for the first time. I ordered the steak sandwich with macaroni salad, both were delicious. I added the "cold cut" option on my sandwich as well, they called me a few minutes after my order was placed to ask what kind of cold cut I wanted on it. It's the little things that go a long way, and you can really tell with this place. I don't normally write reviews but after the excellent food and great service, even just over the phone, I had to. Will definitely be back, in person next time! Thanks so much
Very clean inside it was spotless and the food was great! Generous portions, lots of meat with fresh toppings.
Customer service was fine, the worker was not rude by any means, took my order and made the sandwich very well, they could have been tired or just having an off day but it almost seemed like they didn't want to be there. Overall I highly recommend if you're looking for a fresh sandwich shop!

Avoid going if you can. literally watched a man drop his drug needle on the floor causing it to spill out on the floor i informed one of the workers who was understanding and also concerned. When she tried telling her manager he started yelling at her then at me telling me not to blame him for the drugs being on the floor(which i hadnt...) she kept trying to explain the situation to him but he wasnt having it and threw a fit in front of many customers. Mean while a family with small children proceeded to walk through said drugs unknowingly.
I would like to drop a review for the older indian guy from this place. I am not sure what his name is, but he has incredible customer service. He is always happy and makes me feel like an actual customer. The rest of the stuff is also friendly and eager to provide great customer service, and their service is timely.
Tim Hortons will always provide you with a nostalgic donut of your choosing however this review is not about the food, but about the staff working here..

The service at this location is without a doubt the best I've ever experienced. Even if the line is ten people long, it doesn't take more than a couple minutes for them to get to you, and they'll have your food ready in no time at all. The selection is great as well, and the staff are kind and sociable.
They should rename the Protein Bowl to Bean Sprout Bowl as that's about 90% of the content. The salmon was tiny and veggies pretty much absent. Paired with the tiniest spring roll ever sold, and a pop.....$25 😱

Found this restaurant on a whim on Tuesday afternoon. Walked in and was greeted with the most kind / genuine customer service. We were new to the restaurant and the man at the counter gave us some suggestions and was so patient. After we sat down to eat right away we knew we would be back. Probably one of the best places I’ve been to in a long while. Everything was so so fresh and loaded to everything you want on it! And the prices are amazing. They asked us how everything was when we were done and we had to let them know we will become regular customers. Amazing place can’t wait to go back. Great work guys!
Food was really bad!!! I ordered chicken hot and spicy, it was not well cooked got my order in 30sec!! Felt very bad spending 15 dollars on plate! It’s my bad experiencing without eating for the first time i am throwing it to trash.
It's the worst stir fry i've ever had, because they barely cooked it. My god the noodles were bland, flavourless and the sauce was so, so watery it looked like I ordered a soup when I was done.
My girlfriends rice bowl seemed fine however.
There shouldn't be that much variety in the quality of dishes to the point that you can easily order something that is a complete waste of money. Not worth it.

I have ordered egg and cheese farmer wrap and cappuccino person took my order and he forgot to give me till 10 minutes when I asked them they started preparing my order and and when I took my order I asked for egg n cheese farmers wrap and don't know they put some thing like meat in my wrap I have realised that while I am eating waste service this guys are providing to the customers
Food and beverages are standard. They always have a variety of cakes, pastries, and snacking options. The coffee is normal, nothing special. I loved the croissant and blueberry cakes! The service is quick!
Still the best shawarma I've had in Ottawa. Go for the chicken saj, it's amazing! Restaurant has lots of dine in space. Prices are very good vs other places nearby

I had the traditional club. The egg bread was fresh and soft!
They put on lots of good quality turkey and bacon. The veggies were fresh.
I took it to go and it did not get soggy like other sandwiches do.
I will never be going back to subway as long as this place is open!

