Well it took a bit to warm up to the place. Mainly because it was cool in the places and if you wanted a bath instead of a shower. None of the 3 units we were in had plugs for the drains, seems petty but it was irritating. Also they lacked in blankets. We dealt with the issues at hand and we loved it here. They were rustic and quiet, the staff were very friendly and left you alone. Which made it even better, for after going through a devistating house fire and losing absolutely everything. We most definitely needed the seclusion to gather our thoughts and battle with the insurance company. We did not need any complication at our new homes.
For that, I thank the excellent and friendly staff.

This was a really pleasant stay. The location on Pelican Bay Marina is pretty and False Creek is very easily accessible. Even though the hotel is an older building, both the common areas and the rooms look great. I loved the plantation shutters. The rooms are cozy and the bed was comfortable. The restaurant is really spacious with a great view and staff. The only thing I would recommend to guests is to bring your own toiletries as not everything is supplied, but I carry my own anyway so that wasn't a problem.
I visit Vancouver a few times a year, and this trip, I decided to stay on Granville Island. What a great location. Access to the walkways around the city, the ferries to Yaletown, the Science Center and the sea wall. Love the shops and the market. While I have been to Granville Island many times, staying on the Island was great and the hotel was very nice.
The stay was good- rooms were clean, staff was friendly and helpful, and it's great to explore granville island, since work usually puts us up in yaletown. The only caution I would give for people is that it's sort of far to walk anywhere that's not on the island, since you have to go up and around. The water taxi is a good option, and there's always uber, but something to consider. Also breakfast at the restaurant is expensive- better to walk to the market.

What a treat! We were treated so well. The room was lovely, clean. Perfect location for getting around. Staff treated us royally and we were met with Birthday treats in our room and card. The couple that maintained our room was so helpful and friendly. The dockside offered up a fabulous meal! You can’t go wrong here.
My friend and I were seeing a show at the Granville Island Theatre and decided to stay the night at the hotel and make a whole evening out of it. We were so glad we did. I luv Granville Island but it gets super busy especially on weekends. We were able to park at the hotel, check in and out through the phone, super quick and efficient while other visitors to the island stuck in grid lock traffic trying to find. Parking. The staff and their service was professional, friendly and approachable. It was clean, updated and perfect location.
There is so much to do, see and eat at Granville Island, making it a great staycation and stay at the hotel!
This was our 2nd time to Granville Island Hotel. We loved it! Easy check in via text, friendly staff and service at Dockside Brewing. Gave us an early check in, and gave my dog free treats upon arrival! Easy walk to Granville Public Market. Cozy bed, comfortable room. Beautiful location by Ron Basford Park and the marina. Always a memorable experience. Can’t wait to return again.

This place is nothing like the website. I don’t know where the people who wrote the good reviews stayed but our rooms were so bad. Carpets so stained with ???? Bed sheets stained with blood. Lock on door says to lock at night for safety but it is painted shut and lock goes around in circles. Bathroom floor all sticky with ? Bathroom tile and grout not finished or if it was a mouse could come through the grout. Holes in walls. No more rooms available?? For real? Wish I could give it a negative. So bad
Room was clean and had beautiful views of the harbor. Great location within Granville Island. They do need to update the bathroom, still had old tub (easy to slip, small, rounded edges). Rooms have thin walls and large gaps in door to hallway, light coming through. Can hear everything in room from hallways and vice versa. Expensive,

I recently stayed at 2400 Motel in Vancouver, and it was a great experience. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was convenient. I highly recommend it!
Given that it is the only Hotel on Granville island it's no wonder they charge what they do for not the return on investment. Guessing the Restaurant attached is managed differently I could understand. But being a guest and paying the high cost. You would have thought there would be seating to look at the water. We bought the package with a bottle of wine but told we could sit and enjoy it. Very few want to sit in a small room with one chair and enjoy a bottle of wine. I would not recommend this Hotel to anybody. The sad part is. There are no other hotels to be had.
Old building but nicely renovated and decorated. Location is great - it's in a busy area which is good if you're looking to get drinks or find a nice restaurant, but can be a little rough and noisy at night. Staff was top notch.
Good location and fair pricing. Staff was helpful. However, the internet was poor, leading me to leave early. The third-floor office space could be improved, especially with better access to the conference room.

