Loved this place! Was recommended by a friend. We went on the Monday bank holiday so we did expect to wait but wasn’t too much of a queue, was given menus outside so we could already decide which was great.
Food was amazing and so worth the wait.
I got a cowboy bagel and we shared some kids chocolate pancakes and both were 10/10
Also the chocolate milkshake with coffee liquor was to die for
Will defo be returning

Menu pretty much what you expect for a good brunch venue.

Fantastic place, food was superb and the day with some sun all worked together well, 4 people started and main meal £99.00! Worth a visit even just the once.

These pancakes hit different, delicious and great portions! The ingredients were fresh and had a homemade taste which is always so nice. The vibe was lovely and the staff were really friendly, we felt very comfortable. Our iced vanilla coffees complimented our food and the syrup added an extra bit of sweetness. I would highly recommend when in Brighton!

Ordered the scrambled eggs and salmon, this came as tinned salmon mixed in with eggs rather than slices of smoked salmon on the side as is usual (and what I’ve had at this cafe before). Charging £10 for cheap, tasteless tinned salmon and eggs seems a rip off

Wow! What an absolutely top-notch cooked breakfast. Sausages and mushrooms were especially great! (It normally comes with eggs too, but I don't like them). The serving team were lovely and the view is awesome!
Perfect way to start a long weekend 😁
Thanks all.

Had a delicious brunch this morning at Kooks!
We were served by Poppy who was very attentive and friendly! (Also appreciated how lovely she was with my elderly mother)
Would definitely recommend and will certainly go back when we are next visiting 🙂

What a charming beach cafe!! Visited Brighton yesterday and enjoyed my lunch at Lucky Beach Cafe :). I didn’t get the hostesses name, but she made my experience here fantastic.

It was super hot yesterday and I was wanting to sit at a shaded table on the patio. However, there were no spots available at the time. The hostess offered to put my name down for the next open spot and asked if I would like to sit on the shaded steps and have a cup of ice water in the meantime :). I waited for no more than 5 minutes and a table opened up! Thank you so SO much for your kindness!! Excellent service :).

The food was solid as well— I got the fish and chips. Fish was battered and fresh. Watch out for some bones… fries were well seasoned and crispy :)!
As a group of 6, we celebrated both our daughter’s graduations today. Really lovely atmosphere , great food and service. A big thank you to our waitress Sonia who made our dinner even more special. Thank you so much. Xx

Always a pleasure dining at the ivy chain. Attentive staff always friendly and willing to go that extra mile. It wasn't the fastest of service this evening but was very very busy. Food again always really nice but my ribeye was slightly overcooked would suggest the fillet more as that was cooked to perfection. Really great job guys keep doing what you do best.

Definitely worth a visit if your in Brighton.

Brunch here was pretty alright I’d say! It hit the spot but was quite expensive for what you got. I spent £10.50 on 4 “American style” pancakes and they were very small and thin which didn’t feel worth it. My partner said her sandwich was decent and the chips were very nice. I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant very much, it was cosy but still had a lot of room. I think it might have been a bit understaffed or something because the waiters all seemed rushed of their feet and it took a very long time for the food to come. The bathroom was in need of a thorough deep cleaning. I probably wouldn’t go back but it’s nice enough.

Food was yummy and they accommodated some of my additional requests! Crab cake was yummy and so were the picked additions. Slightly on the more expensive side but a lovely treat to sit on the terrace. Downside were the smokers that congregate by the terrace, wasn’t always the most pleasant dining experience.

Breakfast food was delicious. Smash avo on toast with smoked salmon was exceptional. Each item of the English breakfast was cooked well which probably accounts why the wait for the food was a bit long. Byt we were happy with the food so can’t complain. Coffee, and Chai Latte was great. Glen was friendly 👍

Overall, this restaurant offers good service and has a welcoming team that provides excellent service. However, the prices are relatively high compared to similar restaurant. The steak with no sauce and side for chips) a notable item on their menu, was just average and did not stand out. Despite the positives, the high prices and average quality of the steak might make it difficult for some customers to justify frequent visits.

