My first time here. I was suggested the chicken soup and it was really good! The rest of the food seems pretty authentic from what I saw. The tortillas are not homemade.

This adorable quaint spot in Oak Cliff is my go to spot. Service is prompt and friendly. This time I had the “Sopa de Mar” it was delicious; they weren’t skimpy with the seafood. Everything in the menu is yummy!

I live in the neighborhood and have passed El Catrin many times. I finally decided to try it and am really glad I did. The service was really friendly and the restaurant was clean. I got the cheese enchilada platter with salsa verde. It was delicious. And the homemade chips and salsa are fantastic. I would go back for the bean dip alone.
I had menudo, it was bland , colorless and somewhat cold. My sister had tacos and they were cold.

A hidden gem wasn't expecting the flavors I encountered today. It really is a down to earth taste of Mexican plates. The Aguas frescas to the Mexican sodas everything was delicious. If Dallas was my hometown this would definitely be one of my favorites.

This is a bowl and it was absolutely delicious! It has rice, pinto beans, lettuce, pico, cheese, your choice of protein topped with sour cream and chipotle crema. I order this often and it's never failed me! This place is a gem in Bishop Arts District. If you're ever in the area, please stop by... you won't be disappointed!

It was no busy for a rainy Saturday night. I was seated immediately. I was happy to know they have vegan options. I ordered the veggie tacos with side of white rice and corn! The beans are not vegan since they are cooked with lard. The margaritas are great. I love the service and food. I will definitely recommend this place.

Let's say Tejas is in my Top 5 list of Mexican restaurants! OMG! I absolutely loved everything about this restaurant! The ambiance, the wait staff, and most importantly, the FOOD and DRINKS! The salsa and chips are delicious! We couldn't get enough of them, but I pulled back because this is how you get full! I ordered the ceviche, Tejas, and Carnitas Taco. The prickly pear margarita was yummy! My friend had the 2-plate tacos (brisket) and the Paloma and Mango margaritas. I've already added it to my date night list, as the whole area is a vibe, especially the Tipsy Elf setup for Christmas! My bestie and I will be back to experience that before Christmas!

Came here for lunch with my wife during the week and we both enjoyed our lunch. The atmosphere definitely makes me think this spot would be great for girls night with all the decor and music playing. They bring you free chips and salsa which we loved! The salsa isn’t spicy but it is tasty! We ordered the carne asada fries which we enjoyed! I loved that they used curly fries instead of regular fries and their cheese sauce which I’m assuming maybe they’re queso? Is delicious! Then for our main entrees I had the green pozole that has shredded chicken and comes served with topping such as fried tortilla strips. I enjoyed my green pozole and the soup def hit the spot during this cold weather! My wife had the brisket enchiladas which were great. The corn tortillas they use for the chips and enchiladas taste home made and high quality. The only thing that we considered bland were the sides such as rice and beans. Oh ya my wife also ordered a Paloma which she said was delicious. Overall, service was good, food was good, this place is solid for TexMex.

Cute corner location with both indoor and outdoor seating options. Warm and cozy atmosphere. Tending and hospitable service. Really good made to order food.
This place is a hit or miss depends who’s working the register and the kitchen. Wednesday night is the worst. The only young girl at the register is slow and rude. The kitchen puts everything in the microwave (which I wouldn’t mind but everything was dried out ) . I’ve been coming here more than 10+ years . Sad to see this place downgrade.

Visiting here from Canada, I wanted to tick breakfast tacos off the check list.
I ordered the Migas Royale Plate, everything was delicious great little place to have a bite and didn’t hurt the bank account too much either

The food was amazing as always, the caldo de res is delicious and the tacos de chicharron with the green sauce are chefs kiss. Very authentic food made by highly skilled Mexican chefs.
I adore this place! Really authentic Mexican style food which is super flavourful! Lots of veggie or vegan options too

They were also very accommodating with us asking for things that were slightly off the menu, like veggie quesadillas (which btw, phenomenal)

Their chips and salsa for the table was phenomenal too! I think the best salsa I’ve had in the DFW area haha

I tried this place because it was highly recommended. The service and atmosphere are both great, no complaints there! The food was kinda bland. I ordered the Birria Plate and the beef had very little to no flavor. The rice and beans were the highlight for me. I will say the presentation and the way it smelled were amazing. It’s Just ok.

