Wow! Speaking of great Middle Eastern places! There was always buzz, but totally justified. Came here for lunch and definitely need to return!
FOOD:
The food was excellent! I tried their appetizer sampler first, with falafel, babaganoush, hummus, and of course tabbouleh! All was fresh and the flavours were coming through easily. In particular, their falafel was nice and crispy, which was a great take on a classic. I followed with a simple chicken skewers and those were well done, the chicken was juicy and tangy. This was balanced with well prepared rice.
SERVICE
The service was good, but did not stand out especially for me. Perhaps, it was the afternoon and things were slow.

Nice looking restaurant on Queen St E. The server was very friendly and outgoing. Food was decent and good portions. My wife liked the lamb skewers. There's enough food for leftovers. The veal tenderloin was supposed to be medium rare, but it was more on the rare side. The meat had a nice char on the outside, but some pieces were kind of chewy. I did enjoy the rice and grilled zucchini and bell peppers.
The restaurant has a really nice dining room and a patio on the back. The only thing that diminished the experience was the sign of fruit flies everywhere in the dining room. The craft beers we ordered were pretty good. I got the gild lager, and my wife got the blonde ale.
If you are looking to try some Lebanese and Middle Eastern food, I would recommend you give them a try.

Just fine. The chicken and the spicy falvohr is good. But i dint like the sour taste in the vegetable. I dont kbow what they using. As a southasian, i dont knw their dressings. I enjoyed the chicken. It was delicious. But non of these shawarma cant beat what i tried in backhome. Am still looking other shawarma stores

Great flavours! This has got to be the best plate I’ve had in a looooong time - I think I found my new favourite restaurant. Delicious, chef!! 👏🏻⭐️

I wanted to go here for a long time and finally did it last night. Best food, atmosphere, service. We ordered lahmeh which was rice with bbq veal meat. It was tasty and juicy. We also ordered their cocktails which were 9/10. Service was fast and staff were friendly. Street Parking is available near the restaurant (green p) but limited. 1 h parking is available at the street next to the restaurant.
Excellent shawarma. Portions are fair for the price and without competition the best hummus I have ever had. Their chicken was better and definitely ask for extra sauce and hummus on the side.
We were quick to be seated and the server was very attentive. Started off with hummus, Naan bread, french fries and falafel as appetizers then shared a salmon meal and a garlic shrimp dinner amongst 4 people which came with rice and grilled veggies. The food was delicious, and cooked at the perfect temperature. Will definitely make this part of my regular rotation.
I was just killed by a bunch of chickpeas.. it was a hummuside! This was a catering (offering fully vegan and gluten-free options) meal fit for a an army, what a yummy feast!! This was a perfect well-rounded wholesome lunch, as a Torontonite vegan I'm a diehard falafel fan, the menu is dope, a creative, innovative healthy vegan Mediterranean vibe with comfort food slapped all over and maximum flavor. From the Crispy Cauliflower, to the soft, crispy, light and fluffy falafel.. wow, that was super tasty. The Eggplant is also phenomenal, knockout incredible flavor, textures and seasoning I devoured the whole thing in a second but was slightly too oily.
Trust me.. the Falafel Balls, you'll never look a chickpea in the eye again. These lethal fingerlicking phenomenal and delicious golden circles of joy are a total game changer.

Amazing choices for vegetarians. Tried their fattoush salad, deep fried eggplants and labni dip with Pita. Absolutely loved everything and was super filling. The dates molasses lemonade was so refreshing. Kunafa was really good too! Was too stuffed with just the apps.
One of my favorite Middle Eastern (this is Israeli) restaurants. Love the 3 choice of dips..the freshly baked bread. Love the husband and wife who run the place. Great food, service and positive energy for reasonable price.
Absolutely delicious! Had the chicken shawarma dinner plate with hot sauce. Nice big chunks of chicken. Really liked the lentil in the rice. Great flavour. Salad had lots of cucumber & onion. The sauces were very tasty. Hot sauce had a great flavour, wasn't too hot. My only complaint (if I had to make one) was I would've traded the hummus for more salad. I gave 5 stars for everything because the food was so good, but it does not have 5 star atmosphere.