Came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. It was nice and quiet and a great feel to the place. The people here are really nice.
Food came quickly and it was delicious. We both had an eggs benedict, I added hallomi and my husband had added a sausage.
Would definitely come back here again :)

We scouted this place out and it did NOT disappoint. The iced latte had chocolate milk with a double espresso and a hint of hazelnut - bloody delicious. Speaking of bloody, their (bloody) Mary was excellent, just the right balance of spicy, sweet and sour. Our breakfast dishes came out quickly and the full English was simply a delight and one of the best breakfast plates I’ve had in a while. I have to mention a part of the crab cake was undercooked, but the crab was fresh.

A lovely hidden gem with delicious food and drinks in a cool environment. We came here for breakfast this morning and were pleasantly surprised. The pancakes were fluffy and the orange juice was sweet. Will definitely be returning next time we visit Brighton.
Went for the classic fish and chips dosh, which is my first fish and chips in the UK. The fish is very tasty, a bit puffy and unique. Amazing views, vibes and service. It was lovely weather as well.

Fresh crisp flavours with an amazing uninterrupted view across the beach to the sea. Lunch stop and we had the crab tostadas along with tandoori monkfish kebobs. Both excellent and we cannot believe this was our first visit. We will be back for sure. Service was friendly and the feedback appreciated in the kitchen. Thank you.

Please make sure you visit Lucky Beach cafe whilst you're in Brighton. We came here for breakfast AND lunch and the food and service were absolutely outstanding. Friendly smiles and a laid back atmosphere, it's such a gorgeous spot on the seafront. Don't miss the fish tacos, fish & chips, amazing coffee and the watermelon spritzers. Thank you Lucky Beach team!
very warm welcome from checking in, It was my partners birthday and from the start she was wished happy birthday, and courteously was given a birthday gift cake with a candle and a chocolate tablet saying “happy birthday”, all waiters & waitresses were VERY polite, Very helpful, Very welcoming and friendly with big smiles. We will definitely be booking here again

Brunch with a mate after a tennis session- so was hungry. Service from the waiters/waitresses was brilliant, the food was well cooked and tasted good. Only slight negative was it took about 30 minutes to come out, but they were busy. Would come again!
We visited here for my brother's 30th and it was my first time at an Ivy, it did not disappoint. We were looked after by Fin at the lanes and he was brilliant, quality service and very friendly.
The food was outstanding. I had the mozzarella to start and it was without a doubt one of the best mozzarella dishes I've had. Then the Ginger and Soy-glazed
Slow-roasted aubergine which was delicious. Everyone loved their meal and I can't wait to book my next visit.
Must visit and must try and very expensive.

This restaurant has been on our list for Brighton and it didn’t disappoint.

Couldn’t reserve the table, but got a table in 15mins.

We have tried Pancakes with Berries and maple syrup and fried chicken rancheros.
The strange combination worked really well.

Coffee for some reason was served lukewarm and amber juice is very well made.

We recently visited Kooks for brunch and had a fantastic experience. The Eggs Benedict was absolutely delicious, perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The coffee was also excellent, a perfect complement to the meal.

Our server, Kitty, was exceptional. She was very professional, attentive, and friendly, making our visit even more enjoyable. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was welcoming and comfortable.

We will definitely be returning to Kooks. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great brunch spot!

We stopped by while we were visiting in Brighton and had a delicious breakfast.

It’s a relaxed atmosphere and all the staff are very welcoming. You just order at the till and it didn’t take long at all for the food to come. They have a lot of vegan/vegetarian options and also are able to cater for any other allergies you may have. The food itself was perfect and hit the spot, would definitely recommend the pancakes.
I love the Breakfast Club but this visit wasn't as lovely as usual. The restaurant is quite dark, we stayed at a booth at the back. And it took us over an hour to get food... Food seemed smaller portions than previous visits. Tasty anyway. I think there was some problem with the kitchen which made the whole hen do brunch quite disappointing.

Nevertheless, 10/10 for the staff for their brilliant and understanding customer service. The Irish guy deserves the employee award - thank you very much for sorting things out and the huge discount to compensate for the wait.

