Food is fresh and hot, ready for order. First time I had a Mexican soda, so delicious. The team there were very kind and gave generous portions. The chipotle ranch was to die for. I will be back!
This is a great spot for happy hour in center city, they have $3 tacos and $6 margs. The margs are strong and at happy hour they're a great deal. They also have a sangria which is my favorite and under hyped. The tacos are good and during happy hour a steal! If you go outside of happy hour this place is definitely over priced, but for $3 you can't beat it from 4-6. The tacos aren't anything crazy, they're good but you can find some more flavorful ones down in the Italian market area, I honestly think they try to do too much with the tacos and you're left with something that's decent but nothing that's revolutionary.
The service is good, and they finally got rid of a mandatory service charge and pre-applied tip which I am very glad about, we went too many times and forgot and ended up tipping double what we intended. The place is a cute spot, very hipster-cali vibes. It is quite loud but for a nice happy hour out it's a good vibe.

I just picked up their soup of the day and it was a spicy beef and veggie jawn. They also gave me a small container of extra onions and cilantro, and some soft tortillas. It was pricey, but it was fire.🔥! Flavor for days!!! I’ve been looking for ppl who sell good soup. I will be back for sure.
Very lively atmosphere. A bit too loud for my comfort. Sitting at a picnic-style table with benches (and 5 other people in my group) there was nowhere to put outerwear. It was a chilly evening, and I had no choice but to sit with my bulky coat on my lap the entire time. Our server was outstanding! Very attentive despite it being a pretty busy Wednesday night. Chips were good and served with a nice selection of dips, including traditional salsa and guacamole. The butternut squash soup was delicious, but a little too salty. The chicken tacos were spicier than I’d like, and the white rice with black beans lacked flavor, although I did enjoy the sliced avocado slices on top. Overall, I felt that for the price, I would’ve enjoyed my meal better elsewhere. But give it a try, you might like it more than I did. 🤷♀️
This place apparently doesn't want to be open. I've tried to come in several times 45 minutes or so before their supposed closing time and their doors were locked. I was eating in today, got there at 1:50ish, they were supposed to close at 2:30. I noticed before 2 pm, all the food was packed up. Without warning, at 2:10, with 10 or so people there, they just shut off all the lights on everyone eating and half the staff were already out the door. It was so dark, I couldn't even see what was still left on my plate. I've never experienced anything remotely close to this anywhere before. Their hours show they're only open 3 hours a day a few days a week and they close early every day and shut the lights off on customers. Why not just shut your business down if you don't want to be open?
Been coming here for literally 15 years and I love it! Everything is delicious. This time ordered veggie shrimp quesadillas. Yum.

However, I have to express my disappointment with our waiter. Throughout the entire meal, they only checked on us four times. The first time was to give us water, the second time to take our order, the third time to refill our salsa, and the fourth time to give us our check. As someone who has experience as a waitress and has run a restaurant before, I understand the importance of providing attentive service to customers.
What bothered me even more was the fact that your restaurant has a policy of automatically adding a 20% gratuity. While I appreciate the intention behind it, I believe that such a policy should come with a higher level of service. Unfortunately, this was not the case during my visit.

Fish taco: the fish itself was grilled well, but there was only one piece. Not enough veggies, too much sauce.
Chicken taco: too much sauce, the flavor is okay. Not enough veggie.
Overall, needs more lettuce and less sauce. Also what you get for what you pay is not much. For $5.50 a taco I expected better. Guac was $11 and we got a tiny bowl.

Small little taco shop. You have to order first. I bought the birria taco and elote. The elote was ok... I honestly have had better elote at the shore.. the birria tacos were underwhelming plus the cost 15$ for 3 little tacos.. I've had better birria for less. I just wasn't impressed.. it was good but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.. I just thought authentic met great but I guess not.. if I try again it'll be because I'm in the area.
Very good bowl, nicely put together. Knocked down to 4 stars because, while the food was good, it was not great and I was a little unimpressed.
The carnitas tacos are AMAZING. Honestly this place gives chipotle a run for their money! Everything tastes fresh and very well seasoned.
Mission Taqueria in Philly is a must-visit! Its location is superb, though be wary of the many stairs if you're enjoying their drinks. The shining star is the service: unmatchable and truly delightful. Their varied salsa options are also a delectable treat. Highly recommended!
Over $18 for a chicken bowl, chips, and guacamole is really rich for the amount that’s given. During the lunch rush they definitely tend to throw everything in really quickly and not care that you’re getting a decent amount of food for the cost. Probably won’t stop here for lunch again. The staff is friendly enough but I just can’t justify the price for lunch. Also they REALLY need to dust/degrease their overhead lighting.