Do not eat The Ramen soup it is simply hot water salt and flour. The portion for a $16 ramen was 4-5 pieces of tiny shrimps. The worst in asian restaurants. Even the $1 Mr Noodles could give a better taste. Terrible disappointment and waste of money.
Boustan was a favourite of mine when I lived in Montreal many years ago. I finally got a chance to go to the one on Rideau Street tonight and it did not disappoint! And to boot, they now have a vegan option- a mushroom based 'meat'. It was DELICIOUS. I love Shawarma P down the street but I have to say, I now have a new go-to place .... already and planning my next visit! Thank you Boustan!
Look , the food is not bad , but why can’t you add fries in the shawarma ? It does not make sense ? Traditional shawarma is made with fries , pickles , tahini , garlic , lettuce , and chicken. The food chain needs to understand how to make real shawarma. Overall chicken was an 8/10, bread was an 8/10, but making a custom sandwich with fries should not be that hard. I will say it is not the workers fault , I am directly addressing the chain , the workers at this location are good people.
I always ordered from Tim’s. Staff always nice and friendlyy. Usually on Saturday less people in the queue but today was exceptional. I decided to orders from apps.I thought will be faster than waiting in the queue. I was wrong. One of customers was talking to one of employees and telling them about her mobile orders via apps. I cant believe what I heard from one of the employees told to the customer that “doesn’t mean you order from mobile apps that you can get faster than people queueing” and what’s the point of us as customers ordering from the mobile apps if you can’t get our orders on time. Do you have a timeline for orders pick up? I wasn’t sure. Anyways, I was shocked that usually the staff was nice and friendly became very rude. You get cheap coffee with cheap service.

The burgers were horrible. They were over cooked, burnt and tasted horrible. We didn’t get the right toppings on our burgers either. The milk skakes tasted like freezer burned ice cream. It was the worst burgers we have ever had. Very disappointed with the quality of the food.
Really enjoyed the Shawarma's here. Note, the Sharma Platter is a build your own Shawarma. The food was great and little confusion did not detract from the experience.
DELICIOUS AND AUTHENTIC!!! I love this place for authentic kothu roti, and a fun twist on items like their butter chicken kothu roti. The owner/chef is a sweetheart! Their food is authentic, spicy if you want it to be! Ive had their biryani and enjoy that as well. I have ordered from here about 4 times in the past year and its always fresh.
I was worried about this one but it was totally worth it. The food is FANTASTIC and amazing portions. Definitely recommend the Shawarma and especially the poutine after a great night. The staff are nice and quick! If you want great affordable eats with lots of seating, this is your place.
It is a small Kottu Restaurant, mainly focused on take out. The location wasn’t hard to find and the employees were really sweet and welcoming. The Kottu is probably one of the best I have had in Canada. Will go again when I visit Ottawa.

As an international student from Bangladesh, I received a warm welcome and generous discounts, a testament to their outstanding hospitality. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma, which was very delicious, with its authentic flavors and generous portion size. The restaurant's inviting ambiance, coupled with the friendly and attentive staff, including Adnan, made it an unforgettable dining experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Boustan,Ottawa (this branch) to anyone seeking both outstanding service and mouthwatering cuisine.Specially any Muslim who look for halal option, you can find healthy halal meal there.
I have no problems with this location except the photos I am including show how full my coffee sometimes is. It's only one employee there who fills it like this. If I say something then it is filled to the fill line. Other than this it's a great place. Always polite staff. There was also a problem with one of their debit machines rejecting my card. I have the tap feature turned off.
we just ordered for pickup 2 charbroiled burgers and a poutine. we had repeated to the person on the phone that we would like pickles in both burgers twice or three times. we got our food.. no pickles? they could’ve gave us a heads up if they didn’t have any but hadn’t. pretty annoying. other than that burgers were good.
Very good place. The food is awesome as well. Every other Shawarma place I have been to as a distinct and foul smell, but this is one is very clean.

Super fresh, filling, delicious and beautifully crafted sandwiches. The steak, turkey and meatballs are all slow cooked in store - the steak was so tender and juicy and far exceeded my expectations! 😋

We tried it first time for a lunch. The service was good, the food was fresh and good too. The only thing is the tables and chairs were very dirty, I tried to use the napkins, but it didn’t do much. When I asked one of the ladies that work there she kindly helped us out by cleaning it properly. That’s why I gave 3 stars for atmosphere.