We had the set menu, starters, shepherds pie for mains and it was very delicious. We also ordered some greens on the side, glass of wine each, bottle of water and deserts. It all came to just under £100, just to give you an indication how much you are likely to spend on a 3 course meal and drinks.
Everything was very tasty, beautifully presented and decent portions.
The service was prompt and friendly, we felt well looked after. Overall a great experience.

Booked a week ago for mine and my partners 10 year anniversary and I couldn't be more grateful for the way they made our day so special. The welcome from Hugo and Alba was so welcoming... we had a lovely table by the window and our waitress Emily was amazing I honestly couldn't fault her, she was very attentive and recommended delicious dishes... I had the sea bass and my partner the ribeye steak that was cooked perfectly (compliments to the chef) and then after a surprise dessert to wish us a happy anniversary.
Thank you everyone at the Ivy for making our anniversary a memorable one xx

Food was good you won’t regret your morning brunch here.
However, there’s always long queue so it’s always best you book your number whilst take stroll nearby and come back when your number is being called.
It’s a breakfast place so the crowd is always full and loud. If you are with kids hopefully this would be a claustrophobic for them or for you to manage them here.

For friends group and couple probably the good place to eat and enjoy your time.

Price I think it’s on the mid to upper range but since the portions are good size I am mostly fine by trading off there.

Had breakfast here for the first time today and it was excellent, as a coeliac it’s not always easy to find places that cater well to dietary requirements but almost everything could be made gluten free! It’s also a peanut free zone, so safe for those with peanut allergies!

I had the eggs royale with hash browns on the side. Portion size was perfect and the gluten free sourdough toast was delicious.

Will definitely be back on our next trip to Brighton!

The atmosphere and music playlist were amazing. The mugs and plates were also very well-chosen! Only thing we didn't like was the haddock chowder as it was too salty. I would have also preferred the potato to be blended than chunky as it is

New to Lost in the lanes, very happy I chose this place to celebrate with my mum for an early Mother’s Day lunch.

Busy, and vibrant yet comfortable and friendly.

Food and drink options are great, we opted for the:

ROASTED CAULIFLOWER £16
Hummus, salsa verde, golden sultana, flat bread (v,veo, ngo)

SQUASH & SAGE RISOTTO £16
Brown butter (veo)

Drinks:
Turmeric vanilla oat latte & an apple juice.

Reasonably priced and tasty.

Highly recommend booking in advance as extremely busy and popular, today the queues leading outside.

I visited there with my friend on 4 March. Although English is our second language, the staff is friendly and patient in helping us order meals. Moreover, the toilets are very clean. Highly recommended!

We ordered 2 English breakfast and and the first they don't do sausages next where told that toast came with it but got lightly toasted cibatta, next scrambled eggs came in chunks, the bacon was over cooked and and the tomatoes had oregano sprinkled all over and over powering the flavour, mushrooms where hard, with a pot of tea for 2 it came to £30.00,.
The worse breakfast we have ever had at a highly inflated price, think you need to be trained and look at your prices as we usually get a better breakfast with more ingredients and cooked properly for below £20.00 for 2.
Needless to say we won't be revisiting again

A busy, atmospheric escape true to its name with friendly and welcoming staff. I'm now addicted to their avocado toast and turmeric latte much to my surprise and despite my own resistance haha.

Their sweet treats are fresh and delicious and you won't regret anything you eat here. I've had repeat visits and consistently positive experiences here and even when it's busy, there is a quiet corner to be found and if not, the staff are genuinely apologetic and suggest or try and find ways to make space for you.

Absolutely love this space and definitely my go to favourite in Brighton.

Came for breakfast due to the good reviews.
Ordered a cheese and ham toasty and pancakes for my wife.
Hers was nice and big portions. They had forgotten mine as my wife had finished hers when I was offered a very overcooked toasty. They tried again but rushed it as it was a half cooked attempt this time.
It tasted awful. Had to get a refund.
Such a shame. Left hungry and disappointed.
Very nice place.. Every morning, I am here for their tasty coffees!☕

Wanted to fill the little one up before we left her at Uni. Saw good reviews for this place, and so pleased we went. The food came out pretty quickly even though they were really busy.