The music being played had me wanting to dance 💃🏻 and let me tell you these are not the mini tacos some Taquerias have now a days. These are your regular good original size yellow corn tortillas, which are my favorite. Chicharrón, Barbacoa, carnitas, rice, beans, and arroz con Leche are 🤌🏻 delicious! My first time here, I will be returning, and thank you for playing good music.
The servers are rude and dum they get confused easily I hate it when they bring your drinks and put them at the end of the table and expect you to get up and get your drinks and pass them around they cannot take an order correctly we ordered beef fajitas to go they gave us a pariada I arrived home and saw it had shrimp and chicken I called them to tell them they messed the order up and my husband was allergic to shrimp and they did not give us our tortillas and they could care less they said oh well if you want come get your tortillas tomorrow we're closing in 10 minutes wow never again. Meseras no saben Tomar una orden son bien rudas cuando te sierven tu drink lo ponen al final de la Mesa para que tu te levantes y lo siervas. Y quieren tip and they want a tip!

We’ve made a long drive to dine at Tulum on many occasions over the last year or so. The food is innovative, the atmosphere fun, a real hidden gem.

Among us, we’ve tried a majority of items on the menu. But the standout was an unusual offering, mushroom enchiladas. Absolutely divine, a vegetarian offering that easily competed with all the carnivore options available. They were my first choice the last two times we had been to the restaurant.

Because of that, I selected Tulum as the location for a small group last night, one of the group I know to be a vegetarian. I was excited to bring her to a restaurant where I knew she would be able to make a selection that wasn’t an “also ran“ with the rest of the items on the menu. You can imagine my disappointment when I opened the menu to see that they were no longer offered.

I asked my server about it, and he stated that “corporate came in and decided to remove some of the items that weren’t selling”. He said they could still do a vegetarian dish, for instance, they could “take the shrimp relleno and just remove the shrimp and substitute some vegetables”. Yawn.

I understand that in a restaurant like Tulum, a vegetarian dish is not likely to compete in numbers with all of the other items on the list. However, I cannot imagine that there would be a large overhead in having that one item available, regardless of how few plates are ordered every night.

I’ll probably go back, but the trip will be a little less special for me than it has been in the past.

Steven, our server and also the manager, was the kindest and most attentive throughout our dinner! He was knowledgeable about the wine options and had wonderful food suggestions. The highlight dishes and drink was the strawberry/watermelon wine (frozen), the DDT taco, spicy tamale bites, chicken rings, and the chorizoqueso taco. The patio was lovely (especially since the weather was perfect). They really provide excellent quality food and relaxing vibes! Can’t wait to go back!

I have started a mission to find the best places to each in the Bishop Arts area. I”m always on the hunt for great Mexican food and wanted to try this place.

I arrived before lunchtime and there was plenty parking out front. There are tables on the inside and out. I was warmly greeted and ordered two chicken tacos and one birria taco.

The food came out quickly. I left and found a place to eat lunch. The chicken tacos were really good but the red salsa was super spicy and AMAZING! The birria taco was really good as well.

I will definitely be back to get the “for here” experience. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys authentic Mexican food.

The quesidillas are top notch. This restaurant is located in the Bishop Arts area. The restaurant looks like a vintage home that was repurposed as a restaurant! Super popular (as least when we went). They offer a selection of tacos and wines (hence the name) and the food is delicious.

We also tried some of the most popular tacos and they were all well-flavored and tasty. I'd still stay the quesidillas are a must-try. This is definitely a restaurant I'd love to visit again in the future.

It was our first time and everything was absolutely amazing! Every dish was picture perfect full of flavor, not a single item was bad. David was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and his suggestions were perfect as we loved each item! The only critique I have is that it seemed a few tables were wonky and needed napkins placed under the legs (we requested one which already had one and a table near us also requested one). Highly recommend, we will be back as there are several items that look like they are worth trying!

A hidden gem! Stayed by the bishop arts loft and saw the options there w/ reviews and nothing seemed impressive. Drove 5 mins to here and everything was amazing!
The water even chips 2 salsas and beans.

