BYO snacks, order takeout, or enjoy the (occasional) onsite food vendor with your draft beer 🍺 Dog friendly, kid friendly, and wheelchair accessible ✅👶🏽♿️🐶. 4oz “taster” pours + 12oz & 16oz options. Paid Parking nearby 🅿️. Cans available to-go. Outdoor, covered beer spot with mostly IPAs + limited cider and cocktail options. You can try before you buy and they have 📺 TVs with sports & movies. But it’s WAAAAY too loud (hence 4 stars) 📢
Hard to locate (next to “Compass Coffee” down the long, outdoor corridor—see photos for help locating)
💰I paid $47 for 4x 4oz taster pours + 2 full beers (including 20% tip)

Very nice theatre with good snack options. The only thing I didn't like was the manager took my card as a prepay but the other cat next to me who didn't look like me, he did not. Could be a coincidence, however, it was a bit strange. A previous visit, the young lady and you man who served my wife and I didn't use that tactic. At any rate I think the theatre was very nice.

Just saw Dune 2, the theater is great, sound system is great, theater 7 has a green pixel near the top left corner but not a big deal.
Service was not good, took an hour to get an order of popcorn, they never brought my friends drink order for the whole movie, and worst of all one of the servers was just outside the theater watching videos on their phone through the speakers instead of headphones which could be heard all the way in the back. That's something a customer would get kicked out for but I guess management doesn't hold their employees to the same standards. If the service stays the same, save your money and go to the AMC.

The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema was founded by Rice University alums Tim and Karrie League at 409 Colorado St, in an Austin, Texas warehouse district building on Colorado St. (between 4th and 5th) that was being used as a parking garage.
Soon after opening, the original downtown theater began offering occasional unique programming such as silent movies scored by local bands playing live accompaniment, food-themed films such as Like Water for Chocolate served with a dinner matching the meals shown on screen, and retrospectives of various directors and stars.
This includes location-based food options depending on the film setting.
In 2001, the Leagues renovated a four-screen art-house theater at 2700 Anderson Lane in North Austin called Village Cinema, which had recently closed, and opened it as an Alamo Drafthouse which specialized in first-run movies. With this new Alamo Drafthouse Village, the downtown location ceased showing second-run movies and began to concentrate almost exclusively on unusual programming, including classics, cult classics, independents, documentaries, special guest appearances, and audience participation shows.

I was in DC for a couple of days and after a day of sightseeing, was ready to chill and grab some beers. I'm a huge craft beer fan and saw that Other Half's DC location was pretty close to where I was staying. I've had quite a few of their beers and also been to their brewery in Brooklyn, which was boss. This location was equally good. I ended up getting four beers, two NEIPA's, which were both really good and fresh and also two barrel aged beers, one was great, the other not so much. Service was on point and the guy behind the bar was very friendly and accommodating. It is a large space with outdoor seating and there was a quiz going on while I was there. You can also buy beer to take away too.

IYKYK, they’re one of the best in the game. If you think you don’t enjoy beer, try this place out. Their IPAs are always great. The sours, the stouts. All the essentials.

the absolute WORST & most UNPROFESSIONAL customer service I’ve ever experienced. Came here for the Super Bowl and I politely asked the manager if my group could sit at an empty half of a table that said “reservation 5:30pm”- when I asked it was 6pm. The manager (a male) said “give it 15 more minutes because we have a 45min grace period and come back and see me”. I waited and came back to the bar to speak to them again since no one had showed and was approached by a tall woman with curly hair up in a bun. She proceeded to assault me by profusely tapping my knees(which I had surgery on less than 6 weeks ago) because I was blocking her from crawling under the bar counter to exit the bar instead of using her words and saying excuse me. Then she told me to wait there while she figured it out. I waited and did not see her until about 30minutes later when I had to approach her again to ask about the same table. Instead of getting me an answer she then runs off again and when I asked if we could sit at the table since it was empty and the game was starting she threatens to kick us out. Instead of coming right out and saying the people already sitting on one half of the table reserved the ENTIRE table, she was rude, unprofessional, assaulted me, and threatened to kick us out. This was our first time visiting and it’s sad that we had such a terrible experience. Will not be coming again.

