We had KBBQ for two and it was a perfect amount of food (meat, seafood, apps, soup and desert). Everything was really tasty and flavorful. Maybe include a little less veggies to decorate meat/seafood (it was hard to separate them) and include a bit more meat/seafood.

Very friendly service. We felt very welcomed. Would definitely come back to try out other dishes.

OMG!!!  its foo fxxking good!

The restaurant has warm ambient lighting, tasteful traditional Korea decors and comfortable seats

They priced their dishes very well!  Korean barbecue rib combo with rice + choice of tofu soup only $28.99!

Service was great!  The staff work fast, attentive and friendly, the owner, i believe, came by three times, the second and third time he brought us extra food for the kids lol.

The food was very very satisfying!  my Korean bbq rib with spicy tofu soup, arrived scorching HOTTTTT lol!  the short ribs has some sweetness into them, the flavor was just right!  the meat retained its juicy texture and very tender!  the spicy seafood tofu soup arrived super-hot still boiling LOL the tofu was prefect!  and the rice was OMG!!  cooked perfection just right!

Honestly, when my food got here, its truly mouthwatering!
The warm, inviting atmosphere and the genuine kindness of the staff created a dining experience reminiscent of eating in my own home.

The food itself was exceptional. Everything tasted homemade, from the perfectly pickled radish to the flavorful side dishes that complemented the main course beautifully. Each dish was crafted with care, showcasing authentic flavors and ingredients that transported me to another place.

Beyond the food, the staff played a significant role in our positive experience. Their hospitality was second to none, making us feel not just welcomed but genuinely cared for throughout our meal.

If you're looking for a place that feels like home and serves up delicious, authentic fare, look no further than this gem. I can't wait to return and enjoy another memorable meal with friends and family alike.
This place was fantastic for K-BBQ. I went here recently with my partner for our first time trying K-BBQ and our experience was amazing. The service was excellent and the quality of the food was beyond expectations. We did not unfortunately make a reservation, so we did have a 45 minute wait, so I would recommend calling ahead if you plan on dining here. The prices also seem to range between 30-50 dollars depending on what you get during dinner, but the quality and portions absolutely match this well. We were both stuffed after our meals and very satisfied! They even brought us plenty of delicious sides and ice cream for dessert, all included in the price. We had ordered the marinated thin steak and some of the tenderloin. The staff had even come over to give us some tips on how to properly BBQ and eat everything together. Absolutely recommend.
I had oyster soondubu with regular spicy which was extremely tasty. Side dishes served with were also very Korean. Attentive service made my visit a worthwhile. I am wondering if there is a better soondubu place in Chicago than Chodang.

A pretty good kbbq place with a weird interior design lol. The bibimbap is my favorite also really like the fried egg shrimp appetizer. As of the bbq part, the beef tongue was pretty good, but I have had better Berkshire pork belly. They don’t have as many choices of side dishes as a lot of other Korean places but offer ice cream for desert. And the price is a bit higher compared to other kbbq places I have frequented. But I still will come back to try other dishes and bbq items.

This rating encompasses four categories: Atmosphere, Price, Service, and Taste.

Atmosphere (2.5/2.5): The restaurant boasts warm ambient lighting, ample natural light from large windows during the day, tasteful decor, comfortable seating, and well-kept furniture. The visuals of the food are truly mouthwatering.

Price (2.5/2.5): Their soon tofu stews, priced at $14.49, offer a choice of rice, spiciness level, and a variety of side dishes. Additionally, for aficionados of beef short ribs, $28.89 secures a combo including soon tofu stew, rice, spiciness level choice, assorted side dishes, and a generous portion of meat.

Service (2.5/2.5): The staff operates efficiently and courteously, with the owner personally attending to each table, ensuring all needs are met and soliciting feedback on the dining experience.

Taste (2.5/2.5): The flavors are exceptionally rich and satisfying, with the warmth of the food not only evident externally but lingering pleasantly after consumption.

Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend giving it a try!

We usually frequent another family-style Korean restaurant in Schaumburg - which we've loved over the years! Wanted to try something new for a change.

Ambience is very cozy - booths (instead of an open space) with traditional touches!
Food is DELICIOUS - let's get that out of the way!

Some observations:
* Salad/sides - tasty, free refills, 5 choices
* Bulgogi and pork dish - lots of veggies used as fillers. My kids are 'carnivores' and as such don't eat any veggies. They see meat and attack! The amount of meat we get in each plate is very less.
* They should have an option without veggies. We ended up buying 4 plates of bulgogi and 2 plates of pork - just for 3 adults and 2 young kids. One of them had miso soup and I had the bibimbap! Price is reasonable but with volume of less meat, it adds up.
* They don't have individual miso soup bowls for kids. It's a large bowl with greens already in it. My kids HATE greens.
* Wish there was a easy way to call the waiters/waitresses - no call button and with only 1 person speaking in English, you are at the mercy of that person crossing you or the other waiters passing the message! This also impacts how quickly they could bring things. For ex. we asked for the lettuce and miso paste at the beginning but got it towards the end!
* Dessert was a nice suprising touch and we all loved it!

Will definitely go back there...now that I know their menu and system better.
A great Korean spot in the area, decent food and excellent service, the waitress was super nice to our toddler, we tried some Korean soups but will definitely try barbecue next time
We had an excellent authentic Kbbq experience & we were pleasantly surprised by the hospitality as well as the food at this place. We are definitely coming back to this place when we visit Chicago.

My entree combo meal package, which included Korean barbecue and tofu soup, arrived scorching hot. The beef short ribs had a subtle sweetness and were flavorfully seasoned. It was cooked to perfection; the meat retained its juicy texture and was tender. The ribs go really well with the seafood tofu soup. The soup has a pleasant spice touch and is rich and savory. Silky tofu, clam, and headless shrimp made comprised the soup's ingredients. It's less, but because it was fantastic, it doesn't really worry me.
Great restaurant for soft tofu stew! I had the combo meal of seafood/beef tofu and beef. The stew was packed with flavor and was delicious while not being too spicy. You can also select between white rice and various (healthier) types of rice - I got the brown rice and it was excellent. The atmosphere is relaxing, and the service is really good. I recommend checking it out!
I first off have to say the extreme family like atmosphere, authentic feel, and kindness of the staff made me feel like I was eating in my own house. The food was excellent and their grill to cook the meats on worked without fail and was able to cook veggies outside of the direct heat of the fire, which provided for a more efficient cook. The side dishes were delicious especially the pickled radish. You can tell it’s all homemade. Overall our experience with the food and especially the staff were a home run 10/10 score for us.

Family friendly, Friendly staffs with average service, edamame was offered once seated, but sever never check on us once the foods arrived on our table . Our little one loves fried dumplings and Chodang ribs, ribs are flavorful and tender, beef tofu stew with Udon noodles with great flavor, great for this chilly weather. Hubby enjoys his seafood and beef tofu stew with Steamed rice on the side .

I usually don't rate 5 stars unless something really stood out. I did so today because I just had a humbling experience I'd like to share. It's about 2 o'clock and I walked in while the staff was having lunch. Fast forward... I watched as one of the kitchen workers was leaving. She and the other staff members seemed to have a bit of a language barier, yet she was greeted by everyone so genuinely that it made me want to work there. I also realize that I, too, was treated like they wanted me there, not only as a one and done customer. The food was not a 5, but still one of the best Korean food I've had.

Compliments to the owner and the managers that run this place! You sure know how to treat human beings.

Authentic, great service, amazing food at good prices! Highly recommend checking out this gem for your Korean fix! They have unique dishes I haven’t seen at other Korean restaurants.
