Not sure why this place isn't more highly rated, but I accidentally discovered this place when looking for a Korean restaurant that has a great banchan lineup. Went in for BBQ - will try their regular menu next time - and was not disappointed. The banchan were really great, and refills came quickly. Service was excellent, the server made sure each meat dish was cooked to perfection and did not push me to finish the meat quickly so she can cook the next one - most other Korean BBQ places will put them on a dish and let them get cold before I can finish it, which sucks. The only thing I would say about this very clean restaurant is that it's a little small so if there are a lot of people you may need to wait. Highly recommend anyone in the area to try this place out.

One of my favorite Korean pub-style eateries in Ellicott City! The street food selections and bites make it easy to have a gathering with friends and family and eat and drink.

I highly recommend the fried chicken, cheese corn, and bossam there 😋 there’s also a great selection of rice balls and other dishes as well.

We went on a weekday evening so there was no wait for our party of 4 to be seated and served, and the waiter was very nice to our whole party! I’ve been back a free times already and would be happy to come back again with more friends!

Yum, Yum, Yum! Not a lot of Korean BBQ places nearby. But no need to worry... Honey Pig has come to the rescue! If you need a quick reminder of how good Korean food is, stop by. You won't regret it~!

This place is awful. When we finished eating, we gave our credit card to the waitress and paid the bill, plus a decent tip. When we started to leave, someone from the back rushed out and started yelling at us, saying that we did not pay the bill. We showed her our receipt, she still rushed us to the counter. Then she checked her computer for quite a while, and of course, the record shows we did pay the bill. I have never seen any restaurant treat their customers like this. I’ll never go to this place again.

First I want to say I like honey pig. It's been a while since I've ventured there, but my order today, the food taste was still good. My issue is with the price paid for the amount received. In the past, when paying $20+, the container would be full. My order today, paying almost $30 per meat, only 1/2 the container had meat with the other half blocked off for the little sauce container. I think that is really an imbalance. I feel I got a lunch special for a dinner price. This was delivery and I think I'll go with in dining, if I frequent there again vs take out/delivery.

I tried half-half chicken and other two dishes. They were so-so. But, It is a restaurant with an atmosphere that made me think of a Korean pub. One downside was no draft beer!
It's a bustling location, ideal for unwinding and enjoying time with friends. My bibimbap was delightful, contributing to an overall positive experience.

This place is so bizarre! Went in and had an ok experience. Yooke je jang was alright. Had the bossam which was very fresh but the sesame oil on top ruined it.

Thought it would be great to get some food Togo and ordered the monk fish stew. For 50 dollars you would think they would add actual pieces of fish but they only added beansprouts. And for those of you who don't know a 5 pound bag of beansprouts is 5.99.

Don't get take out. Maybe stick with bbq

Food is always good, service is a bit slow. Only gave 3 star review because I was told by the server that it was their policy that I couldn't take all of my left over food to go. Only the main dish. Korean food is served with assortment of side dishes and I wanted to take what I had left over home with my main course. I found the rule ridiculous. I should be able to take what I paid for home.

Honey Pig is a favorite in the area. While it's tempting for a lot of Americans to compare Korean barbecue to Hibachi, don't. The cooking isn't meant to be entertainment. Honey Pig has excellent bulgogi and kimchi. We often get spicy pork belly and it's incredible. Check them out!

Really fun Korean gastropub. This place gets packed on the weekends and there is usually a wait. Service here was so quick and I went twice in 1 weekend. You stop in and add your name to the list if its packed. Expect to be seated in 30-60 minutes depending on the day. On the weekends, you have to order food vs only drinking. Prices are pretty reasonable for the drinks. My friends and I ordered the chicken gizzards, Korean chicken wings, galbi ribs and and tuna rice balls. I would highly recommend ordering the the gizzards, galbi and rice balls. They were all delicious. Especially the gizzards. Fried and seasoned perfectly. The wings were ok and I don't know if I would make my way out here for them.

The location itself is right off the main road. When you enter seating can be really tight. There is K Pop blasting and servers running every where. Restaurant is clean and the servers are attentive. If you want a place that does not have very high noise level then Rainpia is not it. Also, when ordering be mindful of the spice level. Level 3 which is considered a hot already had me sweating. Overall, fun place to grab some drinks and get some snacks. They are open until 2 AM on the weekends.

Mom and Pop run this shop. Service is excellent, food is 10 out of 10. We ordered udon, fried dumplings and bibim bop in the hot stone bowl. We will probably frequent here at least twice a month.

