Simple RV Park that is conveniently located. Best place to RV while visiting NYC. Just steps away from a boat into the city with frequent round trips. Electric and Water hookups at each site and a dump station located next to the showers. Any time we plan to go into the City we will plan to stay here.
Excellent experience here. Location was perfect-- easy to get to the park with an RV and very close so you could quickly jaunt into NYC. Staff was friendly and kept us feeling well cared for and safe. A great urban park experience with a view of Lady Liberty. Bathrooms were clean and so was the laundry facilities. We are so glad we stayed here and would be back any time. It was exactly the experience we were looking for.
Our family enjoyed our stay here. We had a good idea of what we were getting ourselves into before arriving, so there weren’t any surprises. We loved the proximity to NYC. Melanie at the front office was amazing, super helpful. It’s expensive, but you can’t get closer to the city.

While in the area I decided to stop and visit this park. It was so well maintained. Very tranquil. Beautiful sights. You can walk the walkway all the way around to the Statue of Liberty and farther.
It is a cobblestone road to the park so be prepared for a very bumpy ride.
The free parking was closed off but I paid 7 dollars for parking and I was there for 2 hours.

The park has become my go-to sanctuary for peace and tranquility. It’s incredibly friendly for pedestrians and runners, even hosting running competitions. There’s a wonderful atmosphere of families and friends enjoying their time together, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Manhattan skyline
We were pleasantly surprised with our stay at Liberty Harbor. We were afraid it would be really noisy - not at all. Really dirty - not at all. Melanie and the other girls in the office were very helpful and knowledgeable. The walk to the NJ subway station was fun. Walking down to the pier at night, beautiful. Getting to see Lady Liberty from the RV park, priceless. The prices? Pricey!! It would be wonderful to see at least a small, grassy area with real grass. It's just gravel and pavement everywhere. Would we stay there again? Yes!
We really enjoyed how well-organized this park is. The plants on the territory are taken care of, and the area is also very pedestrian-friendly. There is plenty of parking, and good pedestrian paths.
I had a great time at the park. It was during a beautiful early fall season day.. I live in Bklyn, and my parents live in SL, NJ, so I take the subway to Penn Station and the rest of the NJ - transit train line to visit NJ. Instead of taking the train home. My parents and i went to the park for the day, and then I used the ferry to get home to Brooklyn. I got home before my parents, who drove. They were stuck in traffic, unfortunately. It can be used as a commute from NYC>NJ. it cost less than the train.
The view of NYC was amazing from Liberty State Park. A beautiful view of our statue of Liberty. It was a wonderful time, a new memory with my parents I will cherish.
You cannot beat the location! The area in Jersey City is wonderful and safe with lots of cute restaurants. The subway is a short walk and takes you into NYC quickly. The staff at check-in was friendly as well as the security for the rv park/marina. I used the showers a couple times and they were clean with nice hot water. I think it is important you have realistic expectations when coming here. This is not a traditional campground with lots of grass, a playground, etc. This is a place to park to be close to the city/attractions. It definitely exceeded my expectations and we had a great time!
The good:

Easy and quick mass transit to and from Manhattan

The bad:

Very rude female staff member (you'll know the one when you arrive if she's covering the office) She over compensates for her very obvious anger issues by referring to every paying customer
as "love" and "honey bunch" and no she's not British.

The reason these anger issues were brought to light:

A friend of ours wanted spend a day camping at the same campground and spend a day in the city with us. Our friend arrived 17 minutes before check in and was not allowed to check in early even though her camp site was open and no they don't prep the sites. Hey we get it, rules are rules and our friend proceeded to park and wait where she thought was overflow parking to wait until she could check in. Our friend mis interpreted the angry female staffer's instructions to park somewhere else further away.

Instead of handling the situation like an adult this staffer came rushing towards our friend yelling at her. If a customer is not belligerent or rude you treat them with respect and advise them that they are breaking campsite policy instead of being rude and belligerent towards a paying customer.

Secondly for the price you pay to camp in a parking lot with water and electric, you would think that number one, they would keep there bathrooms clean which in a 5 night stay that we were there they never once cleaned the bathrooms. One day the sewage overflowed with feces laden water spilling out all over the floors in the center drain hole covering about 75% of the men's room floor. That and the fact that when the bathroom's not covered in feces the shower fixtures are broken and not one night could we take showers with consistent temperature. The water pressure was very poor and there is no possibility of warm water. You only have fluctuations between ice cold and burning hot.

There are much better options that are just as close to the city with even better mass transit options to get to Manhattan in Brooklyn that we're going to use next time.

