It’s funny that Bonchon is known for their fried chicken, and I absolutely love fried chicken, but I tried the tteobokki my first time eating there and I’m absolutely hooked. The spice level is perfect, there’s a subtle smoky-sweetness that works so well with the thick, tender rice cakes. I have gone several times fully intending on getting just some chicken because I’ve heard it’s very good, but then I wind up ordering the bokki because just thinking about it makes my mouth water.
This is a great, low key spot for a quick lunch, especially if you sit by the windows so you can watch Lake Street. It’s kind of no-frills, but that is just fine considering the quality of the food.
I promise I will eventually get the fried chicken, but for now I can confidently say this is quickly becoming a mainstay.

It's perfectly fine for a quick meal, but it's just ok. The food was ok but not great. The atmosphere was more fast food feeling than good. It's fairly inexpensive but not cheap. It's middle of the road all around— not bad not good.

This place just was not the move tonight for me to stop into. I decided to stop in here after a long shift of not being able to eat thinking I’d be served some good food for the price I paid. could I ever be more wrong? I’m not sure if my server tipped off the kitchen and told him to skimp me on all my meat. But my rice bowl had zero meat in it for the 15.45$ I paid. I usually stop in here for your chicken wings only which are decently priced but tonight’s service and food made me never wanna come back again that was disappointing. Humble word of advices. Please figure out your meat portion sizes in the rice bowls nobody wants to pay good money for a rice bowl and receive zero protein in it.

I had it delivered, and I have not personally visited the location. But the chicken was very, very delicious. The coleslaw was fantastic! I had the spicy sauce for the chicken. It had some decent heat but even more flavorful.

If you are a fan of Asian wings, I don’t know that there is any place that does them better. We became fans of this place a few years ago, and it has remained a family favorite. This low-key Korean restaurant has a simple menu, and everything is delicious. We’ve sampled both styles of wings. The garlic wings are something special, particularly when they are fresh out of the deep fryer. (I have also gotten them for takeout, and while they’re still excellent, it’s not quite the same as when they’re fresh.). The spicy wings are delicious but on the high side of my spicy comfort. We have also tried the bulgogi, the pork buns, the Korean tacos, and the french fries. Everything is very well done! If you can, a side order of seasoned fries comes in a small bucket, and it is a treat for the whole table.

The atmosphere is simple, but comfortable. Sadly, they tend to be understaffed, so service is generally slower than I think it should be. Still, I find the food to be worth the wait. Parking can be a bit of a challenge. There is some on street parking right in front, but it’s a very popular part of Dinkytown, so they fill up quick. There is an inexpensive paid lot around the corner that we’ve had better luck at.

If you’re looking for a sweet and spicy style of wing, definitely check this place out.

Some of the best Korean food I’ve had! We got soup as an appetizer, but honestly I would get it as my meal next time because it was so good!

I've been to this place a couple of times and each time the food is insanely good. The dolsot bibimbap and the rice cake soup are amazing. The staff are super friendly and there is almost no wait time. If I were to pick the best Korean restaurant around campus it would be this one.

Hands down the best Korean restaurant in the twin cities. I’ve been coming here for a long time and am finally just doing a google review. It’s long overdue but trust me, this place is SO good. If you’re ever craving Korean food, just come here! Food is always consistent and delicious.

I ordered the kimchi chigae and shrimp tempura, and it was delivered to my house via DoorDash. The food was prepared and delivered fairly quickly. The kimchi chigae was alright! I think most of the pepper flakes settled down at the bottom of the container, so when I poured out the last half of the soup, it was uncomfortably spicy, but overall, the taste wasn't bad. However, there was barely any tofu, fish cake, mushroom, and pork in my soup. It might as well have been a container of kimchi. The shrimp tempura was good, and some fried onion, zucchini, and mushroom were included as well. Those were okay. I received a box of pickled vegetables, bean sprouts, kimchi, and other veggies that I didn't order, but maybe that was for the shrimp tempura? I wasn't a big fan of how those tasted, but the restaurant gave me two portions of white rice, so that was nice at least. The prices are a bit steep considering the quantity and quality of the food, but maybe they have better things on the menu.

Service was poor. Server couldn’t answer questions. Restaurant was too hot. Not sure if there was no AC or if it was just set at a high temperature.
The bibimbap is described on the menu as a “hot rice bowl” but it wasn’t hot — apparently intentionally. We weren’t offered water. They had no glasses.
The dumplings were pretty good. The other food was only so-so.