My first time trying a Korean place in Maryland and I absolutely love it here. The waitress was so helpful and nice. There were about 9 or so side dishes that they had to offer (even if you didn't order the bbq). The short ribs were also flavorful and the Kimchi soup did not disappoint. Would definitely come back!

I am not happy about pork and intestine rice soup (daeji guk ban) to go potion nowadays. We have been ordering the soup to go on the regular basis but recently the portion size got way smaller than usual and it wouldn't fill me or any of my family member up anymore. Today, I ordered three soup to go and it looked like they splited one portion of soup into three. Each soup only had 3-4 pieces of meat and they looked like a kids meal. I could clearly see the portion got way smaller than before. I won't be coming back to this place anymore.

One of my favorite Korean Restaurant in the are. Their Barbecue selections are tasty and priced very fairly. The environment and place is friendly and clean. They also have food you can order in the kitchen if you don't want any barbecue.I keep coming back here and everytime I do, it never disappoints.

Ended up coming here because our first option was actually closed. Luckily this place didn't disappoint. Very nice homey feel with elevated booths. Corn cheese was simple but delicious. Bulgogi rice balls had a savory kick with crispy rice. Kimchi and egg fried rice had some spice that gave a little kick. Finally, the fried chicken was super crispy and had a balanced sweet and spicy sauce. Split all four dishes between the three of us and had plenty of leftovers.

If you had a Korean grandma cook simple Korean dishes and banchan, it is hard to think the food would be any better! We usually get a combo of grilled mackerel and soybean paste soup and another soup and we usually bring home enough leftovers for another meal for about $40. The servers are so concerned you enjoy yourself! What a find. A true family gem.

We came here for lunch on a Sunday. The place is a bit small and difficult to spot, located at the back of the building (at the bottom of the hill), at the corner next to a MMA gym, with the entrance located behind the only tree next to the building. There is free parking both in front and behind the building, though the back of the building is less busy since the front faces the rest of the shopping center. For those who park in the front, there are stairs on the side of the building (not the one next to the main road) that lead down to where the restaurant is. I'm not sure if there's an elevator.

The inside is very open and bright, with one short wall and some potential wooden hanging dividers. There are about 14 tables ranging from 2-6 people capacity. The aisles between tables are pretty big since they use carts to deliver food. There is a pretty obvious sign in front of the seating area that states that plastic bags ($0.10) and takeout containers ($0.05) are an extra charge. There are two bathrooms in the back, one male and one female.

The staff were friendly and polite but not very attentive. We mainly saw them when ordering and delivering food but that was it. They didn't refill the waters and people had to flag them down for the check when they came by delivering food for other people. They were not very proactive.

To start off the food, they give you 10 free small appetizer plates: beansprouts, broccoli & carrot, egg rolls, seaweed, kimchi, barley wheat jello, spicy pepper, soy onion & garlic, miso cabbage, and spicy cucumber. You can request free refills for these 10 plates.

We ordered a good variety of food. My favorite was definitely the La Short Ribs, very tender and easy to eat. I would say the best korean short ribs I've tried so far. The seafood pancake was good though a bit too wet, not crispy. The Jokbal was subpar and you could get better at Lotte Market, which says a lot. The Beef Bibimbap and the Chik Naengmeyon were both very good.

Overall, good food and minimal service. May or may not come again.

It’s been 9 years since I’ve been back. I’ve had only good memories so I longed to return. Today was terrible. I thought it was odd that the restaurant was almost empty during lunch hour. The waitresses (especially one particular ajumma) has RBF and had attitude from the start when she realized we weren’t Korean. She was annoyed all the time. The food wasn’t great. The side dishes were laughable. The kimchi was red. No flavor. It tasted like wet cabbage if you closed your eyes. Not spicy. No salt at all, no sourness. Absolutely the blandest kimchi I’ve ever had. Just tasted wet.
The side dishes were so disappointing. Then they had the audacity to charge romaine lettuce as a side dish for $3! Since when is lettuce not included? Da fack?!? Absolutely horror show. We tipped 15% and gtfo. The person dining with me wanted to tip 10% I had to step in even though they didn’t deserve more than 10%. Never once checked on our drinks, asked how the food was, or offfer napkins. Then I had to ask 3x for the bill. It’s not busy why did it take 15 mins to get the bill? Absolutely never ever again. Also container fee? On top of a bag fee? Jesu5 effin Christopher.
Panjeon was so damn thick and not fresh looking. The meats were ok. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Hang Ari has some of the best Korean comfort food in the area. Prices are reasonable and service is really quick. I stopped by on a busy Sunday evening. The place was packed and people were piling in. I love how they have the service button so you can push if you need assistance. My friend and I shared the seafood, beef Soondubus and the spicy pork stir fried Jeyook Bokkeum. Food quality was on point. The stir fried pork was not spicy at all. It came out on a hot sizzling skillet. The sauce was on point! Well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The Soondubus are a must order. My seafood one came with some large prawns and clams. You can customize your spice level as well.