Phenomenal! The Color Purple 💜 is a must see. It was my first time at the Alamo (It's in walking distance from my house)..The theater is beautiful. You can order food & drinks right from ur seat... Great. And the seats recline. The only downside is the servers are always walking by and sometimes blocking ur view of the screen. And there are only 2 single bathrooms on the 2nd floor( not sure if they're others). And although I opted not to order anything from the menu this time, I'll try an item or two next time...GO SEE THE MOVIE!!!

Great location and glad to see the area is being revitalized. Decent food and beverage menu. Only real compliant the seats didn’t recline back as far as I’m used to at other theaters. The service during the movie can be slow as others have stated. Overall I’ll definitely come back for another movie that’s exclusive to Alamo.

I come to DC frequently, and this place is a MUST! The food and vibe are ok. What keeps me coming back is the bartender, Ben. You'll immediately recognize him. He's the one with long hair, Auburn hat (his only downfall...Roll Tide), and the absolute best southern accent in DC. His conversations, attention to detail, knowing what I want and getting me to try new things that I find I love, and overall down to earth/welcoming persona is what keeps me coming back. It's a pleasant surprise to find courteous staff in DC. Thanks, Ben! See ya again in January!

Bartenders are slow, inattentive, and disorganized. Much better options in the D.C. area.
Edit: Since customer support is laboring under the delusion that this review was solely penned in response to the SEC Championship fiasco, I feel compelled to elaborate that bartenders at Franklin Hall are slow, inattentive, and disorganized REGARDLESS of the event / game / season. Even if it’s only mildly busy, expect to wait anywhere from 10 - 20 minutes to get a bartender’s attention. This has been the case for 3 years running, and I don’t foresee management changing that anytime soon, based on their responses toward negative reviews. Look elsewhere to enjoy game day.

Great Hangout Spot
Franklin Hall is a perfect staple for beer, bar food, and sports.
They have great daily specials (half off wing nights, half off burger nights, etc.). The vibe is chill on weeknights and slightly more rowdy during weekend football (where things still feel fun and chill).
The buffalo wings are pretty good. They have a nice kick to them, but I wish they came out hotter in temperature and more well done (crispy). Tots were also good with a nice seasoning, but a little too salty. I've also had the smash burger, which was nothing out of this world, but a solid burger on 1/2 off night. Solid bar food, but not sure paying full price for most items are entirely worth it from a food perspective.
Overall 8/10 fun place to hang out with actual food and drink specials.

Pros: best seats of any theatre in DC (very comfortable and recline), they show almost everything, *great* deals on Tuesdays, food/ drinks are pretty good, conveniently located by the red line and close to several bars/restaurants for food or drinks before or after shows, theatre is always clean.
Cons: confusing to check in and to order food if you've never been before, service is just okay (the last two times I've been I've waited 20 minutes for water to be served and have heard similar stories from friends).
Overall it's probably the best theatre in DC, but I've heard their Crystal City location has excellent service if you're looking for a 10/10 theatre experience.

Super cool space (I imagine it's packed on the weekends) - a lot of indoor & outdoor places and seems like plenty of room to spread out. The beer was delicious too - great selection of a variety of types and even a NA IPA on draft! Definitely recommend if you like good craft beer 🍺

I didn’t necessarily have the highest hopes for the comedy show, but I went in with an open mind. Unfortunately it was back to back cringe worthy comedians with quite similar material that really wasn’t all that funny. Maybe that’s a bit harsh, there may have been 2-3 comedians that were pretty decent.
There’s room for a lot of improvement with the decor… A LOT! The photos on Google seem very very outdated and doesn’t seem like the same venue.
Drinks wise, it was okay. But it was a bit gross when the person behind the bar used her hands to pick up the limes that were going in my drink.
As the other reviews mention - don’t get the VIP ticket. It makes no difference with the seating… And the gift is one free ticket for 2 to a future show 😂🤣… Cheeky!!!

