I part time as a social work volunteer and a health promotion navigator in the DC area. I use your app most of the time to move from one place to another. I know my way around because you are spot on as fat as addresses and locations go.

A happy tired puppy. That says all that value would say how need is worth. The clean and fit short fur shown on these animals is finely done past military standard. The thoughtful sometimes smiling faces of these animals show properness in the amount of land they were given to roam and sit. Over the top photos show home love. Some animals in the photos were subtly decorated similar to thier owners.

Horrible place Horrible people working there the workers don't have no type of sympathy for nobody they all care about how they look rather then doing there job witch is finding stable housing for struggling families

They Dont Answer the phone, they have no sense of urgency, you can probably get the Mexico on foot faster than they will help you.

Signed docs to say that would assist with four months of rent at 100%, 75%, 50% and 25% and security deposit but paid first month and security deposit, that I had to constantly call them to arrange and lack of communication from case worker, was switched without telling me and literally was still worried the day of signing my lease because there was no contact with Virginia Williams. I have one child and it was extremely difficult to get their assistance the one time I did.

They are very unprofessional in the customer service aspect of this place. They NEVER answer the phones, not even knowing what type of emergency their having. New management needs to take over, since they can't multitasking. It's sad that ppl get in these positions and get too comfortable in their seat, not knowing people are our here suffering. It's been going on long enough.

I couldn’t wait to get off the phone and do this review! I have a thousand bad experiences with this place since 2005, but today I received a call back from Ms. Yvette Tucker and all I can do is thank God for her. Someone who actually cares and sympathizes with people. She even made me laugh a bit! She said I made her day, but she just don’t know how much she made mines! Thank you for giving me hope Ms Tucker! Great day center for male homeless in need of breakfast and lunch, showers, mail service, grocery bags and food pantry, social worker on sight and group counseling sessions.

This place is fine. Except you have to call 1000 times to get someone to answer the phone. I’m still waiting for a manager to call me and it’s been past 48hours they claimed. I was advised to the homeless prevention program where they refuse to help me and my 2 children as well as my UNBORN find shelter. I was told by the person assigned to me I AM NOT IN DYING NEED. What????
His name- Kemi Barleycorn. I have reached out several times concerning this. I HAVE SPOKEN TO NO ONE. Please be aware! Even after emailing and calling almost everyday. Me and my children are still out of luck it seems. It’s sad because I’ve lived here my whole life and done the right thing. WORK MYSLEF TO DEATH TO PROVIDE FOR MY FAMILY. I was wrongfully terminated while on maternity leave with my daughter and have been struggling every since. Now I can’t get any help. Do yourself a favor and try your best to not need anyone’s help as it seems they like to see certain people struggle as if it’s a joke. I know plenty of other people with less dying of need circumstances with 1 child who received help with no problem. Dont worry I’ll continue to call everyday , or go to any of the necessary offices until I can get a manager as it’s clear I am getting the run around.

My daughter is in love stats at one of these places with my grandchild they don’t feed them on holidays. Very concerned a child has to eat three meals a day as well as his mother that is a type one diabetic so I’m not understanding this kind of place where the social worker doesn’t respond to emails and doesn’t show up to talk to the residents and of people that are in there. I think the mayor should look into these. Places Virginia Williams places at least, and do some kind of inspection or something to find out how these places are actually running kind of like an undercover boss to see how actually the people are being treated.

This is a place that help families and single women to find themselves once again. Hope is our GOAL for the families we serve. With hope anything is possible. I am greatful to work for this awesome organization.

I went to the Father McKenna Center to participate in a one on one focus group on SNAP benefits. The place functions as a homeless shelter for me which was clean and well maintained by the Catholic Church that housed it

Lost my apartment and car in August and have been redirected to Virginia Williams each time seeking help with shelter, just to not be helped. Every time I call the staff is ready to get off the phone, they don't care about helping anyone. I told the lady I lost a document she requested when I lost my apartment and I never heard back. Everytime I call nobody answers or even return a phone call. Needless to say DC is the worst place to face hardship. Workers don't wanna work and when they do thy have an attitude. I am not happy at all.

If someone need some help out tell them to go to the house of or to the one I'm living in now Calvary center for women it's a good program to get yourself together.

The sisters who serve here are dedicated, selfless, and work tirelessly to provide donated meals to the local community. God’s grace is evident, and the concept of the “church” is expressed fully here.

Loving charitable order feeding the needy in their area, caring for pregnant women and providing resources for children in the community

It's a "very very nice" place to visit if you're homeless and need help with things, ( I. D., Legal help, meals, clothing, etc. I personally always get the help I need from them. I am very thankful of them and may (GOD BLESS THEM) Sincerely Ronald

I go here from time to time I wish the food was a little better I always have to pick through the stuff they serve I guess they feel like I'm homeless o shouldn't complain but I'm quite sure they are well funded and the mark up every meal they serve accordingly at least the food shouldn't be stale or they should test it like so " if someone where serving this to me would I eat it"

I was in the process of getting a protective order and divorce from my narcissistic abusive husband. I made several trips to secure their legal representation. We discussed my case at 8pm the night before my case....I knew then this wasn't going to help. However, I showed up 1 hr earlier than my court time in hopes to cover more detail just to find out 30min before my case is to be heard that they will NOT be representing me after all. I was livid! Consequently, bc of this unprofessional and worthless organization, i lost my case. They are an organization that gets plenty of grant funds but do not uphold their purpose. They are extremely unprofessional, that's if you can get a hold of them. They don't answer the phone and they are in their office maybe 1hr out of the day. Don't waste your time with them, they did not provide any form of care or assistance.