The picture is enchiladas rojas w/ chicken.
They were very tasty

Got a michelada also and was incredible.

Check out this hidden gem you all.

We've gotten breakfast tacos here before, they were always good. This time we didn't get what we ordered. We love the choricheese with avocado breakfast tacos, but we got ones with just chorizo and cheese. Not what we paid for. We'll go back, but now we'll have to unwrap everything and check it. No fun.
It was my first and last time at this restaurant. I should have known better by the smell of walking inside. It’s literally a whole in the wall type restaurant. It’s old, smelly and dirty. The food was disgusting and poor quality.

The food here is made for people with expensive tastes. Its very expensive, this plate was 21 dollars with a drink. Yea 21 dollars! Its good and the flaver is great and the staff is awesome but these are 5 guys prices! If you win the lotto or win a legal settlement visit this place. Its worth it! My friends and I went for brunch and we were not impressed with the food at all. A lot of the dishes were dry or just lacking in flavor. We were expecting a lot more based on the prices and the reviews. The service was great, but I can’t recommend this place on that alone. I hope their dinner menu is better, but if you’re looking for brunch, I would pass on this spot. Their chips and salsa were great which gives me hope that their dinner menu might be better.

If I could give more stars I would. The food here is beyond amazing. The chicken quesadilla is huge. We could have split it but besides that the flavor... it was so authentic. The best we have had for a long time. I had the tacos barbacoa style so delicious and full of flavor. The salsa and chips were so tasty. The place has a great clean style decor. See pictures.
The owner Nick actually greeted us as we came to the door, then came to make sure that our food was okay and we were amazed by the cordialness and friendliness. Next time we're in Dallas this is our go-to tacos and more places. Thank you Nick for the best service and food!!

Had a sirloin and a bacon. While the tacos themselves are good. It's embarrassing how small it is for the price. All in all good. Just know that you don't get much. Sirloin taco maybe had 1.5 ounces of meat total. 6 ounces of egg. Tortilla is awesome.
Best place for Mexican food, fast service as well. Staff is always friendly , plus they have Mexican sweets of all kinds at the register 🍬
Service was great as usual. I ordered the cheese chili renoso. Been a customer for 15 years. Never had a bad meal. Makes OTB taste like TB. Try the Villa's platter.

Saturday afternoon lunch. Everything's made better with good food and great weather. We had both this Saturday. I had a shrimp soft shell taco with extra cilantro and a large salad My friend had three mesquite steak tacos. We sat on the outdoor porch and had a wonderful afternoon. I will go back the next time I'm in Dallas.
Food was great ! I haven't been in awhile since my Mom passed and this was 'our' spot but I wanted to share it with my son and brother and it was a great idea. We got Beef Fajitas, Tacos Al Carbon and chicken, beef and cheese enchiladas. ALOT of food and worth every penny, can't wait to go again

I love this place. They have the best Mexican shrimp cocktail I ever had . Big shrimp, but the what's even better is the tomato based sauce they use. It's a little sweet and so much flavor. My friend and I stumbled upon this place and she treated me to lunch for helping her pack two days on a row. Everything is authentic. Worth giving it a try. There is limited seating area but worth waiting for. Still number one in my book. The sweetest staff and owner .

My experience here from the food, music, vibe, staff, you name it, it worked and was great! Went here for brunch and it did not disappoint. The drinks were mixed well and the food was very flavorful and enough, although I wish the appetizer (tamale bites) were just 2 more because it was that good. I love being surrounded by wine and vinyl on a sunny day just relaxing. Would totally recommend this place for brunch although I imagine it can become busy so plan ahead especially if you’re bringing a party larger than 3/4.
First of all the food is always fresh and very delicious, and I always enjoy the staff’s energy. I come here especially for the homemade tortillas.

