My heart will always be in this Masjid for how the Brothers treated me when I lived in Arlington.
Sad to rate a masjid this low...I'm sure the organizers are trying their best with whatever situation and resources they have. However, this location is not feasible for women to pray in. The women's section is very dirty and cluttered, almost like a storage room. I understand if there is no room for a proper full section. However, at least the space can be clean enough to pray in. I did not even try going down the stairs to the sisters section down stairs as it was soo dark and dirty. Just stopped by to pray Asr as we were in the area, and unfortunately I wasn't able to. I'd be happy to help organize a volunteer effort to help clean up and make the masjid more inviting to sisters.
Great building with lots of accessories like a park. There is also a bike store at the second level called Phoenix Bikes.
This is a relatively new building/facility and it is SO nice! Love the pickleball courts. Great drop-in play. Huge fan!
I noticed this beautiful building one day and walked in just out of curiosity. I was warmly greeted by this charming woman, Raga Omer, a staff member, who told me all about the facility, its programs and recreational equipment, and walked me through personally. I was totally impressed by her hospitable attitude and what the Center offers, and am considering joining, even though I live in Alexandria.
I wished this masjid would have been little more accommodating towards people with disabilities. There are a lot of stairs and even at the entrance you have to leave your shoes on the masjid steps. It is not very comfortable and even dangerous.
Wonderful clean community center where anyone can play! They had basketballs so you could use the indoor court and rooms to rent (look like a busy Saturday with alewl the rooms booked for parties and events). We came for the playground which was amazing for both my 4 and 9 year old. Both loved the long slide with the rock climbing wall and the sandbox was full of buddies to play with. Great trails to walk around!
This masjid is well organized, very clean, always offer tea, plenty of parking and nice community. Love to come here for prayer
Beautiful facility with an indoor track
We like the playground at this place. It's awesome. There is lots of stuff for kids. Also the center has football classes for toddlers.
Beautiful Arlington County Parks & Rec. facility with covered parking garage that’s free if you’re out within 4 hours (Similar to Arlington Mill CC)… just not overnight. Senior programs, a child daycare program, large gymnasium with elevated indoor track weightlifting/fitness room, and the meeting space for birthday parties is wonderful, with a nice kitchenette. Plenty of WiFi here, and you can process payments for other Parks & Rec programs in-person here. I’ve been in the conference rooms for meetings, and it’s a great space, thought if you have multiple groups having simultaneous conversations, and the rooms can be noisy. The finish on the inside is beautiful aesthetic rustic in form, but very hi-tech in function

Outside, there's a great playground for kids, small fields, basketball/pickleball courts, and ADA-accessible trails, plus a connection to the Lubber Run trail and amphitheater, so it's easy to go on a hike, play basketball, and eat birthday cake here in one trip. This is a well-though-out space with loads of parking. I personally have been on several walks in the parks with my partner, and played catch with my kids outside. The playground had different areas for kids of different ages and skillsets – perfect place for your kids to play while you check out the Farmers Market at Barrett Elem.
Wow, let’s talk about how this cc blows away all suburban ccs. Geez where do we start. So the first thing you see is an amazing rope walk playground. Go inside and there’s a VA Cooperative Extension office to the right where there’s a seed bank library ie free seeds for all and other gardening info. Art line the hallways. Big cultural impressive art that looks created from class participants. Saw this really clever Chihuly esque art project with earth focus theme … it was very deceptive! Keep walking and there’s a lending library (limited hours) and out door garden nooks with herbs found in Ricola. Wow.
Epic play ground. Small zip line is fun. Big tower with rope bridge is very cool but make sure your kids are ok with heights or be prepared to rescue them.
Hosted my daughter's first birthday party here and everything went smoothly.
Pros- Venue is a great size, has a playground out back, parking is easy, reasonably priced for the area, full commercial kitchen inside venue.
Cons: Be aware that the amount of rules for this venue are very strict and in order to receive your entire deposit back you must literally scrub the floors and leave not one crumb behind.
Awesome park. They have separate play areas for big kids and small. There's also a track that goes around the park as well as restrooms. Parking does get full but there is street parking also. Farmers market is there on Sundays
Formerly an elementary school until the late 1970s, this building continues to get good use. They have a gym here that is cheaper than the nearby options. It is also the local polling place for elections. Farmers markets are held outside of the building on weekends.
Big community center with various courts. Plenty of pickelball courts and one basketball court between them. Also a kids section with slides and rock climbing and more. Inside the building, there are people playing volleyball and running and walking on the track that wrap around the courts on the second floor. Those volleyball courts can be transformed to basketball courts. Parking is very convenient, being free up to 4 hours
This was our first visit to the inside of this facility.

