Had a lovely time at the wharf Ice Rink the ice was beautiful and the staff was marvelous especially the young lady with the dreads named Toni
They have a big rink and $6 for skates and prices vary for day, def check their websites they also provide you with helmet if you need at no charge, the staff is really nice.
Nice little rink. The ice quality was not bad for the weather. Beginner friendly. Had a great time!
The hours are terrible. They’re only open five days a week with limited timeframes. And then half the time I go during their operating hours, the rink is closed due to a private event. And when I do manage to get onto the ice, the surface is terrible! One time I went at opening. The ice resurfacing guy didn’t show up for an hour and a half. It had snowed that morning and there were clumps of ice stuck to the surface, which people kept tripping over. Basically, this rink is where influencers go when they want a pretty photo/video. But it’s not really practical beyond that. It’s definitely not worth a $300 season pass when you can barely use it.
Posted they were closing at 6 at like 5:45 while we were already on our way there on the Metro. So we didn't skate and wasted a trip. The ice looked cool. If they used the weather forecast to plan ahead that would be awesome.
Rental skates are super uncomfortable
Love Canal Park ice rink. The staff are very helpful, the figure 8 track is unique and the lights and music create a fun vibe. Wiseguys pizza on site is a bonus.

Not a bad rink because the location on the water with the Christmas lights is a nice vibe, but the condition of the ice wasn't the best bc there were two "ditches" to navigate, and they had cones set up all around the place as a result. The skates were okay...not comfortable but not too painful.
I've been to this rink before and it was great. However, this time, it was awful. Went last session of evening. They are supposed to resurface before each session. They did not resurface before session. Looks like they hadn't resurfaced all day. Ice was all chopped up, rough, and had several deep trenches. Not worth skating on.
Not frozen in May, but a nice fountain in the center of shopping and restaurants right on the waterfront. Easy walking distance (8-10 min) from the Four Seasons.
One of the best magical experiences ever, this was my first time ice skating outdoors The location was beautiful and the rink was pretty well done even though it was a bit crowded. Employees were able to handle the crowd well and treated everyone kindly. I had an amazing time there, it's a nice outdoor ice skate rink.
During my summer course in undergrad, I had the chance to visit the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden Ice Rink, and it was a unique experience.
Despite the fact that it wasn't very crowded at the time of our visit, there were still several kids climbing on the sculptures, which was a bit annoying, especially considering there were signs asking people not to climb on them.
However, the sculptures were fascinating to look at. It was a great opportunity to see some interesting art in a new and unique way. Additionally, the picturesque surroundings of the garden made for a great photo opportunity.

Good ice quality is a reasonable price and a nice place. But the skates are so old and dirty, I don't know what they do with them, I usually rent skates during traveling, but never seen them in such bad condition...
We always enjoy our annual visit for my birthday on Christmas Eve to the sculpture garden ice rink. This year it was double-digits so we opted for another day. Today was a beautiful day for ice skating with 🌞 and in the 40's. They resurfaced the ice consistently.
It was my first time and it’s a great place to go with friends. Had lots of fun 🤩 will definitely go again
Such an amazing rink. The views of the water & decor make for a beautiful scene. Rink staff is friendly & kind, I rented a skate aid and the staff walked it down to the ice for me! I have been to outdoor rinks before, and this ice is so smooth, a Zamboni came out to resurface the ice regularly. Plus there was always a skate guard on the ice to keep the ice fun and safe for everyone. Very family friendly, will definitely be back!
Neat place with a neat ice rink. However the shoes are not always the best and the ones I received after couple exchanges were still pretty bruising. They have availability of rental shoes so fine to visit anytime during weekday

This is a neat place to take a walk and see some unique pieces of art! The only downside is that it’s almost all in the sun, so it’s super hot in the summer. The good thing is that there are benches, public restrooms, and a cafe.

Definitely worth a visit! The rink is pretty small, but we didn't have to wait to start skating on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Also, they seem to run out of lockers so keep that in mind. Probably the most scenic option for skating around DC, surrounded by the sculpture garden and Smithsonian's etc. Another plus - the beer etc sold at the sculpture garden pavilion is well below average cost of a drink in DC!
There are a handful of ice rinks in Washington, D.C.- this one, Canal Park, Georgetown Waterfront and National Gallery of Art's Sculpture Garden. We've been to all three and here's how this one ranks:
1) Views: Compared to the others, this one offers beautiful views of the waterfront and the Washington Monument peeking out from the buildings. The Sculpture Garden's rink has a stunning view of the National Archives, but this one is even more stunning, especially with the holiday decorations.
2) Price: This one is $15-$18 per person for admission and skate rentals. $6 for a "helper" for kids. (Sculpture Garden is $14-$15, Georgetown is $16-$17 and Canal Park is $15-$16 per person.)
3) Amenities: There are public restrooms onsite and plenty of dining options nearby, including a s'more trailer with a fire pit. For hot chocolate, several options exist, but we enjoyed the thick hot chocolate from Praline Bakery near the Canopy.

Cute rink but bad customer service and inaccurate hours of operation. The rink “sells out” of skates very quickly and stops renting out skates (when stocked) at around 7PM. Unless you plan to go as soon they open or you decide to wait an unknown period of time, you likely will not be able to enter. I have tried to go on two different occasions within a few days, hours before closing, and was refused entry/rental both times. We ran into several other people while leaving who experienced the same.
In previous years, this rink was great, but they are not operating their best since the pandemic began. Would advise going to Georgetown rink instead

The only time I was able to skate at this rink was when I went around opening time, at 11AM. That’s the only reason I am rating one star. Any other time at night, I was turned away on multiple occasions. They always say that they’re sold out even if I’m there hours before their listed times. Misleading and unprofessional, especially since skaters were leaving as I had requested for a rental AND the person directly in front of me was able to get skates. There’s no structure or consistency in this rink’s operation. Save yourself the trip and go elsewhere!
Very expensive. 60$ for 1 adult and 3 kids plus skate rentals. Rink is small. Nice ambiance though. Beautiful place for photos. I like that you're not given only a few hours to skate, you get to stay as long as you want.
Pretty cool ice skating riink down at Washington Harbor. It costs 10 dollars for adults and 9 dollars for kids and the rental of skates is 6 dollars. The rink is cool because it has the large tower in the middle but the ice was bad. The zamboni didn't the clean the ice very well and there were a lot of nicks and ice clumps/bumps so the kids took a bunch of falls. Overall it was pretty good though.

DC is just classy. The buildings, the people, the stations and that extends to this nice skating rink in Georgetown. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas. That being said, it costs $24 for 45 minutes, which is just a huge rip-off, although I can't say I was surprised.
