I've been wanting to try this place out. The service was a very friendly. I loved all the selection as well. Perhaps it was a terrible first experience of the food, but we bought this beautiful looking sourdough bread for a very fair price at less than 40 rands. Once it was in my hands, immediately I felt like I regretted the purchase because the bread was really hard. However, I still had hope because sourdough could be soften when heated up...but it was so salty! I've been ordering a lot of sourdough recently from places and this one is not edible for me. O don't know what to do with it now because I don't want to waste food and I don't want to give it to someone else. Perhaps I could go back and have it fixed but it's a drive for me and not worth it.
We got served by a guy called Cakes. He has impeccable customer service skills, who made sure we have everything we needed at our table and made sure I got the out of the meal I wanted. I really enjoyed my breakfast and side of wings. Happy customer
Our meeting held at spur calton centre on the 17th of Aug was soo amazing.Our waiter Andiswa was a bubble,energetic, friendly and professional...,her service was quick and fast...she smiled till the end.Not forgetting the managers on duty who were soo welcoming and made us feel at home...
Cakes (Kookies) gave us one of the best service across Spurs visited. Will definitely be calling again because of his hospitality.

One of the best waitresses I've ever had, ever. Forgot her name, but I gave immediate recognition to her manager on my day of visit.
Food were great tasting. Everything, especially the greek salad, were crisp and fresh. Meats were filled with flavor, not only of the sauce but you could actually taste the meats!!!!

We didn't wait for a table at all and we're seated immediately on a Saturday afternoon. The food arrived quickly as well and the waiters were very friendly
Lovely staff! The ham and cheese croissant was so bland. The banana bread is way too overpriced for one slice. And the coffee is nothing spectacular.

I love it Still has an old school feel like they still sing unlike the ones I have been to that play birthday songs from the speaker 🙄🥱 The birthday song is so cool as well 😂🤣 shoutout to whoever remixed it. The service was not the greatest only because waitors can disappear for some time but they are friendly staff, and the wait for food was not long. But, i'm not too uptight about that I understand it can get busy.

Ordered a birthday cake using the birthday voucher (10% off). Got the cake on time and they even walked me to my destination. Cake tasted good.
I have breakfast here about twice a week. Food is amazing... But please ensure that your toilets are clean in the mornings. Overall hygiene in the bathrooms are poor. Have noticed it on more than one occasion.
I had a great meal earlier today,the atmosphere there was cool. Nice music and the meal was deliciously delicious 😋 my waitress was on point ,she checks every here and then (Eunice) I shall come back bcos or ur service.
As French I was craving for a croissant 🥐 and found that bakery while shopping at the Rosebank mall and let me tell you that I was not disappointed! The plain croissant was good and convinced me to get more there so I went for the Benedict eggs and waffle! It was delicious, I’m so glad I had it and definitely recommend that place!

Wow this Spur is awesome service and atmosphere was wonder tool mom for birthday supper and when we left a take away was not in the bag called the restaurant they where more then will to send the order home service with a smile. Oh and big up to Buhle wonder and friendly waitress thank you for smile and friendly service
Great coffee! They have decaf and oat milk. And the pastries are very good as well - tried the cinnamon bun and the pain au chocolat.
On my eternal search for the balance of quality vs value I landed up here.
I had the Shakshuka which was a 9 out of 10, the only reason not a ten is that I wanted more.
My family had the signature Rosti breakfast which was way too oily for the morning breakfast.
For this reason the average star rating is average.

my family and i went for Sunday lunch Amanda was our server she was excellent and very hands on but she did not tell us that there was a pensioner menu we were told about the menu by other guests sitting opposite us our server said she forgot the menu was cheaper and ample also spurs at new market mall Little eagles failed to tell us why the big secret ?
We were served by Nocy. She warmly welcomed us, got us well seated. She was available to assist when we needed to be attended. Food was good and came on time. Good place to enjoy a good meal at an affordable price.
Overall a great experience with the family. The only problem with this Spur is the sticky tables😪I mean we all know Spur is famous for those sticky and dirty tables, but I honestly thought the new strategy for the group was a cleaner and modern environment. Nevertheless, your food is great🙌.
The worst spur to relax there is a play area for kids. But yet the kids are running in between the tables screaming and crying and yet not one of the staff members calmed them down. There is airport security if they needed help with the parents. Honestly the worst atmosphere at any spur I have been to. Head office needs to hear about this the owner should not be owning a franchise if he can't control his customers. Yes kids must play but not in between tables running and screaming. Get some order in your house its a disgrace
What a disappointment. The food was cold. It's if they took the previous day's food and tried to heat it up. Service was very slow and there were not many people. What a shame it is so bad. They are in a good place for customers. I will never eat there again.