The sandwich is not like a traditional shawarma wrap, instead it's a stuffed pita. It's smaller than a traditional shawarma as well but they fill it well with meat and salad. The food tasted great, I wish the stuffing was more evenly distributed so don't get sauce only on the top/first few bites and end up with salad at the bottom. They have a lot of employees working in the small shop so even in there's a lunch rush, you'll get your order fairly quick. They have some seating but it's more of a take out restaurant. I would go back. Parking is tricky in this busy strip plaza.
One of the best foods I’ve tried in Toronto so far!!! The dishes are veeeery juicy and delicious, it is hard not to notice good quality and choice of products! Got their winterlicious menu. It was $55 plus tax. Restaurant is quite dim inside, but staff and service is top notch. The steak, Chicken, and Armenian beef, for the entrées were so flavourful and delicious. Dessert was just okay, portion was quite small. My suggestion, for the appetizer is to get the hummus, so flavourful and big portion.
On my quest to finding the best shwarma on Scarborough. This place did not disappoint, I went on Friday night and there was a line up inside.
Their prices are cheaper in store than on ubereats. We ordered a chicken sandwich and a chicken plate. Portions were perfect, and they put this red sauce that made is delicious, not sure if it was their hot sauce.
Would highly recommend visiting.

We had a wonderful meal at Mayrik. We tried their hummus, Armenian dumplings-manti, beef and chicken, and fatoush salad. The hummus was delicious served with fresh bread (must try). Fatoush was well seasoned with fresh sumac. The manti was flavourful and you could tell the dough was homemade. The chicken was so tender and not dry at all with lots of flavour. Finally the beef was well seasoned and cooked. My partner and I would definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner, the vibes are great!

I walked past this place today and decided to stop in for a Chicken shawarma. Well wasn't that a good decision, best shawarma I have had in ages. Nice and thick, not stingy on the portions like other places. I recommend stopping in here if you are in the area, you won't be disappointed!!

The food was flavourful and seasoned well. Chicken was a tad dry and could have been cooked better but it had a good flavour. Dips were the best thing we ate. Salmon was definitely a pass but wasn’t bad.

Went to this place for the first time a week ago. Food was exceptional, fresh and so delicious! But Iris made a difference. She was so helpful and, since she knew it was our first time there, she made sure to explain the menu to us in detail. We enjoyed our food and experience so much that we ate there again, twice in a week! Thank you Crowded House and thank you Iris!
Tabule restaurant exceeded our expectations. Every dish was a delight, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere is perfect for a date. Highly recommended!
We went there around 10:20 pm and there was still a lineup. While their prices were really good, we noticed that the portions were smaller than at other places. We ordered two falafels and one beef shawarma wraps, and they turned out to be delicious except the beef shawarma because the beef was dried.
Went on a Saturday. The staff was super nice and kind enough to prepare brunch dishes for us, despite them only doing brunch on Sundays.
Our server recommended we get things to share. We got the hummus, Shakshuka and khachapuri. The pita with the hummus was a little small in portion, so we had to order some more. The hummus was very smooth and has a great texture. The khachapuri and Shakshuka were also both very tasty. It’s not easy to find khachapuri in the city, but this place has a great version of it.
After our meal, we were super stuffed and despite wanting to try some Armenian dessert, we had no space to do so.
Overall, I recommend this place for their exceptional service and great food.