The inside is a beautiful, modern facility with meeting rooms, courts, and a modern gym. There is plentiful, below-ground parking at a reasonable hourly rate. I really enjoy taking my kids to the outdoor playground with it's imaginative structures and plentiful seating for grownups. The hill slides and climbing area are great fun. Best of all, you can walk in from the lubber run nature area right next door, so you can enjoy a walk by the creek and a break at the playground.
Great table tennis community.
Privately owned (managed by LPCC board of trustees) and available for events. It has a kitchen, enclosed patio and outdoor area. I rented for my daughter's birthday. Nice venue.
The place is very good and suitable for children. The teachers are amazing. My daughter has learned a lot. It is a place where all children can make a difference and learn.
The playground offers play equipment and areas for small children as well as older children. There is a unique elevated slide structure with climbing nets, and a bridge. This playground is very popular with Fairlington children as well as former residents, residents of nearby neighborhoods and their children. This recreation center is also the site of a popular farmers' market on Sunday mornings.
Great facility for hosting community events with a park in the backyard. What more can you ask for? I came here a few weeks ago to help a local animal shelter with a fundraising event and I wa pleasantly surprised with the size of this building. It has a very large kitchen and plenty of room for dining as well as a side room for use. I'm not sure what they charge, but it is a really great venue for the area.
I had a very odd accident and was bleeding quite hard from my head. The employees were so kind and caring-especially Sean and Tammy. Sean jumped into action without hesitation to stop the bleeding and checked on me and my kids multiple times after the incident. Really appreciate their kindness! Also, a very nice and clean facility. But 5 stars for the hard working employees!
Wish they could be here open Sunday
Friendly staff.
This playground it's very cool for having fun with kids, there are also some toys around, and lots of trees.

Welcome to the Banglades Islamic Center

The Carlin Hall Community Center is located in the Glencarlyn neighborhood where I’ve lived for the 32 years. The community center and the Glencarlyn library are the hub of the neighborhood.

It is an historic building that has been used over the years for a variety uses, including an elementary school, rec center, community and social events, and currently a pre-school.
Our son has art classes & gym class there and loves it.
Beautiful venue and surroundings.
The rock climbing hill and slides were pretty unique. All my kiddos just under 2 and up to 3 we're able to climb up the rock hill. Other cool features as well. I would recommend going on a shady day. Not a lot of shade. Otherwise a great park!!
Everything seemed great until we went for a walk through of the venue. We were being watched through a camera which I understood because of COVID restrictions at the time. After the walk through all communication turned negative. I was desperate to secure a venue and quickly paid in full $1,900. The rental agent went out of her way to force me to cancel.

Examples:

1) Told that if we are too loud the police would be called and deposit forfeited.

2) Told no music allowed outside. Music could only be played inside with windows and doors closed. (No where stated in contract and Google photos show amplified music / concerts outside)

3) Contract capacity listed as 75 but received an email demanding me to confirm for 50 or less. Which were not in line with state COVID restrictions at the time.

4) Contract time was 1 - 10 pm but told afterwards to leave by 8:30 pm or forfeit deposit.

It felt very discriminatory as the tone of all communication changed when I showed up in person. If this is how everyone is treated then this will remain a mystery.
Come join us ! Lot's of activities for your kids
Super recitations from both Imam this year in Ramadan, even though the mosque is small, are very organized. We need to support to make it bigger, especially the parking lot. They have a goal of building one. They have 1.5 years left to start on it. They are looking for $400k, please; if you could help support and donate (check their websites) would be more appreciated.
A Great Mosque! The only and a big problem is their timing. A 1:45 prayer performed at around 2:30 and 2:15 is almost at 3 pm and so on.