Very mid. Food was okay, not super flavorful. Also found a hair in my food. Did not complain or bring it up, but it was gross.
Spoon given on my tray was dirty, so did have that replaced.
Very difficult to hear in there with loud music and people talking. Hard to hear order number being yelled. Screens would be great to show order number but they were broken.
They have bathroom, that was good.

I ordered the bull dak which is spicy chicken with stir-fried rice cakes, onions, and hot pepper sauce. It is topped with thinly sliced scallions, sesame seeds, and mozzarella cheese. The dish also has a side of white rice. It is around 2,600 calories and has a good spice level, so if you can tolerate a modicum of heat and are feeling rather famished that day I would order this comestible. My friend ordered the wing lunch special, which was solid for a price range of $11 bucks for the fact that it came paired with a mountain of French fries. The wings and the fries are a solid choice.
Food was good, portions for BBQ meats are on the larger size so one plate can feed 2 to 3 adults. They also come with extra dishes of food. I dont recommend bbq your chicken as it takes a long time to cook. Parking can be a problem but there is a parking ramp about 2 blocks away.

Hard not to like this place or the food!
Bonchon is probably one of my favorite restaurants, no lie!

They have one of the best chicken wings and many different Korean dishes, spicy or not they have amazing variety!

The restaurant itself plays K-Pop music which is... music to my ears! I love it and so might you, please give them a try!

Been a while since the last time we ate here; blame it on pandemic and street parking at the U. One thing I realized, the price has gone more than 50% since before the pandemic; hope some of the proceeds help the folks working at the place. As to the food, we had dolsot bibimbap, mul naeng myeo (cold sour noodle), kimbap. All are very good; we love this place.

This place is legit!! Soon doo boo jjee gae!! 순두부찌개!! In Minnesota?? You betcha!!! The set menu with Bibimbap or the set menu with Spicy Pork are very good value. This spot is a great asset to the U of M campus!! Five stars!!!
First time going today. The beef bulgogi plate was absolutely beautiful. The sides are provided with each plate, and the kimchi had the perfect amount of kick and flavor. Will definitely return soon. Thank you for the food!

It was alright. The food did not taste that good. It wasn't seasoned well, there was barely any flavor in it. They didn't have any sauces available. The service was not good, and they misled us into buying more meat by saying that the quantity was less, so we ended up ordering too much because of that. The chicken came out at the end, when we were almost done eating. Only the jumbo shrimp was good. I didn't really enjoy anything else as it was bland. Not worth paying 100$ for it. And soju was overpriced on the menu. The place looks fancy, but it wasn't that clean. Every surface you touch is sticky! The seats and the table were just sticky. I guess the music was good.

What a joke!! The chicken sliders, 3 sliders to an order for $15, this is literally a boneless chicken wing as the chicken patty 😂

Also they sell their donuts without the glaze, and when I bought the glaze, they didn’t even send enough for one donut…. And if you order one without glaze it’s literally like a cinnamon stick with no cinnamon, just a fluffy dry pasty. I didn’t give 1 star because the wings were good.

Been aware of Bonchon for a while now, first time visiting. This chicken knocked it right out of the park! Fantastic! Perfectly crispy boneless wings, the spice level was phenomenal. Need to try garlic soy in a half&half combination next time. My former roommate swore by this chicken and now I can see why. I don’t usually expand my realms like this and it was totally worth it. Will be seeing you guys again and thanks for being great neighbors!

K-Bop is probably my favorite korean restaurant i’ve tried yet! We got the jajangmyeon, kimchi chigae, and kimchi jeon and the prices are really good for the amount and quality of food you get. we also didn’t have to wait long to have our order taken and food prepared. we probably had to wait 5 minutes max! the ambience is also very nice and aesthetic. the only con is that there isn’t any free water but bottled drinks can be bought for $1.50

I always try to come here when I'm in town because of the friendly staff and delicious food. The atmosphere is always very warm and homey. The staff are so accommodating and genuinely kind. It feels like eating at my grandparent's home. The food is reasonably priced and delicious as well.

The karaoke rooms above the restaurant are also worth a try. Although the controls took a bit to learn, we had a great time! Definitely recommend Korea Restaurant.

