We used to go to moti mahal quite a bit when we lived close by but haven’t gone in a couple of years. It did not disappoint!! We ordered paneer pakoras, lamb boons, chicken vindaloo, garlic naan and coconut rice. All were super tasty and large portion sizes. The price was great too especially with how good everything was and the amount we got. We will be back again very soon!!
An absolutely amazing experience... we tried the power veggie pho and the spring rolls and dumplings as starters. Our hostess for the evening, Ariana, was so helpful in helping me choose the best of their extensive vegan menu. The service was excellent and super quick. Will definitely be coming back again!

Amazing place for vegans and vegetarians (power veggie pho is a must try if you like thukpa!)

Food was good, but the portions are very small for the prices they charge. I see many other reviewers have called this out. Hopefully, the owners are listening.
July 24, Dine In - Dinner

Chicken Vepudu : appetizer, not very appetizing - mostly a tomato based chicken roast. To say this was tasty is only cause the other dishes were so sub par.
Lamb Meatball Curry : tried very hard to identify what the flavour is to the curry, but couldn’t. Seemed like a generic curry pasty with lamb balls in it. Very hard to eat, couldn’t waste either since it’s lamb.
Mixed Veg Korma : not a korma since the tinge/taste of cashew paste was missing. Most veggies are Costco naught pre cut, cauliflower/potato were restaurant prepped.
Gluten free bread (just a variation of plain dosa+utthapam) : true the the name, would recommend over naan and good for curries.

Not sure the high rating, must be people who stick to the safe option of Dosa - which I will assume they do good. We generally try other items not popular in reviews to give the restaurant a holistic review - if not for the dosas I would give this restaurant a pass.
Our favorite restaurant! The vietnamese subs have ruined all other subs for me, they are the most amazing blend of flavor, veggies, and proteins. The lemongrass tofu sub is my favorite.

Also, as a vegetarian I love the amount of options here. I have brought numerous friends here, and we have always enjoyed our meals.

Try them out, you will not be disappointed!
Food 2 ⭐️
We ordered the idly-vada combo, MB special dosa & Rava masala dosa. The sambhar-chutney alongside each item was extremely poor. Though the idly was soft and fluffy, the vada were uncooked from the inside when we explained this to our server, she said she will replace but then “forgot” about it. The stuffing in both the dosa was super less, if you are pricing a dosa at $14-15 you need to ensure you provide food that matches the price you’re asking.

Service 1⭐️
The service was extremely, we waited nearly 20mins for idly-vada to arrive and then another 20mins for the dosa to arrive and we dint go there at a super busy time. We dined in at a super less peak hour on a Sunday around 3pm.

Because of inadequate quantity of food and extremely slow service I will not be returning here again.
After so many years of trying different Indian restaurants, I can confidently write a detailed review of the what we tried in this restaurant but I will save you the headache and the details, instead I just recommend that you try their food, and highly recommend that you taste their soups.
Our experience at Masala Bhavan exceeded expectations! Despite being in a rush, the service was exceptional, thanks to Anjali who ensured our food was served promptly and with a smile. The Masala Mysore Dosai was a highlight, bursting with flavor and perfectly crispy. Alongside, we indulged in a side of soft, fluffy idli and a steaming bowl of comforting Manchow soup. A delicious meal made even better by the efficient and friendly service. Highly recommended for a quick and satisfying dining experience!
Amazing food, great service. The place could be cleaner though. Noticed stains on the wall and dust collecting in places that should be wiped. Otherwise this is a place you must try.

Overall not traditional. Student discount.
Personally wouldn’t go there for pho but other options are better!Definitely prefer the banh mi over pho.

Pho to me was more on the cinnamon side but lacked depth of the beefy rich flavour. Felt like it was missing seasoning, tasted very watered down. Overall pho was a decent portion but for the price there are better options.

The banh mi on the other hand was very juicy, soft yet crunchy bread and big portion, but again for the price I would say it was fair. The meat had so much flavour and was consistent.

The vibes amazing place!
Service was top notch, kept asking me if I needed water when empty. Very nice person to talk to and made sure things were clean.
Not worth the money and the Service is very dull.
The servers should suggest actively about their dishes and taste.

Chicken Vindaloo does not even taste like even a south indian chicken nor the Dosas . Sambhar was like boling water.