Prices are fair here and I left full. Parking is really easy to find in the shopping center. They do not accept reservations at this time. I really enjoyed my experience here. Its wholesome Korean comfort food at reasonable prices. I even saw some people eating alone. Thats when you know the place is bomb. There is a wide variety of seafood and meat dishes to choose from. There is plenty of seating for small to large parties. The restaurant is a bit loud with people talking over each other. I'll definitely be back to try their galbi dishes.

Went here for a late night dinner. The atmosphere was great, the servers were knowledgeable and attentive, the food was great, and the beer was good!

We got the grilled pork hock, Korean style hot wings, kimchi pancake, and the cheese corn. No complaints about anything. The Korean hot wings were level 3 spicy and were so crispy and delicious! The pork hock was level 2 spicy and had so much flavor. I really enjoyed the sauce that came with the kimchi pancake.

Also, the fact that they're open until midnight on Sundays is awesome so we can get out for a late date night. Every where In the area closes at 9 or 10, but Rainpia being open late is awesome!

We will definitely be coming back

Food here seems authentic and is very good. Place can be a little hard to find since it is in the back of the strip mall, rather than the side facing the boulevard. Probably one of the best choices for Korean food in Ellicot City, as long as you are not looking for anything too fancy and just want to eat well.

They require a “minimum $10 tip” when you place your order at the counter. It doesn’t work like that.

If they have wait staff on payroll that they pay only $2/hour as they claim, I want to get table service & pay after I’m finished eating my meal.

I’d been coming here for years because I don’t like Uma Uma across the street, and because I want to support independent businesses (THE main reason why I kept coming here),

but asking for a “mandatory” tip or having a “business operations surcharge” is a great way to lose customers over $5-10. Hope my $5 tip on my $55 pre-tax order was worth it

Kim Bob Na Ra was so excellent to say the least. Their customer service was impeccable. After closing their indoor dining, we ate our takeout meal in the trunk of my friends car. These lovely owners came outside and brought us bottles of water and kept asking us how the food was (it was incredible). The squid and spicy anchovy Kimbap were filled to the brim and tasted divine. Couldn’t recommend them more.

Stopped by here for an earlier dinner around 4:30pm on a Saturday and were immediately seated. We got: 2 orders of the unmarinated galbi and bibim naengmyun. The meat was great quality and I felt like they gave us a good portion, though it is overall pretty pricey. The bibim naengmyun noodles were well done and I loved the ice pieces in the soup. This is a solid Korean restaurant that is actually frequented by Koreans. Worth a visit.

This spot was highly anticipated by me. I saw many items on the menu that had me hoping for quality meats like Park’s KBBQ in Los Angeles, but the meal fell short. Hannah was nice and the staff members were understanding and quick but the food was the issue for me.
Their bulgogi came as brisket with a bulgogi marinade as a dipping sauce. (I was so confused.) the meat was cooked well but it didn’t taste marinated at all. And when I asked why, they told me I had to dip it in the sauce. Which was too wrong for me.
The LA Galbi was done right and tasted wonderful and beautiful! As much as it redeemed my time there, the pricing is seriously steep. I guess… non-Asians would appreciate this more.
The rice cakes… were weird. The japchae was ok. And the steamed egg was there. But I’m not sure I really can recommend anything except for the steamed egg. It was just too different from what I’m used to. I came for an authentic taste and I left feeling cheated.