We came here for Sunday brunch. You could smell the downstairs bathrooms in the eating area. We all ordered Americanos and the Shakshuka. The Americanos seemed very watered down and were translucent. They weren't listed on the menu but we were shocked to get the bill to discover they were $4 each. The Shakshuka was horrible - completely unseasoned, flavorless and dry. It was basically hard-boiled eggs on a plate with no sauce - see pic attached. My friends were shocked by the women's bathroom as there were no functioning toilets (one was missing a handle altogether and a broken stall lock) and no hot water was available to wash their hands. Both bathrooms also appeared to have not been cleaned in quite some time. I would not recommend going here for their brunch/lunch service based on our experience. But I cannot speak to their dinner service or food.
I used to like the place,because it was good. My last visit was an okay experience. Spices were weak on the chicken. Chicken wasn't good this time. I got only a few pieces of chicken, and 3 of the pieces were fatty,probably chicken skin. Service is always good,friendly, and kind.
Family run strip mall shop. Generous portions of protein in the plate and pita sandwich. The pita was stuffed with meat from first to late bite. Taste is better than most but not the best. Would visit again.
Vibrant Arabic spot. We had tried Shish tawook and hummus before, this time we went for Zaatar. If u ever tried Zaatar in Lebanon you would give 5 star for this one. 🌟

The food at Tabule is very good and fresh. I loved the falafels! My table mates loved the lamb chops and garlic shrimp I haven’t been there since the renovations and I do like the modern aesthetics. Staff was very friendly and service was excellent. Would go back
Amazing atmosphere and staff… they make sure you have everything you need from the moment you walk in. The owner is welcoming and staff patiently told us about the popular dishes. The food quality is amazing… this was my second time at the restaurant and i will definitely coming back with my friends! Thank you 🙏🏻

Tabular is always served delicious Middle Eastern food. Fresh table, hummus, lamb, bread is great. I also enjoyed their dessert!
Absolutely two thumbs up recommended place to go for an amazing Armenian food. The restaurant is tastefully decorated with traditional Armenian pieces yet the place looks modern. The food knocks you down from the first bite, delicious and sometimes never tried anywhere. Again, highly recommending for ethnic Armenian food and a nice choice of cocktails, wines, and beer. Elegant place, reminded me some restaurants in New York.
What a lovely hidden gem! Loved their fig salad and the broken heart eggplant. The eggplant is drizzled with warm tahini and pine nuts. The freshly baked laffa was soft and goes very well with the egg plant and baba ganoush. The aged lamb chops were grilled perfectly, very tender and flavourful. They have an open kitchen concept and you can see them make the food. Service was excellent and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Highly recommended!! ⭐️⭐️
Twice I've dined at Tabule and twice I've been thoroughly impressed. The last visit saw me indulging in their Kebab Bandura and Eggplant Mujadara, both of which were simply sublime. It's evident that they're consistent with their quality and flavors. Can't wait for my next visit! Highly recommended for anyone seeking an authentic and delicious experience.
The level of care that was taken in every detail of this meal was amazing. Every bite was delicious. The service was excellent, and the restaurant smelled fantastic. I am deeply grateful that we stumbled upon this restaurant, I am so full in the best possible way. We watched the laffa bread proof before our meal, and the owner informed us that the bread proofs three times before it goes into the tandoori-style oven. I even watched the cook put the bread in the oven. Group consensus was that the signature eggplant dip was amazingly fresh-- personally, it was my favorite.
I will definitely come back, and I highly recommend a visit or a food delivery/pick up.

Great service and friendly atmosphere it almost seemed like everyone that came in there was smiling and warm to each other even though none of us knew each other!
The food was professionally and proficiently prepared, even for out large order. Sanitary standards were observed throughout, and presentation was conscientious.

Grabbed lunch here today - great atmosphere and service; really enjoyed the fact that they also offered off-menu items! The grilled octopus was so fresh and probably one of the better ones I've had in the city. Chicken platter was seasoned very well and very tasty. Very interesting menu - will definitely come back again. Highly recommended!
Sad to give Souk Tabule a 3 ⭐️. I have been coming to them for the past few years and always found the food to be great! I went in on Friday and was deeply disappointed with the food. Their saj bread was still delicious (thank goodness!) but everything else was okay. The quality has gotten downhill, and I’m unsure why. I’ve always been a huge fan of the samke Sammie but it was too fishy and the coating was very saggy.

Had a falafel and chicken shawarma. Wonderful. Lots of veggies and as the namesake says, it tastes FRESH.
Dropped by for brunch recently where we ordered manti, a plate of dips and the soujouk omelette. Everything was really delicious with great table service.
The only downer is the AC seemed to be down at the time, so we sat on the patio when the bees were being very active. But, I’d be happy to come back to try the dinner menu in the future.