Sometime Imam took 5 minutes while the other take around 30 to 45 minutes for Khutbah. There is no fixed timing for prayer.

Always give yourself at minimum of 1 hour break if you want to pray jummah prayer here.

Parking everything is good.
Very nice center. The vaccine system is a well oiled machine. The floor hockey rink intrigued me. Free parking up to 4 hours in the underground garage. Looks like there several floors of classrooms and meeting spaces. Very modern building. Arlington does this stuff very well
This is very nice, well-maintained park. Plenty of shade for both kids and adults. This is a very old park, I used to go there as a kid myself and enjoyed it because it seemed like a very nicely groomed, huge yard, where you and your friends could sit under one of the gigantic old trees and eat a PBJ sandwich and just be a kid. Not many places where you can do that nowadays.
Beautiful space with plenty of natural light. Lovely wood work too. Greatly needed public space.
Great playground with interesting playground equipment. The area is very spacious with two play areas - one for older kids and one for younger kids. The parking is ample, but it does get crowded. There are benches and picnic tables with shade. About half the people there wore masks. We went at an irregular time and that made a difference since there were less people than in the morning.
Watch gunston boys basketball team go undefeated for the year
Modern community center, situated on bike and foot trail along Four Mile Run. Great basketball court with natural light, a couple kitchen class rooms, fitness center on upper floor with windows facing Columbia Pike. You can rent rooms for private and community events. I've been there for Harry Potter birthday parties ,Girl Scout events and Park and Rec classes. Under ground parking garage that requires ticket, but I don't think I've ever paid for parking.
Beautifully kept, great location and I liked that it was a do it yourself venue. It’s priced just right for people on a budget. Bill’s setup for my retirement was great. Cindy was always available through email for questions or concerns and she works with you. Trust me I was a difficult one I changed the times of my event 3 times.
Very nice facility. Most of the staff is helpful. I was disappointed, though, because I arrived there for a meeting, and pulled up to the parking ticket machine and got a ticket and immediately dropped it somewhere. I was actually late for the meeting because I was searching my car, and the area around the machine, etc. I asked two people inside and they said to just push the button when I leave and ask for assistance. So, I did. The attendant then told me it would be $22 to park. I had not even been in the building for 45 minutes. Now, I get it, if you lose your ticket, you pay the max fine. Sure. But the funny thing was - the parking was FREE that day/night for whatever reason. All of the other people at the meeting I was attending did not have to pay, but I had to pay $22. I could understand it if there was a charge, but if no one else had to pay anything, I'm not sure why I had to pay 22. Oh, well.
Great playground. Plenty of toys, equipment, and running space. Wish it had a public bathroom. The community center has signage stating “no public restrooms.) When entertaining small children, a restroom is vital. This is a nice “quick stop” park.
Very generous, sincere and hands on people. They help a lot of needy, poor people and youths. I feel my spirituality boasted and calmness praying here. The Imam is very humble, knowledgable and has golden heart and voices leading the prayers. Enjoying it :)
This is a 120+ year old community building with a modern playground in back. Playground gets a thumbs-up for the nice variety of elements and numerous slides. Inside is a preschool by day and rentable space on the weekends. A great place for a little kid birthday party. In the heart of a historic neighborhood next to a public library. Has off-street parking if you approach from the north.
Very welcoming. It is small. Exercise room is limited. But I rated high for the friendliness of the staff. I toured the 55+ room and the lady was real busy but she was still pleasant and she invited me to sit in her office and she took time to explain the program to me. The young lady at the front desk was helpful and friendly.
A community building that operates a half day preschool and is available for rent for private functions. Hidden gem For weekend birthday parties for kids because of adjacent playground and room for moon bounce. Historic building, one room schoolhouse, recently restored.
Nice, small playground for 2-7 year olds. Building recently remodelled and in good shape. Currently used mornings for county children's summer camps. A nice neighborhood resource.
Went to a kids birthday party held here and it was great for that function. A nice Playground kept the kids busy and safe and the facilities were clean and easy to make clean again before leaving. Cool locally historical building.
Carlin Hall is a wonderful community center with a very nice playground for young children.
Our son came here for a summer camp. The staff were great and he loved it.
Great staff and community participation.
Like the badminton fields there. But it only opens for badminton every Friday night
