Douglaston caterer and golf course is a nice place to eat, drink and dance. We were there of a lunch dance party which was beautiful and memorable occasion for the day.

Short but good for practicing irons.
Looks like everyone here for same reason, hitting 2 balls sometimes but the pacing is good.
Some greens is fun but too slow...hope it can improve.
Be prepared for a 5.5 hour round on a course that is absolute GARBAGE! I am a golf addict and love the game! With that said, If for some reason "Forest Park Golf Course" was the only course I could play for the rest of my life, I would, without hesitation, throw my clubs in to the trash. It was a MISERABLE 5.5 hours that I'll never get back.
A beautiful little public NYC course. Each hole is tricky in its own way. No par 5s. Tough greens. Some of the tee boxes are a mess but the rest of the course is really well maintained. Well done.
Played October 12th, 2023

Nice track, a great scoring opportunity for better golfers and a relatively easy place to get better at the game.

Forest Park is your average city course. At just over 6,000yds from the back tees, it is shorter in length than what you find at a normal course.

A major issue which appears to be *finally* being addressed is the tee boxes. On many holes, it has literally been dirt for many years. However, beautiful looking tees with fresh sod are just a few weeks away from being ready to play!

The greens were not exactly in the best condition they could be. They were not blown or rolled on this visit, so they were rather slow and bumps seemed to be normal. If you play a lot of rolled greens, they are painfully slow.

Pace of Play was reasonable. About a 4 hour 15 minute round. Weekend times are known to get out of hand, so just beware.

For $52 plus a $40 cart (split two ways), it is an okay price if you don’t want to travel far to play.
Very enjoyable experience. I brought my partner to play. She hates golf and hates when I talk about golf, but even she had fun. Notes: if you bring your own clubs, only bring a sand wedge/54 and a putter. No other clubs needed. Also, bring some speakers and, if you're cheap, your own drinks.
Course is a complete dump. $80+ for unputtable greens that look like they’ve never been touched by a grounds crew. Pace of play was atrocious took 6 hours for 18. Seriously don’t play here
Nice layout. Except course is in horrible condition. Some of the greens are un-puttable.

Numerous tee boxes under construction. The whole course feels like there is clay right below your feet.

The rangers also have no clue what they are doing. 5 hour round.

It was our first time playing in here but it’s been popular among many (local) golfers for nicely maintained, entertaining and some challenging holes. Total 5071 yards for Blue tees, 7 holes of par 3, 9 of par 4, & 2 of par 5.
Great place just to relax and hit a Few balls the staff is always friendly They do a pretty good job of maintaining the greens.
I really like this city course. They've currently got a couple of the tee boxes roped off as they're doing work, which I view as a good sign. There are some times where you'll go and play some long rounds - particularly on weekends but if you can get out in the morning or early afternoons, it's great time. All in all, i'm glad that i've got this course in my backyard.
I've been here several times in the last 10 years or so with my most recent visit being in August of 2023. The course is short with only par 3s and 4s. A couple of the par 3s are tricky with pretty big elevation changes. Other than that, this makes for a great beginner/intermediate course which is easy to walk.

I've had a variety of rounds here with one that took 5 hours in the middle of the day. However, my most recent visit was a treat. I was able to play 18 holes in under 3 hours, playing mostly alone. The course was in fantastic shape - fairways were plush and the greens playing true.

Overall good place to play if you're looking for a more laid back vibe or trying to introduce someone to the sport.
Wish Google has minus star ratings.
Men have to play from the red tee because the blue and white tee boxes are under construction (forever). Greens have weed growing. Other groups just pick up your golf ball and steal it. Ranger just sits around and does nothing.
Had low to no expection coming here and they managed somehow beat it.
Great, low-stress pitch and putt. The greens are not as well maintained and the longest holes is 80 yards.
Its like bethpage black but 100x worse. Everyones watching on the first tee but it’s because they’re backed up 2 hours.
I will never play this course again. The crew was rude, the course was swarmed with thousands of hornets, and the tee boxes were under construction in the middle of July without a warning.

