We were eager to try a new vegan restaurant so we chose this one because we were in the area. When we walked in there was a “Karen” complaining about her order but we just chuckled and didn’t think much of it. Wait staff was polite and punctual, but we did have to ask for a forgotten item from our order. I ordered the tofu and home fries with a fruit cup, bf ordered French toast with blueberries. Our food was brought out fast, but it didn’t look like anything I would choose if I saw it beforehand. My plate was a collage of brown and black cubes and mush. I tried it anyway and was immediately disappointed- I knew what Karen was talking about. The tofu seemed to be seasoned with only salt and burnt edges. I tried to mix it with the potatoes to help stunt the salt burn on my tongue, but the potatoes were so burned that it was difficult to find a piece that was big enough. I really tried to eat it because I don’t like wasting food, but even adding fruit from my fruit cup wasn’t enough. Oh, and I added honey to both items, but again, it wasn’t enough to overpower the salt. As for my bf’s French toast he said it was like rubbery eggs wrapped around the plainest bread ever, with absolutely no seasoning (cinnamon, nutmeg, etc.) I did appreciate that they offered oat milk, rather than only soy, as an alternative for my coffee, but that is the only positive thing I can say about the whole experience.

Great old-school vegetarian spot focused on simple ingredients rather than veggie 'meats'. Their coffee is great, their Yogi tea is great and the breakfast vegetables and tofu + tahini sauce is one of my top 5 meals anywhere!

My fave restaurant in Seattle! Food is delicious and filling, and I love the light, airy ambiance. The Vegan Highlander is a must; I've never had more flavorful and well-seasoned tempeh!

This place was such a refreshing experience. I can’t believe I didn’t come here before! It’s cozy, food is amazing, staff is super friendly. A treat for vegetarians for sure:)
How much do I love Sunlight Cafe let me count the ways! Amazing food. Beautiful and friendly staff. Hip atmosphere. Great location in Roosevelt neighborhood. Perfect for dates, friend gatherings, brunch, and conversations. It can be a little expensive but you get what you pay for - quality!

Came here with a big group for a birthday. I was thoroughly impressed with everything we ordered, it was a family style meal with lots of dishes and plenty of second helpings. Our group ran the gamut for spice tolerance, vegan, and food allergies but there was plenty of overlap on dishes most of us could eat. The peppery flavors of the meal were such a delight to the palette, slightly numbing in some cases but never too spicy hot, there are even several peppery drinks on the menu that are sure to wow. My favorite was the chicken, but my friends loved the sweet and buttery flavor of the hen of the forest which was definitely my runner-up. Service was also excellent, everything came out quickly, our waters were topped up, and the servers were friendly and knowledgeable on the dishes. Definitely looking forward to the next time!

Laidback, casual place with really tasty food!

The standouts were the mapo doufu (with tofu), the rockfish, and the cumin beef.

I didn’t care for the duck, I expected it to be more like Peking duck but it was not. Despite that the flavors were still good, I liked the fried veggies that came with it.

I also didn’t think the cocktails were overly impressive.

Absolutely love this neighborhood favorite restaurant! Great atmosphere, courteous service and hearty food (BEST tempeh I’ve ever tasted). My favorites are the Vegan Highlander and the sandwiches. They also have amazing homemade desserts!

Give sunlight a try and support local!
First time I went to eat there … I was welcomed by the server and i we sat immediately, he was very attentive. The food was good 4 out of 5 stars.

This restaurant is not an authentic Sichuan or Chinese restaurant, I would recommend Tasty Szechuan or Spicy Style. Having been to many Chinese restaurants, I’m not sure who the target audience of Lion Head is.

I ordered the snow peas and La Zi Ji - as a Chinese person the snow peas at least are really hard to screw up! But it was drenched in a weird sauce that made it taste horrible and the LaZiJi had barely any pieces in it (maybe 10 pieces). The food was overpriced and I won’t be eating here again. The total was almost $50 - everything tasted bland or just bad, always too salty. I wish I could undo the whole experience.

Be weary of takeout/pickup orders, service is slow and they didn't respect the ETA that's given

I ordered from Uber Eats for pickup and I arrived about 5 minutes before the absolute latest that the app suggests the order will take (restaurant is able to see this ETA by the way). There's about a dozen or so folks here, so not incredibly busy. I asked how long it would take and the hostess says 10 minutes after briefly talking with the chefs. Sure, 5 minutes over ETA is fine. I wait 20 minutes at the bar and I still haven't gotten the order. They haven't given me updates either, so I ask the hostess again for an ETA and get an answer from the chef "we're working on it", not giving me useful information. After another almost 10 minutes I finally get the order (totalling almost 30 MINUTES past the original ETA). It seems like they prioritize the sitting guests tbh.

The food itself was OK. The vegetable and Tofu dish had a lot of sauce so the rice soaked it all and was pretty salty. The Tempe burger was missing grilled onions that I ordered. One of the buns was also a bit stale because they dropped one and didn't give ample time for the replacement one to get moist.

