The staff here is literally the worst. Condescending Attitude! Micro aggressive! Last week the staff told me that I can bring a guest, but when you do, you get told that you can't. I told them whether they can arrange a visit for the guest, they said they can only offer to someone who is really interested in being a member. To make things worse, the female staff there was laughing when we told them I don't take my visa with me. What's so funny？！！！ It's your fault that you can't take ApplePay! Shame on all of you! I feel very offended by these racist staff!!
Great gym, a lot of machine and free weights. Nice recent machines. Locker room, steam room and sauna are pretty clean. Two major drawbacks though:
- people seem to be hoarding lockers and lock them when they leave. As a result, most lockers are locked even when the gym is empty. Super annoying for customers when you have to go through 20+ lockers to find one that you can use. Why can’t you just unlock them all at night (or even once a week) and take the remaining items to the lost and founds?
- my membership increased without notice. When I called the front desk, they told me that they informed me by mail 6 weeks prior. I have never received this mailpiece. I do believe that FFC sent it and it just went missing, but I would have very much appreciated an email or text notice as well. Just making sure that the customers are aware that the membership is going to increase.. Mail goes missing all the time, it’s absolutely not pleasant for a customer to realize by looking at their bank account that their membership increased.

Kind people who have graciously allowed us the use of their facilities while our nearby apartment building is without hot water or heat in some areas. I’ve also been to FFC on a guest pass before and each time been impressed with the service. If you are in need of a gym this is the one!
I’m currently without heat & hot water at my apartment building and FFC Gold Coast has allowed all tenants at my building to use their facilities (shower, water, coffee, etc) in this time of need. I am so grateful for this organization. FFC cares about the wellbeing of all and their integrity is showing in this situation. Can’t thank them enough
This gym has everything you need. They even have a lounge (with free coffee) that you can work from. The staff is amazing and Gale, the owner, is a gem of a person. I couldn’t be happier.
The astroturf field in the image is the roof of the gym! What a great view and overall amazing property. Special shout-out to Carlos who has saved me many times from a lockout without judging
Overall a decent gym, good equipment. One strange encounter I had with their spa front desk with a lady named Dawn. I wanted to inquire about their massage chairs for Signature members because I received an email about it. She was bizarrely dismissive and kept repeating "No no no no no no" like 4 times and "I have no idea what you are talking about" as I asked if there is a "relaxation" or a "quiet" room to go to after a work out. Poor disoriented lady could not put 2 and 2 together that a relaxing or a quiet room could be the place she is standing next to. I finally showed her the email and the magic word "recovery" room. DING. I almost felt she did not want to be bothered. Lack of training and awareness can be forgiven but the way you handle your member (and the words you use i.e. NO no no no no no no) somehow sticks. So 2 stars for that. Rest of the gym experience 4 stars.
Garrett is a great instructor who made me feel very safe and comfortable in the class! All the staff are very friendly and the gym is so clean. I can’t wait to keep coming here.
I love this gym. It's a perfect mix of down-to-earth and nice. There's always such an upbeat vibe here. Generally fixes my mood if I feel beat down 😹 it gets pretty busy in the early evenings, which can feel overwhelming....but I can always find some machine that's open. AND I love the awesome classes!!
I’ve had a great time at this gym so far. Love having access to an outdoor pool. The classes have been great. I have a weird schedule so they don’t always align. Again I go at weird times so it’s never super busy. For the price, it’s definitely worth it. Feels sooooooo much nicer than the LA Fitness I used to go to. Very clean and I’ve never had any sort of issues.
Best gym in the neighborhood. Always super clean and friendly staff. They do day passes and weekly passes for purchase if you want to try it out. It was super quick to sign up.
Amazing experience. I would highly recommend. Their attention to detail is very impressive. From the time you get to the front desk the staff take care of your every need. The service providers are very professional and enjoy what they do.
Diamond gave a fabulous massage! She was attentive to feedback and helped work out some tough spots. Good experience and will definitely try to book with her again.
Very clean facilities. Indoor pool is small. Roof pool is tiny. Both still nice features. Holiday hours are typically very short. Extending the holiday hours would be great.

The main complaint is the hours. Why are we closing at 9pm? There's absolutely no good explanation for this. When I signed up it was until 9:30. Those of us who workout in the evening have a small window of time after getting off work to get in. You need to extend your hours to at least 10pm.

Has the potential to be a good gym again. They need longer evening hours, and they need to clean more. There have been drain worms in the shower stalls off and on for a year or two.
They need to stop cutting corners and spend the extra little bit to get the details right.

Amazing experience. We took the couple massages and was the most relaxing I could ask for. Christina my masseuse was the best ❤️ The staff was really caring. After the massage we stayed at the sauna and the hot tub. Highly recommended
No one to greet us at the front lobby. Waited 9 minutes before I called and someone answered and came out from the back. Facilities were fine. Sauna and steam room were off and had to wait to heat up. My appointment was scheduled with a female and I ended up with a male massage therapist so I didn’t have to come another time. The massage was okay. Not great. Not terrible. When I got done I ask my husband if his massage therapist had put a wash cloth over his eyes when he rolled onto his back he said yes. Mine did not. I asked if she had brought his robe and laid it on the end of the massage table and put his slippers next to it like they typically do. He said yes. Mine did not. All those little things contributed to a disappointing overall experience. The staff comped us two glasses of champagne but the overall experience was certainly not what you’d expect. Especially for the cost.
Just finished an 80 min couples massage experience. First, the facility is nice what you would expect from the JW. Jamie was my masseuse, she was excellent. The best I’ve experienced. Very aware of sore spots and just overall excellent. My wife’s masseuse was great as well!
Loved my experience in the spa! Everything was so clean and I felt so pampered. I loved using the sauna and steam room after my massage. The massage therapist I had was amazing. Jessica delivered an excellent deep tissue massage and made me feel so comfortable and cared for. I walked out feeling like jello! But in a good way :) I liked it so much I came back the next day and asked for her specifically. Talk about a wonderful pampering experience! Also Marla at the front desk greeted me with a smile and kind nature every time I spoke with her. I would come back to the hotel just for the spa! Thank you for helping this busy mom unwind and relax this weekend.
Its such a Beautiful Spa...i enjoyed all of the amenities except the pool I didn't get to that and by the time I did there were a number of kids which was fine I went right back into the relaxation room. The front desk staff of the Spa were amazing and Patricia checked on us often to make sure we had everything we needed. The next time I return I will definitely book a service

If you are a commuter downtown and looking for a convenient, super clean 5 star facility then you have come to the right place.
Benefits:
- the gym has both free weights and machines along with ample cardio equipment.
- there is a yoga studio that also holds complimentary fitness classes. The schedule for the spa is emailed every weekend.
- the indoor pool is small but almost always empty given this hotel caters mostly to the business types.
- the bathroom is the spa bathroom so a lot cleaner than a regular gym with shaving amenities, hair spray, hot towels etc.
- complimentary fruits( apples and bananas) as well as water bottles are provided.
- you usually have a lot of room, peace and quiet during non peek hours.
- you get your own personal locker with a code so can leave your stuff there.
- you get a discount for Spa services as a member.
- hot Sauna and steam rooms are included.
Cons:
- I could have potentially taken a star out given the gym can get pretty busy during peek hours (early morning, after 5 and during lunch times) because this facility is also used by hotel guests. This however, does not mean that the bathrooms would be full given the hotel guests don't tend to use those facilities.
I'm paying $89 per month and received a discount on my initiation when I mentioned that I work across the street.
This is truly a hidden "gym" with a great value in the heart of downtown Chicago.