Super fast and lots of great tasting food at a really good price! The quesadilla was bigger than i expected (in a good way), the al pastor was a perfect combination of savory and sweet, and the guac was incredibly fresh. The people working there were also super nice :)
Tara the manager was an absolute smoke show and so kind to us. We enjoyed playing shuffleboard, drinking margaritas. The drinks and food at this location are Fire. Menu selection is diverse and the food is worth the price and wait. Such a cool vibe. Cannot wait to return.
This is a fantastic place. The classic Margarita was excellent. We started with chips and queso. The queso is good but plain - next time will get the spicy version with chorizo. Our quesadilla, enchiladas verdes and tostadas were all super delicious and packed with flavors. The best verdes I’ve had in a very long time. Can’t wait to go back again.
Food and cocktails were fantastic. It's not a stuffy or conplicated menu but everything is executed well. Portions are also very generous and I recommendthe sopes or tostadas. We enjoyed the mezcal mule and seasonal cider amaretto margaritas and they were both lovely especially considering I'm not a mezcal person. Bartender delivered.
We came here for electic vibes and really good tacos. This is popular happy hour spot so it does tend to get busy. The vibes are great. The service is great. We ordered cocktails, guac and chips, tostada embarazada, quesabirria quesadillas to start off. Everything was good, especially the quesadillas. I loved dipping that on the consomme. Then we got 3 tacos (nuevo chicken, carnitas, and carne asada). All of them were bomb! All in all, this place gets high marks from me. Highly recommed if you want good vibes, cocktails, and some tacos.
Had a great weekday happy hour dinner here. Portions were on the smaller side, but the prices were great, so easily compensated with ordering one extra order. Small dish of the day was a chorizo quasadilla which was fantastic. I've had better tacos, but I can't complain with theirs either! The atmosphere was great, and the staff were very friendly and easy to talk to. For example, when walking out the restaurant, the front lady was on the phone, and she took the care to say "hold on one second" on the phone just to tell us thanks for coming in and to have a good evening. Generally a good experience, and would recommend. Wouldn't hesitate to come back another time!
A must go to restaurant when you’re in Philly!! The atmosphere is so lively and fun and the service is great! The food and drinks are amazing, and I highly recommend any of the guacs & the frozen blood orange margarita! The frozen blood margarita is amazing and one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. Finally, I would definitely make a reservation as it is a popular place. Cheers!

I’ve only ever been here for lunch but it is such a great spot! So cute and the staff are always super friendly. Menu is pretty limited (the takeout menu is larger and you can order food from it when dining in) but all of the options are great and delicious!! Would be a great spot to go out to with friends
We regularly order from here, and every single time the food has been great. However, the most recent time we ordered, the order was a complete disaster. First, it took an hour to get the food, which is unusual for this place. We ordered 2 quesadillas, and the chicken one was almost completely empty (see picture). Their chips that usually taste homemade tasted straight out of a bag. They sent all the wrong salsas that we didn’t order as well. We didn’t mind that they raised their prices recently but after seeing the quality of the food go down we were dissatisfied.
Fresh tortillas, amazing queso and amazing customer service. Breakfast tacos were yummy. Will return.
CASH ONLY! it's a nice restaurant with some good food. I ordered chicken tacos, a platter, a chicken burrito. The tacos were just okay because they don't have any sauce in it, felt dry. The platter was good it came with chicken, shrimp, beans, and rice. Everything on the platter tasted real good. The burrito was my favorite because it came with alot of chicken and was tasty. Anything extra you want like lime or sauce is extra money. I asked for some extra lime and they said 1 dollar per slice. Idk why they charge for sauce and lime. The atmosphere was well put together. Overall a cheap place with decent food. Would recommend to try but ofc there's better places close by.
We were looking for a place with good frozen margaritas and came across this restaurant. We had the pitcher of frozen margaritas and the chorizo nachos. The margaritas were ok. A little strong for my liking but they were enjoyable. The nachos, on the other hand, were not. They were simultaneously burned and cold at the same time. Not sure how that happens. The service was great and we were only sitting for about 10 minutes before everything came to the table. I'd come back for the margaritas but not for the food.
Food is great: just two issues. Number one we specifically asked for no. No sauce on the fish tacos for our four year old. Order had sauce which she found too spicy. Number two. Chips tasted stale. We had food earlier in the week from this location and the chips were much better…

After having this place on my personal "Restaurants to Try" list, finally tried them out a couple of months ago and have ordered takeout a few times now. It doesn't disappoint!
The food is so flavorful, tasty, clearly made with fresh ingredients and filling. The drinks we had were mixed perfectly. Between eating there and what we've had for pickup orders, everything has been great! Fish tacos, birria tacos, sopes, fajitas, flautas... It's all good!
We will definitely continue to go/order from here and I highly recommend anyone check them out!