BEWARE!! The BBQ itself was decent.. My partner and I brought my little brother here while he was with us for spring break as our last meal together. We waited forever for our raw meat, which seems odd when our apps came out quickly. The fried rice was not only completely devoid of any flavor but the veggies were raw and the rice didn’t have even a single fleck of char on it so we sent that back. After that, we were served those chili rice cakes instead of the bulgogi my partner was literally pointing to in their menu when she ordered it. When she asked for a sprite, she got a glass that had something floating around and stuck to the side of the glass.. Now I don’t know how much experience the layman has with dried loogies in cups, but I can say from experience and with almost absolute confidence that’s what this was.

Oh, and they’re charging over $20 for $6-8 bottles of soju/sake that you can find pretty much anywhere.

Hands down the best Korean restaurant in MN. The kimchi stews are amazing and definitely the highlight of their menu. It comes out boiling hot and with a raw egg for you to crack and cook inside. The broth is delicious and comes with rice and some toppings. However my absolute favorite is the ramen!!! The noodles were so fresh and the flavors were amazing. I wasn’t going to steer away from the famous boiling stew, but I’m so glad I tried the ramen.

I've been here on several occasions, the vibe is always welcoming, energetic and the building itself has a metalic modern style. Great place to impress a date or show off to friends, that is if you can grill.
It's not cheap, for a dinner for two an order of pork belly, steak tips, shrimp and veggies the total was $200 after tip. The meat was marinated well and was decent in quality. Just make sure you have some knowledge on cooking meat before you arrive.
Service was fine nothing to write home about. Finding a close parking spot could've been easier. I'll definitely be back here in the near future. Good place for a date!

Food was good

Not a large selection

Once you had it you had it

No need to really return

The restaurant has such a plastic cold feeling to it n I get that it is winter but it doesn't need to feel like I'm eating outside

We're sitting so close together that no matter what I say even if I whispered the next person is going to hear it

Bathroom was clean

Long wait despite having reservations. The food was great, but my only complaint is that they don't warn you when they're out of sauces for tempura or mandu. Those are items only enjoyable with dipping sauce and I wouldn't have ordered them had I known they were out of sauce. Tempura eaten dry is especially terrible. The japchae is the absolute bomb, so delicious.

.. ordered seafood soft tofu and bulgogi. Seafood soft tofu contains shrimp, clams, and oysters. Medium spicy is recommended. The place is narrow. As a result, you have no choice but to sit very close to people you don't know. Taste is acceptable!!

To be honest, I have waited for a while prior to deciding to write this review because I wanted to wait I had enough pictures. However, I could not wait anymore as the world needs to know this place, and their value does not depend on the way their food looks. First of all, it is definitely a "hole in the wall" place that you should just come, eat, and leave, as chances are others will be waiting for seating. This subsequently also means they have bomb food. Their kimchi tofu stews are probably some of the best I have had anywhere in the United States, including places in big cities like New York, Los Angeles, etc., so that says a lot. The boiling silken tofu soup, the meat / kimchi / others, and the raw egg to drop into the stew, everything was just authentically perfect to the maximum. I also love their bulgogi and bibimbap, which I have had in addition to their stew, despite the fact that I just love those two food items in general from anywhere almost. Even if I am not too much of an expert on Korean food, I have had plenty throughout childhood since I grew up around Koreans due to my hometown having a huge Korean population, so I don't think I am making an exaggerated statement here. Plus my friends who have been in Minnesota for school and such have literally said the same thing ever since they had left Minnesota for other big cities in the United States. I have not tried their ramen yet, but I have no doubt it is going to be great. Other than food itself, the place is extremely affordable, and at this age, to remain as such an economical establishment is definitely not easy, and I would love to support them in whatever way possible. Whenever my friends visit me, I ensure I bring them to Kimchi Tofu House for the food, as long as they are okay with Korean food. If you are reading this, please help support this business as well because it is truly a gem and deserves to remain such for students across campus and other citizens alike! Oh, and make sure you come earlier than later because there is not a lot of seating at all and this place can be super packed, especially on Saturdays.

Been coming here for years and it is always consistently good. Great family owned authentic Korean restaurant.

Food here is as authentic as it gets and the prices are very fair, even with inflation. Post COVID they changed it from a more cafeteria style restaurant into more of a true sit-down place. Owners are very nice and there is a wide selection of food available.

I would highly recommend you check it out. It is also highly approved and loved my my 17 month old!