We stayed in Shangri-La Vancouver in June 2022. I gave them a very expensive shirt to wash and told them specifically that this is a silk shirt. They brought the shirt back wrapped the next day and as we were about to leave I didn’t check the shirt. We came home and when I opened the shirt I noticed it is all ruined. The shining of the material is gone and there is a dirty white gray hue on the black fabric. The buttons are chipped. From that moment the nightmare started and took a couple of months. First they denied any wrongdoing but when I sent them pictures they asked for the shirt itself. I sent them the shirt and they took it to the boutique that confirmed the damage. They initially offered less than 20% of the price back and when I refused they said they have found a way to fix the shirt. They just gave it another wash and sent it back in an unwearable condition. They also tried to blame it on the poor dry cleaner which probably had no idea what they were dealing with. Ultimately I stopped communicating with them as there was no point. All I know I would never ever go close to this hotel and it’s other locations for the rest of my life unless they take responsibility for what they have done which was confirmed by a third party.
A Disheartening Stay at a Noisy Hotel with Troubling Surroundings

My recent stay at the hotel left me deeply disappointed and frustrated due to a multitude of issues that greatly affected my overall experience. While the hotel showed potential in some aspects, the numerous problems I encountered, combined with troubling surroundings, made it impossible to overlook the shortcomings.

First and foremost, the persistent quacking noise that seemed to echo from the bathroom whenever it was used was a constant source of irritation. This noisy disruption not only affected my comfort but also that of my neighbor. My attempts to communicate this issue to the front desk were met with a defensive attitude rather than a genuine effort to address the problem. The lack of empathy and professionalism displayed by the front desk staff was truly disheartening and left me feeling undervalued as a guest.

In an attempt to find a resolution, I took my concerns to the sales manager, who was actively pursuing our company's business. However, the encounter with the sales manager only added to my dissatisfaction. It became apparent that her focus was primarily on securing the deal rather than understanding and rectifying the issues raised. What was even more puzzling was her seemingly intimate knowledge of the property despite never having physically visited it. This raised suspicions that remote management might be at play, further contributing to the sense of a poorly run establishment.

To compound matters, the surroundings of the hotel were equally concerning. The presence of homeless individuals living around the hotel premises and even in the parking area was unsettling and gave rise to safety concerns. This added a layer of discomfort to the already frustrating experience, leaving me feeling uneasy throughout my stay.

In summation, my stay at this hotel was marred by the consistent and disruptive quacking noise, coupled with an unresponsive and defensive front desk, and a sales manager more interested in sales targets than guest satisfaction. The lack of effective communication, professional management, and attention to guest needs detracted significantly from any potential positive aspects. The unsettling presence of homeless individuals in the vicinity of the hotel only exacerbated the discomfort and unease I felt during my stay. It is my hope that the hotel takes these serious concerns to heart and undertakes significant improvements to provide a more welcoming and comfortable experience for future guests.

The genuine hospitality is unparalleled to any hotel we have ever stayed in North America. I will definitely stay at your venue, and your people really truly deserve credit for the level and extent of hospitality they served. We stay at many hotels where we get the service we paid for, hospitality is different from service. It is doing a service with care. And they definitely did that . One of the best group of people I have experienced at a hotel, absolutely amazing.

This place is nothing like they show in the pictures. The bathroom is very tiny and whoever did the tiles, looks like he was drunk. Besides, there is not a microwave, refrigerator, or a coffeemaker. The carpet is stained, it has some old cheap furniture. the grass is all unkempt and there are cigarette butts lying everywhere. The I think that the owner should renovate this dump for pride

Disclaimer :
I have personally not stayed at this location, however recently my friends who were visiting from Ontario, booked this place and this is based on their feedback.

Awesome location, friendly staff, open setting for rooms, all on the ground level.
Rooms were clean and service staff was very helpful.

The major drawback is that each room does not necessarily have a small microwave, or fridge. So if you have kids, you need to choose the kitchenette option when booking.

Less than 15ins walk from the Nanaimo and 29th Avenue skytrain stations which is a blessing, transit bus service also available as it falls on the Major Kingsway road.

It's probably the weakest 5-star experience that I've ever had. The staff is great. I believe they were let down by their property. The rooms are tiny and dated. In a 5 star, I should be able to lower the temperature in my room, but I couldn't. It got so bad that they put an old school fan in my room.
I stay here fairly regularly and it is one of my favorite all-time hotels just in terms of pure comfort + amazing service. It is a true luxury hotel where the staff just take care of everything and you never have to feel bad to ask for anything.