I've been a couple times. When you go in person all seems to be ok.

Both times food was severely lacking.
Burrito bowl was only half full as opposed to going in person.

You seriously can never go wrong with El Vez, one of the best Mexican restaurants ANYWHERE. Service is on point, food is delicious and the drinks are always spot on. I got the steak tacos and they were cooked perfectly.
Absolutely go here. I truly cant say enough good things about this place. It's been on my list of places to try FOREVER and tonight I was hungry and walked by. I was blown away. The food, prices, and especially service were overwhelmingly amazing. I sat at the bar and Danny couldn't have been nicer. I was a bartender for years, and if I was a business owner, I'd feel incredibly lucky to have him as a part of my team. 10/10 would recommend coming here, and this is def one of my new go to spots, for sure.
If your in downtown center city near Rittenhouse square, or near Independence Hall and want to grab tacos in a decently sized place - here’s your place!

Delicious low-key taco place. Got the fish tacos and also a watermelon lemonade, which was way to sweet in my opinion. Sauces and salsas really good here!
If you have some time to sit down for a good dinner with a fun vibe, this is the place! From the moment you walk in, the environment is high energy, the music is fun, and the staff are just as energetic.

Had an great experience at El Vez! The colorful and flashy setting added a fun vibe to our evening. The drinks were top-notch, and the food was simply delicious. From the first sip to the last bite, everything was a delight. I'll definitely be returning for more upscale Mexican eats and cocktails! Highly recommended!
Great atmosphere with lots of fun options. We came for dinner and tried a little of everything. The drinks were delicious. I had a mango passion, fruit margarita..delicious! We left stuffed and happy. Parking is available at the corner or on the street.

Amazing guac. Great nacho structure, very well distributed toppings. Got the steak fajita and it was a bit too much onions and cheese but was still good. The tuna ceviche was decent. I really like the art on the walls
Excellent tacos, extremely fast (and friendly) service, very tasty Street corn and, of course, great margaritas! Cannot wait to return to El Rey and try more of their menu! highly recommend trying this place; we sat at the bar, but it was comfy and not too crowded. Getting a table can be difficult here without a reservation but it's all good, no matter how you eat here so long as you do ☺
Delicious! The food came out so fast!I had the Tuna Ceviche Tostada and Chicken Pastor Burrito. Truly flavor in every bite. The service was very attentive. Recommend having seating reservations, otherwise there is a 1.5-2 hour wait or bar seating.
We ordered Al Pastor, Chicken Tinga and Shrimp Tacos. The food was good but the not the best in town as far as I can tell. Specifically, the chicken tinga tacos were on a whole another level. Tender, juicy shredded chicken simmered in a smoky chipotle sauce that made my taste buds salsa dance. The flavor combo was off the charts, blending spicy, savory, and a hint of tanginess that left me weak in the knees.

This place gets one of my rare five-star reviews. I loved everything about this place. The server we had was fantastic. The atmosphere of the restaurant was super hip and fun with lots of artistic touches. Their menu was quite decent size with a great selection of options. My whole group loved our food. I would definitely return if I lived in the area!
First time visiting and ordered the carnitas quesadillas. Carnitas were very flavorful and tender! Portion size was great based on the price point. The only downside I'd say was that the plate was covered with oil, therefore made the tortillas less crispy. Had to use napkins to get rid of those sparkly oil. Otherwise, service and atmosphere were great!

Can’t say enough great things about this place and Pete (owner). Ordered catering for 12-15 people and Pete went above and beyond. He timely delivered the order himself (refusing to accept a delivery fee), threw in an order of steak, and delivered everything in trays instead of the small containers the taco kits come in, which made serving easier.
I already enjoyed the food here—ingredients are fresh, never canned, and perfectly seasoned—but the catering experience made me appreciate this place even more. Thank you again, Pete!!