The spur was almost empty at the time. We ordered burgers and chips for take away because we had spent most of the day traveling and just wanted something quick to we can have an early night. We had to wait more than 30min. Got to our hotel only to find a burger that is in pieces and no salt or sauces for the chips. Other burger was dry with hardly any mayo. Not impressed 👎
I had a very bad experience. Took a friend for dinner and recieved flies and larvae in my drink. They left the glass assuring that they will correct the mistake. They came back with a second glass and this too had flies and larvae in the drink. I was so disgusted. We stood up and spoke to management there. The lady took our details and was supposed to phone us back.. every time we only get missed calls from spur and when we answer she said she will phone us back a cistomer walked in..... not acceptable as we are not being treated fairly at all!
Hands down one of the best Spurs I have ever been two. The staff are very attentive, and the managers are very friendly and helpful. Great food and a lovely atmosphere.

I don't write reviews often but was totally amazed by the service received from Sam Junior. Spur this is what customer service is. Thank you for making my lunch memorable and making my day with the exceptional service I received today. I was going to do a takeaway but sat in as Sam was so accommodating. My favorite was when I was asked to do a favor by Sam upon which I responded sure, and Sam said make sure you enjoy yourself. Well done Spur.

What a pleasant surprise. Staff friendly and eager to assist. Service is quick, friendly and to the T. The best milkshake we have had in a very long time. Big portions of food, well prepared and tasty.

We had my toddler's birthday party at Montexo Spur. The manager, Samantha, was amazing! Took note of all the requirements and ensured everything went smoothly. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The food was great but the overall experience was enhanced by the most amazing service received. Thank you!

The food was great. Not happy with Kutloano's service. She added another tables (2 party box) on to our bill, and when asked, she laughed it off and joked that she added in error however she knew what she was doing hoping we don't see it This is one of the reasons sometimes we don't tip, we don't go to certain restaurants because of dishonesty.
So. As with any other Spur steak ranch, the food was really great! But the service was pretty slow even though they were not at capacity. We waited for food for over an hour. This was disappointing. But the rib and wing combo- Excellent!

My wife and I's favourite Spur is fast becoming the worst one yet. I went for lunch with my son yesterday,ordered the Eisbein which looked delicious,took a few bites and decided to wrap it up as take away to have for dinner. Later that night,and a few more bites in I discovered that it was still raw. I could handle the service being slow and sluggish on account of the festive season however serving aw food is unacceptable.

Best Spur meal & service I have experienced. The staff watch over your luggage trolley that you can conveniently park at the entrance to the restaurant. The wi-fi wasn't working, not a hassle, one of the servers allowed me to 'hotspot' using their device. Friendly service from the 'get go' & the prego burger with onion rings & chips exceeded my expectations.
The draft beer was ice cold & I thoroughly enjoyed the entire dining experience. Thank you!

Their waiters and waitresses have zero customer skills. They are so rude , and it feels like you are annoying them by getting service. I gathered that 90% are from Zim, are they even here legally? Also, they stand at chit chat by the holding area at the door. I had to request for my waitress to be called 3 times. For a Spur that's in a mall it's shocking how bad the service is. I ordered their Buffalo wings ,they were so drenched in sauce I couldn't eat them. The experience is so different from other Spurs - never going to this one again. There isn't even a manager on site to oversee operations
I went there for dinner, umm i did not like the food...wings were hard n dry like they were cooked in ages, the steak wasn't nice, the manager did a second batch for me but honestly even the second food wasn't nice, onion rings were okay!
As I have given 5 star rating on this restaurant, it means that I was exceptionally satisfied with it, it was my first time here but I got impressed by their service and great food.
Although I was told that they don't grill their fish, but they managed to grilled it to perfection for me - kudos to that!

We ordered chicken wings and mushroom shareables, chicken wings weren't cooked properly, still bloody inside. Waiter was not the brightest cookie either. Continuosly had to repeat the orders. Manager also non chalant about our complaint. Will not be coming back.

Usually, it is a great place for dining and entertainment for kids. Last night, only the kids enjoyed. Maybe the waitress was not up to giving us the service we deserved. She would be attending other tables promptly, and when we needed her, we had to wait for long periods of time before she would come to our table. Even the manager would go to other tables to ask if they were fine, but stare at us and just pass by without asking. When we wanted to pay, at one point, the waitress was sitting at a table for over three minutes. When we were for the bill, we had to stop her because she had no intentions of coming to our table. What made my experience extremely terrible. When we were paying, she uttered something to her colleagues, they turned around, looked at us, and laughed loudly. With the little non-verbal communication that I know, whatever that was said was not nice. It felt I was a charity case or had won the meal for my family and I was not going to pay the service. It was like they, the waitress and manager, were doing us a favor by having us in their establishment and we had to be grateful to be in their presence.
While the food was delicious, the service was a little slow and our waiter kept getting our orders wrong. We received the incorrect bill in the end.

I just personally feel like the food got cold faster .But overall the service was great. My girlfriend enjoyed the outside area which we were sitted. She said the ribs were really . We definitely coming back ..Just a side tip ...please let couples enjoy their own company and only let one waiter to serve them and not every person in the restaurant ..that way the waiter already knows what the couple's needs and not have the couple get disturbed every time a new waiter asked them if they okay ..just give them space to enjoy ...
Went on a Sunday morning, it was quite busy so service was a bit slow and unfortunately we went during loadshedding hours, so their blended drinks weren't available, however the food was very tasty.