It’s one thing if the tee boxes are under construction, but they didn’t even fix up any area to tee off. Course was destroyed as well. Never again.
First time playing here, and was surprised to see how great of shape the course was in. It's short in yardage, but plenty of challenging holes with hidden greens, and elevation changes to keep you on your toes. Can't wait to come back - maybe not during the hottest week in human history this time.
PSA: At least half the tee boxes are under construction, making the course probably play 5500, or less. Greens are VERY SLOW. We waited on every shot, every hole, but because the course is playing so short, managed to finish in 4.5 hours.
Golf course is nice but I have a huge complaint about how my family and I were treated on this trip, on the day of my Birthday. After arriving early for our Reserved Tee time, we were continuously rushed, even though we were early and it wasn’t our time to hit the course yet. Once it was our time to hit the course, an employee (who checked us in) demanded that a group (who was late for their reserved time) go before us because their reserved time was before ours. We did not want to make big of the situation so we let it go. Then one it was our turn, in the middle of our hits off the tee, the same employee (who checked us in) continued to rush us along while we were hitting stating “We have to move it along because there are other people who actually know how to play this game that need to go”. My family are proud Puertoricans (light and dark) and were the only group that was given this treatment. Every other group before and after us were given their space and time to Tee up and play their game. This experience started off feeling discriminated by this employee (who checked us in) and his colleagues who stood around and agreed with him. After explaining to the employee that his behavior and the treatment he gave us was uncalled for as my Family and I watch golf and actually play it for fun, but apparently we did not look the part to this employee. After that discussion we continued throughout the course and had a good time, trying to shake off that very unwelcoming start. I will never come here again and wouldn’t recommend it to any of my family and peers as we are all people of color.
Was in town for work and had to organize a small golf outing with colleagues. So many public courses to choose from, but glad we chose Douglaston! Course is in fantastic shape especially for a public course. Greens are in great shape, most of the tee boxes as well. No issues renting clubs there. They have food at the turn. Round was 4.5 hours on a Friday morning, but that is the norm around here I think. Would recommend!
I play pairs Sunday on the course is not worth $85 at best $55 or $60, The greens, tee boxes and fairways were in really bad shape who ever is in charge is doing a terrible job,, oh and when you park your car have $3. Ready to pay the starter at the lot is a joke will never go back
Really good golf course that is a great place to bring your kids to.
Easy fun course in the heart of queens’ great prices. The staff is friendly and the game moves along. Been many times and will always return !

My home course and my favorite. The track is always in great shape, even in the winter off season the course is in better than average shape. Pace of play is about 4 - 4 1/2 hours. Course is not long, but a lot of up and down terrain. Both par 5’s are fun to play. And the par 3’s all have their own challenges. Douglaston is a cool fun course to play. Check it out.
Intimate and compact golf course. 18 holes offered. Most are Par 2, or 3. City park, so greens conditions can vary. Easy landscaping. Nice views of nearby Citifield, USTA Tennis center. Mini golf course on site. Informal. Not too crowded, Senior rates offered. Near public transportation.
Really fun spot to practice the short game. Casual and relaxed vibes. Also fun to play at night. The pace can be a bit slow but at times but still fun nonetheless.
Friendly and helpful staff, a nice place to spend time playing mini golf or pitch and putt. Prices are decent, the place is clean and if you are new to the game you shouldn't be afraid to try it, all are welcome.
Forest Park was my first time golfing in New York. I am coming from South Carolina and I golfed there a good bit.

I am a 10 handicap in SC and I shot an 87 on my first time for reference.

Forest Park is a very short course, with two drivable par 4's and a par 5 on 18 that will leave you 100 yards from the green with a halfway decent drive. The fairways are very narrow and the OVERHANGING TREES are definitely be a strategic obstacle! If you want to score low, you need keep the ball low. The grass is a little long, fairways could be cut a little shorter and the greens are a little fuzzy.

It sometimes feels like a shooting range rather than a golf course, one of my playing partners getting hit with a ball and my cart getting grazed around three times. People are all over the place, and the average skill level is extremely low. One random partner scored 90s, the other two scored 100s easily. You will hear fore being yelled all day.

Pace of play is very fast and the flow is actually pretty efficient despite how busy it is. I kinda like that, although I think it might be a little calmer with less people. I went on the weekend, so there's that.

Is it a challenge? For a par 70 course, yes! It tested my driving accuracy, irons, and chipping. A texas wedge out of the greenside rough here is impossible, you have to chip it at a very steep angle. The bunker on hole one has a fly problem, but the other bunkers are actually really fluffy. There's also a few elevated greens that give you a blind shot into the pin, pretty cool!