Such a cute little gem in Oak Cliff! The aesthetics of the place is so cool. I'm a Latina and walking into this restaurant just feels like home. The food is definitely homemade. The chips are authentic, served with black beans & 2 salsas (the green one is the best) and the chilaqiles I had reminded me of being in San Luis Potosi, MX. The coffee has a hint of cinnamon which is delish. And try one of their aquas, the limon one is going to be my go-to during this Texas summer. A new fav spot for me!
Been wanting to come here for a while and it did not disappoint. Loved the space immediately, just a fun vibe and perfectly fits the place. The wine list is awesome, we often go to the holly in Fort Worth for natural wines and this is the first time outside of going there that I’ve found a wine list I was really excited about-awesome selection with a little bit of everything, well priced and a lot of offerings by the glass. Love their 6 tacos and a bottle of wine deal-great idea. The tamale bites were maybe my favorite bite. They were crispy like fried, so not soft and steamed like a Tamal (so the name is a little misleading, more like crispy stuffed masa bites) but delicious nonetheless, would come again for those alone, I was tempted to get a second order. The jalapeño artichoke dip was also really good. The little bit of heat from the peppers was a nice balance to what’s normally a rich and dense appetizer.
The tacos were good. Not the best I’ve ever had but all tasty….they had a lot of fun options, menu was playful and I really liked that you could mix and match, not everywhere let’s you do that (for their 3 tacos for $12 selection). The choriqueso taco was our favorite, the tempura fried shrimp taco was our second favorite. None of the tacos were bad, but those were the favs of the day. The churro bites for dessert were also good! It was a bit chilly that day so we sat at the bar but the patio looked nice!
Definitely will be back

Came here for a dinner with a friend and it’s a nice spot with amazing aesthetics. Parking can be tricky as there are other businesses there but I was able to find a spot. The customer service was consistent throughout the evening. My guest and I were seated in their lounge area and again it was nicely decorated!

I ordered guacamole (avocado ixchel) and it’s definitely not your typical dish you would get a regular Mexican restaurant so be mindful of that if you order it. I also ordered chips and salsa (sikil pak) as it is not included with the meal. The chips were freshly made and salsa tasty.

For my meal, I ordered the grilled pork chop (yucatán pork “poc chuc”) and it was ok. The pork was a tad bit dry but adding the salsa for dipping made up for it. One thing I did enjoy were the black beans and coconut rice! For drinks, I ordered the Flower in the Desert and Wanna Be Tulum. Both were delicious and nicely mixed.

Overall, I had a good experience here and would good back to try out their happy hour

I never really wanted to go to Tacodeli before, but after I found out the other place I was going was closed I decided to try it out. I am glad I did! Upon walking in I was greated by their friendly staff. I looked up their menu before going in so ordering was simple. I ordered the Shrimposito, Delibelly, and El Picosito tacos with chips and queso. The chips and queso were ok. Nothing to write home about, but the tacos we fantastic. Each taco was full of flavor, spice, and was very filling. For all that food the total came out to around $17. Tacos, queso, and a fountain drink. I never cared to try Tacodeli, but I am glad something brought me in there today. I will be visiting again soon.

Out of the 3 fast casual taco places I would rank them as 1st Tacodeli, 2nd Torchys, and 3rd Velvet Taco.

Love this place! Great food, great drinks, and great vibes!
Everyone should try the jalapeño artichoke dip! It's super creamy with just the right amount of spice, and the homemade chips are yummy.
The tacos are amazing and you can't go wrong with any of the choices. The Double Decker (D.D.T.) and Blackened Baja are personal favorites.

First time going to Tacodeli and it was a nice experience. The place is very modern, chic, and quirky. The taco options are not your traditional street taco variety and the flavors are unexpected. They are also very big tacos (you can get stuffed with 2). The service was great! The employees were talkative and helpful with the menu and suggested their favorites. I ordered "The Heather" vegetarian taco on a wheat tortilla (was half raw) and it was OK. A bit less beans and a bit more lettuce would of made it perfect. It went well with their Doña hot salsa. I also ordered the "Pollo Fantástico" chicken taco on a corn tortilla. It was my least favorite. The corn tortilla was soggy and didn't taste good. It was actually bitter and wasn't hot or cooked enough through. The chicken just didn't have a Mexican taste to it. I took it out of the tortilla and ate it with some tortilla chips I had and it was pretty decent that way. I also had their corn in a cup (Esquites). The taste was different. Not bad, just different, but not crazy about it either. Overall it was a good experience. They have a very large menu to try from and it wasn't too bad to where I wouldn't come back to try something else. This taco chain is trying to discover new flavors to put into a taco so don't expect to find traditional flavors here. Everything I tasted was new. I didn't fall in love with anything I tried today. Maybe you'll get lucky when you try it out.

