IMO, the best golf course in the area. There are a number of great courses along the 270/70 corridor, but I have to give the top spot to Whiskey Creek. The setting is the best, like you're in Western MD or PA, with great views and distant vistas. Most holes are quite unique from the other with a lot of elevation changes. Ernie Els did a marvelous job considering this was one of his earliest designs. The rock outcroppings at the top of the mountain and the stone house just add to the historical feel, not to mention the sound of the trains that rumble deeply in the distance. The condition of the course was flawless, quite remarkable considering a droughty summer the months prior. The clubhouse is probably the best in the area as well. Staff was very friendly. I'll have to return here more often.

We just played this course this past Friday (7/26) and it was in pristine condition! We are from Richmond, Virginia area and play this course every summer when we come in town. Such a good layout, and great conditions. Nice carts, very cool clubhouse, and beautiful view off the back deck for a post round beverage. It's hard to believe this is a public course, with how nice the conditions are maintained. Until next time, Whiskey Creek!

Fantastic experience all around. Staff are top notch and ready to help. Course is challenging and in gorgeous shape. It’s pricy but truly worth every penny. Can’t wait to go back!

Absolutely amazing golf course. Very challenging greens that were in great shape. Challenging course all around kept in great condition. Great pro shop and warm up facilities. Even the starters were cool. 9.5/10 take the speed restrictions off the carts on the down hill slopes. If we die we die.

Fast pace of play and greens. GPS build into carts. Front 9 was more scenic than the back. Will be back again

The course is in phenomenal shape, but whoever was working in the pro shop was not friendly at all. I arrived at 4pm looking for a tee time to play 9 and I knew online there were plenty of times, but the guy inside there wasn't a time until 5:10. I asked if that was really the earliest time and he kept telling me it was even though I mentioned there were earlier times online. I hit balls for 60 minutes only to see 1 group go out the entire time. Idk if he had it out for me or maybe he's racist? I'm not sure, but this one guy in the pro shop really ruined my whole day.

This is a tough course usually in decent condition with an ok staff (instructors not included, they're fantastic).
4:40 round on average on less busy days. I was there recently and told the starter it was slow at the turn and he said they know inside the pro shop. Never saw a marshall and had to wait 5 minutes on every shot the rest of our 2:40 back 9 on a slow Wed. Pace can get up to 6 hours on busy days.
Pin placements are frequently set in ungettable locations for approach shots.
Pins are often on ridges or near the back of a redan green making makeable birdies and par saves tough, especially when there's another quarter acre of green to use.

Beautiful course. Challenging but over the top. Only downfall was the greens were recently airiated. Should have been disclosef and had a lesser rate because of it. Still 5 stars cause i am sure normally this is all top notch.

I played this past summer ('23) and I have to give 5-stars to the staff (and the course)!! An employee found my "Apple Airpods Pro" on the ground somewhere that had fallen out of my pocket and he returned them to the proshop. I live 3 hours away so the Head Pro, Michael Jerolamon, went out of his way to find a box small enough, create a shipping label, and send them back to me! 5-stars to the young man that returned them (we need more kids like this!) and 5-stars to the pro for going out of his way to help.
Prior to any of that happening, this is one of my favorite courses in Maryland! It was in phenomenal shape and I love the private setting not surrounded by homes. Although 18 is a bit quirky, I love it and think it's a great finishing hole! I actually hit the stone wall and got a favorable kick, followed by a great view for a 2nd shot into this par 5 allowing for risk reward opportunities. I realize my kick could have not been as favorable and I would have been scrambling for par, but still a super cool element to have. The clubhouse is very nice, clean, the food was really good, and the staff that day was great. If I were closer I would play here every chance I could get.

