This is my daughters third year at Mohawk! She loves it every single year. Before the camp is over we are already enrolling for the next year. Your child doesn’t need to know anybody there. They make new friends every day there. The counselors are amazing and the communication is spot on! We wouldn’t go anywhere else

Top notch staff, amazing activities (mountain biking, pottery wheel, outdoor adventure, ninja warrior, just go name a few). And they have towel service and provide hot lunch and busi transportation. My son misses the friends he made and wants to go back next season!

Mohawk has been a fantastic camp experience for the past 5 years. We are so lucky to have found such a beautiful summer community for our family!

There is no other place like Camp Mohawk! It gets better and better every year, and it brings such happiness out in everyone. From the bus counselors, to the directors, to the swim instructors, it is such a well oiled machine. My kids grew so much this summer, and we are so grateful to be part of this magical
Place! They are counting the days till next summer already! Thank you for being the best day camp there is!

I'm not a parent or a child, nor do I work for the camp.
I am an outside artist hired to teach the children and I just say it's a very well run camp the kids seem happy and engaged, the staff is friendly, and there is plenty to do.

I used to work at Camp Mohawk years ago during the summer when I was home from college while getting my BA In education. I worked as one of the specialist where the children explored exotic animals in small groups (Father Nature). We weren’t paid much, but it was my first experience “teaching” and I learned a lot from the experienced teachers there (Pablo and Diane). Meals were included and so was transportation plus the parents always took care of us via tips. When I was getting my Masters they encouraged me to apply at the day school. Very sweet people!

Fast forward 16 years later, I’ve been teaching for 11 years now and have my own family. I was curious how the camp was navigating post pandemic so I checked them out and I’m super impressed. It looks like they’ve kept up with the times and added so much more to the camp grounds. Camp Mohawk continues to be a good investment! After working at Camp Mohawk, you know no other day camp compares to it. I live upstate now but i’m highly considering having my kids spend summers in New Rochelle with my parents so they can have the Camp Mohawk experience. 💛💛💛

I went to Mohawk Day Camp back in 1960 and 1961 and had a great time there as a kid. I expect certain things have changed since then, probably some of the staff have moved on, and others have been hired, but this is just conjecture. Anyways, I’m sure it’s still a great place for kids, so I just wanted to weigh in.

This was my son’s second year at Mohawk. What another amazing year! Everything was amazing! From the organization, to the communication, to the fun that he had! The AM and PM bus monitors were in constant communication via Mohawk 360°. His head counselor, Amy, was absolutely wonderful! As well as his other counselors, Jonah, Spencer and Kevin. Amy would go above and beyond to make sure I knew my son was happy and okay each day. We are already signed up for summer 2024! So glad to be apart of the Mohawk family!
The place for kids! All day fun activities. Great staff!

My daughter truly enjoyed her first full day summer camp experience at Mohawk. The counselors were very warm and supportive. The communication between all staff and parents is excellent and the daily activities kept my daughter eager to attend camp on a daily basis. Pulling off a safe summer experience during a pandemic was also very impressive. We are very grateful for Mohawk for giving our daughter such a great summer. She tells us often how much she misses it!
One of the greatest gifts we've given our children is a summer at Elmwood Day camp. It is truly amazing the emotional and social growth our boys (ages 3 and 5) experienced in 8 short weeks. They found new passions, gained (so much!) confidence and also made great friends...me too! :-) Each day the tireless efforts of the staff impressed me. Communication and variety was never lacking. Respect, fun, love and true care exudes from Elmwood. Icing on the cake is that my (reserved, cautious) 5 yr old learned to swim WITHOUT swimmies and continues to strive. We even enrolled both boys in local fall swim to practice for next summer!
My husband and I feel incredibly lucky to have found Elmwood day camp. We can't wait for next year!!!

My kids count the days until they can return to Elmwood Day Camp! My kids get to spend the summer being "kids" in a caring and friendly place where they feel at home. They have gained new confidence in themselves as friends, individuals and valuable members of a team. And they don't even realize it because they are so busy swimming, playing basketball, writing a camp newspaper and cooking!

This summer will be our 8th summer at Elmwood, and each year it keeps getting better. There are a broad range of fun activities and the swim program is excellent, but what makes Elmwood so special is the people. I continue to be amazed by the warm and caring staff, the unbelievable attention to detail and the commitment to the well-being, happiness and success of each camper. Kids feel safe, known and appreciated at camp, which enables them to grow in amazing ways. Of the many decisions we've made as parents, choosing Elmwood was one of our best.

One of the things I really love about Elmwood Day Camp is that it's not a one-dimensional camp. It's not just about sports, or art, or swimming, or drama, but it helps highlight a child's interests and pushes them to try new things in all those areas. My daughter was a very reluctant swimmer, and as much as we tried lessons and swimming with her, she wasn't making much progress. Her counselors & instructors at Elmwood got her from dipping her chin to swimming under water in a matter of weeks. With the immersion into different sports and activities, she's gained a lot more confidence in the years she's been there and has made great friends at Elmwood as well. Also, the number of returning counselors and leadership that attended Elmwood as campers reinforces the positive environment that is focused on individuality, personal growth, and just being a kid. Our son will be going this year and we're looking forward to a great experience as much as he is!

I cannot say enough good things about Elmwood Day Camp. As a teacher myself the educational, hands-on, creative, and dramatic arts flair to this camp is exactly what I was looking for! My 4 year old had his first summer last year and he came home every day raving about what he did each day. In 8 weeks he became a soccer player, an under-water swimmer (THIS WAS HUGE FOR US!!), a theater actor, an enthusiastic musician, a kinder friend, and a more well rounded, confident child. The staff is nurturing, caring, devoted, and go above and beyond to provide the campers with a wonderful and rewarding experience. And, most importantly, it is FUN! My son cannot wait to return for another summer next year! It really is the best day camp in Westchester!