This place is awesome. A hidden gem in Oak Cliff. The food is fresh and EXTREMELY TASTY!! The Birria tacos are some of the best that I’ve ever had. The rice was so light and fluffy. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I could not believe how reasonably priced it was! There is even a store that sells Mexican candy and cool trinkets on the other side. Definitely check them out. You will be happy 😊.

This place is awesome! Hand made tortillas and fresh cooked plates just like mom would. The place is small and the service is a bit on the slow side but now a days everything is too. The food is totally worth it though.

First time at this restaurant on new year eve and we were a bit disappointed. First impression was that the furniture was very worn out, for the class of the restaurant and the premium price you pay for the food I had high expectations. The food was just ok nothing wow had to wait long for it to be done. Our friends were complaining about salty expensive stake. 20% tip was automatically added to our each bill off 4 .Was a disappointed experience. . We tried but never again.

I ordered the chorizo breakfast tacos and was very disappointed after one bite. The chorizo was very tough and had a bad "rubber" texture to it. I paid $11 for 3 tacos and a lemonade...ok cool no problem. I called and spoke with the owners and explained to her that the meat was very tough and I did not like them AT ALL!! I even told her that I didn't want my money back I just simply wanted 3 chicken tacos in exchange. I have had them before and knew I couldn't go wrong with those. She first told me she couldn't do that then asked me to call her back. I knew there was a language barrier so I asked a co-worker of mine to call back and translate for me. She told him the same thing. She said she would get in trouble with the owners (which was her). She went back and forth with him about "the owners will not allow it" for a while. With that said, I just took that loss and customer satisfaction was not given at the restaurant. If you want to be treated fairly and rightfully as a customer this is not your place my Guy!

Update: Thank you to Juan who reached out to me and was very kind and considerate about fixing the issue. When I went to pick up my order the cook even apologized several times.

I had the caldo de pollo. It was pretty good and loaded with veggies. I will definitely be back to try something else on the menu. The corn tortillas are huge and made fresh. You got chips with 3 different salsa's. The green salsa was to spicy, but overall good flavor. I also liked the decor and small mercado. The customer service was great.

Fri 04/14/2023-Hubby and I stopped by for a quick bite. The food was okay. There have been some changes. The service was good, but the portions could have been better in my opinion. We both ordered a tostada.

What a great service staff. They were all very attentive and nice. We were all big fans of the red salsa which was mild and the enchilada salsa was perfectly spicy. The food was really good though I will say the Tacos Al Pastor tasted more like adobo pork and one too many tortillas for the amount of meat in the plate. Other than that, the lemonade was fresh and tangy, not at all overly sweet. The red rice and black beans were tasty and the fried plantains were an added bonus to the plates. Overall, delicious and truly authentic Mexican food.
I’ve been coming here since I was little and I love it, the food is always so delicious, everything on their menu is good. My favorites are the chorizo flameado and pechuga verde, the employees are always nice and welcoming.
The carne asada plate was perfect and all 3 of us construction workers bought 3 plates....super yummy.....sweettea tasted great after a hard day sweating at work up and down stairs!!!!👊💪👍🤗😊
Campechanas are good & done right (trompo, fajita & cheese). The rest of the menu looks good as well!

The closest thing to tacos as good as these is right across our southern border, which there's a bus stop conveniently located next to this establishment in case you want to see for yourself!

The salsas, both green and red, are superb. I'm a picky eater, and will typically avoid the green, or red salsa of any given establishment if one tastes better than the other, well... you REALLY can't go wrong with either of the two salsas here.

The tacos are delicious, which I'd try to warm up the tortillas a bit more before serving, so that they're softer... but that's just a minor personal preference. All things considered, this place is great. Great service, great food, great price... you're missing out if you haven't gone here.
One of my favorite tacos places :) I travel 30 min to eat their asado de puerco plate ❤

Padrinos has the best TORTAS and TACOS in town! Been coming here for years just to eat the best homemade Mexican food! Staff is always friendly like your visiting a relative. Small place but Big taste!
Good food - Large portions... Salsa was cold and they serve almost everything with plastic ( plates, cups, etc...). Will go back, but order to go.