I LOVED burgers because shakes and honestly overlooked how over priced the burgers are because they used to be so good.l, but the last 2-3 times I’ve bought from there… not as filling as it used to be and the buns are just plain and dry. I don’t know if they changed the bun or what but my partner couldn’t even finish eating the burger because of the nasty taste. Told me we’re never buying from them again. It’s just not worth it anhmore.
Seems to be a wonderfully run family business. We’ve tried 5 other shawarma places all over town and finally found our go-to with this specific location/restaurant.

Great food - fresh ingredients, tasty, nice spice level. Great value! Under $10 for three veg/an curries, rice and papadum. Their namesake dish (pictured) is a bit more expensive but super filling. The ambiance is mediocre, but it’s primarily a take out joint. If you’re looking for a nice sit down meal, hit up their awesome sister restaurant Ceylonta!

Kothu roti was a bit soggy for my liking, but tasted decent. Spice level was adequate and good quantity of food for price. Need to go back to try other food items

They are very generous with their portion and flexible with the ratios. I always add to oil salad or extra roasted eggplant for free or sometimes a 2 dollar extra charge.
They have more than three branches around Ottawa but this is the oldest at downtown.
Watch out for lineup during the busy hours but they never run out of food.
The prices is reasonable and you don’t need to pay tips. I wish they bring lamb shawarma as well.

Was served old, dried out hard rice that lost all moisture and resulted in being hard to eat. Hurt my teeth eating some as I didn't expect to bite down on that. Rice was very salty as well. Chicken was moist and good but beef was super dry and tough. Salad was fresh.
Overall, this is my second time trying them and second time being disappointed. Quality and care is lacking.

The Best shawarma plate and wrap I have had in North America so far. Chicken shawarma is the best and flavorful, their garlic sauce is to die for! Free Parking is also available. The beef/lamb shawarma is also good but fatty. Their garlic potatoes are amazing and go along soo well with the shawarma plate.
Mixed shawarma sandwich (4.6/5) was great! Lots of fresh and juicy meat, crisp toppings and just the right amount of sauces. It's a busy place for good reason!

Just visiting Ottawa first time and I have to say this is great place must to stop by for dinner. Kids friendly great ppl and absolutely amazing food.. if you planing come this place come hungry!!!! Plates are huge and even take out is as big as you eat in.

Loved the food. It tasted amazing. We recently visited this place and we were four people. We went for dine in and ordered 1 chicken shwarma plate, 1 chicken kebab box and 1 small tabouli.
We loved the shwarma plate the most. Kebab was good as well but Shwarma exceptional. Really loved the portions and fresh servings and the complimentary mint candies were also great. Overall this place is an A+ for Shawarma.

Coming from Toronto heard so much hype about Shawarma palace in Ottawa. Was sort off dissatisfied with the flavour as it seemed sorta bland to me as compared to the local shawarma joints in toronto but nonetheless they load it up. Had the mix platter of Chicken and Beef and ate it for lunch and dinner. Definitely had better Shawarma platters. Service on the other hand was outstanding as they help you right away and load it up as it hets busy really fast. The potatoes were really good boiled and spiced nicely with the garlic sauce.

I loved shawarma king. So far I have always ordered a mixed beef and chicken shawarma plate. The dish is delisious having potatoes that are roasted and seasoned well, hummus, salad having actually turnips cough cough Shawarma palace, and the meat was really good. The naans were heated well as well. I gotta say I find the experience here better then shawarma palace. The staff are so cool like they actually talk and engage with u as they are students and it's so fun to talk with them. It's also a family owned business so it's really fun to support a local business. So I find the customer service alot better then shawarma palace. I also feel like the portions they give u are now bigger then u find at shawarma palace. I also loved how the server accommodated my request for extra hot sauce and more saucy unlike the unwelcome feeling I got from shwarma palace. Also I ordered on door dash once and I was shocked after asking them to make it extra saucy they gave me like 3 sauce containers. Sooooo gooood. Like once had garlic, spicy and the other one might have been avoili. I would definitely choose this as my go to shawarma rice place in Ottawa. I was able to eat and get filled up by theix plate I bought for 3 days straight (even tho I also would buy naan to consume and eat as well from Loblaws). Overall I def recommend it.
I was eager to try this highly rated new spot in my area..and it didn’t disappoint! I was so happy to see they have halal options! Their meatballs and their steak is halal and kept at a separated container form the deli meat.. I got a steak sandwich their pre picked choice and it was very flavourful and fresh, and I think it will be both my lunch and dinner! The guy that served me was super friendly and can’t wait to bring the rest of my family here!

