The biggest and most popular market in Valencia. We visited on two separate days to be able to see every shop. Multitude of options from trinkets and souvenirs to butchers and food stalls. If you’re a tourist looking to buy souvenirs to bring back home, this market is your one-stop shop.
Markets are a celebration of fresh produce. Here they take pride and excel in this. A stunning Cathedral for prime ingredients! Don't leave without trying something.
This should be your number 1 place to visit whilst in Valencia if your a foodie like myself. It is simply stunning with a vast array of different shops and little restaurants inside. We spent a couple of hours here but could have stayed longer as it was so much fun. Free to enter and free to see all the beautiful types of foods from this area.
If you like food and drink then you will love this place. Traditional stalls where you can get free samples before you buy. The building itself is Amazing. Fresh Meat seafood vegetables. Even buy a drink whilst looking around
Quite enjoyed the atmosphere! It’s a grand bazaar where you can find delicious food, tapas, chocolate, a wide range of drinks, souvenirs, bakeries and everything. Not just to take away but you can also grab a glass of Sangria or Vermut and taste handmade gourmet chocolates while doing some shopping. Totally a must-see!

Unbelievable experience! Free entrance to marketplace that sells seafood, meat, vegetables, cured meat, and much more.

Give yourself at least an hour or two here - there's that much to see and savour. Very impressive selections of meat, seafood, and veg.

Toilets are at the back and downstairs. You ise your credit card to gain entrance - it was 1€ when we visited - be patient, machine takes it time.

Loads of opportunities for a meal inside or outside the market. An absolute must-see/-experience. Compares well with the similar market in other places such as Budapest.

Very clean and pretty market. From souvenirs to exotic fruits to local sweets. I would recommed the shop of Navarro for the sweets. You can taste and then choose. you can pay with card or cash. He was so attending and he even let us know to use the receipt for toilette use. All in all very nice place and muss visit.

Astounding structure. Loads of choice of places to eat and drink. Lovely little cafes and great surroundings.
So many incredible local shops. Shopowners are friendly and helpful, especially considering my poor level of Spanish. Fish, meats, fresh fruits and vegetables, charcuteries; one-stop shopping!
Nothing interesting, maybe wrong time I visited. I was in Saturday before siesta
Beautiful place! With a fantastic facade, combining ancient and contemporary architecture. The interior follows the same lineage, with a solid and simple construction. Without being a huge market, it holds varied offers. Inside, for a moment, it seems to transport us to a railway station from other times, with its pillars and metallic arches. A place to visit
One of the most visited places in Valencia. Loads of stalls with prepared and raw foods. Come inside and look up at the beautiful ceiling. Bathrooms located downstairs for 1 euro. No tables to sit and enjoy your goods and no sitting in the stairs!!!
Beautyful place where to have desajuno, al muerzo, brunch, lunch, dinner and appetizers and etc etc plus beers&beers 😝

Very good selection of local and international food items in a cool and clean environment. There is also a public bathroom at the basement level- a rare find in the city
Really nice architecture, with a variety of local food and crafts. Near the Valencia cathedral. It is worth a visit and you can pay by card as well.
This is the perfect place to kill time, grab a snack, wander, and sip vermut. While definitely touristy we still had a lovely time perusing for gifts and grabbing a bit to eat in between attractions. We recommend!
Love this place. But the day we visited was very hot and inside there was no fresh air. But generally was good. Very typical tourist attraction :)

Everything was closed during August. People rude. Lady tried to charge us 9 euros for 250g of cherries because she saw we were foreigners, while it cost 2.90 in another places in the mercat and she was advertising 2.90 the box of cherries. Be aware they will tell you the price they show is for 1/4 of the weight so they charge you more(per kilo, average price 15/20 euros per kilo) , marketing strategy to scam tourists. Be careful tourist.
Fantastic market. It is crowded and pretty hot, but manageable. We had drinks for take away there and just enjoyed seeing around. It’s there where I found the best flat white with oat milk and superb cava served by glass. Lunch at Central Bar is highly advised, especially pork loin sandwich. They have queue but it moves pretty fast.

Not as elegant or spacious as the Mercado Central, but don't sell it short. There's a great selection of foods, fruits, vegetables, meats, spices, wines, coffees, breads, and the vendors are always friendly and ready to chat.

There are also stores surrounding the outside that are well worth checking out and are open later than the market itself.
Fascinating old market building with all variety of foods on offer. Very Spanish and a treat to see all of the fresh produce. Worth going when there is some hustle and bustle around the middle of the day. It opens from 7:30am to 3:00pm so don’t make the mistake of trying to visit in the evening!
Amazing! Very hot and crowded -so maybe go early?
Food was so fresh and was a great experience! Fruit, food, meats, a bar, desserts... Make sure to get the avocado toast in the back! Salads made fresh and such friendly service!!
If you have never been, you should experience the many interesting restaurants inside this incredible Valencian Art Nouveau building located in the city center of Valencia - a beautiful place in a fabulous city!!

Nice market, but some of the vendors are very rude to tourists. Can be seen from facial expressions and comments that they think one can not understand.
I was in Valencia only for 4 days. Why do I have to endure such comments... I don't speak Spanish fluently. However if a Spanish tourist comes to my country they will be treated kindly and obviously not expected to speak the language after 4 days.
Beautiful fresh foods and produce for a very reasonable price. In addition to butchers, bakers, greengrocers and fishmongers, they have an excellent selection of vegetarian and vegan products. All in a traditional setting. ¡Me encanta!