There's a reason Other Half are turning up in multiple cities; the beer is so good.
We visited on a quiet afternoon and had a great time. The staff were super friendly and obviously the beer is exceptional.
We really liked the neighbourhood vibe.

had to order online but it only worked on Android devices, we tried on 3 other phones but it wouldn't go through. food was meh pretty average bar snacks. service was relatively fast. had about 2 dozen mosquito bites by the time I left would appreciate some bug spray like they do at a few other places around

Well, this was definitely a weird experience. Felt more like a place where amateur and first-time comedians try their material for the first time. Only some of the several comedians in the line-up were funny, and I even considered leaving in the middle of the show.
The sound was bad, too, we couldn’t hear some of the jokes as the audio was muffled. Definitely not worth your money.

Fabulous! Just saw the new movie, with Denzel Washington headlining. Love the decor! Theatre smells good. Seats extra large , reclining and you can order food to be served at your seat. Security on point! The movie was clear and sound. Great large picture poster art on all walls! The food was delicious! I ordered the Alamo Salad! Yum! Parking outside easy. Logistically right across from MetroBarDC!!!! Lovely day! Had a great time.

THIS PLACE SUCKS. All the “comedians” need training on how to use a microphone and the sound tech needs some training as well.
The comedians may have been humorous if you had been able to understand what they were saying!

The staff and ownership at this bar are incredible. We had an emergency and they all sprung into action immediately, providing water, ice and whatever else we needed (and refunding our tabs, which was extremely unnecessary). The owner even provided his contact info so we could provide him with updates of our situation. If you want to be in a safe environment where you will be cared for—go to the Brig!

Absolutely fantastic (and huge space) with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Service is expert level and super friendly, which goes a long way given all the great beer options they have. I had the Snowbirds Maple (on-site only) this go around. Just an amazing and smooth pastry stout. That, paired with awesome service and the fun patio/light/mister fans rolling, made for a great visit. And if you’re looking for beer to go, a huge row of cases pretty much has it all. Great to see Other Half rocking it in this DC space for going on 3 years now.

Bad pub food and even worse service. The atmosphere was ok. Seems like a good place to stop for a beer but definitely don’t plan on eating here.

This place is amazing. The service is great, and the menu is unbelievable 😃😃😃
Oh, and I forgot to add... no cash, only credit/debit
Coffee is on point.... popcorn is buttery... make sure to tell them..
Recliner seats are comfortable

It’s funny going to the old Heaven and Hell dance spot for comedy these days! The place hasn’t changed — drinks are still terrible, it’s not the cleanest spot — but now they put up a stage and chairs for comedy. I went with an open mind but sorry to say these were not the best comics DC had to offer. I had a better time at a comedy pop-up at Origin Gallery on Mt. Pleasant street, walking distance from here. Giving 2 stars because it wasn’t horrible - we did laugh a little bit.

I went for happy hour with friends, and we got a few picnic tables outside. But that night was also trivia right next to us, and the announcer’s voice felt like it was in my ear. The volume was way too loud - especially since they had no more than 5 people actually playing the trivia. Otherwise, the beer was good and it was cool to spot a few congressmen.

The Brig is a lively beer garden that offers a taste of Germany with its liters of brews and traditional eats. The spacious patio is perfect for gathering with friends and family, while the QR code ordering system adds convenience. The German beer selection is noteworthy, providing an authentic experience. The family-friendly environment and plentiful TVs make it an ideal spot for sports enthusiasts. However, the beer selection and service fall short of expectations, lacking variety and efficiency. Despite this, the overall atmosphere and concept of The Brig create an enjoyable experience, particularly for those seeking a relaxed and casual beer garden setting.

Great extension for the NYC brand. Good looking bar, great beers, friendly staff and dog friendly too. There was an Asian food truck on site when we visited, didn’t order anything.

This place is huge. I’ve been here many times for large group gatherings and birthday parties because the seating is all bench based and very easy for a big group of friends to come. Games, light food and loads of beer! Highly recommend!