The suites and rooms are very comfortable - I love that the sofas are actually designed for hanging out. The blinds are all electronic and fully blackout. The furniture feels lux. It is right next to a lot of restaurants and the Urban Fare grocery store.

I will say the property is now a bit older and while nothing is "dated" - it doesn't look modern and could use a refresh. But frankly you will not notice because everything is taken care of so well and everything is very luxurious.

Extra shoutouts to the valet, the bell desk, and the room cleaners who are all 5 star. Check in is also great but you only deal with the twice.

I never want to leave when I stay here. Just had a fantastic 4 day trip. Thank you Shangri La team.

It's much cheaper than most other options but that's for a reason, the rooms are very out of date, and not exactly the most clean looking. The hot water didn't work, the bathroom tile looked quite dirty, and there were stains on the carpet.
On the positive side, the bedding was very clean, the outside of the units are very cute, convenient to get a bus down to English bay and Stanley park, some good food options close by, and all the staff were very nice.

My grandparents stayed here about 3 years ago during peak COVID when they came back for quarantine. I know I'm late on this review but my grandparents loved the place. The rooms were spacious, clean, and friendly, It also includes a kitchen so that's a bonus. Excellent place
The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly. But if you are hoping to get a good night's sleep - keep looking. They run a disco at the bar on the first floor and the bass keeps pumping until 3:00 AM. There is no respite. The earplugs do nothing to block low-level frequencies. We tried the front desk - they apologized and promised to ask the bar manager to turn it down. It made no difference.
You can't run a chapel and a brothel under the same roof. Decide what you want to be, Hotel Belmont.

Mold in rooms, rats running around. All around dirty. The window on my door broke because the door swings shut by itself and as it did smashed into my elbow cutting it. Instead of being concerned about their guests and fixing it right away, they put some really thin 1/8 inch thick wood across in place of window. It stayed like that for the duration of my stay about 1 month, on top of that charged me 200 for a small thin piece of single pain glass and didn't even bother to fix it. Abdoloutly horrific place to stay. My laundry was taken out of the dryer and given to another room by the front desk lady. The cleaning ladies are very polite and courteous but thats about all I have to say good about this dive! Oh and it is far too expensive for whst you get there. Better off with an air b&b or a tent
We had a last minute unplanned need to stay at the hotel and they were totally agreeable. The staff went out of their way to look after our extensive needs. The three people at the front desk, especially Gabriel went above and beyond to look after us. Thank you so much for all the support when we really needed it. I would highly recommend this place.
Can't fault the Shangri La! Location is excellent, service is wonderful and the hotel is beautiful! Rooms are a little dark but very clean with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in!! Would highly recommend for a great experience and the best sleep you'll ever have.
Staff was very friendly. They helped us with our luggage. The room is very small but has a big closet. The location is perfect. A few minutes walk from downtown. The cleaning staff forgot to bring us a new paper towel when cleaning our room because we finished the one we had. We had to ask the lobby staff to bring one. Complimentary beer which is nice.
First time visiting Vancouver. Picked it based on the location to the cruise portal. Very close to walk so highly recommend especially because boarding day is hectic with traffic. The hotel staff was AMAZING always went above and beyond to ask me how they can improve my stay. Staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The breakfast I highly recommend getting with your stay there. Breakfast was delicious and had a nice spread. If you on the go they provide take out containers as well. The bar downstairs was fun and chic. Love the location and highly recommend the hotel. FYI there’s this fun taco place I think called the pawn shop, just a couple building down with great all day happy hour! Drug store, grocery store, post office, and great shopping area in the nearby location.
Just look how beautiful the chandelier is in the lobby! I checked in for a day nights and I was greeted with a luxurious room with a tv in the tub wow! That took it to a new level the bags were there as quickly as possible I just love how nice this room is king sized bed and a couch bed wow I could not believe that it was the best room I’ve got it was not that crowded but great staff and I also enjoyed the buffet and the room service!.

Recently came back from a 3-night stay here and have to say it definitely ranks high on the list of best hotels I've ever stayed in.

The service was impeccable from check-in to check-out, the rooms are very spacious, clean and quiet, and breakfast every morning at Carlino's was a delight (thanks to our lovely server every morning!). Overall, it truly felt like a luxury stay.

My only remark to make is that on one of the days, there was a very large and rowdy group of guests in the pool, disturbing us (and other guests), and the attendant didn't say anything about this - however, our stay was perfect other than this particular moment.

Would definitely recommend a stay here!