Chicken platter portion is enormous; enough for 2 people, or one EXTREMELY hungry person. The quality is usually very good, but each item is quite inconsistent, which is the reason for the 4 star rating. I get take out about once a week, and some platters are amazing, while others could be better.

Falafel (3/5) - they used to be really good, but recently have not been fresh at all. They seem like they have been sitting out getting stale for hours and are drenched in oil on the bottom.

Ordered 2 mix shawarma plates beef and chicken. Dish was really saucy and good. Quantity a little bit small when compared to shwarma palace but these guys make it Saucier making it so much better. Ask for hot sauce and the dish becomes astronomically amazing.
I would say it's a bit expensive but there shawarma plates are always a hit. Drinks are expensive and shawarmas are over priced but the shawarma plates are amazing!! And staff are nice often, shout out to the older man who works their he's really cool. The younger guy kinda got mad at me when asking for extra sauce but oh well. The shawarma plate mixed and potatoes are delicious tho!!
Highly recommended. Chris made my sandwich from scratch and to my preference. I choose to 'build my own' with choice of 3 protein, toppings and dressing. I took Option B that included a side (coleslaw) plus dessert was an amazing donut from Maverick Donut. Access is via the gas station on the corner

Craving a chip truck style poutine, ordered from here, little over $14 for a large poutine... Size, i found quite small but at least it was good.. Made quickly, sauce wasnt too salty, good amount of cheese. Ate it at home so the fries soften up by the time i arrived home, of course... Wouldn't order it again on its own due to the price but i will buy it with their burgers. Ordered off their site, not uber or doordash pick up

I loved their arayes (it’s really worth it). Their shawarma is huge and tasty both beef and chicken.
I’d rate them 4.8. My only take on them would be their tabouleh and garlic dip were salty to my taste.

Food was good to be very honest, portions are MASSIVE! However, the service wasn’t the best. They looked like they did not enjoy being there.

Food was good to be very honest, portions are MASSIVE! However, the service wasn’t the best. They looked like they did not enjoy being there.
The food we got a chicken platter and a mix platter. Both were average. Nothing so special.
I lived around the corner from here and used to go all the time! Lovely service with a smile and fantastic shawarma.
Moved away and came back one year later and made it a priority to get their shawarma. They never disappoint!

Not a safe place to eat "FOR ME", An old man tried to kill me in February 2022.
I don't want to give a bad review because I don't want to destroy their business. For everyone safety I would like to share my experience in this location. Every time when I see this picture, I thank God that I'm still alive, I thank God that I didn't swallow 1 inch of nail tool in my stomach while eating the Dosa.
Every time when I see the picture of tool nail in my Dosa my hair stands up and my stomach gets sick. I came here once and the Dosa was really really good, so decided to came back to celebrate my birthday in February 2022. An old man was doing the Dosa for me.
After eating 3 bites, I saw the tool nail inside the Dosa, so I showed it to the old man, the old man told me that we never have that nail, it's not our nail. I was so angry that I don't even know what to say, I didn't say a word. The old man think I would eat a big bite, his plan was not successful.
I really wish he would did it to another bad customer and the bad customer would show him a lesson.
The old man should have thanks to me, he's very lucky that I didn't call the police, the Ministry of Health and the media right away.
Note: Dosa and dipping were not good enough. Here is the truth when I get home I have a stomach upset and I have had diarrhea for 2 days. I knew they know how to cook a good quality food. I really hope that they respect their business, their customers and use a good products.

