So happy i found this rink! Great place to practice rollerskating during the summer. Drop in hours are good & staff is super helpful when you call. Ppl there are friendly and respectful.
Wonderful rink! Summer nights rollerblading watching derby girls practice. Music pumping and lights it’s really a great way to spend an evening outdoors

Always a great time. The ice is usually horrifically bumpy but it’s part of the experience. I enjoy it as much as I can while we still can
I discovered this place by accident. What a jewel. I'm planning on doing some ice time here. I posted the schedule. Their is on-site parking. Easy access to rink. The benchs are near the rink to suit up. Can't wait to log in some skate time.

This is an incredible experience that our family from Buffalo has repeatedly made a winter trek to. We’ve lucked out that it’s been open each of our stays but we know weather can throw a curveball. Ottawa is a friendly and welcoming city with much to do. We’ve usually been there for Winterlude and Family Day and skate the canal and then walk to places to eat or museums. We look forward to Beaver Tail skate breaks in the future!
Kids weren’t listening to their parents and were playing hockey when they weren’t allowed.

Rink was nice but would be better with side boards and skating aids.
This year it was open again for several weeks!!!

Great place. Like going back in time and skating in the early 1900s.

It's a nice sized rink, but expect the ice to be very much scratched up. They do not smooth the ice regularly. If you are planning to go in the evening, keep in mind that some of the gates are closed and you may have to take a detour to the car from a different exit.
Anyone whos complaining about crowding is because they went at 12 or 6, its basically empty the rest of the time, only real criticism is the lack of barriers and they turn the lights off too early

Wondering if you could update the opening hours on google?
It’s deceiving when you read it’s open 24 hours per day.

Other than that, it’s an amazing place to visit!
Great to have a rink like this close by. Free to use with great activities like family hockey. Ice isn’t as good as an indoor arena but still a lot better than the canal.
Good experience but please resurface the ice it’s ridiculous
Great place unfortunately the last times when I come between 5 -7 pm weekdays their are kids out of control they need supervision here . It's hard for people just trying to enjoy a skate

One of the last outdoor rinks left in Ottawa. Professionally (as in paid workers) operated. Limited availability due to weather/climate. Free of charge to book!
Beautiful surroundings. Wonderful ice surface.

People should be made more aware through signage of the nice facility for changing their skates. The signs may lead one to think it may have a different use.

To the skate lovers, the skating rink in Lansdowne is officially opened! They open the light at the night. Let's goooo!
Years ago, I used to be able to go there by car, then park on the lawn for Canada Day celebrations. They used to give out quick sandwiches and drinks as well. These days are gone after 9/11, but they could make use of the cricket field as I believe that not many people play cricket there. Skating is always welcome.
There's the Blue Boi benches in the back of the rink that are guuuudddd 4 sk9. We slip N slide N I tried to tre flip a lip gap but NO DICE. There were mad chill basketball homies killing it on the court, and it was hype af.

I will tell you more another day, as this review has come to an end

SKATEBOARDING
Excellent family fun...make sure to check out the website to find out skating conditions
This place is awesome. The people are friendly, and I've had some good conversations. The staff are excellent at their jobs, and they too seem very nice. The ice is clean, clear and smooth. I'd definitely recommend this place for both a simple skate, or some good old pickup hockey.
Lovely on winter. I’ve been watching people skating there for 3 years now. This is just down Mckenzie King bridge. Lovely.
Great community run ice rink!

Amazing place for ice skating
This rink is impossibly small----hard to find a space to even skate! The staff are usually nowhere to be seen, and on the rare occasion they are, they're on their phones. The ice between the heated change hut and the rink itself is absolutely preposterous.
It's a great addition to the community and supports the neighbouring Brian Kilrea (formerly Canterbury arena). The ice surface is a little small and the ice is ok, but then again it is an outdoor arena. The city spent a lot of money on it. I think it would have been better to have spent a little more money on it and have the arena fully enclosed, that way there would be more ice in a properly controlled environment available all year round for the community. Also want to say thanks to Jim Tubman Chevrolet Sens for their support

Great location ,close to the Rideau Canal where you can skate during winter
Great atmosphere and fantastic staff. I look forward to coming here each year and am never disappointed.
The Rideau Hall skating rink is open to the public Saturday and Sunday afternoons. There’s a beautiful woodstove-warmed hut to put your skates on in and a knowledgeable guide to tell you about history of the house and grounds. The ice is refrigerated and zamboni maintained so it’s usually in great shape
Free skates most afternoons and the rink is reasonably busy after schools and on weekends. Neighborhood rink is well policed and filled with families. Big parking lot, but most people are from the surrounding neighborhood. Pick up games most nights are welcoming to new players.
It was a very fun evening that we will most definitely do again. The guide was awesome and very friendly. Unfortunately is was a mild day outside so the ice was not at it's greatest. Parking was also not well indicated. The washrooms were nice and clean.

Such a beautiful rink and change hut! I haven't been on the weekends, apparently open to the public 12-5. Google Rideau Hall skating to confirm hours. The rink attendant advised me it can get very busy on nicer days.
This is a beautiful rink situated right behind the Governor General's residence. Admission is free. Wish I had come more often this last winter. There is a very nice Cabana/sports museum that is perfect for getting skates on or off. The rink is usually very well maintained, and nice music plays during the day that make this rink a fun experience. Last time we were there we saw a wild Fox.
What a great rink. Outdoors, beside the historic Aberdeen pavilion on one side and the equally historic Rideau canal on the other.

The venue is wonderful and not too crowded. Bathroom facilities are available at nearby restaurants.

Since the ice surface is cooled, it is not as susceptible to weather conditions.

Bring a toque, some mittens and a big smile!
