Total surprise to find this place. We had some time to kill and fell upon it and what a treat.
A picturesque walk around the Tame river. Gets better on a warm sunny day.
Great walk with the dog plenty of ups and downs and a bit muddy , but that's the beauty of it , saw a deer and plenty of friendly faces theres information on the way. We started at giants seat garden centre and finished at Asda Radcliffe. Before hand we started at the canal little lever to ringley and finished Radcliffe canal to little lever school. All together just short of 9 mile to choose a nice day and take some fluids.

Really really nice place for walking every time I go here I enjoy it even ride a bike through here (even though I nearly fell off because its bumpy) but yea I highly recommend it especially for dog walkers!!
Excellent for walking, fishing, dog walking, running, etc. A mix of areas, most paths are flat but there are some paths up banks. There's a large grassy field near the hall, and an area with long wild grass and flowers (with orchids/etc) between the parking and the hall. The rest is generally woodlands next to streams, rivers, weird, and ponds. There are some large old trees. The invasive himalayan balsam is everywhere. Most bits are dry but it's often muddy around gates. In general, people are friendly and it's lovely to walk around. You get the odd idiot on a motorbike very very infrequently. It's my local go-to place for dog walking - not enough dog bins really, the main one being at the parking area and the pond with the geese and swans in it with metal picnic benches (layby end of the park).

Went for a short walk and got totally lost, did nearly 10 miles over five hours. Absolutely great time!

Great path and easy going as it follows the old railway line route. Mostly through woodland with paths off in both directions.
Lovely area of woodland near the college. Easy to get to and good paths. Seems quite good for wildlife, particularly birds as it seems to be old, well established woodland. Nice and peaceful.
Lovely walk anyway time of the year. Spot the roaming deer's if your lucky.
Beautiful nature spot. There are woods and water pond with birds-coots, ducks, other water birds. There are plenty of walking trails and the river. However if you want to park your car you need look for some alternatives nearby. This place is located between the streets and quite close to Heaton Park. Truly nature gem and reservoir just in the middle of the town that is a bit unusual.

I've been visiting this place for many years and it's always beautiful no matter the season. You can walk, run, or walk your dog here. In Spring you can sometimes find baby birds. During Summer you can often see huge dragon flies buzzing around. In Winter the frost and ice is just amazing to see in the morning. It's well maintained so usually no litter on the ground.
Great walks to be had around here, some nice little lakes/ponds and some really big ancient trees. There can be a bit of antisocial behaviour though. Its quiet in the mornings though and a great place to watch a sunrise.
Nice little park there is a few lakes its not a massive place but a good place for dog walkers or a quiet walk.
If like me you like the wildlife this is a good place for herons,Coots,Ducks,Swans. The parking is free but If I remember they lock the gate at 4pm so be sure to check that if you use the carpark.

A fantastic place for dog walking or a family day out.
Started from Gibraltar Lane to Godley turntable. Nice easy flat corridor of greenery with colourful markers along the way.
This is a beautiful piece of land poorly cared for. The bluebells are in danger of being lost as boundaries are not maintained and off road bikers etc often trample through it, littering is also an issue and the land owner needs to update signage and repair fencing
Very nice woodland walks and plenty of wildlife to be seen.
Nice quiet place running alongside a river with woods and a large open field. We parked down a steep decrepit lane after following Google Maps, and nearly could drive out.
I love talking the dog out around here.

Nice shaded walk on hot days for the dogs, and a nice paddle in the stream as well.
Interesting little walk quiet thank goodness whn I was there as some football match or another on gave me time and space to explore though

There's also the remains of the Hopwood Hall Ice House where the hall kept meat fresh for months.

Full of litter (including broken glass, old mattresses etc) and dog poo. Not a pleasant place for a walk.
Beautiful to just walk around and enjoy being with nature. Many different paths to wander. Great for families with children and dogs. Just be mindful of the streams/rivers with little ones. Be on the look out for amazing little critters!! 🐛
Great place to go for a walk and adventure with the kids. There is a dinosaur trail which was fun trying to find them. Take a picnic as you can be there for awhile.
Only saw a short stretch of this, but it is a beautiful peaceful place for a stroll. Would love to explore more of it
Lovely Community Forest. My children used to play there but I had only gone in for the odd walk round the lake until recently. Since Lockdown 2020 I have been all over including off the beaten path. It isn't that large but it's an interesting forest as it has a lake, a river hills and steps. The entrance off Victoria Avenue has ramped access although only the path near River Irk is level enough for wheelchairs. The other main entrance is off Blackley New Road. The birdsong in there is just amazing and a kingfisher has been regularly spotted on the River Irk. You can also see the occasional deer - we spotted one by the river but we have heard lots of accounts of other sightings all over the forest. We have enjoyed watching two pairs of coots caring for their offspring on the lake. They are very good parents and fierce in their protection of their young. I definitely recommend exploring this forest.
Loveley walk, splits up in so many ways to go, Salford manchester , seeing historical buildings like Clifton viaduct , and molyneux station . Also goes radcliffe bury , rammy , bacup
Nice walking area especially for children. Went on a warm day so kids paddled in the stream and explored the wooded area. Enjoyed.
I love this place. So close to home and not as busy as near by Heaton Park. It is dog friendly and all the locals are very nice.
It is a small forest but very nice
There's a sign at the top of path cyclist dismount but they never do which makes it very muddy and slippy for walkers think what you ignorant lot are doing its public for everyone so do as the sign say and please dismount

Today was my first visit after seeing it recommended on Facebook. Absolutely beautiful place, perfect for walking the dog or having a nice stroll and a picnic. There is also a dog friendly pop up cafe on the Denton side of the river. We will definitely be coming here again in the future.

Ancient broadleaved woodland, ponds, some surfaced footpaths, historical features, bluebells in early summer and fungi in the autumn. Possibly Rochdale's best woodland...
Beech plantation, birch/oak native woodland, some exotic hard and softwood tree species, nice Riverside walks, former mill ponds, wildlife ponds, historical buildings and oddities - lots going on!
This is a beautiful place to walk, only 2 mins from m62 Heywood exit.
A beautiful wooded area full of blue bells in spring hence it's name. It's located off Yew Tree Road and I believe it is owned by Hyde Hall Farm and is the starting point to gain access to Reddish Vale from this end of Denton. The only down side is that the borders of the woods and the local estate often becomes victim of fly tipping. Plenty of nature and scenery and a lovely walk all the way to the Vale