I think this is the sister restaurant to El Vez. It’s a very good Mexican spot to dine in if you’re in the Rittenhouse/Art Museum area. We enjoyed the cocktails, the guacamole here was superb, the ceviche was on point, the fajitas sizzled, and the enchiladas delivered. I do want to add that the waitress we had was super friendly and helpful. All in all, this is a legit and cozy spot to enjoy some fulfilling Mexican grub.
Great little hidden gem of a store. Ever since my favorite taco place closed, I've been looking for an alternative and I think I've found it. It may not be fancy nor top quality, but the taste, cost and quantity is amazing for what it is. Whatever the board says it costs, it costs that amount regardless of what kind of protein nor toppings. The amount given is also amazing, where else can you get 3 tocos for less than 10$? A large plate of nachos with whatever meat you want and loaded with topping for 11$ nowadays? Best of all, everything is very fresh. Great little place for a quick bite to eat for a simple meal of tacos, nachos and the like.

Food was amazing. We ordered tacos al pastor, grilled chicken burrito, and chips and queso and they all were delicious and high quality. One person in our party had a gluten allergy and the staff was very accommodating! Great atmosphere but no bathroom. Will definitely be back soon!

Tacos are just one per order so make sure you order a few. Short rib is the best in my opinion. They also have margaritas. Take note of the specials depending on the day, could be half off margaritas or $2 chicken tacos or something else...

I didn’t order anything because I had a big breakfast at home. But with 3 big quesadillas, even my hungry daughter said she was not able to finish them all. So I was offered to share a piece. Oh, the shell was crispy but the inside ingredients were so juicy, fresh and delicious! My daughter said: “I am glad all other restaurants are not open. Otherwise we would have missed this delicious meal!” And I couldn’t agree more!
And I loved the bright and neat settings of the restaurant.
We will definitely go back more often in the future.

SUCH A GREAT PLACE! reasonable prices, AMAZING fried shrimp tacos and the folks working here are so kind and sweet 🥰 some of the kindest staff I have met. 110% recommend ppl to come visit 💛 Sharon was the kindest member of the Onda team and truly so wonderful. She made my experience there a million times amazing. She embraced us with so much kindness and even offered shrimp tacos on the house ❤️❤️❤️
Skip the chips and go straight for the main course. The most disappointing part of my meal was the guacamole and chips. The guacamole felt like something out of a bag and so did the chips. I was worried about how good this mean would be. But then I got my tacos and I will say the tacos were amazing. The drinks are good not sure if I would go there just for them but the combination of tacos and drinks is outstanding. The service is slow, but I would say that might be due to how busy the place is.
Great service from all the employees. Fast service and they answered all the questions my group had with alot of patient 🙂. I had the loaded nachos and tacos. Both were good and I would definitely recommend. Very affordable pricing and they have a pretty good amount of seats available if you wanna sit and eat. Chipotle vibes all the way.
Buena Onda has a cool, sunny, vibe with comfortable seating inside and outside. The food is good: basic tacos, quesadillas, margaritas, and not too expensive. Fish taco was “great” and the quesadillas was small but fine. It’s not table service so you have to go to the counter to order so it’s pretty casual. There’s outdoor seating in addition to the indoor seating. The strawberry margarita was not very flavorful but it was strong!
How do you mess up a clear order? I asked for black beans , pepper sour cream and pico de gallo…. I pick up and get office and open it up and shocked by the contents. I call them back to see what happened and they tell me it dont come with anything but meat and lettuce and cheese. I asked then why does online give u these options? He said “you want your refund or not?” Last time going here. And the sad part is they did my order fine the week before and week before that….Wtf…. Smh only gave em 2 stars because of they homemade guacamole and chips.
If you are looking for a traditional no frills taqueria venture into Northern Liberties/Olde Kensington to check out this place. The menu offers many a taste for the adventurous but we kept it fairly straightforward with an al pastor and a choriqueso.The tortillas are a bit standard issue however, the fillings are solid. Tasty flavorful, tender pork. Chorizo not too spicy and not dry and crumbly, maybe a little greasy but that is to be expected. Simple toppings, nice melty cheese, fresh cilanto and onion but nothing that stands our but just adds to a nice overall balance. A little more pineapple and a tortilla with some chew and more flavor and it would be 5 stars.
Nice clean spot. Food is really good and fresh. It felt like I was eating straight from someone's kitchen. The serving size was healthy. Friendly staff. It gets very crowded during lunch hours on the weekdays. Limited off street metered parking available. Cash, credit and "level-up" are accepted as forms of payments. You select what goes in your bowl or burrito. Price is fairly reasonable for that district. If you're in the area, check them out. Bon appétit!
A great little Mexican, BYOB. I've been a regular customer ever since they first opened. Over the past 10 years their shrimp tostadas and sopes have been on point. Really everything on the menu is great.
