This lovely cafe has seating outside overlooking the canal, or seating inside in their dark and moody cafe. The staff were helpful and spoke great English which was also very helpful! We had the ‘Dutch’ pancake and the pancake with apple, and cinnamon ice cream and WOW, they were good! The Dutch is very indulgent and very sweet. The cinnamon ice cream on the apple pancake was to die for. The only downside was the milk used in the coffee, im not sure what it was but I would not order this again.

Pretty touristy with a queue but it's so good, unique pancakes and tasty. You can choose between sweet or savory. I took banana and chocolate with vanilla ice cream. It was perfect

Pretty Average. Smoothies were below average and bitter. Menu cards were sticky. Need a lot of improvement.

While food is pretty opnionated, from all the years of having Dutch pancakes, the pancake itself tasted very blend and floury to me - and I do not have a sweet tooth. The orange juice also came at a room temperature. For the above, I rated Food a 3.

The service was horrible outside - the guy was not bothered, obviously did not want to be there, and made very sarcastic comments to every single person in the queue. But once seated, we were greeted by a lovely sunshine that brightened up everyone's mood.

I made sure I asked her name - Keswani. She really boosted the review from a 1 star to a 3 stars. She was friendly, thoughtful, genuine, and patient with customers - always with a big smile on her face. For that, I averaged the service rating to a 4 - I would have expected the staff at the door to have a more welcoming attitude like the brand's tone of voice.

Lastly, the atmosphere was nice. Air conditioning would have been appreciated, but weather is a little out of the business control - so I've still rated it a 5 😊

Food: I ordered the bacon and eggs and my friend ordered the French pancake
Both were pretty okay. I Do think the pancakes were better though.

Service: Our waiter was attentive to us which was good. No issues with that.

Atmosphere: Very lively even for early in the morning.

Great restaurant right on the canal! Good portion sizes and great service. The pancakes were honestly delicious. We sat inside, they had an awesome playlist!

I ordered some mini pancakes but they didn’t really taste like anything. I don’t know if it‘s supposed to taste that way since it’s my first time trying it but it lacked flavoring. It’s expensive for something really not mind blowing.
The service really isn’t good too. The servers are really young which isn’t a bad thing itself but they were chewing gum and didn’t seem to care about anything. I asked for a specific flavor of Fanta and they got it wrong twice in a row. They’re also on their phones right in front of the customers. You don’t feel very welcome…
I didn’t go to the toilets but the restaurant was clean when I was there, and it was full. I saw a girl clean a table as soon as some clients left.

Just do it!! Delightful crepes -- sweet, savory, or combinations, and some of the most awesome employees around!!

I'm not really a fan of pancakes, but all my friends told me I had to try them. So I did, and they did NOT disappoint!!! They have American and Dutch styles; I had the Dutch (for the experience) and though I tried my best, it was more than I could finish!! They don't have takeout, so I sat and people watched until I could try again..

Very bad. I Would NOT recommend this place at all. Bad food and bad service. I asked for some tap water and they said they “don’t do tap water” so I had to pay for a bottled water. The waiters were chatting in the table right next to me eating Mc Donald’s. I live in the Netherlands for five years and I have never eaten such a bad pancake. Not tasty and the dough was raw. Never again.

Loved the pancakes! There was a line, but it moved fast and we were seated in 15min. The interior space is ok, although a bit crowded and with a high turnover of clients. Pancakes are great: larger and a bit thicker than French crepes, generous on the toppings and very tasty. My favorites were the apple - almond -vanilla sauce and the goat cheese - spinach & bacon. Staff was kind but a bit slow & unexperienced.

We arrived and waited around 5 minutes for a waiter to seat us.
Waiter 1 asked if we would like eat in, and then told us to wait.
Waiter 2 asked us the same thing and asked us to wait, and then got seated in a booth. The table was NOT cleaned. Waiter 3 cleaned the table right on the floor.
Waiter 3 gave us the menu and waiter 4 took our order.
We ordered traditional Dutch pancakes. The food was very good.
The lemonade is just syrup and water. For tea, you receive hot water and a tea packet.
We didn’t receive a receipt and the POS receipt was blank.
The restaurant was mostly empty but the staff was negligent and there was a useless line at the door because they couldn’t seat people.
You have to pay to use the restroom and supposedly the proceeds go to UNICEF.
The food was very good but the service was bad.

Food and atmosphere was very good, but the service was very disappointing. Our server was rude; she was not interested in her job, but don't let the bad service keep you away :) Food was great. First time trying such pancakes and we loved it.

A specialized place for Dutch and American pancakes. I highly recommend to give it a try. It’s located near to the Central station, so it’s usually packed with travelers. Food is tasty. Location is great. However, the service was rushed and wasn’t the best. Also, we waited forever to get our orders, expect the cappuccino which I received the first (almost 30 mins before the food). By the time I received the food the cappuccino went cold!

Ein super süßes Lokal im Untergeschoss, Souterrain. Hier haben wir eine Zwiebelsuppe gegessen und Poffertjes. Wirklich sehr zu empfehlen. Es war so lecker. Service ist super freundlich. Das Lokal ist gut besucht und je nachdem, was man bestellt hat, dauert es etwas länger, aber es lohnt sich. Nur Kartenzahlung. Toiletten sind im hinteren Bereich des Lokals und sehr eng.