Ver cool space with couple of super nice terraces, the salvation coffee one is quite big and with lots of space. Wide range of offering in terms of meals and drinks, quality of food is ok taking into account the price. The beverages (juices and other) are quite good. The service is ok, but nothing amazing
Corner cafe is a family friendy place that offers some of the best bagels, my favourite being the feta and spinach. They are served with a side of either chips or salad. On a hot day, you can get a lovely coffee chilla. The staff are friendly and helpful. Corner Cafe is often busy so food can take a bit of time but it is well worth the wait.

Some of Spur's menu items are fabulous. Some are just overpriced!
Their coffee cups - hubby struggled to pick up the cup - there's no space between the cup's ear and saucer .... so he placed the saucer upside-down and it worked.
Onion rings - tasted like the oil has been used too many times. The Nachos Mexicana FULL portion - for R119,90. Oh my goodness, what a poor portion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The noise from the kids playing is very disturbing 😐. But I would recommend it to everyone either you are Celebrating your birthday or having a good meal💗
This place is simply fantastic. That’s all there is to it. We had one of the “duos”, which was the royale Benedict and Caribbean flapjacks. Both meals were absolutely delicious, beautiful flavors and beautifully prepared and presented. I could come here everyday
We had a super delicious breakfast here! The atmosphere was great. A little hidden hotspot with really good food, whether breakfast, lunch or dinner. You can sit inside or outside. The pictures speak for themselves! Absolute recommendation. 😍

Firstly the owner being present makes all the difference. Food is absolutely spectacular, service good. Definitely Johannesburg best breakfast spot. The staff standing in front need to learn how to greet though and take a tip from the owner.
Corner Cafe is a small, but well run restaurant. Food is good and the prices are reasonable. It's also child friendly and the kids love their "chip n dip."
Love that they opened up the restaurant by taking down the wall. Place getting more natural light👌🏾 Breakfast always great with varied options. Only issue I have is that they strangely charge for hot water &lemon 😱😱😱
Actually spur is my favorite restaurant. The food was delicious n it was my son's birthday so they sang for him and gave him a free delicious ice cream. He was so excited

Myself and my daughter went to the Salvation Cafe to try their famous New York cheesecake. We arrived to find that the cheesecake had sold out. We stayed and ordered the Vietnamese spring rolls and gorgonzola burger with some drinks. We waited almost 45 mins for our food to arrive while sitting at a shared table with another patron, without asking if it was okay with us. The other patron was seated 5 mins before us, received his food, ate and paid for his food while we were still waiting.I then requested to pay for my order and to have a takeaway instead after waiting for so long. And this is what we received. A gorgonzola sauce instead of melted on the burger, a burger... that had no lettuce, tomato, or any other condiments.The waitresses name is Cindy. It was a disappointing experience and I don't think I will be revisiting any time soon. We ended up having our food at a nearby park

Decided in the Bacon and Cheese burger and made it a double. That is 2x100g of patty served with onion rings and chips. A big meal for a small chap like me.

We ate here twice during our last visit, and were equally impressed with the quality of the food, and the friendly service.
Solid coffee shop with plenty of whole bean options. They also have an ample selection of brew hardware. The seating is refreshing, open, and with variety. They have traditional espresso and milk options as well as V60, chemex, and aero press for order. I didn’t try the food but it looks pretty good. I plan on coming back!

Was looking for a place to take a client for breakfast. Not being familiar with the area I had to rely on the reviews of others. Meal was tasteful and service was pleasant. Nothing out of the ordinary, average but all exceptable. Will go there again. Problem with restaurants catering for a niece market is that you can not compare them to mainstream restaurants offering all the frills.

What a lovely store. Not only did they take the time to call to make sure my order was correct, but everthing was freshly made and delicious! And even a handwritten note to thank me for ordering from them.

One of my favorite places to get a good kosher breakfast. Cheaper and tastier than another other kosher breakfast place. Great service too.

The cafe is great and has really good food selection. They just need to have enough stock of the ingredients of some of their popular meals because they run out very quickly.
The place should indicate order at counter. Disgusted that staff see you sit at a table outside and don't offer this bit of advice. Very poor service in my opinion.
I had a fun time. For a compact space it felt spacious. I like that they have table tennis at their store. It's really refreshing. The play area can be closed to contain the noise. I ordered a flat white, it was made at a suitable temperature, warm enough to drink. The milk used was taste with some sweet nodes to it. A great beverage when starting to take your coffee without sugar. Friendly customer service. They have an innovative means of accessing the menu via QR code on the dinning in tables, although they do have a menu at the counter, which is where you place your order. You order at the counter, and your order is served at your table. Hot and cold beverages are available, breakfast: toasted sandwiches, muesli, yogurt, fruits and etc are sold. It's a great gem.
Good coffee and amazing sandwiches, try the ham and cheese pretzel and the crosssiants.
Loved the cafè. The juice I had was delicious and the cheesecake with berry sauce hit the absolute right spot. The vibe is definitely worth the drive, could have spent the whole day there. Really looking forward to trying the rest of the menu.