I can't wait to go back and work on my game here. I think Forest Park, despite it's admitted flaws, could be a great place to improve as a golfer or maybe just get introduced to this wonderful game.
Love Forest Park gold course. It is very challenging for a course so close to Manhattan. Very challenging with trees all around. I love walking it. Makes for a great work out. Everyone is super nice at the clubhouse
Great course for a beginner golfer. Not overwhelming with hazards but challenging. Stop by and say hello to the beer girl. It was another Amazing day at Kissena.
The course was beautifully maintained, I had great day. The sunset view when we finished, says it all.
Loved the lessons from the starter on the weekend. It was a great time. Wish they had the beer cart on the trun around at the 8th whole, had to run back for more. Can't wait to go back Awesome time. Even getting my son into it......
Beautiful day today and Beautiful course to play. This course is well maintained , clean and have Beautiful views. Fairways and greens are nice. Golf cards are clean. Staff is very nice and helpful. It's very busy but no wait, golfers moving with good time.
Refreshment cart making trips to all holes.
Clubhouse is nice, so is bar. Restrooms are clean. Will be back to play another round here.
Easy going course. A few people around, gets packed on the back 9 as the courses play next to each other. Only a couple of water hazards, otherwise no real traps. Course has a fair bit of water logging, but only one or two greens are impacted. Great casual course.

First time playing this course so i went for an early morning 9 hole outing and had great time. They put is on the back 9 and every hole presented a good challenge to different aspects of my game. I love a good challenging course and this one has it, Uphill Par 3, Downhill par 3. Tree lined dogleg R uphill Par 4 sloping from left to Right!!! The Greens were well maintained and most had some challenging hills. This place is great if you like challenging your skill level and want to up your level of play! I would not recommend the back 9 for beginners "Marine Park" would be better suited for you as it is a more forgiving course. The only delays were due to the Greens keepers doing their jobs ( I welcome those guys ) this plCe has nice nature sightings too! There was a small FOX who followed us from the 11 to the 13th hole ( he kept his distance and so did we! The Greens keeper says he's a regular and doesn't bother anyone. All in All I will frequent Kissenna golf ⛳......its my new favorite flavor of the month!!
Pretty good course. Lots of variations thru out per hole. The course will definitely test your accuracy off the tee box, whether you decide to use your driver, woods, hybrids, any irons or wedges. Putting greens were either extremely slow or fast, so it was hard to gauge a decent stroke, but then, I'm not a consistent player.
It was a fun golf outing, so, there in lies the beauty of Kissena Park Golf Course (by the way, keep your eyes open to the wild animals roaming thru the holes).
A great course whose layout offers a few challenges. However, due to its popularity, you will encounter long waits. Best time to start is literally at the top of the day. I played this in late February and it was well maintained. We encountered a 30-minute frost delay, but overall, it was not bad. If you book via the American Golf website or via Clearview Park GC, you will receive a lunch and a drink voucher with your play—I have not had the opportunity to enjoy this as I booked via GolfNow. Parking was free, but I was told during spring to fall seasons, there is a parking fee (not sure of the cost). The clubhouse has a barebones pro-shop and a bar that serves beers and other beverages—it also has a few tables to enjoy your meals/drinks post-round. Overall, a good experience, but I hesitated giving five stars due to customer service—need improvement in the friendly department.
Couple of tricky holes so enough of a challenge without being overly difficult. Well kept greens and fairways, shaggy rough but not too long. Nicely placed sand and water traps.
A great venue! Truly a gem of the GolfNYC group (Van Cortland GC, Kissena Park GC, and Forest Park GC, are the others). I played on a gorgeous Sunday, so it did play a little long (5-hrs), but usually, you can round this course in 4-hrs.

This is a short, yet challenging course. The entire facility is well maintained with friendly staff. Ed and Jason at the front desk were extremely helpful, and the starters were very attentive, as well. The rangers made sure the players moved at a good pace.

They have a decent snack bar with hot dogs, sandwiches, and drinks fully stocked--all at reasonable prices. The parking lot has a charge of 3$, which is normal at most GolfNYC venues.

All in all, a great course with fantastic landscapes and challenging holes! A must play course!

ALSO, a bit of an inconvenience, however, it’s the club’s policy: you have to give a piece of (state/city) ID when you get a cart key; just DON’T FORGET TO RETRIEVE IT WHEN YOU RETURN THE CART KEY!
Great, challenging (narrow, and short) course! Public course, yet has a nice charm to it--very reminiscent of Dunwoodie GC (Yonkers, NY). Friendly staff, free parking, clean, and well maintained throughout. A weekend 9AM start usually lasts 4-4.5-hrs.