Only Chicken Vedupa has some unique taste.
we went to this place when it was raining outside a lot, and we felt so hungry, and this place was the first restaurant that we saw on google maps. the food was overall good, but to be honest, for me, the noodle was a little too bland, and could’ve used more salt. the rice that my bf got me was actually surprisingly good, even though i got mad at him for getting fried rice and a pho restaurant…. the server accidentally spilled the hot noodle soup on my bf a little, but she cleaned it afterwards. the atmosphere is so clean, and quiet, and beautiful.

there’s no parking space that we are aware of, so we just parked beside the safeway fence, and paid $2 for the parking.

overall it was 4/5 because the food could’ve been great, but maybe this is because i’ve been to other pho restaurant and the first places i’ve been to has left the great impact on me, and nothing could match that place again. 🤍

It was probably 20 years ago since I last visited this restaurant. The quality seemed to have unchanged in the best way. Food was still super delicious and the service was attentive. We were a party of 9 and they were able to accommodate and none of those 18% gratuity because of the large group. Pretty happy about that.

Had out bellies full, split 9 ways and only came up 23 dollars per person, where do you find a deal like this these days? Mind you we didn't drink alcohol so take it for what it's worth.

Highly recommend.
We hadn’t been for a few years and it was nice to remember that this place is here, and should be visited more often. It’s so tasty! Love the butter chicken, the lamb, the naan and the coconut rice! The service was friendly and a couple other people came over too to make sure we were enjoying the food. Just a solid place that’s been around forever and deserves a visit every now and then!
I have gone to this place throughout the years. It’s good and I like their curry noodle soup quite a bit. I also tried their banh mi sub grilled beef spicy and it’s good as well.

It’s expansive for a sandwich though
So authentic & mix of north/south Indian flavours…. Tried their chef special meal and veg biriyani!! Both the dishes are good and hygiene ✌🏼

Decent food, not the best Viet cuisine I’ve had. Has good portions, a student discount and very good service. However the food has its oddities; for example I ordered the Beef Satay Pho with Peanut, and it just had a lump of peanut butter placed in the broth, instead of being a cohesive mixture. The atmosphere was also lovely as it was modern and relatively quiet for conversations with companions.
Ordered delivery for first time and the food came fast and hot except for the Lemon chicken soo gai. The chicken was rubbery and not very tasty I was so disappointed. Also the pork ribs with black bean sauce was a miss. The pork was also rubbery and tough to eat. The other 2 items I ordered were the house special chow mein and the shrimp fried rice which were pretty good. No complaints with those. Unfortunately I cannot eat 2 out of 4 dishes as the.meat was all tough and rubbery. I will not be ordering from them again. Sorry I tried. I will stick to my regular Chinese restaurants even if they are further away.
The lady there is rude, and even with an order of over $100, she says there’s a charge for hot sauce! Also, when they’re busy with take out orders (this place is basically a kitchen with a front desk, so no dine-in option, she rolls her eyes when you ask for hot sauce, chopsticks, or anything extra. Very rude. The guy who sometimes works the front desk is provides great customer service, on the contrary. Food is great, and good portion size for the price.
We enjoy coming to this restaurant for their authentic Indian food, especially South Indian Cuisine dishes. We will order their set lunch sometimes because it’s reasonably priced and our favourite is Tandoori Chicken & Chicken Khorma Rice set served with steamed rice or butter naan. They even have different dishes for different days of the week. We enjoyed the food very much and definitely can taste all the fresh spices and ingredients used. Our other favourite dishes were Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Lamb Vindaloo and Briyani Rice with Lamb and Curry. Also love their delicious idlis, vadas, papadums, gulab jamun and dosai.
This place has never disappointed me . I always order delivery. The special fried rice is great. Ginger beef is always on point. And the general Tao chicken is spicy good and i ask them to make it extra spicy. 😋 it is my favorite . I recommend it.
I have been vomiting with bad diarrhea since Friday when I ordered beef and broccoli, chicken chow mein and chicken fried rice. I can not keep even water down and forget solid food. Not sure which dish did this but it's the only thing I ate all day. I'd say the beef if a had to guess it tasted off. Chicken also tasted old so may be that also. You have caused me a very serious case of food poisoning, ruined my weekend and plans with family... and I paid you for this? Worst experience of my lifetime (I'm 48 years old), never have I been this sick from anything, what are you guys doing back there. Health inspectors will be notified, would you like to hear from my lawyer as well? Never had this issue in the past, clearly things have gone downhill, NEVER AGAIN!!! Ridiculous, do better!

Authentic and delicious. The only time this restaurant makes me cry is that they are not open 24/7. I have been enjoying western Chinese food for my whole life. This place is one of the best I've ever had. And they are so friendly and professional. Excellent. I don't have any pictures of the food because I am a normal person who does not photograph their food. I've included some other photos that I took so you can believe I'm a real human. Or not. Up to you. Who even knows nowadays? At the end of the day, this place rules and I love their food so I'm writing this review.