I always pick out the best brewery (or top 2-3) when I visit somewhere so I had to come here. I was not disappointed. Excellent selection of styles and very high quality across the board. Layout was nice and spacious. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I’ll likely come back

I got the big pretzel and the chips and salsa and it was good to eat. The horseradish sauce is very hot so be careful. It cleared my nose right up

Franklin hall has quite an ambiance that is both inviting and captivating. The libations are of superb quality, making it a top destination for those who appreciate a well-crafted drink.
However, what sets this place apart are the complimentary pool tables that add an extra element of entertainment to the overall experience. It is a must-visit destination for those seeking a lively atmosphere and an enjoyable evening out.

This was the starting location of the Pacer's Black History Month Run/Walk. Apparently they did some special things to serve us so don't know how the next person's experience will be. The things include these pancakes and mimosas where they are traditionally a bar and don't have brunch options normally. A participant ordered the old bay wings and raved about them. Since it was a meeting place, didn't get to experience fully. Did see they have pool tables, connect four and other table games.

Great place! Tons of beers on tap and good food. They can accommodate groups of pretty much any size - the ordering is all digital, brought right to your table. You can keep your tab separate or easily combine it with others. The music was 90's alt-rock, which seemed to match the clientele.

The host of this show is… so gross. It was in a weird windowless loft area of the top of what seemed to be an apartment foyer. Camping chairs were set up for seating. The host was incredibly misogynistic and his jokes overall just made no sense and were uncomfortable. The whole crowd felt it. The other comedians were okay, some of them weren’t garnering many laughs and made some awkward silences with really misogynistic content. I won’t be back—there are so many legitimate comedy clubs in DC with comics who have content besides degrading women. Very bizarre experience overall.
Also this was advertised as a jazz comedy night, with jazz music prior to the show. By that they meant they played music from the 50s on a blue tooth speaker. So weird. And tix were $25 each. Support more respectful vendors.

The April 8th show was disappointing. The emcee was awful; nothing funny came out of his mouth. The microphone/sound was poor - at least check it out before the show starts. The music was so loud before the event started, that I couldn't talk to my wife. Maybe three of the eight comics were any good; it seemed like they grabbed one stoned guy off the street and let him try to talk for 5 minutes. The only good thing was the artwork surrounding the stage. We had two bottled beers and a piece of cake for $25. The bottled Corona with a lime was the best thing!

Sports bar with 6 large screen tv’s broadcasting a variety of live games. Great for snacks and drinks while on the go. You order via an app - GoTab. This allows the staff to fill orders quicker than the usual ‘in person’ method. It was easy to use. The beer came quickly as did the food. The nachos could have had a bit more cheese as half of the chips were bare. The pretzel was REALLY GOOD as were the fries with malt vinegar. Portions were large. They have beer on tap and some in cans-they pour it in a glass for you. It’s an outdoor bar - most of seating is covered and the heaters do a good job of making it warm. Not upscale - very casual. If you are looking for fancy cocktails and appetizers, this is not the place. If you are looking for a no-fills sports bar, then look no further. The atmosphere was lively as it was busy for a Thursday.

Everything about this place was horrible. First of all, it doesn’t matter what tickets you buy because you get the same seats. There is no “special gift” if you want to spend more money. Before the show, there is random music playing - they play like 2 minutes of the song and then change it. There were like 8 comedians that performed and only one of them were kind of funny. The host made the show super awkward, like he was a frat guy who never grew up. The seating was very weird and the seats felt like they were going to break. The drinks were terribly small and filled with ice.
I really like comedy shows and I was trying to like this, but it was horrid. Find a different show to see in DC.

Great local talent. Intimate space. Wish they would update the seating chairs though; I was holding my breath as I sat on a chair with a shaky leg lol. We felt like I was gonna fall at any minute. The food is not good. The drinks are strong depending on who is pouring them. Just go for the jokes and get drinks downstairs and you’ll be fine.

First time going here for my friends birthday party and it was decent. You need to have a either a negative Covid-19 test within the past 72 hours or been vaccinated to enter. It’s a huge hall / sports bar from my perspective. I think my friends enjoyed their drinks more than the food. They said the nachos were cold, chicken sausage was dry and the burger was basic. Basically they said don’t come here to eat a good meal. It’s a place you mainly drink. You have been warned. They do have water available for no drinking folks like myself as well. I liked the bar decor personally because it was Christmas festive and tasteful. Overall, it’s an okay spot to hangout with friends.