Good Park and it is a good place for hangouts. Saw lots of people who came with food and spent their quality time with their family. The kids play area was there and it has lots of small games and kids will enjoy it. We can view the New York City and the Library statue from here
One of the greatest parks I’ve ever been to with a fabulous view of New York City
We went to Liberty state park last Saturday ! We booked our ferry tickets in advance for Statue of Liberty . The state park has lot of parking space . We got the parking easily and they have plenty of portable restrooms plus the regular restrooms all over the park . You can see the beautiful NYC skyline. You will get good pics with the NYC and Hudson River background . Good place for young kids . They have a rail engine and rail lines . Dont miss the 2 walls when you get down from the ferry. Many benches to sit and huge place to walk . Empty Sky is the official New Jersey September 11 memorial to the state's victims of the September 11 attacks on the United States. It is located in Liberty State Park in Jersey City at the mouth of Hudson River across from the World Trade Center site. Good walking trails , cycling, jogging , picnic area, kids play area . It’s pretty crowded on summer weekends!!!
Liberty State Park is a true gem! Its breathtaking waterfront views of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty create a picturesque setting that's perfect for relaxation and recreation. The well-maintained walking and biking trails make it easy to explore the park's vast greenery, providing an oasis of tranquility in the bustling city. Families will appreciate the numerous picnic areas, playgrounds, and the Liberty Science Center, offering a great mix of fun and education. The park's spacious lawns and open spaces are ideal for sports and gatherings, making it a favorite spot for community events. Overall, Liberty State Park offers an enriching experience for nature lovers and city dwellers alike, a must-visit destination that showcases the beauty and significance of the New York Harbor area.

Liberty State Park
(to leave here for Statue of Liberty)

This seems to be less busy than Battery Park Ferry(you see this upon returning to Liberty State Park)

As you head towards security checkpoint before catching the ferry towards the Statue of Liberty, you’ll come across the New York and New Jersey’s abandoned station, giving us an insight into the industrial past of the ferries and trains that served at this terminal. The once burgeoning abandoned Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal in Liberty State Park.

Now serving as a pivotal connection to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, we see a part of history that is not completely forgotten and can still serve as a connection towards Liberty and Ellis island.

Parking is adjacent to the ferry port and seems plenty of spots, if you haven’t purchased a ticket ahead of your visit (crown reserve and pedestal access) you need a booking as gets busy.

Staff are super helpful and I was in awe as much at Liberty State Park as I was at Liberty Island.

Thank You to Liberty State Park for setting to me what would become a visit to Liberty Island, I dreamed of for so long.

Side Note - Empty Sky Memorial is here, wow
Nice reserved space for family and friends
It was one of the best parks I visited. Attractive views. We had a lot of fun there. You can easily do BBQ there. Management is also cooperative. I liked that they were giving free garbage bags. There is also police monitoring. It's also the big area for outdoor games too. I want to go again.

Nice place to catch the Statue of Liberty ferry. Excellent parking space available for just $7. Getting the tickets online or early is the best option as it gets sold very quickly. Historical place to see the first railway tracks taking all the immigrants to the main city. Very good place to come with family and spend some quality time.

Liberty State Park is truly a wonderland. It has a stunning view of the Manhattan skyline. Whether you’re here to exercise or just take a stroll on it’s paved walkways throughout the park or just sit on the benches and appreciate the majestic view of the Statue of Liberty and watch boats coming and going to Liberty Island, is one of the most satisfying experience you can have. You can also enjoy the ample open space to play with friends and families or fly a kite or have a picnic. Picnic tables and grills are available. Plenty of parking spaces too. We parked at the Flag Plaza since it has the better view of the Statue of Liberty. It is one of the best parks and already planning to experience its beautiful scenery in the evening time.

Wow gorgeous view of the New York City from the Liberty State Park.

We wanted to visit in the evening to get the view of the Downtown New York at the moonlight time, we were awe 🫢 struck with the view of the Skyscrapers. Hudson River acts as a jewel around the neck of the Skyscrapers. Place is very good for a evening walk with the awesome view.

Cost effective compared to the night ferries and worth a visit during the evening - night time.

We get to stay until 10.00 PM and there are couple of announcements made before the closing time by a Patrol Officer. Ample Car 🚘 Parking 🅿️ spaces are available for Parking.
Such a lovely site. Lots of space to picnic or just chill out. Very good bicycle paths. Well worth the visit!
Nice picnic benches, bbq area, grounds and washrooms.
Kinda crowded, not very peaceful, but pretty sunset

Despite the slight crowds and lack of tranquility, Liberty State Park still manages to captivate visitors with its breathtaking sunset views. The park boasts plenty of picnic areas, ideal for delightful outdoor meals and gatherings. Additionally, the abundance of parking spaces ensures easy and convenient access to the park, making it a viable destination for nature enthusiasts and families looking to spend quality time outdoors.

Liberty State Park is a 1,212-acre haven located in Jersey City, New Jersey, offering stunning views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the New York City skyline. Whether you're a history enthusiast, an outdoor adventurer, or simply someone seeking a peaceful escape, this park has something for everyone.

Parking: Parking can be limited, especially during peak season. Consider arriving early or utilizing public transportation.

Ferry Tickets: Tickets to Liberty and Ellis Island can be purchased online or at the park.

Great location to book for an outdoor picnic for a large group- at a very good price point! There’s a large covered area with picnic tables and a nice lawn next to it. Lots of parking at the attached parking lot.
Nice Park with less or no complaints, the picnic table with shelter for any family/ friends get together is very helpful even during this Pandemic!