I went for my birthday and it was very bad. I ordered cold noodles, and I waited for around 40 minutes after everyone else got their food. When I asked about it, did it came out a few minutes later. We also didn’t get our rice by the time we finished grilling our beef and eating it, So I told them we didn’t want the rice anymore and they left and proceeded to bring all of it anyways. They also brought the octopus at the very end as well when we’ve been there close to an hour and already done grilling. Overall, it was very disorganized, with food coming out at weird times and some of the food wasn’t good either. The tonkatsu was very dry and the Tteokbokki is more similar to honey taste then traditional. In the end, I wouldn’t recommend coming here with a party at all or if u want good service or food if they remember to bring it.

Excellent Korean spot in dinky town! Very spacious with small and long tables. Pleasant and friendly service. A must-visit location! Definitely coming back.

1. Jampong $16: Flavorful and exactly the right amount of spice and saltiness. Seafood (clams, shrimp, calamari rings, octopus tentacles, and baby scallops) were perfectly tender. A good amount of veggies but could use more ratio to noodle proportion. Very generous bowl!

2. Du Bu Dae Chigae $12: Rich and flavorful broth, perfectly cooked Ramen, and ingredients. Rice was cooked well. Bowl was worth it and it came out sizzling!

3. Fried Mandu (veg) $11: Crispy exterior with a moist interior. Tad bit soggy filling but good. Came in a quantity of 8 per order. The dumpling soy sauce was good but a bit salty. When eaten with the mandatory it paired well.

4 Kimbap $6.25: One roll to go. The daughters enjoyed it at home but said it was salty but ok.

Banchan sides:
A. Sweet pickled cucumbers: Crunchy & fresh but sweet. Sliced onions round out the bite.
B. Napa cabbage kimchi: Mild and tangy but very crisp and great.
C. Fish cake slices: Mildly sweet but savory and the texture is perfectly soft and not tough.

Korea Restaurant is a great hidden gem right in the middle of the U of MN campus. The food is very authentic and delicious. The service is very fast and the staff are extremely welcoming and courteous!

I had the Bibimbap and Mandu (fried dumplings) and it was perfect. Came out quickly so I was able to make it to puck drop at Mariucci with plenty of time.

My mother is Korean so I have have a lifetime's worth of experience with traditional Korean meals. Having visited many of the Korean restaurants in the Twin Cites area, Korea Restaurant ranks up there at the top of the list. Looking forward to my next visit!

Giving 3 stars

First, food was good but after take the next
3-4 bites it started to taste super salty.

Secondly, it was 100 degrees today.. where is the AC?

Thirdly, Parking is very small!! Like very small.

Recommend the bibimpap. and vegetarian dumplings. Customer service was also great. also love the little buzzer on the tables for a smoother customer service experience but Because of the first 3 bullets, I probably won’t be returning.

Thanks.
Let me start off by saying that I wish there were half star options. I save my 5 star ratings for food that blows my mind because it is so good. The food here is delicious! 4.5 stars would be my rating. The place is clean and the service is really good. Nice atmosphere. My husband has high standards with his Korean food and he absolutely loved it. Highly recommend the food and will be coming back for sure!

We've been coming to K-Bop Korean Bistro since it opened. Despite the last time we were here, our seafood pancake wasn't extra crispy like we requested, it was still delicious. We enjoy everything we've had over the years. The service is good and quick. Price per portion and quality is worth it. And I enjoy all the K-Pop music accompanying every bite.

Restuarant is on the smaller side, however it is very clean and welcoming. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The food came out fairly quickly and tasted delicious. The wings and fried rice are a MUST try. Prices were reasonable and quality of food was fresh. Would definitely recommend anyone to try this place, I for sure will definitely be going back (whenever I'm back in Minneapolis).

This place has some really delicious Korean fast food. I really loved the small menu and the taste of the food.

They have some nice lunch combos options to choose from. The ambiance is nice for casual dining with friends. This place has one of the best fries I ever had. The fries portion size is huge! so make sure you have a partner to share you fries.

The food is fresh and very delicious! The prices are slightly higher.

Overall a highly recommended and a must try place. The chicken is just the best!

We love this place. Recruited by a Korean friend I fell in love. I've shared it with others, and they fell in love, too. Wide menu, good prices, great flavor. Their fried chicken is delicious. But then, so is everything else too.

The menu is on TV screens so you can see pictures and ingredients. Very helpful for the Korean food newbie! But do *not* touch the screens! You'll see when you get there. And you must go! (Just don't touch the screens.). :-)

I used to really like the food here but haven't been here in a while. The most recent visit felt like a greasy gut bomb. I got bulgogi and japchae. The beef was rubbery and the japchae noodles way too greasy.