I had an incredible time visiting Mercado de Russafa! This bustling market offers a vibrant atmosphere with an array of colorful stalls and a wide variety of fresh produce, local delicacies, and artisanal goods.

However, I visited in August and noticed that quite a few stands were closed for vacations. While the market still had its charm, it’s essential for visitors to be aware that some vendors take this time off, affecting the variety of offerings available.

Despite the temporary closures, the remaining open stalls continued to impress. From delightful fruits and vegetables to mouthwatering cheeses and freshly baked bread, there were still plenty of delicious options to explore.

The market’s lively ambiance was a delight to experience even in this quieter period. It felt like a true community gathering place, bustling with locals and tourists alike. The lively chatter, enticing aromas, and the array of eye-catching displays added to the overall charm.

I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the market and capturing some memorable photos of this bustling hub. While some stands may be closed during August, Mercado de Russafa is still worth a visit for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the authentic Valencian culture and culinary delights.

Highly recommended, but best to check the visiting hours during August!

Nice place to get some shade, cool down, grab a drink and refresh yourself after exploring the city on a hot day. There are cafe type areas upstairs. Downstairs will be the restaurant type area as well as a deli.

The art nouveau exterior is definitely unique and strikes some resemblance to the North Train station — they were probably built in the same era. Do grab a horxata or a cafe cortado while taking your break in this lovely edifice.
Gorgeous market, lovely items and people, very fresh
The market is a dream come true for any foodie. We visited twice while in Valencia and got to try a lot of stuff. The produce is all fresh and the prices are absolutely fine. There are also bathrooms right by one of the main entrances.
My favorite stand was Moixamer with all kinds of delicious olive and fish snacks. I wish I was able to try more from them.
I'd appreciate at least a small corner to eat the food you purchase there.
I recommend to buy fresh seafood and take it to the only tapas bar inside the market. They will grill/cook it for you for 3,50€ per each ration of any meat or seafood, straight from the vendors inside of the market. They are very nice and give good service! I liked this experience better then Central and Colon market

A clean fresh produce market with a wide variety of vegetables, meat and fish. One stall caught our eye - the selection of stuffed and pickled olives was enticing.

By far the best market in Valencia. Although smaller and less charming than the central market it has a great feel to the place and all of the sellers are friendly, helpful and a good laugh. Definitely the place to buy your freshest ingredients in Valencia and at better prices than most markets. Try and keep it a secret though because we want it to ourselves!
Beautiful, colorful and bustling...loaded with wonderful varieties of meat and produce including horse meat! Would shop there everyday if I could for the freshness and quality
The market is only a block away from Chinatown and is quite small.

Nice small local community market, that has a decent amount of products you will need. If you are around the neighbourhood or staying in a near by Airbnb it is worth a visit (quick to see the inside with some coffee available to purchase and outside has nice places to eat).

Good to support the independent and local individual businesses.

Mercat de Colón is one of our favorite places in Valencia. It is a great place to relax, have a bite, or and enjoy a drink with family and friends. We often stroll past on our way to the city center and pop in for a little treat.

The contemporary market is worth the visit and explore around for some food and drinks. Nice open space and well looked after.

Free public toilets too on the ground floor.
A must place to buy fresh local food
Great little market. Friendly service. Lots of vegetables, fish, limited (but adequate) selection of beef, pork, lamb, and chicken. Will visit often!
Small little local market in LA Roqueta (Chinatown). No tourists around, not crowded. Selection a bit light, only one meat and eggs guy.
Super!
We stay in Valencia (Patacona) a lot and this is our go-to market hall. They really have a great selection of meats, fruits and vegetables, cheese, olives, nuts and baked goods. Go early! The market is jumping in the morning but dies down quickly by noon with most shops closed by 1pm. I particularly like the olive seller in the first row near the east entrance. Very friendly and lets me try several types of olives before buying.

Good
A big variety of fish and seafood, hamon, cheese and veggies 🥗 our favourite market as it wasn’t that busy
Buona Passeggiata ;-)
We had a great meal here. We stopped for lunch and they were so nice to us. The one waitress did great on explaining the dishes in English. Our Spanish is not good so that was very helpful. Thank you for the experience!

Mercado Rojas Clemente is a small central market. Its average, not very good and not very bad though. You can find fresh products here but there are only limited shops . You can find fresh veggies, non veg, snacks etc. For fresh products you can check it out.
Excellent place for almuerzo.
Great selection of fresh delicious bocadillos and tapas.
The server was excellent and funny.
By all means try this place its super affordable as well.

Small, intimate feel, everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. Visit. The store owners are proud of their products.
This market has a great selection of high quality products. It is not as busy as the huge Central Market, which we like. One of the many joys of a Valencian winter vacation is cooking with fresh and tasty ingredients. There is no better place for grocery shopping than Rojas Clemente Market.

Average quality of products for almost twice the price You find in regular supermarkets.
Nice, small local place. Hard to find but close enough to Estation de Nord you can pop over for some produce, cheese and meats.

Great Food market for nuts, dried fruit, vegetables. Meat & cheese. On Thursdays until 13:00 the streets surrounding it host a street market selling cloths shoes and everything one can imagine