WooRi Jib is an amazing small Korean restaurant! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the host and seated, it was the first time I've been to a Korean Restaurant so I had a some questions picking out since everything was completely new to me but the waitress was very kind and gave me some recommendations on foods I should try! I ended up going with the Fried Dumplings as the Appetizer and the Pork Tonkatsu as the Main Dish as you can see in the photos attached in my review! To my surprise as well you get a large amount of side dishes that can be refilled at no cost upon request too which really stresses the value you get for your buck. Getting to the food I ordered the Fried Dumplings were really delicious and had really good flavor and the dipping sauce it came with really added to the flavor! I highly recommend trying it! Now the Pork Tonkatsu was also really good, the Pork was cooked beautifully, it was crispy on the outside since it is breaded, but the pork on the inside was really soft and delicious! And it wasn't dry like some other places I've gone to in the past that overcook the pork to the point where its too tender. The Pork Tonkatsu also comes with a Fried Egg Over Rice and Cabbage with a really good dressing on top which I forgot to ask about, it also comes with its own dipping sauce that I also recommend trying too!! Again I highly recommend trying out WooRi Jib if your around the Ellicott City/Baltimore Area! In addition the waiters were very attentful as it started to get busy around dinner time since it was Friday (6/30)and always checked in with me and the other tables if we needed anything! Overall I really enjoyed dining at this restaurant, the amazing service and I will definitely be coming back again!

Overall, good place for Korean food! They have a variety of dishes, depending your craving. My top favorites here are: Galbi (beef ribs), Donkatsu (deep fried pork cutlet) and Jeyook Bokkeum (spicy stir fried pork). The Budae Jeongol (ramen stew) and Dweji Bossam (cooked pork) are both alright—big portions though. And they have a good variety of banchans (complimentary sides).

I’ve been coming to this place for a while, and in general their main staples - Kim Bob (Korean rice rolls) - are okay. Once in a while I try their other Korean dishes that are good sometimes and below-average other times. Today, I had to upload this picture of omurice because this is beyond below-average. The inside rice is literally just oil-soaked “rice”, missing other ingredients.

Overall quite good and good value Korean restaurant: mostly authentic (healthier - less sugar?) food, courteous, attentive, and reasonably fast response, and a bit noisy (at its peak time) but clean ambience.

The main dishes were well balanced, likely contributed by having all the necessary flavors but with less sweetness, eliminating potentially lingering dominance of the sweetness. We had BBQ (rib and spicy pork) and their beef-octapus stew. The sides were plentiful but were not as well-balanced and tasty as the mains, including the kimchi.

Giving 5 stars overall, though it's not quite there because of the sides. Hopefully, those will improve in the near future.

This is my go to spot when I want some hot Korean soup. I usually get the clam noodle soup which has chewy noodles, the mushroom sundubu-jjigae, and seafood pancakes. The food is always piping hot and will stay hot throughout the whole meal which is always delightful. If you don't know Korean, you can just point at what you want on the menu. Don't expect much from the servers other than taking your order and refills, but I personally didn't find it necessary to get more service. The place is always busy with Korean families.

This place have been my favorite KBBQ in the area for years and even though the folks running the place have changed hands a couple times, they've kept up the quality as well as the friendly service. From the original owners who was featured on Andrew Zimmern's show to the current management, they've always been super attentive and nice. Their meat always come out looking super fresh and taste even better. If you do KBBQ, they usually come with a tofu soup and a steamed egg on the side that are complimentary and they go great with the rice. Their ban chan (small side dishes) have a better variety than most in the area and is one of my favorite part of the meal. If you order one of the set dinners, it also come with small square noodle wraps in addition to the lettuce. Just a great place overall and highly recommend!
I love Korean BBQ. The sliced pork belly was delicious. The spicy noodles, pasta and fish cakes was delicious. The drinks were amazing and the service was great. I will definitely be back for more!

A very friendly and welcoming restaurant. 8 different banchan dishes arrived that ranged from mild to spicy. Seafood pancake was delicious, came out hot and crispy. Ordered the beef rib in broth that was a little salty but otherwise cooked to where the meat fell off the bone and the broth had been simmering for quite a long time to meld all the flavors. Service was excellent. Orders arrived very quickly, water was replenished immediately, waitress chatted up our table, etc. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant.
My husband and I ate here last Sunday. Having never eaten Korean cuisine before we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My husband had the buggogi which he really loved. We liked the accoutrements for me the kimchi and oshinko. My husband liked the pickled jalapenos and pickled cabbage.

I had the bibimbap loved the fried egg on top. I requested no hot sauce and the hot stuff was placed on the table so I could use it or not. My husband did use it. Our meals came with a nice bowl of soup as well. Next time we'll try more goodies it was all so good.

I LOVE this place! Everything is so fresh and the meats are top quality. They have tables for Korean BBQ and regular tables, and while I will say that the BBQ experience here is fantastic, I highly recommend not skipping over the rest of the menu! The sundubu, bibimbap, gamjatang, kimchi pajeon, EVERYTHING we've had here is delicious! Service is very friendly and attentive, but be patient as they are understaffed, as so many other places are.