What frustrated me the most about this is that the staff was not very busy (chatting amongst each other) and they seemed to have ignored or forgot about the ETA they provided. I was very visibly there at the bar and the hostess walked past me a couple times. They also didn't feel apologetic that they were making me wait such a long amount of time. I felt no empathy from them and felt quite disrespected.

Not going here again.
Great Mediterranean decor sets the mood. Cozy atmosphere. We walked in off the street, less than 10 minutes waiting. We ordered Beef Swarma ( a combination of seasoned beef and vegetables), prawns both served on a bed of rice, with a choice of salad or lentils. We selected lentils... great choice delicious and seasoned to perfection. Wine and a glass of beer. The food was seasoned well and delicious. The portions were reasonable, filling without feeling we ate heavy meals. The service was great. Paid roughly $65 for two meals, drinks, and a tip.

The food was delicious. We had the soupy veg dumplings and Ghost pepper noodles. The Ghost pepper noodles was absolutely amazing, super super spicy but we loved it. Probably should have come with some warning because that is not for people with less spice tolerance. The waiter was friendly and welcoming. We are definitely going back to try their other dishes.
Nice place for a Mediterranean meal. I got the beef kabob plate. The beef was a bit dry for my taste but it was tasty. It came with a red bean soup or salad. I liked the salad. My wife got the salmon kabob plate and she really liked it. The decor is quite nice with the hanging lamps standing out.
Okayish spot for decent Mediterranean food. We tried the mezza platter it was okay. Lentil soup was below average. Service was good.
Spice!! First bite to last. What a blast of flavors and balancing act of deliciousness! This last day of our vacation we “stopped by!!” I don’t regret a second of that decision.

It's so nice to eat food that isn't bland. You can actually taste the seasoning in the food. The drinks (alcoholic and non) are phenomenal, and veer away from traditional boring drinks. The staff are very knowledgeable about the ingredients and are always helpful in picking items out. Especially if you're new to Sichuan style food. They have a/c!
Came in at 8pm Thursday without a reservation - there was no wait. All the food was delicious: falafel plate, Royal with chicken, Ouzi with beef and lamb, and the red lentil soup that is included with the entries; Porter beer. Baklava sample plate for 1-2 people was enough for the two people who shared. The picture is after closing time.

Lots of flavors! Everything served family style. I had green beans, fried rice & prime rib with one friend & it was the perfect amount of food. My friend “loves Chinese food & can’t do spice” but this wasn’t too spicy for her. Good cocktail selection. Service was 🤔 but the server did say they were new.
The food and service is very good. We ordered Falafel Entree, Garlic Lemon Chicken Entree. Both the dishes are topped with Tahini sauce which is so good.

The soup taste is so good with lentils, vegetables and spices.
The Falafel is crispy and tasty.
The Garlic Lemon Chicken is tangy in flavour and tasty.
Girlfriend and I were looking for a good vegan/vegetarian spot to try out new food and study at. We came across this spot while surfing the web and gave it shot. We were both very impressed! The inside is filled with local artist’s art that are sellable (able to be purchased) and not for sale. It was a very awesome experience and the atmosphere is very upbeat! Staff was amazing and their food was delightful! Even their desserts were top notch. I loved everything about this place and can’t wait to try out more of their menu! Would definitely recommend.

They have a diverse and large selection of vegetarian options, almost half the menu. We ordered ghost pepper noodles, pumpkin cumin dumplings, and sweet, sour and tingling fried eggplant. Every dish had completely different flavor profiles, but equally intense flavors. The noodles were a tad bit too spicy, but then they definitely had the ghost pepper in there. Their non alcoholic drinks were a surprise; they use actual pulpy lychee juice!
The place itself isn't very formal or unique. Go here for the punchy flavors.

Delicious food and a great experience! Server was super friendly and helpful. The food was good and there were a few unique options. I would definitely recommend! There was one dish that had a little bit too many dried chili's, and not enough of everything else, but otherwise it was perfect.
I chose this restaurant based upon their vegetarian options, and I had an amazing meal. Plenty of open tables on a Tuesday at 6:30pm, and I was seated within a few minutes. My server took my order and the first dishes were served within 5 minutes, super fast.
I'm familiar with dolmathes but never tried them before, so took the opportunity to do so here. They were good, but didn't have a ton of flavor - most of the flavor came from the sauce and garnish. The salad accompanying my entree was served with the appetizer, and it was leaf lettuce and other dark greens, no iceberg, with a light viniagrette. The main course I ordered was Vegetarian Shawarma, and it took a while to come out but was super hot and fresh when it did and looked amazing. It also tasted fantastic, and was exactly the type of dish I was looking for. Rice was great texture, the mixed variety of veggies was cooked perfectly, and tahini sauce added excellent flavor. I tried a specialty beverage, 'coconut lemonade' but it just tasted like watered down soda fountain lemonade and I didn't get any coconut flavor from it.
My dinner was fantastic and the service was great. I highly recommend eating here!