I recently had my first order pick up at the Bannister location and thought to myself I should try this place out and I finally decided to Try it out, all I can say was excellent service! Delicious food! My husband isn’t a big fan of noodles at all but he finished what I couldn’t finished because it was a big portion, not that I’m complaining at all. I Ordered the teriyaki box which was absolutely delicious Highly recommend this place also I love the note that they put in the bag. 😊 My new favourite place 😊

My noodle box was soup. Not sure why they didn't add more zucchini noodles or simply not serve me soup. The shrimp wasn't over cooked but that was the only pleasant aspect of my meal. I ordered both chicken and shrimp but I font know where the chicken was only found 2 or 3 small pieces. My partner and I both ordered mild medium dishes. Mine was not too spicy but my partners dish was almost inedible due to the spice level. We received a $5 coupon for our next order at this location when we psid for our meals, that should have been my tip off.
i order at doordash. I loved the egg fo young, very big portion. and the kids loved the chicken wings. i'll make sure to order again or visit the restaurant.

First time at this location, excellent service! Ordered 2 Thai style noodle boxes which were delicious. Asked for plain noodles on the side for my 1 year old (as she could not eat ours due to the spice) and they gave us a perfect little portion for her to eat for no extra charge! Highly recommend

This place is amazingly delicious! I live in Seattle but am travelling through Canada. I thought I wouldn't find any good Asian food here but happily I was wrong! Their food was every bit as good as what I find in Seattle. And SUPER fast!! Definitely recommend and I hope I get to try another delicious item soon! I had the spicy peanut noodle box with chicken. Maybe the Cambodian or Thai box next time?

ordered the chicken general tao for pickup through their online site. website said the order would be ready in 22 minutes. I arrived to pick it up in 30minutes and it wasn't ready. There was a few people there waiting for their food as well. Overall wait time was about 45minutes so DOUBLE THE WAIT TIME. The food was edible but not so tasty to me.
As a Vietnamese, this restaurant did a great job serving the traditional Bun Bo Hue. My friend ordered Pho Sate and she enjoyed it.
The price could be a bit high for students, but considering the location and service, it's worth it. Overall, it's a pleasant experience.
Went in there for a bowl of soup ended up coming out with a ton of appetizers and they were all just delicious really enjoyed the wings a lot and next time I go there I'll probably just stick to the salt and pepper wings myself thanks myself. I had a Vietnamese beef stew soup and it was just delicious the meat was very ample no complaints there and the broth was quite tasty. I didn't see much on the saute side of things but I will try it again will definitely be back
Excellent Food! The service was quite slow!! I tried the "Mix Vegetable" and "Mix Veg Platter," both of which were tasty and spicy. I'd recommend it, but I'd also suggest that the restaurant improve their customer service.

Tried this for the first time today, and they exceeded expectations.
Great quantity, loved that they have different spice levels to select from. The noodels are flavourful and I love that they put in a generous amout of protein not just a few pieces for name sake. Loved it and will definitely try again and recommend.
One star less as they are quite pricey.

Must try - Combodian chicken noodles
This is a great little neighbourhood gem! Tiny little restaurant in a strip mall, with pick up/take out/delivery only, but don't judge a book by its cover... I was so impressed by how consistently good all the dishes were..some of the best Chinese I've had in Calgary!

I ordered for pickup, and it was ready in 15 minutes. It was all super fresh, hot and tasty, with generous portions. The lemon chicken, salt and pepper squid and ginger beef were all so crispy and crunchy. Nice tender veggies and beef in the beef and broccoli, and both the chow mein and chicken fried rice were very flavourful.

Definitely recommend!

One of the best Indian restaurant we’ve tried so far! Certainly in Top 3 in the city! The place gets full really quick at evening so be prepared and reserve ahead of time. There were lots of parking spot outside and it’s really close to 17ave party district. The staff at Moti are amazing and highly attentive to our needs and inquiries. We ordered the Moti Platter, Garlic Naan, Paratha bread and Chicken tikka Masala. Moti platter is basically a mix of tandoori meats (chicken, lamb, beef) with spicy red sauce, served over a sizzling iron plate. It was a bit spicy but Super Delicious!! Best eaten with the Naan bread. Chicken Tikka Masala was perfect too! Not too spicy and best served with extra onion and jalapeños on the side. I also tried their Indian Lager Beer (King Fisher) and it was refreshingly good after a long day! Definitely coming back here!!
The food and vibe of Moti Mahal are very unique. We had the pakoras as a starter. The main course of chicken tikka masala, seekh kebab, palak, lamb masala, biryani and naan. The portions are smaller but filling and are meant for sharing. A must try dining experience.
Moti Mahal has been my regular restaurant for quality Indian food. I have been going to this place for around 7 years now and the quality and service hasn't changed in that time. It's a family run business by one of the kindest and most accommodating families that I have had the pleasure of meeting.
