The food wasn't bad, but there was just SO MANY flies flying around your table and no personal did anything about it. That really ruined the whole experience.
The waiter was friendly yes. But besides greeting us and taking our orders, he didn't do much. Mostly sitting in the back with the other staff.
We ordered the Moussaka and the black pork souvlaki. Both dishes were fine. Moussaka being tasteful and the black pork souvlaki being tender. But having to fight off the flies every 3-4 seconds was just bad...
So unless you want to go for a take-away, I wouldn't recommend this place no.

This was the BEST seafood pasta and grilled calamari I’ve ever had. I was mind blown. Would 100% recommend this place - they don’t take reservations but we showed up around 7:30pm and got a table no problem.
We have been seated on our arrival very fast without any reservation. We have ordered octopus, kalamari, traditional salad and french fries. We left very disappointed firstly because we have served at the beginning the salad and took at least 40minutes for the rest of thw food to arrive. Portions were small for the price we paid. Octopus 🐙 prawns 🍤 and kalamari 🦑 was over cooked.
So, we had been many days on the Island and felt that every Restaurant we went to was very pretentious and service was transactional. This is the first place were service was truly genuinely warm and hospitable, food was incredible (make sure you order the slow braised meat) and made us think of what's important in the end. Good food, great service and great ambiance.
We came to Archontoula only because some locals recommended, however we were sceptic due to the low rate. As soon we received the food we understood that the reason is the actual quality of the food of a scarce satisfaction. The atmosphere is scenic but go there for nothing more than that.
Everything was great! The waiters are super friendly, the Souvla is so tender (a must try!) and the atmosphere is perfectly laid back
Owner operator very gracious and accommodating. Octopus ranks at the top. Authentic Greek meatballs and roast goat is succulent. Unique eggplant appetizer. Best meal of our trip.
A very good and authentic place to eat as a tourist and as a local. everyone was enjoying their dinner. Archontoula and her family that is working there is giving you the best vibes! See says to try kritamokeftedes and yes it is a must, but some plates were complicated in taste! But probably the best place to eat !
Update: we went back again the next night for dessert and the service was even worse. And this was a fairly quiet time when they weren't busy at all. Had to repeatedly ask for menu before we could even order. Service is definitely their weakest point here.
Really solid food--grilled meats were juicy and flavorful. Food also came out quickly. Service was a bit up-and-down...some servers are friendly, others are a bit more rushed and feel unapproachable. They're all nice enough but maybe just super busy and thus not as attentive to your table as you'd like...for instance had to ask for the check repeatedly at the end etc. The start of the night was their galaktoboureko desert...literally one of the best deserts I've ever had, period. It's unbelievable how good it is that we've already vowed to return and get it before we leave Milos! P.s. at night for dinner, you get the surprise bonus of nice live music from next door spilling over and adding to the ambiance. We enjoyed that.

We stopped here for the moussaka which was excellent. The service was very good. The kleftiko and lamb souvla was a little under seasoned for our taste. But it’s a very cute place, excellent service and overall good food.

We came here twice! Authentic Greek food, lovely taverna, and super fresh. We ordered a few small plates to share. Friendly service and delicious food. Loved the little bread basket with the embroidered cloth.
We had a great meal here and were recommended this place by our hotel. We had the salad and appetizer recommended by the waiter and they were both amazing! The salad was very fresh with an interesting flavor, and I’m already craving more of the fried app! So good.
We were completely drawn into the romanticism and buzz of this lovely plaka restaurant! The food is authentic, yummy, and the owner was a treat to learn from! I had the most amazing herbal tea sourced from her hometown, and our dishes were flavorful to say the least!

So GOOD! We came here twice and enjoyed each time. As vegans we thought we might struggle here in Plaka but this place had delicious vegan dishes. The food was so good and the service was great. We went to another restaurant (the most popular one in Plaka) previously and Diporto was so much better! Go here, you won’t be disappointed :)

Best food we had in Milos! Order the mare mare pasta dish and the country pork. Their Greek salad is something special too! Greta service and lovely atmosphere for a lunch or dinner.
Aubergine immam is amazing!!! Wine is great and cheap, every dish we had was so good. Definitely recommend! Staff were all lovely
Do not miss this place. Authentic, friendly staff, and the food genuinely taste like home made. This place is a gem, the tzatziki was fresh and balanced, the local cheese on the Greek salad to die for!
Sehr nettes Restaurant mit leckerem Essen, freundlicher Kellner, und ideal sich bei der Mittagshitze auszuruhen. Die zwei Plätze direkt vorm Eingang draußen in der schmalen Gasse waren genial zu sitzen. Tolles Flair da.
We randomly made a stop here when trying to choose dinner and it was the best decision we made. It didn’t look very busy but this place is a hidden gem. The food was amazing, the desert was also amazing. We ordered the roasted chicken, the lamb ribs, and kleftiko lamb. The lamb ribs were the best, and so so so delicious. The dessert was banofee. It was so good that we ordered a second, right after finishing. Highly recommend this place! The owner and staff were also very lovely. Not a tourist trap like some other spots in the area and very underrated !!! Visit this place. !!
Location is stunning in the heart of plaka but on a quiet side alley. Comparatively less fancy and more home style than other restaurants in the area. Kolokithokeftedes (courgette fritters) were delish, as was the katzidi (goat). Everything we ate was tasty, no complaints. Price good too. With a few beers - €50 for two people.
If you want to eat excellent meat food, Mavros Chiros is your place to be.

Excellent food quality. Poor food quantity in some dishes (for example, they serve half cheese in the 12€ grilled vegetables dish or 5 shrimps for 2 persons instead of 6 in the 15€ dish). I wouldn't consider it touristic food but the prices are expensive.