Beautiful golf course ! This is my first time playing here and apparently it used to be a private course a few years ago, but they converted it to a public course. There are beautiful homes and beautiful greens and fairways. My only wish is that I had not been playing with the company sponsored group that I was with since everyone was drinking profusely and several drunk people got into a fight on the 10th hole. Leaving that aside, the course itself was incredible, the food at the clubhouse was fantastic, and the staff was very friendly.
My rating system consists of a 3-star being exactly what I expected and neither good nor bad. A 4 means something was extra special whether it was service, food, staff, etc., and a 5 means I was blown away. A 2 star rating was disappointing with no offer to correct the experience and a 1-star rating was terrible

5 NOV.2023 The most amazing service and hospitality ever. I’ll be back here again. The gentleman that greeted me and the young lady Sammie that took over afterwards was fabulous. What an exceptional experience. The energy and ambiance in the morning watching the golfers enjoy themselves and jetting off in the golf carts to embark on a day of golfing enjoyment. Such a beautiful and breathtaking view in every direction.
Between the two Marshall’s Kenny was awesome and very polite and David was super pressured by the manager on the golf course to be sorta harassing and made for a not cool person. It made for a super not good experience.

PB Dye really sets the standard for well maintained course.
You will, in fact, catch yourself staring off, marveling over the fabric of lush fairways, hills and valleys.
There is a lot of undulation that comes with this experience. This is a challenging course. You'll need to stay in the fairway or your par opportunities may be compromised.
The greens were hard and fast. Do not hit down hill here. Up and downs, and chip ons were a challenge as well. The bunkers were clean and didn't pose too much of a threat.
I wasn't a huge fan of their lunch options at the time. I chose a hotdog that came on a pretzel bun. I heard others love it but for me the pretzel just overwhelmed the hotdog itself. Texture was a little off.
Food is secondary to the overall golf experience. We had a great time and will for sure be back.

Played Sunday October 8th, the golf course is absolutely spectacular! A number of improvements have been implemented over the course of the last year which only improve an already magnificent layout. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are in amazing condition. The greens are far superior to anything in the area and the staff are fantastic. By far my favorite course in not only Maryland but also in our neighboring states.

Most beautiful course I've ever played. I don't pretend to have played the most amazing or expensive courses out there but it's hard to imagine it getting much better than this. I'm a high handicap and it's definitely a challenging course but so much fun! Amazing elevation changes and gorgeous tee shots. 🙌😎

Played PB Dye together with a friend from Sweden and had a great time. Nice course, a tough layout, with very tough sloped and ondulated greens, and a few fantastic par 3 holes. Good course to choose strategy if you know the layout.
Unfortunately for our taste, just too many blind tee shots, also the greens were somewhat damaged due to too many players not knowing how to repair divots.
But great service from everyone from the cart guys, starters, and rest of staff. Lots of great courses in the area.

Delighted to be able to post this edit; played PB Dye recently and what a contrast to my review below; the course is in phenomenal shape and is a testament to Chris and his green keeping team. Greens are super fast but run true. Enjoyed my round a lot here, fairways a pleasure to strike from (when we hit them) and the pace of play was good throughout (~4hrs for the round). Highly, highly recommend.

I really wanted to love this course, but ultimately it’s just not in good condition with respect to its peers.
Pros
- Friendly staff
- Greens in good shape, a touch soft and slow which helps given their tricky design
- Some nice holes, 5 is a players hole, 11 is a short par 3 pleasing on the eye, a short par 4 like 10 will always get my vote
Cons
- Fairways and tee boxes are in fairly atrocious condition (see photo). I know we’ve had rain, but this is by a distance in the worst shape out of similar nearby courses (Worthington, Whiskey Creek). There are signs that management are aware so hopefully they’re working on something.
- Pace of play was pretty tragic at times, we got rushed into starting 10 mins early and then had instances of 15 minute tee box waits on 2 separate occasions
- Somewhat tied to the above, this course is too difficult for beginners, of which they have a lot on the course. The $55-70 green fees no doubt precipitate this; it’s probably good value for a beginner but poor value for an intermediate/advanced golfer.
Overall; the layout is good, some great holes. The condition is very poor in spots however and it detracts from the course. I’d recommend management spend less money on ClubCar Tiempos and pay more attention to the course.
**Edit**
The course superintendent reached out directly to me & gave a very thorough breakdown of the challenges this summers weather has presented. It seems the course has been a victim of some localized extreme weather that has had severe impacts on the ability to regenerate & rehab a lot of the turf. I wish Chris & team well in their efforts to combat & reverse the impact of the weather.
