One of the huge station for local and intercity trains..all fast train stops here..this is one of the junction located in central line
There are 7 platforms here.
Platform 1 and 1A is for trains leaving from Kalyan towards CSMT side.
Platforms 2 and 3 is for slow trains coming from CSMT to Karjat/Kasara and Vise Versa.
Platforms 4 and 5 is for Express Trains. But sometimes local may also arrive here.
Platforms 6 and 7 is generally for Fast local trains though slow local trains and express train may arrive here.
All the platforms are clean. You may get atleast one RPF officer in and may go up to 4 to 5 or more.
One may book Reservation tickets from near Platform 1, also for Local train.

Kalyan Junction is a very important railway junction station both for local and long distance trains. It has all necessary facilities like water, eating, sitting, toilet etc. There are neat, clean tidy platforms and enough number of foot over bridges. Drinking water, food courts, wheel chair and Parking facility are also available but unfortunately for the people commuting outside the station is a nightmare with rogue auto drivers ruling the roost.
The ST bus depot provides bus services across various towns in the state. But ST depots are notorious for being uncleaned. This depot is nothing different. The unwelcoming seating area, unhygienic food section and poorly maintained depot building, all these represents a typical government infrastructure. The depot is blessed with huge open space near the Kalyan station. But people prefer travelling by private vehicles just for the purpose of comfort. The depot administration need to utilise the full potential of this important place.
Unhygienic place, always dirty. Not at all maintained. Buses are also very dirty looks like Swatchh Bharat is not meant for such public places in Maharashtra. In other states bus depots and bus stations are much better maintained.
Because of the dirtiness of this place people find it last option to catch the bus from one place to other.

2 frequency of buses are less for some destination and too much some other destination
3 no proper helpdesk or those who are sitting on helpdesk not interested in helping.
4 no proper information on buses
5 no proper queing facility for passengers
6 buses are too old fashioned and dirty, cleaned partially only in rainy season.
7 people spit here and there
8 Few conductors and drivers are not well spoken
9 in rainy season there always a pool of muddy water near the entrance of the bus depot.
Because of the dirtiness of this place people find it last option to catch the bus from one place to other.

Considering that the Kalyan ST stand has NMMT and KDMC buses plying their routes in addition to MSRTC, the services are woefully inadequate. This also leads to traffic congestion at all times. The passenger facilities such as restrooms are poorly maintained and there is need for proper cleanliness.