Ppl come to this place for fair representation and other resources for the sake of their family well being, They put their trust and hope in this place just to be nothing more than disappointed. This place deserves a -10, & should be renamed as House of Ruthless.

Father McKenna Center runs a biweekly food pantry. A large variety of food items for us patrons to choose from - canned and/or fresh fruits and vegetables. They even offer a choice of meat items. ALWAYS friendly and helpful volunteers.

Will return to volunteer and donate..best thing in community A+ the Sisters Got it Right A+

I have reached out to this organization several times and have gotten nowhere. It's been at least a month since the first time I reached out to them and still nothing. Not a returned phone call, NOTHING. Fraudulent

I am a survivor of domestic violence, believe me when i tell you it feels like i'm still in a domestic situation, the only difference is that my face is not busted or bruised. That staff here are truly unprofessional Mrs. Latoya who is supposed to intake young children and mothers in domestic situation stated that i was not good mother for not having my child and that she was a better mother than me and if she were to not have her child she would go crazy. First of all i am truly hurt as a mother not to be with my child second it was not her place to say anything like that to me as her to be in the place of work and third i have to stay sane to get myself together to be with my son again, again These staff are cruel and they try to put us down rather than lift us up because their not in our shoes, and they cant relate to us the case mangers have favorites of who they want to help and not to help my case manger gets upset when i tell her i dont feel she has help me with the things i have asked her to do for me and she states to not ask her at all if she not doing her job. So at this point what do you do? Please don't believe these make believe views and comments you see. I currently stay a house a Ruth pl;ease take my word . The only Person who some what care a little is Mrs. Serteria the program manager. Thats about it.

American Humane is an animal welfare group that goes above and beyond, from helping out when disaster strikes to providing veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress with service dogs, there is no one else who steps up for animals in all walks of life like AH.

They have been animal welfare advocates for over a century, long before the Human Society or PETA. They've been using science and modern animal welfare standards for designating certifications, and they have helped better the live of countless animals through their efforts!

I lived in house of Ruth in Washington DC when I was only 18yrs old. It was a hard time for me. If u don't be into sign in on time u lose ur bed. The only thing that was good that came out of there was the church every Sunday a bus would pick us up, those who wanted to go. Would go to this church. I mean I felt that when the choir sang I felt the music in my bones. I felt that they was talking to me. I have never been to a church like that ever.that is the only good thing that I can remember at that crazy place. But just like the other person said don't get stuck there. Don't get caught up in the game some women been there for years.Sad. god bless

The recent designation of Siegfried and Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat as meeting "the gold standard for animal welfare" by American Humane is without merit.

As noted by the Review-Journal, MGM made significant contributions to establish the new program with David Blasko of the Habitat sitting on the advisory committee. The committee also consists of a panel of individuals heavily invested in the use of animals in entertainment, like animal trainers and Ringling Bros employees. These individuals support the captivity and use of cruel training methods on animals for the purpose of human entertainment.

Further, American Humane is the organization responsible for the “no animals were harmed” accreditation seen at the end of films. A well-documented expose released in 2013 showed that countless animals have been harmed or killed on film sets, even while the same film went on to receive accreditation by American Humane.

How “humane” is it to hold dolphins captive in pools in the middle of the desert where they are subjected to constant sunlight and UV rays? The Animal Welfare Act, the federal law that regulates standards for animal care and treatment, specifically sets a mandate for adequate shade for marine mammals, yet the dolphins at the Mirage have virtually none.

How “humane" it is to hold large apex predators like tigers captive in small cages, where they can never engage in any behavior that is natural or instinctual to them like stalking prey?

The latest designation bestowed on the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat is an example of an industry that survives off the backs of animals congratulating itself for continuing to do so, while lying about any positive impact they have for the animal species they hold captive for profit.

Animal captivity by MGM including the Mirage is a shameful and cruel practice that is rapidly running out of steam in an age when people are waking up to the reality that animal captivity is not kind and it is not educational, it is animal cruelty.

Always showing amazing stories of how they're helping animals and people. 10/10 would recommend.

It is a roof over my head. When I should feel grateful i wonder. For those who are use to living with others it may be alright. But if you have lived on your own and never had to live under some elses rules . it is hard. 60 years old and being told what to do or you could loose your bed... hard. Being housed with ex cons, thiefs, loud and obnoxious femaies. Takes a lot to hold on to your own sanity. Oh if you are sick and need to rest... this is not the place for you. If you must - be prepared get your lock, personal hygienes and especially toliet paper. and you are all set. Blessings. Just remember - this is the first step to your new beginnings - Don't get caught up and get stuck. Keep moving and praying. GOD is awesome....
