I really enjoyed dining here. Really good choice of dishes. Very well balanced. There were a lot of dishes i wanted to try, i wish i could dine here a few more times.
Service was really professional and very welcoming. Also good selection of wine and good recommendations from the staff.
Please take the mascarpone, because it honestly was The best one i have ever had in my life. Take it and thank me later
I calamari erano ottimi.
Tavolo in terrazza. Bellissima location con una cantina ben fornita. Personale gentilissimo e accogliente.
Excellent restaurant in a nice location and extremely interesting menu. Great service. A place to come back
We went to Mastin Vecchio on the recommendation of our B&B host. It was her favorite restaurant in the area. After having dinner here, we can see why. The food is outstanding, the service great, and the outdoor dining area surrounded by city/castle walls.

We started with a culatello di Parma starter which was served with a beautiful local specialty soft cheese and a piadina. We then moved on to two gluten-free pasta dishes (I'm a celiac and was sharing with my wife), one of which was a ravioli - a rarity in the GF world in my experience. Both were fantastic and in no way were compromised by being GF. We finished up with a zabaione semifreddo and an espresso.

The servers also provide you with a complimentary aperitif (prosecco) and digestif (limoncello). One could argue with a standard but modest coperto service charge, it's not really complimentary, but we have eaten at so many places where paying the coperto results in at best water and a bit of bread. So this felt like going above and beyond.

All in all, this was one of our top 5 dining experiences on our entire trip (nearly 4 weeks). We will definitely be coming back here next time we are in the area.