Had to queue for 10 mins to be seated, but just meant we could browse the food they were dropping off at the tables to decide what to have. Beautifully poached eggs and the smashed peas with kale tasted amazing. Oh and the hash browns .... they were amazing. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Came here for the hot chocolate (70%) and it did not disappoint - essentially melted chocolate and it was hot; not the luke warm made from powder rubbish most places serve. Can't comment on the coffee but the focaccia was also good
Cute cafe for a little brekky. Able to help for gluten free (intolerance). The staff was so friendly & lovely. Delish coffee & matcha lattes. I enjoyed a gluten free flapjack and a huge fruit platter they put together for me!

The French toast was sensational! My sister had the smoked salmon eggs benedict and didn't like the raw-ish texture of the salmon

Visited with my daughter Stef, she is a regular and recommended Black Mocha
We had a lovely brunch and the smoothie was delicious. Will definitely visit again on my next trip to Brighton

Myself and my partner stopped in here during my work break while waiting for a shoe shop to open.

Fantastic friendly service and uniquely tasty drinks make this place a delightful choice to stop in for a chill out. I highly recommend this to anyone walking the lanes. There are a lot of cafes in Brighton so you've got to be picky, and we choose this one!

Really lovely independent coffee shop, friendly staff clean facilities and delicious brunch food at fair price point for students and gluten free/veggie options. Been twice and will definitely be back again.

So nice.. high quality, fresh, delicious, tasty food. They have vegan and vegetarian option too. I had vegetarian breakfast quite filling and good for budget. Definitely go again.

I am very happy I visited coho and here are the reasons: The Staff was excellent, very kind and fast, 3 different members of staff helped us either by taking an order for the table or bringing extra water. Everyone simply kind.

The food: It was great! I included pictures. Me and my gluttonous friends decided to get a dish for each and then an extra for the table as we all wanted to try the Coho French Toast. I am very happy with the food. The eggs had the perfect egg yolk (for me) and I know people can be tough to satisfy when it comes to it and the French toast was amazing. The menu has all the classic options for Brunch.

There’s also a backyard that’s outside and we didn’t know about it until after we left but it looked beautiful for a sunny day! Highly recommend this place, especially for the great service. It’s opposite Hixon Green that despite having good food has awful service. I am very happy and can’t wait to go again!

A wonderful cafe, with a great selection of cakes, pastries and sandwiches. They also have specialty drinks, maybe seasonal? Their 70% hot chocolate is to die for, try it if available! Their coffee is amazingly tasty, take a bag home with you- they have roasting their own selection. Staff is lovely, very knowledgeable and friendly- don’t be afraid to ask for recommendations! If you are lucky, grab a table outside and be amazed by the pedestrian traffic going by… this is such a perfect spot!

A+++ This is Brighton part of town that is very trendy. This cafe/store is the perfect place 👌 for it. The staff is very chill, helpful, good food, great coffee. On the customer side it's easy to see that everybody is speaking to anyone without knowing each others, Love it ❤. Don't be surprised to see people walking down the street with or without any gender looking, it's brilliant.
Wheelchair ♿ friendly. Definitely give it a go...
(Shop is second hand or brocante)

The Elm Grove Cafe is very local to me and sports the usual big breakfast scenario but with an additional twist of offering alongside the great traditional hangover fry up you can also indulge in freshly prepared Mediterranean delights. This cafe offers a huge selection of both meat and veggie options.
What a place to start your day at.
Very friendly staff, delicious and fairly priced food. They've got amazing smoothies for such a cosy place. Students, you are welcomed here!

A pleasant little place for anytime of the day.
With a relaxing atmosphere and friendly members of staff; you couldn't really ask for much more from a highstreet café.☕

I'm no food critic; but here's my take:
Taste: You might find yourself wanting more.
Presnetation: Rather well plated for a café!
Price: Your wallet will be kind of full; much like yourself.

There's also a shop inside the shop. 🛍️

The 🚻 is at the rear-right of the place.

Have a nice day! 👣

Delicious right size breakfast. The only transparent and ethical breakfast cafe I have seeing in Brighton. Their prices was inclusive of hot drink. They are about 30% cheaper than others in the area. Bacon and sausage was well cooked and quality was high. Highly recommends this cafe to all.