We have had shawarmas at many places in thr GTA and in various cities in Canada. This shawarmas here are very, very good. Close to thr best we have had. The restaurant is a casual one, with limited seating and is not fancy. But the food is excellent quality, decent portions and authentic taste. Absolutely value for money.
Such a good find!!! So many vegetarian options. The crispy fried potato was done to perfection, soft on the inside, well seasoned, perfectly cooked. We tried the “broken heart” eggplant which had nice Smokey flavour. And that Laffa - was probably the best I’ve every had in my life! Baked fresh with fermented dough in-house, just melts in your mouth and a great side kick to any dish on the menu.

It's a cafe style restaurant with good Middle Eastern food. You get seated on a table, scan the menu with QR code (standard) and have to walk to the cashier to place the order and pay upfront, after which the server will bring your food to the table.

They have plenty of vegetarian options as well and they taste great.

This is like the casual, fast-serve little brother of Tabulé and feels like it. You won't find table service here, as it feels much more lunch-orientated.
But if you like Lebanese food or want to try Beirut street food, this is the spot.

So, if you're a fan of minimal interaction with serving staff, this is the place for you. (It is a service-style very much like many places in the UK, for example.) I'm not so hot on this style personally but I understand why it exists in this setting.

We tried so many different options and all were excellent, but special shout out to the pulled chicken wrap and the falafel. There are plenty of good falafel to find in Toronto if you know where to look, but Souk/Tabulé must be up there in top 3, if not #1. They are absolutely perfect in every way. There wasn't anything we ordered that we didn't like.

There are plenty of good falafel to find in Toronto if you know where to look, but Souk/Tabulé must be up there in top 3, if not #1. They are absolutely perfect in every way. There wasn't anything we ordered that we didn't like.
Good coffee and sides. Dirty rice is a must.
Staff is all helpful and friendly. Atmosphere is clean, minimal, and bright (the opposite of Riverside Tabulé). Too bad the alarm (testing?) kept going off. That wasn't too pleasant but downtown condos seem to do this all the time.
Probably the best lunch spot in the Canary district.
Cozy restaurant with homey decor. There are 4-5 tables of four and a large communal high top table. Tables are made from natural wood. Menu has many options for vegan, meat eaters and piscitarians. Dishes are well portioned and appetizers are large enough to share. Had the cauliflower app which was well spiced, tasty, with a tahini sauce. I had the sea beam which was a tasty, sweet white fish, well salted. Be aware, fish come with the head and you may need to be careful with bones, this be careful. Potatoes were perfectly seared, a bit on the garlicky? side with a hint of lemon. Side salad was one of the best salads I've had, with fresh grape tomatoes and arugula. I'm surprised something so simple was good. My food mate had the chicken parm which was a good portion. Unfortunately we got there ay the end of the night so we missed the mashed potatoes and some other signature items. Service was excellent, we were waited on by the couple which I believe own the restaurant. She was very informed of the menu and tastes. Cost: $25-32 depending on the entree, sides $15-20, the entree combo with sides are enough that you may not need an app...but you'll miss the flavour. Total $120 for a dinner for three. I'd say it was actually 4.5*. Overall: Great food. Spiced well, large portions...something to look forward to in the east end. Only wish, more room for more people to eat!
We ordered five dishes while two of them were sold out. It’s kinda disappointing. Plus we don’t really know Mediterranean food well, most of the dishes we ordered were actually just sauce, but the server didn’t tell us about that. We waited for 20 mins for three sauces and an appetizer.
However the food itself is good. Well designed and yummy. Very oily for us, but it will be satisfying for someone who loves fat food. The desert is creative and the price is very fair. We really like the look of the restaurant as well, organic and fashionable. One fact we like the most is that the background music was not as loud as some other places, which made the conversations easier. The chief checked how was everything twice during the dinner. We can see that he was pretty confident of the food. We may go back and try some signature dishes one day. Hopefully they will not be sold out again.