As a fellow Sri Lankan I'm all about supporting sri lankan businesses. This definitely wasn't the best food I've had but also not the worst. I ordered the mutton kothu which was a tad too salty but otherwise was okay. The deviled chicken was also not bad and isn't as hot as I was expecting. The mutton rolls were a let down, as it was way too much bread. I would not order them. Portion sizes were good and the service was very courteous. Definitely mom and pop vibes here.
In town and went to Palace to eat some falafels and surprise they did not have Falafel! Family walked to the King and went with low expectations. And what a relief that had Vegan options on the board.
We were 7 of us and the person on the counter suggested we take the Vegan Family Feast that feeds 5. The good thing is that all of it was vegan even the garlic sauce which is rare.
The salad, the grilled veggies, the rice, the potatoes (fresh batch made just for us), plenty of pitas, the garlic sauce and hummus. We bought for 5, we were 7 but could have easily fed 10-12 easily.
The more amazing thing is the attitude and service of the people. Absolutely amazing. Pleased with the food, service and more importantly vegan food availability.

Our first visit. Did a chicken shawarma platter takeout for 4 people. Also ordered small veg portion aswell.I found chicken little dry. Rice was different in taste if I compare it with Shawarma Palace on Carling Ave. They did not give much potatoes.
The man running the counter added two chicken ramen when I order two beef. Increased both chicken bowls by $1 instead of changing it charging me extra for no reason. The proceeds to add a full other meal hoping that I didn’t notice the change in price. I paid for the meal, but my friend told me it didn’t match up so I ask for a recipe and there it was the look in his eyes when I noticed. A full extra $13 meal had been added to my total. My friend and I were talking so it would have been easy for me to just tap and not notice. My friend did get the dumping and said they were meh.
Went here with a few friends and the gentleman helping us was fantastic. Ordered the spicy chicken and noodles dish and it was super fresh and delectably tasty. Me and my friends were all very satisfied and impressed with the huge portions. Looking forward to my next visit!
Had my lunch for the first time here and it was delicious. Ordered Falafel platter which was a good portion that two can easily share. Chicken platter too was delicious. I highly recommend this place if you want a good portion of tasty meal for reasonable price.
In the past, it was very good. However, when we went there tonight, we noticed that the prices had gone up and the portions had shrunk simultaneously. The shawarma platter, which used to cost $16, now amounts to $21.5 including tax. Most importantly, they serve significantly smaller chicken/beef portions on the plates. I informed the chef about the reduced portion size, but he insisted that it is what it is. It appears that customer satisfaction is not a priority there.
Without a doubt, this was the last time I visited that place. Next time, I will explore other options.

I was so happy to find this place years ago. One of the only Sri Lankan food places in Ottawa, the other one being Ceylonta on Bank and from what I understand the present owner of Kothu was a cook there?? The first year I was a frequent regular, indulging in their vegetable Kut Rotti. The owner/cook made it to perfection, to my liking. He was always generous with his portions and gave me a complimentary coconut chutney on the side which was a small gesture that kept me coming back! He was always happy and smiling! Now, years later I can see how tired and worn out he is. He has no more smile on his face, the portions are still bigger than standard but less than his usual, the complimentary chutney is gone ( his wife made sure he charges me) and the perfect kut rotti is now imperfect. My last few trips there were disappointing, rotti was cold . He re cooked it in front of me but rushed through it. The time prior to that, something in the dish ( rotti or some of the pre made curried vegetable he added in) was tasting moldy and sour! Clearly I can see that this poor man is working himself to death and although I love his food I'm actually at the point that I feel so uncomfortable making him cook my order since he looks so tired and burned out. There is no doubt about it that the food is delicious but the owner/cook looks like he can use a holiday. There are only a few chairs to sit down and the place is always hot like an oven but somehow that never seems to bother me. I only hope the quality of his food doesn't go down.
