1st time here. Very friendly, family style atmosphere. Food was good (some items lacked salt). But the service was great. We will come back.

New Horizon is a throw back, homey place that rarely disappoints! Friendly staff, great food at a reasonable price, extensive menu that has something sure to please everyone. George is the very hard working owner who makes fabulous homemade soup and bakes all the delicious bread. I have never brought anyone there who was disappointed.

It was a cute experience with my girlfriend!! The food was very good and definitely what I expected from a small diner. The atmosphere was homey and kinda retro. And the staff was just excellent!! Always treating us with respect and getting food/drinks out super quickly. That made the experience the best!!!

Great breakfast and lunch prices. You can play the slot machines while eating. Very comfortable and cozy atmosphere.

(problem, added tip) my family and i have been coming to diamond for years and had always had wonderful service and it has always been my favorite place to go when i come visit and before i moved. the problem is i always tip based on service and today my service wasn’t all that great. our server wouldn’t come to the table often and would let our coffee run empty before refilling which is a first for me. when we got our check, the bill was very high and me and my family were confused since we’ve been coming here for a long time and that’s the highest it’s ever been. turn out they add they’re own tip which is a minimum of 20% after a certain amount which is new and i understand but i asked even if we didn’t like the service do we still have to tip 20% and was told yes by the young lady in the front. i find it really sad to say since this is my favorite place but me and my family will not be returning back. i always tip good, sometimes over 20% but this is the limit for me.

Honestly food was good but very standard. If you’re looking for a quick and simple go to meal this might be your place. The service was okay didn’t feel welcomed unfortunately and almost like we were being rushed out of there. The place was comfy and calm.

Shop local !! If you have not tried New Horizon on aprox.. 147th and Central you are missing out! Their portions are huge and the quality is outstanding! And SO affordable!Being a good cook myself it is hard to go out to eat because so many places are just not good 👎🏻but every time we eat here I’m always amazed at how consistently delicious it is! We have tried a few other breakfast places in Tinley/ Orland and nothing compares. At New Horizon the price, portions and quality are top notch. No I do not work here and am not affiliated at all… just LOVE good food. Such big portions we all had enough leftovers for an entire meal again. Looks like they also just updated their menu 🙌🙌🙌. When we walked in someone was gnawing on this huge turkey sandwich on their thick Greek homemade bread 🍞 so now I’m dying to go back and try some of the new lunch items. They have pasttitsio on the menu tonight and definitely gonna have to give that a try on carry out so we can all nap afterwards 😂😂

Been here several times now and overall have loved the consistency of the service and food. The time between sitting, taking your order, and being served is so quick. Restaurant is a little outdated as far as appearance, but they are on top of things here and it's clean. I have never had to ask for something twice. Love the breakfast here!

Old school pancakes and breakfast. Loved it. We went at an off time, so we sat right down. Some of our food came out cold, but they fixed it. Best breakfast in the area. Price was not expensive.

Excellent service and food. Our waitress Paola was awesome and very attentive. I got the southwest skillet 🍳 with chorizo, pepperjack cheese, potatoes, onions, and jalapeños. Side order of pancakes. Everything was very good

First time today. Had the cinnamon french toast which was very good and not to be found at a lot of places. Great service, nice layout, not too crowded, older place but clean. I'll come back and try some other things.

Our experience was great. Took the wife and baby and they had a great experience they gave a pancake on the house for our baby as we waited for our food. The waitress was kind and on point if we needed anything. The atmosphere was great no issues the volume with everyone there wasn’t bad at all. Overall I recommend them

Had some of the best French Toast I’ve ever had here. The Caramel French Toast was perfectly fluffy, and paired well with the grapefruit juice I ordered. Downside was that it didn’t come with a side, so side will be charged extra. I ordered fresh fruit for mine and the fruit tasted sweet and fresh. The Dutch Treat was also a great and delicious sharing piece to get. Service was excellent, and even though it was during rush hour, the waitresses were very attentive and not time-pressing. I’m not much of a French Toast fanatic, but this one order might be one of the reasons I will be coming back!

Absolutely wonderful place to get breakfast with amazing waitresses, amazing food, and all for a very decent price! Love this place and if you haven't tried it, you absolutely should!

This place had a very welcoming atmosphere from the moment you entered it. The staff was kind and considerate and they even had a baby seat sling to use. This was a tremendous help. The food was portioned well and was delicious. I recommend the biscuits and gravy. The best biscuits and gravy I've ever had! Will definitely be coming back here again and recommend it to all I know.

I use a walker. The restaurant was easily accessible. We were greeted and brought to a table. We were were given water and drink order taken in quick succession. It was crowded, but our food came quickly. It was piping hot. The waitress was polite and friendly, nice smile. She did come back to see how everything was going and if we needed anything. Pleasant experience.

I feel guilty about this review because the staff and the service was some of the best that I've had. French fries that are so overcooked they should be called potato chips. She said she would tell management but nothing came of it. And serve your customer ones that are not overcooked. Will not return.

I've been to plenty of Original Pancake Houses in different states, and this was the only one where I was denied substituting hash browns for eggs. There wasn't an up charge option. Just a flat out no. A small part of me felt as if the waitress was lying, but I digress.

I would be okay with not visiting this location again.

Drove by this place a few times. But this time, we decided to go in and try them out. Food was good service was good. They were short on staff, so it took a lil while to get our food. When it came, it was hot. Thumbs up 👍🏽 to the server. Make sure you bring cash it's a 4% mark up with card..

Ordered Breakfast Via GRUB HUB, so my only complaint is that of course one pays so much more for items than if dined in. Pics attached & are all from the extra menu w/ exception of the grits. The quality was good. Beware, I’ve ordered the skillet before & the chopped potatoes under the eggs are orange in color and have very little veggie as it’s pictured on the website. I’d order again as needed for the convenience.

It's a little small place ..but they take good care of you.. the food was delicious I have the breaded pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes and green beans /cream of chicken rice soup.. my husband had the fried Chicken.. we had a great dinner and we will be back. Good fair price.. great waitress and host.😊

This was a great Breakfast place for Walt and I. Everything was great, eggs, the Hash browns was the real shredded potatoes Hash browns. The Steak was Hugh and very tender. The Pancakes were great also. Don't let me forget the Service, the Lady who waited on me was so beautiful to me. Thanks to the Cook and the Lady who Service me. This was our first time ever coming here. But not our last.

Diamonds is your typical pancake house with a warm atmosphere and friendly service. We were greeted with a warm "good morning" by the hostess and seated in Stephanie's section. Stephanie also greeted us with a warm smile and a hot cup of coffee. She was friendly and helpful throughout our visit.

We ordered the California skillet plus the ham and cheese omelette. Both dishes were delicious, fresh veggies and meat were used that had a great homey taste. The hashbrowns were cooked well and seasoned just right. The French toast wich you could choose instead of a bread or pancakes was an unexpected surprise. I can not say enough about the French Toast, it was crispy not soggy like at most other places and oh sooooo good.

If you want a good down home breakfast then you need to try this place soon

This establishment is in an older building so don't expect lavish modern surroundings. However, this in no way interferes with how good of a breakfast experience you will have