We waited in line for a little while. Place is very busy. If you’re here for breakfast, i would not recommend getting no. 26 as it’s far too sweet and there’s too much chocolate sauce. However the dutch pancake was delicious (a bit salty) but a perfect breakfast nonetheless. They also do not have takeaway boxes, so forget about taking your leftover meal home. Would come back though.

My husband and I met there with a couple of friends, the staff was really kind as we had to wait quite long for them to arrive and they never put pressure on us to order. In picture my bombastic brunch: pancake with strawberries, chocolate and whipped cream. The only negative side was the toilet, too dirty to be used. I would suggest more regular checks on that side as it is a quite busy branch.

One of the best pancake spots in Amsterdam! It had a great location, vibe, and taste. Also, they have another menu for people with dietary restrictions, such as gluten-free, vegan, and lactose-free. My vegan friend was completely happy with her dish!

Food was OK. We didn't have to wait long to order, but tables were dirty. After ordering we waited some time. Food was freshly made, very tasty. We ate quickly and left.

I had 10 Dutch mini pancakes And i recommend it! If you wanna experience local dessert place, this can be right for you, i loved it :)

We came in on a calm day, so the service was fast and good! And the atmosphere was good with the nice music that was playing.
And the mini pancakes, wow! Great taste, a generous amount of Nutella and strawberries and great all over!

The overall place is pretty okay, however the music is rather loud. The dutch mini pancakes were good, aswell as the churros that we had. The coffee was okay too. However it took quite a while for the staff to come take our order, when we asked if we should order at the bar we were seated but at one point we were still waiting to give our order and I saw all of the staff members just on their phones, that felt a little weird. Also the tables weren't swept and the toilet was a little uncared for but those were just details... conclusion 5/10, not bad food but if i had another chance i would go elsewhere, mainly because of the service.

I had a nice experience here. The Pancake bakery is a large two storey building with dimly lit rooms on the banks of the Prinsengracht canal. The service was really good, I only had to wait a few moments to be seated and have my order taken and the pancakes were served quickly. I ordered the Dutch pancake which was good, but very sweet.

We went here first thing in the morning when it opened and had a great time. The staff was friendly and inviting, and the food was excellent!

We had the Ham and Mushroom pancake, and a Bacon and Mushroom pancake. Looking back, one of us should have picked a sweet option instead of two savory ones, but it was early and we were jet-lagged and not thinking well apparently.

Either way, the food was great and we loved them both anyway. You won't regret making a trip here.

First of all, great service. The staff were friendly and helpful, they come back during your meal to check up on you and ask how your meal was.

Ordered the Canadian Pancake, loaded with cheese, mushroom, bacon the pancake was huge. Recommended to be shared if you are not a big eater or order a different one so you can share with each other.

Also ordered the Dutch pancake with butter and sugar, delicious plump little pancakes.

Definately worth a visit for PANCAKES IN AMSTERDAM!

I want to share our disappointing experience at this Amsterdam restaurant. We went there based on a hotel recommendation.

A friendly guy welcomed us and let us choose our table. But things went downhill from there because of the young waitress.

She actively ignored us. We waited a long time, and she didn't take our order, even though she walked right by us twice. We had to go to ask the kitchen staff for service.

When we asked for water, she ignored us again. We just wanted to leave, so we used gestures and spoke loudly to get the bill. Still, she ignored us, focusing on other customers.

I had to stand up and ask the kitchen staff for the bill. The lady there redirected us to our waitress. It was only when a guy from another part of the restaurant gave us the bill that we could leave.

I expressed our dissatisfaction to him, but he brushed it off and asked about the food. We said it was just "okay," too salty and oily.

If we could, we'd give this place a negative rating. No one should be treated the way we were by that waitress.

Absolutely loved the poffertjes! These bite-sized Dutch pancakes were incredibly delicious, with a perfect balance of sweetness. They were fluffy and served piping hot, creating a delightful treat. A must-try for anyone who enjoys a delightful and unique dessert experience

Nachos is the best one that I have ever had.

Pancake and omelette are both excellent. I highly recommend every one comes.

By the way hot tea is free. Staffs are all friendly.

5 star Amsterdam Pancakes in the heart of the city! Old world charm from the moment you step in the door (you may need to duck your head under the adorable door). Amazing traditional Dutch Pancakes, both sweet, savory, and delicious!! We opted for the ham, cheese, and Canadian pancakes with the best French Onion soup I’ve had. The service was superb, fast and friendly. Would highly recommend this Amsterdam Pancakes place.

Loved this place and their staff! They accommodated for a group of 13 of us and did a great job of it. The food was lovely and fresh and so quick. We got savoury pancakes to share and some sweet ones at the end, they were delicious. Advisable to book before you go as it can get really busy. Max was our waiter for the afternoon who was fantastic throughout. There was a lady who gave us our food who was a tad abrupt and basically threw our food plates at us and didn't apologise but Max service outweighed hers. Thank you to the teams and PB Amsterdam. It did not disappoint.
