Had been to this place for Kayaking, good adventure
Amazing free public program run by volunteers to provide access to the Hudson River. It introduced me to outrigger canoeing, sea kayaking, stand up paddling, and most importantly, the passionate community behind the boathouse. Seeing the cityscape from the water and passing under bridges is unforgettable. Each trip is an excellent adventure with knowledgeable and devoted volunteers teaching and guiding participants to safely navigate the busy waterway.
Hands down one of the best public (and free) paddling programs in the state! This group is great because they will provide instruction on how to kayak/SUP/surfski and you can decide how much you want to push it. Whether you want to just hang out in a cove or be crazy enough to attempt 30 mile paddles, this group has something for everyone! Definitely check it out while the summer is still here!

I come out all the way from Brooklyn to volunteer and go on trips here! Great people and lots of opportunities to learn and do some positive for the community (and river health).
What a phenomenal organization. I live on the other side of the river but have visited often in my various kayaks and on my paddle boards. Their free kayaking program is a great gift to the community, the annual paddle board, kayak and outrigger canoe races and celebrations are a lot of fun and they do a great job with keeping their beach extremely clean. And not to mention they are just a bunch of nice people.