First time in this location. Not really a fan of korean food, but was surprised by how good they are. A friend described to me the items being served to us, tried each of them and was glad I came. Could be pricey though, service however was good. Our corner was perfect as the restaurant was well spread out so my clothing didn't smell of meat

A month ago, I found out about this place from my daughter. Didn't even know this place existed and I have lived in Howard county for over 20 years. As you can see, I am not much of a bar person. Now I have been to every restaurant around this place but never thought about it. A month ago, my wanted some chicken. So I ordered some food from our usual place and then on the way over there to pick it up, I stopped by and talked to the owner's son and put in an order for their boneless chicken to go. After picking up the usual food, I came back and picked up the boneless chicken from here.

I don't know if it was because it got cold and the shrinkage factor, the boneless chicken was pretty sad. I air fried it to heat it up but it didn't help. I thought about putting in a review of that experience but thought that it would be unfair to base it on just one dish under not ideal conditions. So I didn't. Well, this week, a group of friends wanted to come here for drinks and food and I readily agreed. Wanted to give it a proper chance.

As you can see from the photos, the place is not that large but with the long table in the middle, it can adapt to a lot of people in a group. This time the food was really really goof. Everyone loved all the chicken dishes. I would say the half and half chicken is probably the best dish they have. I could use a much spicier sauce personally but it suited everyone else just fine. The food came out in a timely manner and it was great. The one thing that I would say they can improve upon is that I didn't see any Korean beers on the menu. Just had Sapporo beer. No draft beers either. I know it's a Korean bar but it is still a bar and beer variety is a must. People want what they want when it comes to beer. I would note that the flavored Korean rice wine was definitely a huge hit with all the ladies.

The food here is good. I love coming in the winter to get hot and spicy soups. The service is pretty good and the food will come out fast. Your table's food will come out as it's made versus all at the same time. The side dishes here are pretty standard. Love the soft tofu soups and the pageon

When the winter cold seems frozen you to the bone, having a bowl of hot spicy seafood soup and a bowl of seafood noodle soup will warm up your soul!

Our orders was:
Spicy haemol soondubu
Soft tofu soup with seafood! We need bigger bowl for this soup, one portion is too good to be enough.
The soup is served boiling, crack the egg that come with it and in couple of seconds the egg will be cooked! You either eat the rice in the soup or the other way, both still delicious as long as you enjoy it! Be careful, it’s spicy too! Yuuum😋

Haemol kalguksu
Noodle soup with seafood mix and vegetables! This bowl of soup infused with shrimps, clams, mussels and crabs broth, homemade noodle and veggies! You can order a spicy version too, yuuum😋

Jukkumi Dolsot
Rice with vegetables and mini octopus in hot pot stone. This one very good but it is spicy, the mixing rice with everything is insanely delicious! Yuuum😋

We love their banchan, all are delicious, can’t get enough with these appetizers.
If you’re planning to dine-in, come earlier before dinner time, or later after dinner time, this place is a local’s favorite restaurant, and they’re always busy. Even though they’re busy, they never neglected any customers, all servers are super friendly and caring.

We love their food! It’s a 5 Stars!
We’ll try their bbq version next time!

Never been to a Korean bar/restaurant and this place is legit! The corn cheese is delicious, never thought those two things would go together. We tried the kimchi pancake and that was super filling and tasty. Tonkatsu was also really good. It was my first time trying soju as well and they have different flavors too, grape was my favorite. For dessert, the bingsoo hit the spot. It’s a bit pricey, but dishes are shareable so that makes it a fun experience.

The glory days of shin chon slowly fade away. Used to be the my go to Korean BBQ with great service. In the past couple years, they have taken the back seat to some other establishments. Service is extremely spotty and even rude at times. Food is ok but meat quality isn't what it used to be. Side dishes are still great compared to other local restaurants but I can have Korean BBQ at home at this rate.

A quiet little place - absolutely perfect for a quick lunch and a conversation. The food is fantastic, with menu selections offering authentic Korean dishes as well as select few, which draw influence from Chinese and Japanese cuisines. The prices range from a few dollars for appetizers to up to approximately twenty for entrees. The staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, able to offer descriptions and choices of the dishes best suited your wants, should you have any difficulty deciding. The restaurant is clean, with moderate lighting, and neat restrooms.
